In the past, I have had very bad experiences with this line of work....Seemed to be a bad drum. Glad Alison was able to diagnose over the phone and Anthony was able to fix it quickly. A Dichrisopher Appliance Service and Repair was the 3rd appliance company we called. The other 2 did not answer. I spoke to Alison and she was able to get a tech out the next morning. My fridge was fixed in 20 minutes and my bill was 1/2 of what I thought. Needless to say, Im happy. We live in northern Tampa

Used Dichristopher a few months ago in my home for refrigerator repair. Was quite satisfied so when the refrigerator at my rental property was in need of preventive maintenance I thought of Dichristopher right away. When I called, the lady who answered the phone could not/would not give me an appointment eventhough I was giving her a week notice. She stated they cant make appointments that far out because she doesnt know where the truck will be. I told her I needed to give my tenants proper notice of service and felt a week was proper. She then asked for the tenants phone number but I was not comfortable giving that information and told her she could confirm with me and I would notify the tenant. She proceeded on to say that if she had a crystal ball she would win the lottery, she doesnt know where the truck will be that day and she doesnt have schedule made up that far in advance and if she did have a crystal ball she wouldnt have to talk to people like me and told me to find someone else and then she hung up on me. I do not feel I was rude to her, only asking for an appointment. I will NOT be calling Dichristopher Appliance Services in the future.

Anthony came out and was able to diagnose & repair my Maytag washing machine within 1 hour!! Showed up on time, professional demeanor, and didn’t waste any time. Turns out the lock was broken. He already had a “new factory” replacement part in the truck. For labor, parts & taxes- $250 and my washing machine is like new again… lucky for my spouse because I was about to buy a whole new washer/dryer set for $2,000… haha. Would definitely recommend this company!

When calling this business the representative answering was nice and scheduled the appointment for the next available date. THE technician called ahead of time to provide me with an estimated time of arrival and he arrived within the time frame and was prompt and courteous

Update June 21 -- Just found out the IU board part from GE cost $91 with free shipping. I paid $130, half the service call. Seems like a high mark up. I wonder if the company is still family owned.The older woman who answers the phone would do well if she listened more and did not get defensive. People become defensive when they know something on their end could have been communicated better. I have used this company before many years ago, and now as then, the service is excellent, the repairman was on time, clean and knew what he was doing. But because he had the part with him, it was also clear that he knew what was wrong before he came to my house. I had indeed explained the problem. It would have been more honest to state what the repair costs might be or give a range, because the low fee to come out can be misconstrued as the cost that would be deducted from the total labor fee. Of course times have changed and everything is expensive. But to pay a repair that is more than half the cost of the appliance is rough. I appreciate their skills and do believe its worth paying for expertise and good service, but I also would have liked the opportunity to know that DiChristopher knew before hand what was wrong and what it would cost. The woman on the phone was interrupting, she was defensive, said there was the cost of travel etc. But the point is, I think more often it is wise to listen to customers as it can help communications, which is always a plus. Grateful my dishwasher is working but if this part goes out again, Im having the thing yanked out and will handwash dishes. I also did not know that services are now taxed in Florida, but this state is costing more and more.

After some careful research, I found Dichristopher Appliance Service was one of the highest rated companies for overall service with the least amount of complaints (most of which didn’t even seem valid) in the Tampa area. I called Dichristopher Appliance Service to schedule an appointment for them to look at my dishwasher that was not operating properly. I called on a Saturday morning and was advised that the earliest appointment available was on Wednesday. As a family of four with two very small children, four or five days without a dishwasher is an eternity. When the gentleman sensed my disappointment he gave me a few gems of wisdom and explained a couple reasons why I may be having issues and provided some product recommendations. By Sunday we had fixed our dishwasher on our own without spending more than $10. I more than appreciate the kindness and free help provided by Dichristopher Appliance Service. It’s often difficult to find honest, reliable companies without a recommendation. We will definitely use Dichristopher Appliance Service in the future and will recommend them to others. Thank you!

Wow, what a difference a year makes, The last time I called them and a tech came out for a issue he was super nice and honest.I called today and asked the lady who answered that I had a question for the tech regarding the icemaker I removed to see if I would need a service call, she was very unpleasant and seemed annoyed that I wanted to talk to the tech, she said they are in the field all day what do you want? I explained to her what the situation was, and she said you lost me, a tech would need to go out and look at the unit to see if it needs a repair. I simply said thanks and hung up.Ill google my issue and call another company if I need service.Response: If that was EXTREMELY NICE to you I definitely do not want to deal with you when you are not.My review stands.
