This service promised to order and deliver a portable oxygen device so I could travel in comfort. It took their disorganized staff nearly two years to not only NOT deliver it, but to tell me it was no longer being offered by them. A complete waste of my time and effort.
Their Website is practically useless. Voice mail menu sends me in circles. When pressing another option, for inquiries, I am disconnected. This is concerning and to believe my health insurance is paying for this lack of continuity is absolutely disturbing.

I have been waiting on supplies since December, two weeks ago I spoke to customer service about my order on a Saturday and now when I go to call they are no longer open. They have billed me but still no product, This is what happens when you have no competition, to heck with customer service.The office here in Tallahassee hasnt fixed my machine that is taken in every year for the same issue yet Tallahassee Memorial Hospital continues to send their patients there, doesnt say much for TMHs customer service either.Should you be sent to this company ask for alternatives because this company simply doesnt care they have a monopoly furthered by TMH.
Don’t try and call this business. You have to go and bang in the door literally. It’s absolutely ridiculous. I’ve spoken to a live person one time.
Complete waste of time dealing with them. I arrived early and was not seen until 35 minutes after my appointment time. Therapist took me into a room that had cubicles with no privacy. You could hear everyones conversation. They were not prepared for the appointment as the therapist was trying to tell me what I wanted in supplies. After I realized that I was inconvenience to them I left. They were very unprofessional and uncouth...
I have been dealing with these people for 4 years and have had issues the whole time. Extremely long hold times. Promises to call back and deliveries that never come. Were taking our business elsewhere.
Good customer service, however they don’t have individual office rooms. There are a series of cubicles which allow everyone to hear EVERYTHING you say and some stuff shouldn’t be heard. They need to change buildings if they are going to be doing consultations. Privacy violations are not good for anyone.
I called and scheduled an appointment with American Home Patient (in April 2020) after being referred to them by my primary doctor. After I arrived at AHP for the appointment, I was happily out the door in less than 30 minutes with my new c-pap machine. The staff member was very professional, understanding, and courteous. She showed me everything about operating my new c-pap machine and she happily answered all questions that I had about the device. I was very impressed. Thank you so much, AHP!
Great service. Very helpful in communicating with our doctor for CPAP supplies and support. Minimal wait with an appointment and return calls within 24 hours. Kind and helpful staff.
My husband was a patient of American HomePatient for years prior to his death. Services provided by the Tallahassee branch office were consistently professional and we were shown great compassion by all staff members. I would definitely recommend American HomePatient without reservation. Their staff is knowledgeable and caring. Keep up the good work and thank you for being there!
Wow! Not even a patient, but a family member of a patient. Just experienced watching a privacy violation, for one. The communication here is horrible, in general. Why is there not a receptionist that can be seen??? A bell??? It doesnt say how to ring the bell. However, when its not rung properly a certain woman comes out very cross. Same woman that violated privacy information. Just, wow.
While I havent had an issue with your service directly outside of how slow you can be, can someone please explain why its necessary to call the family of a recently deceased patient, WHOM YOU ACKNOWLEDGE YOU ARE FULLY AWARE IS DECEASED, to tell them they are not eligible for something? 1. In point of fact he was eligible his doctors office just took their time getting you the order. 2. It could not possibly matter less at this point and you are being wildly insensitive to a grieving family. Will request my doctor to use any company other that yours whenever possible going forward.
I stopped using them in 2013 due to poor response. I decided to give them another chance last week. Called Tuesday 12/27 and was promised a return call not later than Wednesday 12/28. As of this afternoon 1/3 they still have not called. Of course they are the only game in town that accepts my insurance. Ill try them again in three or four years :(
They make you feel like they dont want to be there and they do not care about the people being refered for their services. A sign points you to sign in and wait. Waiting seems to be inevitable. No one is available to answer any questions. The person that checked out the pulseoximiter to me was supposed to train me in all things needed for the study. I was not instructed as she seemed more interested in getting me out the door so she could go home. I followed the limited enclosed instructions to the best of my ability.
My husband & I both have never had anything but excellent, friendly & great customer service for over 5 years from everyone weve dealt with hear at Am Home Pt. with all our Cpap supplies. Orders. We deal with new people every call, but everyone is well trained, knowledgeable & helpiful! Great to do business with!.Quick concise easy re-orders!
Ms. Darlene helped me with getting acquainted with my nebulizer. She went over how to use it and maintain it properly. She was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend American Homepatient to other patients.
Ive had a concentrator in my bedroom and a portable tank to use if I go out. My concentrator alarms occasionally. Ive NOT had machine checked or any new cannula tubing since Feb 2017. Ive requested it several times. This is NOT how patients should be treated! The concentrator is alarming for a reason or is defective...it should have been checked. Im a former nurse after 30 yes working...I KNOW u do not leave tubing with patients for SEVEN months!!!! No excuse for such sorry service!!!!
Awful! Prescription was called into American HomePatient on March 8th. They called back that afternoon to tell me they had received the prescription and that they would be in touch soon when my machine shipped. 1 month later after I hadnt heard from them I called and was told who ever had received the prescription had handled it wrong. He assured me that it was taken care of. Today, June 16th I still havent heard anything. I called, told my story, was put on hold. After 15 minutes, my call was disconnected. I called back, got the same woman, told her I had been disconnected. She insisted on starting all over. Once I had provided my name and DOB I stopped her and told her that if my machine wasnt delivered by next Friday that they could just disregard. She thanked me and hung up.
If I could, I would give them a -10, I would. The absolute worst. Most companies I have dealt with send you your replacement supplies automatically, not this one. I have been trying to get a replacement CPap machine since September. First they tell me they dont have the Docotors notes. Now they tell me they are too old. I have never been treated like this. You would think someone would call and tell you the notes are too old. They wait until you call them. No level of patient care. Garbage Company.
June 8, 2017 my husbands primary care physician referred him to American Home Patient; she told him they would call him for an appointment within a couple of days; 29 days later we still had not received a call. He called his doctors office who confirmed the referral was made on June 8. They gave him the name and phone number, he called and immediately was told the referral was sitting on their desk and that Jean would call him back. When she did call, she laughed saying that theyd been given the wrong phone number (was off by one digit) and the wrong name (John instead of Ron) so couldnt reach him; yeah, right. Since the doctor has known him for around 15 years and everyone IN that office knows him quite well, we dont think they gave the incorrect name and number. AND if that was truly had been the case, why didnt they call the doctors office for clarification. They obviously didnt care and too busy to follow up. So we made the appointment, picked up the testing equipment and its being returned this morning. Im giving them one star because they obviously care little for details. They really need to get their act together.
Avoid using these people at all costs. And they cost a lot. One foul up after another. Even when you go into the office they get it wrong! Your health will suffer as you wait light years for equipment they forgot to order or didnt have the prescription for and then, magically, when you call to follow up a month later, they have found that prescription! None of the home patient options in Tallahassee is good...but this is by far the WORST.
Their machine quit working 3 days after I received it. The fourth night it did not turn on at all. Called the next business day, only to be told that I, disabled and dont drive, would have to bring their faulty eqipment to them. Unacceptable. Will take my business elsewhere.
This is in regards to the Toll Free number -- you best make sure you write down the name of the person, date and time you talk to them. I ordered supplies for my CPAP and 4 weeks later they had not shown up. I called to find out why and learned they had not even been ordered!! Now I am a month off on my supplies.Also called the Tallahassee office and have left messages as we have been very ill since getting our CPAP machines -- so far no call back. TPC who sent me and my husband to this business is not much better.Very sad the quality of healthcare in Tallahassee, Florida!!!
I have received medical equipment twice from them. The representatives were prompt, friendly & very helpful both times.
Disappointed in their customer service. For some odd reason, they use CareCentrix to collect their billing. Carecentrix is horrible. They lose your information or dont send you billing, then they refer your account to yet another collection agency. Stay away from AMH as a provider for any CPAP needs.
Have been billed incorrectly and have not been able to get through on the telephone to resolve it. Have tried several times but just get the please stay on the line which after 10 minutes hangs up on you.
Not impressed. Very poor customer service.
