This car was a challenge for the shop. They did excellent work but had to depend on BMW to recalibrate the timing. While at BMW things got complicated. BMW wanted money for a new hydraulic pump, then a regulator, then more trouble shooting time. John, the owner of the shop fought them all the way. Way above and beyond what I would have expected. He had the pump rebuilt himself, ordered a new regulator, only to find out BMW had no idea what was wrong. True USMC fashion, John stuck with it until it was right with no additional charges for me. Highly recommend this shop. Dont recommend BMW service!

John was absolutely amazing with his repairs on my 2012 Mustang Convertible. I had a horrible leak from the top and both of the leather panels on the doors were peeling from all the moisture trapped in my car. John replaced the top and redid the panels and my car looks better than it has in YEARS. He was very straight forward with pricing, length of time, and was honest & professional every step of the way. He went above and beyond cleaning up the car from the mold damage. I would recommend this guy to anybody who has any convertible or upholstery needs. His 5 star reputation is well deserved.

I just would like to say THANK YOU for a fantastic job in replacing the seat covers, arm rests and center console in my 2000 Jaguar. The workmanship is better than outstanding, everything fits the way it came from the factory. Customer service was just as outstanding, everyone made me feel I mattered. Thank you again, everyone. I will be back in March for my steering wheel.Came back to have steering wheel worked on. First time did not work, the used material did not adhere. John worked on it again after having the car for 4 days. The result is in the picture below. Have tried numerous times to contact him to set up another date, which he promised to fix the current problem, but no return calls. When visiting the shop, he was not there. Staff promised he would call. That was 2 weeks ago. Very disappointed.

I have a 1972 Chevy Nova Super Sport that I take a lot of pride in . I needed two new door panels installed with all new hardware, and a bench seat that was shot and needed rebuild . They got me in right away, did an excellent job, beautiful workmanship and i had the car done by the next morning ! I cant say enough about how they take excellent care of your project ! This crew is the BEST !!!

I am not going to provide a detailed timeline like Olivia Ledee’s review but my experience with John was similar in so many ways. This guy had my car for 10 full days to replace a headliner!! He did the job the first time with the wrong material in the wrong color!! That should speak volumes as to how well this shop is run. It is hands down the most disorganized, unprofessional and worst place that I have ever done business with. There is absolutely zero sense of urgency. The guy endlessly talks nonsense in making commitments that he will never keep if he even remembers what he commits to. I cannot fathom for the life of me how he got as many good reviews as he has but I think these reviews are for when his shop was open and not him working out of his house. When you start to get frustrated that he doesn’t keep his commitments and press him as to when he will be done he starts to personally insult you and make it out that you have a trust issue and should seek therapy. I got to a point where I simply needed my car back. I kept pressing him on the 10th day to simply get my car back. I even told him I would just pay him in full and just install the remaining trim pieces myself. He got enraged. He told me to go to the court because I was not getting my car back until he was done. He said he has OCD and would not allow me to just take it. Wow! Just wow!!! He also said he would just roll my car out into the street. I eventually wound up taking my car back unfinished because I simply lost all faith that he would complete the car anytime soon. Stay away – far away!!

I have a lot of feelings about my experience with John, so know that a lot of thought went into this review.First, when I called the number listed on this page, I thought I was going to be speaking with the actual upholstery shop at the location listed on said page. John picked up, and texted me the address to a totally different location, which ended up being his front yard. I dont see any pictures on this page of the John who worked on my car. Im not sure if this is just some honest mistake or false advertising, but it definitely wasnt something I would have been comfortable with had I known.He seemed nice enough and gave me a really good deal because I supplied my own soft top for the replacement job, so I went with it. The top came in a little early and he explained to me that he had another job to finish before he could get to mine, and he quoted me two days.It is now 3 weeks later. I just received my car last night. Here is the timeline and my criticisms:Sept.23rd:He had lost my keys the day after I gave my car to him, before he even started working on it. I understand that accidents happen, but when the day came for me to pick up my car, (the first time I was told it would be finished. Ill dig deeper into that later.) I didnt hear anything from him.Sept. 28th:I texted him to see if the car was finished, and only then did he call me to tell me that he lost my keys and hadnt even started.I had a vet appointment to make the day after. I had to pay out of pocket to get to via cab because of the delay, but he was professional enough to take the price of the cab off of the original quote.October 4th:There were multiple instances of John claiming the car would be done by a set time and then not meeting his own deadlines. This was incredibly frustrating for me. I want to make clear that I am a patient person, and it would not have bothered me to wait so long for my car to be finished if he had just kept his timelines to himself and sent me updates as the car was progressing. Instead, he would continuously tell me that the car would be finished by ___pm the next day or the day after. This happened more than 4 times, at least. It got to the point where I was tired of him not fulfilling his promises. I told him that I didnt need to know the ins and outs of why it isnt done, and to just let me know when it was finished to avoid any further frustrations.Oct. 5th:I ask him if there is any chance of the car being ready Friday of this week. John was upset by my frustration and accused me via text of making him out to be uneducated. It was incredibly emotional and unprofessional. Please remember that I have counted 4 different texts up until this date where I was told my car would be finished the following day, and it wasnt. I simply apologized and explained that I was not implying any sort of dig on his intelligence.Oct. 8th:I was told that my car, again, would be finished at 6pm. This was the night before I had to leave town for a long weekend. 10pm rolls around and he finally claims to be finished and that I can come pick it up in 45 minutes.I drove to his at 11pm and it wasnt done. I dont know why he allowed me to drive 20 minutes there and back when he could have just been honest with me. I was furious to have been given the run-around like that.He brought puppies out of his house to try and appease me, which was just downright insulting. I drove to his house at 11pm when I had a flight the next morning at 6am, just for him to have lied about it being done in the first place. I asked him if he would be willing to pay for my $15 cab to the airport that morning, which I felt was a reasonable request given the circumstances, but he was upset by it and refused.He promised to have the car done later that night, and it wasnt.Oct. 13th:My car was returned to me, finally. Dirty and covered in fingerprints. The weather stripping is cut poorly, it looks/smells terrible, covered in dog hair. I had to wait 3 weeks for this and Im not impressed, but he got his cash. You get what you pay for.

Nice, hard working men. Did my sons convertible much more reasonable than anyone we could find, and in one working day. I will be back, and not many places I can say that about.

The owner Jon could not be more genuine, straightforward or professional. I have a 2003 Hummer H2 that Jon and his crew brought back to new. They installed all 5 bezel pieces that make up the dash and center console as well as a new radio and A/C control. I also needed a new headliner which Jon suggested I change from tan to black in order to bring out the carbon fiber dash and console. I am so glad I took his recommendation because it really has that extra pop now. He also checked for any leaks prior to installation and was able to silicone one around a roof light and another around the antenna. Finally he took the doors off, reinforced some minor cracks and painted the handle pieces. Oh and I almost forgot, he added insulation between the headliner and roof for a cooler and quieter ride. I could not be more pleased and impressed with his quality of workmanship. I will be bringing all of my upholstery needs to Jon and his crew over at Auto Upholstery Unlimited from now on. It was money more than well spent and totally reasonable. There is no reason to look any further. You wont be disappointed!

Thank you to the past reviewers who recommended AAA Auto Upholstery. I had 2 seats in my Yukon SUV with torn leather from the wear and tear of 4 boys. I live in South Tampa so this location was not convenient for me. However, I took a chance based on prior reviews and am so glad that I did. John did a great job with recovering my car seats. He is very customer service oriented and even did the job on a Saturday so that I would not have to lose my car during the week. The price was fair and quality was exceptional. Since my previous review, Ive used this company again, this time to repair the headliner in my Volvo convertible. I received a quote from a Volvo dealer that was just outrageous to replace 8 clips at a cost of $879.00 and they said they couldnt re-use the clips I had. John from Auto Upholstery was able to complete the repair using my old clips and at a cost of only 175.00. Most important, the work was completed in an excellent and timely manner. I cant say it enough, John and his crew are phenomenal. Honest, fair and great results. What more can you ask for?=====================================================I highly recommend this company. I brought in my 2002 Chevrolet Suburban to have the seats reupholstered. I thought I would have to do both front seats to ensure they would match, but instead I was told there was no need to spend the extra money because only the drivers seat needed to be done. Wow...I own an 2006 Lexus GS300...both the driver and passenger seats were ripped and the leather on the center console was very worn. I brought my car to Auto Upholstery Unlimited and they very quickly gave me an estimate. They had to order the leather from California... when it arrived they called to schedule an appointment to do the work. I brought it on a Thursday morning and they promised it would be done by 5 the next day. At 2 pm the following day, they called and it was complete. I am still in shock at how perfect it is. It looks exactly like it did when I bought it new. Quality materials, quality craftsmanship, done well, done right and done on time. I dont think there was anything else about this experience that could have been better. Words cant describe how happy I am! I love my car again!!

For 12 years I have kept my Lexus SC430 looking as new as possible. My wife and I are from Ohio, visiting Tampa for the winter in our Motor Home. Contacted Auto Upholstery Unlimited to have are captains chairs re foamed.. I was impressed the first time I came in to get the seat of my truck re-upholstered. They took their time matching the material to the existing seat color. The installation went just as well and the newly covered seat looks great! Everybody I spoke with at the shop was extremely welcoming. I contacted my local BMW dealer to ask them if they could recommend someone to repair the leather interior of my 2013 535i. I damaged the leather while trying to clean it. Without skipping a beat they told me to call Auto Upholstery Unlimited. Auto Upholstery Unlimited does all of their interior work. If it was good enough for BMW is was good enough for me. Unlike some places that treat the leather or “paint” it Auto Upholstery Unlimited matched the grain and color and REPLACED the damaged pieces at a reasonable price. Took Audi convertible in for 1)top not going up or down, 2)top leaking badly around seals everywhere, 3)need top replaced, 4)interior needing reupholstered.John got top working electrically very inexpensively, took care of every leak and/or drip, replaced with old canvas with new for top, reupholstered seats and consoles front and back with leather, deep cleaned headliner and shampooed all fabric and carpet to perfection as well as cleaned trunk.All for incredibly reasonable price and as I look for any imperfections on any and all work done... John was awesome, really nice guy, and a miracle worker. I brought him my daughters 2001 VW Beetle, theyre adorable on the outside but famous for crappy plastic interiors, and the door handles on both sides would just come off in your hands. A total mess, previous owners had super-glued parts of the door panels, added screws and welding to others, you name it. John just needed two days to give it back to me looking like new doors, and at a very reasonable price. Highly recommend!

John reupholstered the seats on our boat. He returned them in better condition than when they were new -- they were plusher and covered with better-quality material. Best of all, John was on time and courteous -- a pleasure to work with. It is obvious he takes pride in his work and his word is his bond. While we dont expect to need boat upholstery for a long time, he also does dining room chair seats -- so that is our next project!

Absolutely Awesome Work! We had no idea what they were going to do to fix our Taurus dashboard that had totally curled up from the sun. We were referred to Auto Upholstery Unlimited by the service manager at Stadium Toyota, one of the biggest dealers in the region.Although the shop isnt much to look at, the service is great. We got an appointment for a leaky convertible roof immediately but feared a huge bill for a complex fix. Wrong.John, the boss, whipped out a couple of tools and solved the problem in 15 minutes of careful adjustment, Everyone was nice, including Max the cat. The job was perfect and the price was so right.Were happy to recommend these honest craftsman for a job well done.

They were very polite and truly seemed to take special interest. The job was quick and my convertible top looks great. The owner was very quick to call and give us any information we asked for with exact pricing. An overall satisfying and hassle free occasion.

We found this shop through Google, read the reviews, and decided to give them a call. We are so glad we did! Not only was John incredibly knowledgable, but NICE...that word isnt used enough. He came across as honest and genuine. He replaced the convertible top on my Mustang...and did so in a timely manner, letting us know what else we needed to do to finish the job well. When we arrived, on a sporadically rainy day, they were busy detailing the car. Beautiful work, honest and hardworking people, and the top is warrantied at a fair price. What a great find. I called around to a few places to replace the convertible top for my Mercedes and decided to go with Auto Upholstery Unlimited. After speaking with John, a fellow Marine, I knew I made the right decision. John and his team did an amazing job for about 1/3 the price Mercedes would have charged me. He ordered the same A5 Canvas that was used by Mercedes and the installation was nothing but professional.During the installation, one of the latch sensors went bad and John took it to the Mercedes dealer to get it replaced in just a couple of hours.The top looks great and comes with a 5-year replacement warranty. I highly recommend Auto Upholstery Unlimited for truly professional service at a tremendous discount from the dealerships.

My wife and I had our 1990 MK3 Supras seats re done in vinyl, they came out fantastic. We appreciated the large selection of material they carry in stock, the sample book was so convenient to flip through for reference of texture and we are very happy with the finished product. Well be returning soon to have carpet & seats done for our other car.

We recently had the convertible top replaced on our VW by these guys, and they did a fantastic job! The car looks like new: the fit and finish is great. Also, they reupholstered one of the leather seats in the car, and the leather looks great and feels better than when we bought the car. I highly recommend Auto Upholstery Unlimited!

I took my 1986 Mercury Capri to Auto Upholstery Unlimited to have my drivers seat re-foamed. Not only did the seat come out great, but the owner dropped me off to get some breakfast while I waited and picked me up when he was done with my seat. There is nothing better than Great work and Great customer service!

Dont pay $100s to try to clean or mask your mildew issue like I did... 2016 Mustang Convertible with terrible interior mildew smell that I paid hundreds in an unsuccessful attempt to remove. I found these guys on google, they replaced my interior carpet for a decent price. 100% Fix and in addition the car has that NEW CAR SMELL. No joking around, Great job.

Grade A Service. Sherri and John went above and beyond to help solve my problem. I have and 07 Honda Civic Si. My headliner just completely fell apart and left foam all over my car. I went to the shop no appointment or anything told them what i wanted and told them I had sort of a tight schedule due to school finals. John assured me they would have it done in time. I went to pick my car up not only did it look beyond amazing. The headliner and door panels didnt have one crease, they cleaned the entire interior for me and also let me have my unused fabric. Their service and workmanship is second to none. Going to refer everyone who needs interior work to these guys. A+

Horrible place. A corner of my head liner was loose, so i asked for a whole new head liner of a different color. They forgot my appointment even though i called the day before to confirm. Once i got my car back, they didnt replace the liner, only cleaned it and fixed the corner that was loose. There was previous stains on the liner that were still there. They rudely argued with me, lying and saying it was all new fabric. And also now my head liner is getting soaked when it rains. Horrible place. $220 later and now all i have is a leaky roof. ...Dont take your car there.

I did my research, both online and in person before coming here. NO ONE has a perfect rating and reputation online like Auto Upholstery Unlimited. And then I dropped by several upholstery shops in person, to get a quote on a very specific job. Every shop I went to told me the repair I requested could not be done; Id have to replace fabric with non OEM leather, deal with the headache of color matching the fabric, etc. Auto Upholstery Unlimited, however, told me that not only could the repair be done, but you wouldnt be able to tell it had ever been repaired afterward. And after picking up the car, I must say that they are true to their word. I wouldnt take my automotive upholstery needs anywhere else.

John was very helpful and up front with the cost of repair on my Hyundai Genesis. The work was completed fast and it was excellent. I highly recommend them.

If there were more stars, he would have earned them for sure. I have been stationed overseas and have seen a lot of interior/upholstery work done at some of the highest end shops. And let me tell you, what John and his top notch employees did is beyond my highest expectations! The work his team did is past exceptional!! I am extremely OCD about my car and the work done to it. So for me to go as far as saying his work was perfect would not be doing it justice. John, Shelle, Mark and the rest of the crew are by far the best people I have ever dealt with. Johns professionalism, going to extremes to make the customer happy, communication was second to none. But more importantly, he has the utmost integrity in everything he does and you cant beat that!!! This is not just a personal opinion but a professional one, THE BEST work you will find. I just had a very good experience with this company. I just bought a new to me Mercedes clk convertible. It did have a small tear in the top. I took it to one upholsterer who said it could not be fixed, had to be replaced!! I doubted he was being honest with me. Then I researched several upholsterers. This one was the first, and last! As soon as John saw it he told me it COULD be repaired. After giving me my options, I chose to replace the top. We set the appointment and it was more than worth the hour and half drive to him, and the 8 hours spent in Tampa waiting for it. They did a beautiful job, detailed the car when done, gave me an excellent warranty on it, AND charged me several hundred dollars less than the other place quoted!! John also gave me many tips regarding the care and maintainance of the top, and of the car in general. My only regret is that they do not do ALL car repairs, It is not easy to find fair, and honest and reasonably priced people to work on your car, especially if you are a single woman, with a fairly expensive car. This place is the best...thanks John and crew

John and his crew are very knowledgeable in what they do. Upholstery unlimited did a great job matching the existing fabric in my VW GTI when replacing the headliner. During this time they noticed my sunroof frame assembly was destroyed from a prior job I had done at the body shop. John went above and beyond to help correct this issue and ensured all the correct parts were ordered and installed correctly. I was referred to Auto Upholstery Unlimited by Jerry at Heights Auto Imports. Jerry takes such good care of my car and has referred me to other places and all have been excellent. Auto Upholstery Unlimited was great and no exception.My BMW X5 is in wonderful condition - but my two leather front seats were the only part of the car showing its age (it is a 2001) - and were getting uncomfortable.The leather used was BMW leather, and it completely matched my cars original leather. The stiching and padding used looks and feels like new, and has held up for more than nine months without any wear. I wish I would have done this a few years ago!Browsing the Auto Upholstery Unlimited website now because my boat needs some work. Now that I know they work on boats too, I will be visiting them soon for that.

I recently had both front seats and the center console reupholstered on my 2002 Jaguar xk8. John also removed all the carpets and pressure washed them. How can I describe it? It looks like a brand new car again.The price was terrific! I couldnt believe that they were willing to do that much work for that much money.If ever I find myself in need of this kind of work again I will not hesitate to return. Tremendous service! I had a leak in my convertible top and they replaced it. They saw defective pads and a defective cable and fixed them. Then when I came to pick the car up, there John was washing and cleaning the car inside and and out. Best place in the Southeast!!

I took my Jaguar coupe in for a failing headliner. Its a common problem in these XKs. John and I looked through the suede swatches and came up with a very modern fabric. The Jag has 6 pillars + Headliner. Not a very easy car to work on (everything is tricky on a Jaguar). I was expecting a nice clean look, but my jaw dropped when I saw how great it looked. Very very happy.

I went to this place to get my 2 front seats redone and wow is all i can say, it came out great there where much cheaper then BJs upholstery by $50 bucks i waited a little before i wrote the review to make sure everything will hold up and it has been over a few months since i got it done, and still looks brand new. getting my 2 back seats done here also in the future.

I took my 2000 Chevy Camaro rag top into Johns shop after I saw the great work he did on my fathers Mercedes convertible. After a brief phone call I found myself in the shop placing the order for a brand new top. A couple days later I dropped my car off in the morning before work, and Bianca, one of Johns employees, gave me a ride to work (She was very pleasant). After work that same day, I went to go pick up my Camaro. Upon arrival I was grinning from ear to ear at the sight of my Camaro. It looked better than it did 17 years ago on the dealers lot.
