I chose Artistic Confections to do my daughter’s wedding cake. Really didn’t know much about them except a few people gave recommendations. I am very happy with my choice! The cake was beautiful! It was a 3 layer cake with bottom having a strawberry glaze, middle layer was carrot cake and the top was red velvet. Let me tell you it didn’t last long! Super fresh and delicious! Artistic Confections will be my choice for ANY cakes I may need in the future!!

IF I COULD GIVE THEM 6 STARS I WOULD! Quick and responsive! Emailed them through their website and Maria responded within 2 hours and several times that day answering and asking questions. We had a 25th anniversary party. Had a 2 tier red velvet cake and a carrot sheet cake for our 70 guests. Everyone raved as to how moist and the great flavor of each! I sent them pictures of our flowers and they nailed it it. The cakes were beautiful. The gum paste flowers they created on the cakes were just like the pictures!Would highly recommend them over another competitor, who I tried communicating through email and phone calls over 2 weeks unsuccessfully.

I was in Tallahassee visiting family and we ordered a cake online through the Artistic Confections website. Not only did the cake turn out exactly as pictured, but it tasted incredible! The entire process from ordering to pick up was quick and easy. I would highly recommend Artistic Confections for your cake needs.

SEPTEMBER 2021Still THE BEST bakery! My daughter’s cake was AMAZING and exactly like the pic she chose. But did it taste good?…..YES!! In fact if possible I believe the cakes flavor gets better and better each time !Super happy with the cake. It wasn’t just beautiful it was delicious and our family was impressed! Everyone had fun and the cake was the perfect centerpiece for my daughter’s birthday table(I’ll add the photo) She turned 9 this year and we have had a cake from Maria for (almost) every one of those. Ordered a cake for my sisters graduation and they did an excellent job. I sent them a picture and not only did they follow the image to the tee but the cake was also moist and delicious!

Maria and her team are just absolutely amazing! I knew I was bringing them an odd request when I asked them to make me two grooms cakes, one in the shape of a golf ball the other in the shape of a bison. Yes, a bison! You could imagine their reactions. I was imagining just a chocolate cake cut out in the shape of a bison. They said that they did not think that would look very good and recommended a 3-D bison. I was hesitant but knew they were the experts so I put it in their hands. And oh my gosh, the bison was a piece of art. No one wanted to cut into him because it was just so perfect and gorgeous! All the wedding guests raved about the delicious carrot cake golf ball and chocolate bison for looks and the wonderful taste! I know my family and I are now sold on Artistic Confections for all of our future cakes!

Best wedding cake I’ve ever tasted and thankfully it was my wedding cake! They also made a small vegan cake for other guest and that was also the best I’ve ever had. I can’t say enough! Very easy going people and understand what they do to the point you can just relax and let them handle it. Very affordable for what we got and I will do any future cakes with them!

Contacted them by phone 23 days in advance, then by email 20 days in advance. Was told they needed more time to prepare the quote. Called again after another 3 days had passed. Maria FINALLY emailed me back but only gave me a partial quote. Waited another week for the remainder of the quote. Contacted them again by email. Then was emailed 2 days later in the middle of the night that they were booked and couldnt make my order after making me wait two weeks for a partial quote. Poor customer service.You gave me a PARTIAL QUOTE. IF you include ALL of the emails and not JUST the part you wanted to include. I sent you TWO emails. One informing you that you did NOT provide me a full quote, the other saying I didnt see the partial quote and that I can move the date to still give you 14 days as you stated you needed. Rather than provide me a full quote for EVERYTHING as you said you would, you sent me an email in the middle of the night stating you already booked my original date and didnt acknowledge the later date or that you failed to provide a full quote. I asked for 12 custom cookies you gave me 4 different prices for ONLY 10. I asked for custom petit fours, you NEVER provided a price for that. Like I said. Poor Customer Service.

Many at our party claimed this was the best cake they’ve ever had. It was beautiful also. Extremely happy.

This place is AMAZING! The shower cake not only looked perfect but it tasted just as good and you couldn’t even tell it was half the sugar as a regular! Highly recommend this place and the owner is such a beautiful lady on the inside and out! I hope I can have another excuse to come back here for sure!;)

My first experience using Artistic Confections was in 2014. For that event, Maria arrived to set-up the cajun-themed cupcake waterfall display. The guests raved above the cupcakes and the cupcakes were all eaten in less than one minute (true recount). In 2016, my order was delivered to my event in Atlanta. Again, the theme flavored cupcakes were devoured. The banana foster cupcakes arrived a little soft from the filling but the guests did not care. Maria offered to replace them but it was fine, it did not ruin the event. In 2017, a butter pecan cake was the hit the event hosted at Bonefish in Tally, such that the manager and some of the staff asked for slices. In March 2020, the gluten free pina colada cake made its way to an event in Atlanta and the guests were amazed gluten free cake could taste so delicious. In April 2021, at an event in Tally, the Elsa (Frozen theme) strawberry filled cake made a 7year old grin from ear to ear. And in August 2021, a peanut butter and chocolate flavored toilet paper themed cake will make its appearance for a sharp little 5yr olds day (by the 5yr olds request). I write this review to say, thank you for making a wonderful product for each of my events throughout the years. It is easy to miss the goal, however, for me, whether local or out of state, I have never been disappointed.

I am literally able to send Maria a text message picture of a $$$$$$ custom cake I found on Pinterest, and I get back an exact replica for 1/5th the cost. Unbelievable talent.

Maria is absolutely amazing with her craft! The desserts I have had have ranged from cookies to specialty cakes and all have been amazing! Having been in the bakery business, we tend to be a little critical when rating bakeries. Let me say that we were quite impressed with the talent, appearance and taste of the product at this establishment. We found the staff to be friendly and courteous. We recommend Artistic Confections as a place to find just what you want for your sweet tooth, party or wedding.

I rate and post often, great reviews and not so great. I believe in honest reviews, because we all want to have the best knowledge before shopping! I called to order my grandchild a outstanding cake for her special day, I dont mind spending a little extra for awesome!! I got an irritated vibe from the lady taking my order and was passed off to another person who took my order. When I arrived for my $75 8 birthday cake, I was kinda dissatisfied with the simplicity of it. It looked like a average birthday cake. So I said, oh well too late now, not much choice to say, Im not satisfied, right! And worse was when i cut into it and it was hard. It was dry and tasted like cardboard i am quite furious with the entire experience! If I paid $30 maybe I wouldnt be so upset, and how many awesome birthdays can we create before they grow too big to care! Shame on you Artistic Confections ! Im not sure you put forth any effort in this cake!! I should have taken my que from the first conversation!

I found this hidden gem while looking to get a birthday cake for my stepdaughter. We have since gone back for special occasions and sometimes just because we were hungry. The staff was always friendly and helpful even when I needed weird designs. All 3 of the cakes i have purchased were very well decorated and tasted amazing. I personally recommend the carrot cake. If you need to get your cake fix, this is the place.

As usual, I hit a home run with holiday catered lunches and amazing cake pop Christmas trees that Maria and Heather put together. At least 100 local smiling faces! This shop does the kind of work you’d expect in a major urban city, and I encourage anyone to go in their store and ask to see their work. This is a custom cake shop, not a Dunk Donut or grocery store. As with anything in life, you need to see (and taste) for yourself, and decide if custom work is what you’re after. The girls always sketch out and give me taste tests, and a follow up if I desire before the final date. They have always exceeded my expectations, and continue to impress all of customers. Go see them yourself for a consult. You’ll thank yourself later when you see the work!

Great Cakepop Christmas Trees for gifts!! Everyone loved them, the quality, and taste! I’m not sure why some reviewers don’t know the difference between a custom order shop and a fast food style, one small item walk in shop. But, if you’re after amazing and creative cakes and desserts for your event or needs, these girls do it better than anyone in the region. Just compare the pictures you see, their attention to detail, and taste. You’ll know why they are the best at what they do hands down when you do!

Whether I am seeking a specialty cake for birthdays, retirement celebrations, or baby showers, or simply dropping in for a sweet treat, the folks at Artistic Confections always do a great job. They are very talented and friendly. I stopped in today to tell them how much my friend enjoyed the two-layer casino themed cake ordered for her birthday. Not only was it moist and delicious. It was truly an edible masterpiece. One layer was hummingbird cake and the other was a strawberry the cream cheese filling, my friends favorites. It was so beautiful, she didnt want to cut it. While I was there today, I couldnt resist the freshly baked snickerdoodle and brown sugar cookies...yummy! Maria and company, you guys rock!

When I arrived, they were ready to be picked up and I received great customer service.I use red velvet cupcakes (because everybody loves these) as a promotional item in my marketing business.I know the product is good when my potential clients email me to ask the name of the bakery that made them. Good first impressions mean a lot to me, so I proudly shared the glory with Artistic Confections and referred my potential client to this bakery.I think it goes without saying I will continue to use Artistic Confections in my marketing campaigns.Good product, great service and lasting impressions. Let me tell you, Maria at Artisctic Confections exceeded ALL expectations we had for our wedding cake and grooms cake. From the tasting all the way to the day of the wedding Maria and her staff at AC have been so accommodating, genuine and detailed. Artisctic Confections has become our go to bakery for birthday cakes, sweet treats and even baking classes. We have loved getting to know Maria and her staff and we had so many compliments on our cakes, cupcakes and cookies at our wedding, not just presentation but taste as well. Best. Cake. Ever. !!!!!!

Once again, the girls at Artistic Confections came through with an amazing cake for my sons birthday. This year, his party was just prior to a big kids triathlon. In preparation to get psyched up for it, Maria came up with a great cake in Triathlete theme.The cake was a huge hit with the kids and parents, but the taste was the real winner! After the party, there was barley any left as kids and parents alike were going in for seconds. And Marias triathlon themed cookies as party favors was an amazing idea and very well received !Thanks again for your amazing creativity and hard work to make his birthdays special. He went on to win the Tri for his age group. I think it might have been the cake that gave him the extra motivation??Looking forward to the next cake!

I know the assistant personal chef here. A brief look at her Facebook page (Heather d’agostino) will tell you how deeply racist she is. She also keeps food in her fridge that has expired over 4 years ago, including meat in the refrigerator. Her eggs expired last May. She lost power after hurricane Michael for 5 days, yet still thinks this food is edible. She will not throw this out because she is a hoarder and has indicated that she believes the food is still edible. She told me she doesn’t believe in expiration dates. Photos of the rancid food have been provided, most of it expired 7 or so years ago.This is who you are hiring to bake your cakes. ETA: my review here is 100% honest. I have proof to back all of this up. And note how the owners response didn’t mention anything about their racism.

The only negative thing that I could possibly say was that the photo on their web site of the cake I selected was not very good, but that was the ONLY thing, this was a two layer chocolate cheese cake. EVERYONE at the birthday party commented that the cake was the best they ever had, comments like dreamy and terrific were used many times, the cake was a little lighter than most heavy cheese cakes, and that was one of the reasons we were so pleased. The folks there also did as we asked and used Splenda instead of sugar because the birthday boy is diabetic. I could go on and on about the service and the cake itself, but it would just be repeating what I already said. WE were very well pleased. HIGHLY recommended.

I had this company do a cake for my wedding in April 2017. I showed them a picture of exactly what I wanted. They assured me they could do it. They were to PIPE on icing to look like peacock feathers. They ASSURED ME they could accomplish it.Came in on my wedding day to see a 3 tiered cake with 6 pitiful, poorly done, crooked AIRBRUSHED feathers on just the front of the cake. Nothing around the other sides.It was horrible and UGLY. I didnt have time in my busy schedule to call and complain.....my parents just had to eat the $1600.00.I will NEVER use them again, and I tell everyone I know not to use them either. This still upsets me almost 2 years later.The grooms cupcakes were ugly and dry as well.Response to their response:What is the point to complaining sooner to yall. The only way you could have tried to make it right would be a FULL refund which I doubt you would have done. I also couldnt get you to redo it right and REDO my whole wedding day. There was just no point in complaining....what was done was done.All I can do is take the lesson I learned and share my bad experience to keep others from wasting their money.

I brought a small cake from Artistic Confection for my friend going away party( for her new job).Her party at BJS was awesome until we all begin to eat the cake made from Artistic Confection. The cake was so nasty we all spit it out . I was so embarrassed that NO ONE LIKED THE CAKE. We all had to order desert at the restaurant. Sad to say when I called the manager at the cake shop and explained how no one liked the cake and how disappointed I was she said there was nothing she could do about it...I WILL NEVER REFER ANYONE To Artistic Confections Inc. In Tallahassee FLMaria(Owner) need to invest in someone who have customer service to managed them ...Horrible...Horrible...Horrible...

I wouldnt recommend this company to anyone. Worst service I have ever received, we asked for a cake in the shape of a wine bottle and got what seemed to be a ketchup bottle. When we called to express our concerns they were dismissed and we were told “oh well you accepted the cake”. When asked how could they fix the issue we were told we have to accept the template as is and they weren’t willing to fix it after paying $430.00 for a horrible cake I will never do business with them again. The lady who answered the phone had the worst attitude and customer service.

I work for the company that installed their POS system, and she sent me a nice package with some of her delicious cookies and cupcakes! Shes a confections master and a good person to work with!

I wasnt going to post anything negative, as its been a while since I went to this business; however, I just enjoyed some awesome cupcakes from Smallcakes Cupcakery and thought Id check to see what others were saying about this place nowadays...some not so good experiences similar to mine:Went in because the sign by the road said they had cupcakes. When I entered, the glass case was empty and I asked about the cupcakes. They gave the same excuse, saying most were made to order and they had been busy. What a line! If you have a sign out that says cupcakes here, then you have fresh cupcakes in that case! So they said they could do some right then made to order. I watched as she pulled premade cupcakes FROM THE FRIDGE and poked a hole in the top of each one with her finger, then put them in the MICROWAVE. Really?! Then I said Id like butter cream icing and silver sprinkles.I took them back to my office and dont get me wrong, they were very nice looking. But when we bit into them, they were very DRY and we couldnt take more than two bites because the icing literally tasted like eating a tub of butter. Im not sure where they received culinary training at this place, but Id stay away if youre looking for a quality-tasting, FRESH product. Since they obviously are a catering company and not a bakery, the signs should be adjusted and the window blacked-out so they can operate simply as a kitchen and not give the false perception that they are a full-service bakery.

The Harley Davidson cake I had made for my husbands 60th birthday was perfect!

I decided to try a cupcake from here one day, a vanilla cupcake with buttercream. It was disgusting & not sweet enough. I took it back and the owner was kind enough to sweeten up the buttercream for me. It made the cupcake edible. I wont be going back. The ladies that take the orders are sometimes quite rude too.

I have been to this bakery twice and they were rude. All I wanted was a small treat on both occasions. A cookie, brownie, cupcake anything really. On both occasions the ladies working there were both haughty rude and unhelpful saying they didnt have anything. What kind of a bakery doesnt have a few items prepared for walk-ins? Food Glorious Food, Lucy and Leos, and Au peche Migion will be getting my business from now on. I wont set foot in a place with rude service and nothing to offer walk-ins. Plenty of better places in town to go.

Best Yoshi Birthday Cake Ever, Maria is truly the Tallahassee Cake Boss!

After the write up in the Tallahassee Democrat, I decided to give this new place a try. I got 3 cupcakes for $11 and change. My husband I divided them up and found that two were very dry, not very exciting, and less tasty than a box mix. The third was so bad we took a bite each and threw it away. I wouldnt recommend this place at all.
