Very cool place. Lots of neat puzzles and games. Yummy candy made in store, as well as I ecream. The bananas foster waffle was very good. The biscuits looked awesome, did not try though. Worth the visit.

Finally made my pilgrimage down here! It was a great experience! Got the s’more sundae, raspberry phosphate, and my wife got the strawberry phosphate. I will definitely go back (this weekend).

Absolutely love this place! Saw it through YouTube from their candy making videos, this place is one of the few that still makes candy like they did in the 1800s and its so interesting to watch if you get the chance. Its also just happens to be one of the BEST breakfast/lunch spot if you happen to be in the Tallahassee area. Some of the coolest painted tubas and yo-yo collection too!!

Have loved watching their YouTube channel for years and finally got to stop by today. Picked a few of favorite candys, and had a delicious mellow marshmallow Sunday. Atmosphere is delightful, and before I left I noticed the owner Greg was outside.I went out and thanked him for his channel and delicious sweets. We talked for about an hour about business and it was so gracious of him. Im looking forward to the next time work brings me to the area and I can stop by again.

Delicious food! I had the sausage, egg, and cheddar cheese biscuit. Yummy! It was so big I could not even finish it. My husband had the spicy omelet and cleaned his plate. My mom had the traditional breakfast plate and said the bacon was amazing. We will definitely be back.

I can only speak of the ice cream here. This place came highly recommended, but it took me months to try it out. I was waiting for a particular ice cream flavor to appear on their rotating list. Finally, maple walnut arrived!! The ice cream is just ideal—-just the right amount of butterfat and the right texture—not too hard, not too soft. With each ice cream, you can add one dry topping. They have quite a few selections. I got a sizable quantity of ice cream for $3.00. Any ice cream lover would adore this spot. Also, the server was very nice.

This place is amazing, I ordered a assortment of candies as a mothers day gift. When I opened the box I was blown away with the large amount of detail in the candy, they were well packaged and most of all they tasted really good. The Crystal Roses were highly detailed so as the Chocolate Dipped Strawberries with little dots on them for the seeds. Over all if you are ever in or near Tallahassee Florida take a visit to Lofty Pursuits to get some candy and ice cream. This place is truly a five star place that every one should visit.

Food was flavorful, but I asked for over easy eggs and got well done eggs. Food was not as hot as it should have been. Nice little shopping experience with games and puzzles. Slightly disappointed.

Previous visits have always been a delight but this was an expensive and disappointing experience. The coffee was lukewarm at best and the strawberries were hard and bitter. Will stick to ice creams in the future.

Lofty Pursuits is AMAZING! They have the most unique ice cream flavors and the creamiest ice cream ever! The customer service is excellent. The shop and outside are clean. Yes, they do put safety first during a pandemic. They have their customers’ and employees’ best interest at heart. I appreciate that very much. This is the only ice cream shop that my family and I visit. Their dishes are delicious too!

This is a fun place and the candy really is amazing. The shop has a fun atmosphere, even if at times it cant pick a theme I dont think I would have it any other way. It is a place that is a work of a lot of Passion everything tasted great and I saw treats that I have honestly never seen or heard of anywhere else. This place is such a local gem with fun old fashioned ice cream creations and candies as well as so many fun games and toys. When youre in a rut for birthday gift ideas, go here and you might find something fun! I havent had their breakfast but people seem to really enjoy it. And on top of all the awesomeness, this store has been a true champion and hero during the pandemic with their store policies that support public health. So wonderful that this long time Tally tradition is continuing strong and shows great care for their customers and employees! Highly recommended!

I had the vegan ice cream. It was... unique. The chocolate and the vanilla both had a decent depth of flavor, the only issue was that it was quite gummy, so eating more than a scoop started to impart an unbearably mouthfeel. My SO had the dairy Ice cream and she said it was marvelous. There is a ton of variety for you to select from so Im sure there are plenty of great options. Regardless, Im not rating this place so much on the food, but the environment. Places like these are missing from the world. The staff is nice and attentive and they even sell various tabletop games which I bought and played right there on the table with my SO.

First time visit today. It was confusing when we walked in there were 3-4 employees just standing around. No one asked if we needed help with anything and didnt know where to order till we started asking who is working. Ordered food, then probably waited 20 mins or more for 2 sandwiches and the employees didnt know how much the candy was.. I am pleased that my sandwich was delicious thou!

One of our absolute favorite places for not just ice cream but also brunch! Adore everything about this lovely restaurant. Our son loves to watch them make candy and we love the menu. Did I mention the location?? Market Square and close to everything. They’ve been one of the few places we know we can safely visit during the pandemic and they’ve earned fans for life. This place is one of a kind. They have come a long way from the novelty toy store I remember as a young teen. Now have a delicious menu and ice cream and candy options. Locally sourced food items make this a truly local experience. Ive mainly been here for breakfast, and its always been good. Today was the best! The prices are good especially for what you get. The inside is whimsical and fun with a nostalgic touch of decades past. There are lots of fun toys and games for sale including silly novelties. They also have a selection of games and toys you can demo. They have a private room for parties.

Love this place so much! I have been a long time visitor of Lofty and always enjoy my visits. If you are looking for food they are known for their fantastic ice cream shakes, sodas, and sundaes, but they also have great breakfast food items. What makes them a super unique and fun experience is that they craft their whip cream, sodas, and shakes old school style.

One of the best ice cream shops youll ever visit, and a uniquely cool place with selected toys and handmade, beautiful old-fashioned hard candy. They always have some vegan ice cream and sorbet options. Their brunch menu is great, too, with vegan and gluten-free options. My family has been here countless times over the years and the staff is always friendly and professional. I especially appreciate the care that they have always shown for the community and their staff.

Shipping is a bit delayed because they are blowing up on YouTube.I just received my order of Dill Pickle, Peach Drop, and Lime Soda candies and they are great hard candy that matches the flavor. The Peach are hard and sticky and the Lime Soda is soft and close to a 7-Up flavor with fizz.

Lofty Pursuits is an absolute treasure, and a location I always make sure to bring out-of-town guests when they want to see the best local sights. They use homemade ganache to make their hot cocoa (a favorite of mine, even in the summer), and they have hands-down the best selection of ice cream-based desserts in the city. Their aesthetic is also well-designed and family-friendly; it’s like you’ve been transported to an ice cream shop in the 50’s. It makes for a comfortable and welcoming place to hang out with friends and play board games. And if ice cream isn’t your jam, they also serve breakfast and brunch throughout the day.I can’t recommend Lofty Pursuits highly enough.

Driving to Tampa from Detroit, Tallahassee is quite a bit out of the way, but we simply had to take this detour to visit the location of one of our familys very most favorite YouTube channels. We were permitted to see that the owner and host Greg was even there making a video! We watched the production, got brunch and finished off with some ice cream. We were not disappointed! Try the pancakes, biscuits and gravy, and Mexican hot chocolate ice cream. 🌶🍧

We had a terrible experience at this place. During our hour wait for food, we had to remind the servers twice what we ordered. When the food finally arrived, most of it was cold and dry. Do not recommend.

Very nice atmosphere. Everyone is friendly and greets you when you walk in.The Root Beer Float was delicious. My husband got the Lime Sherbert with Lime Soda. It was made with fresh lime juice. They serve breakfast and lunch, but we werent all that hungry. It smelled good, though!There was a girl cutting up candy right in the front when you walk in. The candy is unique and a nice change. Its also delicious!

Amazing brunch!!! We had strawberry pancakes, hash browns, bacon, steak, eggs (scrambled & over easy) and mimosas. Everything was SO good. We couldn’t stop raving about it. Usually breakfast/brunch restaurants serve small, skinny pieces of bacon and steak but this place serves them big and thick. Almost everyone can make eggs, but they had the best eggs I’ve ever had.Our server, Lamar, was so attentive, friendly and helpful. He made our experience even better. We look forward to coming back so he can serve us again. This place is highly recommended!

Great treats, amazing energy, humorous/quirky atmosphere, and a wonderful place for brunch or lunch, too.Lofty Pursuits was one of the first to respond during the pandemic with food delivery, and went above and beyond to add delivery of grocery basics including toiletries, bread, milk, and even toilet paper, which helped us so much in those early days of COVID. This was an ethical achievement not only because it helped those of us in need of supplies, but it kept their workers employed when so many of us were staying home and not visiting restaurants. Plus, they even sent free yo-yos and had board games for purchase (We purchased the game Pandemic - a little too close to home? Maybe - but we had a great time playing it! We also really liked the game Ramen Fury that we bought, too.) There was definitely more than one Sunday morning in 2020 that was made brighter because I decided to schedule a brunch delivery from Lofty Pursuits (which you can do in advance). I also sent a DIY-Sundae-kit to family from my church that I was matched with to give a random act of kindness. PLUS - they will deliver locally roasted ground coffee from Lucky Goat along with your meals, ice cream, groceries, and board games... I mean what else does a girl want in life??The pictures are of my daughter with a fresh, handmade Lofty Pursuits candy cane, sitting on Santas lap, and dancing with her dad to the Lofty Pursuits marching band performance at Christmas 2019. My family loved watching them make their old fashioned candy and having a real-live Santa in the store was super fun, too. We now annually buy these candy canes to send to relatives from out of town for Christmas - yes, theyre that good!! I look forward to when its safe for us to gather and do that again! For now, I appreciate their outdoor dining and delivery.Oh - last thing - when I took my daughter there for breakfast a few weeks ago, my daughter was asking me what all the pictures of bananas were about. I did my best to fumble through an explanation of the quirky Lofty Pursuits humor. Later, during our meal, the candy guy comes out and hands us a little to-go container with a generous sample of banana candy (SO COOL that they are able to roll the candy and slice it with the believable image of a banana inside)... hed even put a little moisture-absorbing packet in the container with the candy to help keep it fresh. I have no idea whether the candy maker overheard my daughter asking about the banana-theme-decor, or whether it was purely synchronistic, but whatever it was, that guy had a heart of gold. Im telling you, people, this place is above and beyond. FULL OF LOVE. Makes you feel like theres still good in the world. Lofty Pursuits elevates our communitys heart to another level. We are so lucky to have them in Tallahassee.

We went there for ice cream and old fashion candy. What we found was games to play with or to buy. The old fashion candy machines and presses were interesting to see. The candy is great ( we bought 3 bags). The ice cream cone was full of ice cream all the way until the last bite. If you can’t make it there; each them on YouTube.

This is a quirky little place in a high traffic location. Expect the unexpected here. They make candy on site. They sell board games and other memorabilia. The star of the show, in my opinion, is the ICE CREAM! Wow is it good! Locally owned and operated and well worth the visit.

A very cute soda shop. You feel like you walked in time when you open the door. It has lots of ice cream that is yummy. There are lots of toys and games to buy.Plenty of seating is available, from bar stools to tables. Its a pretty big open area inside. They have candy and soda available to purchase too.It was so good, I think Ill buy some to take with me...and Markee was sweet enough to help!!!

Food was good, vegan ice cream great. However they must have mixed up the vegan and non vegan pancakes they served our kids. Our dairy intolerant kid got very sick after eating here.

You have the option to build your own, or you can select one of their mouthwatering sundaes! Either way, you cant go wrong in my opinion.The lost a star due to service. The staff was not welcoming and one of the girls was even slightly hostile. They are open until 9pm, so we stopped by after dinner, at about 8:40. There was a decent line to stand in, and when we got to the counter to order, they informed us that we could no longer order sundaes for some unknown reason (which of course was what we wanted). We were getting them to go anyways, and it was only about 8:50 at this point, so I really dont understand it. Or why they didnt tell us before we waited in line!But regardless, the ice cream is delicious!

We had seen some of the candy making videos on YouTube so we decided to make a stop on our way to Tampa from Michigan. We got the ice cream (flavors: Smurf, coconut, vanilla bean and salted caramel peanut). They were all delectable. We were also able to watch Greg make chocolate pomegranate droppings.

Lofty Pursuits is an amazing local gem in Tallahassee. Ive been going there for years and have always had a wonderful experience. I also make sure to bring family from out of town for a special treat. The variety of treats they offer make them standout. You cant go wrong with one of their delicious sundaes (my personal fav is the Mocha Evening) or one of their old fashioned soda fountain drinks (if you like sour, try a phosphate). I appreciate that they care enough about their customers and their community to continue to take safety measures against covid, including mask wearing.

The whole family enjoyed this wonderful treat! There were so many options of ice cream to choose from, and they all looked so delicious. My daughter was ecstatic over her ice cream cone with star sprinkles, and smurf ice cream. It was the perfect treat after the kids soccer game. I highly recommend them, and we will definitely be back!

My husband and I LOVE this place! We go for banana splits pretty regularly and we always try to bring first timers with us. The kiddos in my fam freak when they see them making candy.

100 year old candy making, ice cream made here, great breakfast, a game library to play with, separate party/meeting room and a great variety of old fashion sodas made with cane sugar. Terrible service my family and I had. Waited 30 minutes till someone acknowledged that we were there. The employees really didnt care and didnt want to be there. I wish the owner would higher someone who is good at customer service. They served my ice cream very sloppy in a paper cup and called it a sundae and let theyre sticky chocolate covered glove prints all over the cup

This store is staff friendly, i feel safe taking my children in here knowing that they care about the safety of my little ones, with them enforcing the mask rule let’s me know that my kids will be safe, this means a lot. the store is always clean, and the staff are great to work with.

We ran to Lofty Pursuits on a hot afternoon for ice cream. We were thrilled that they have vegan ice cream and topping options! We both ordered single scoop vegan vanilla with vegan ganache. It was rich and delicious! The scoop was generous as well and a nice portion of sweet without being too much. The only disappointment was we couldn’t sit inside yet. Otherwise, it was a great place to satisfy the sweet tooth!

Man I really dont know what else to say. If you want ice cream and ice cream derivatives then this is the place to go. Ive been a few times already. The staff is pretty friendly and there is a huge selection of things on the menu. They even have lunch and breakfast food, then start serving desserts in the afternoon. Ive had the grandmas apple pie sundae and the chocolate banana split. I was not disappointed! If you havent eaten here yet, and you like anything dessert based, what are you waiting for?

Fun and unique! Under one roof, an ice cream bar (shakes, sundaes, etc), a diner-style menu with sandwiches and snacks, and a game shop specializing in disc golf and board games. Theyve really upped their COVID game too - plastic sheeting hanging from the ceiling all along the service counter and rearranging the shelving so guests can browse and easily keep social distancing.

My elderly father is from New York and he always spoke of the legendary Egg Cream which has neither egg nor cream. They made one for him on the spot and he said, Thats it! He hadnt had an Egg Cream since he was a little boy so very cool for him! These guys can do anything with ice cream and treats.

Such wonderful, friendly staff and lots of great ice cream flavors to try! Great place to go for date night, with kids, or with friends.

The Nectar candy is legitimately some of the best candy I have ever had. Will definitely be ordering more from them in the future.
