They bought some of my books outright and would even sell others for me if they could not buy them. They would also allow book donations if none of the above worked. The price they offered was good. They were able to buy most of the books. Place looks a little haphazard but is organized. I recommend for selling your books.
It somehow feels more haunted IN A GOOD WAY than it used to? The shelves of books are very impressive. Keep up the good work yall!
I have had books sold for over a year now and the check is still pending. Its not a lot of money but basically I donated my books and someone is still going to pay from them. If I knew I would be cheated what little they were worth I much rather wouldve given them to a struggling student for free.
Friendly academic bookstore located in a shopping mall close to USF Tampa Campus.Has items used books and manuals and other literature placed by students free for the taking . Attendant can search store for available copies of used and new books for rental or purchase.
Purchased a book for a class online on 1/12.. Picked it up about a week later. While picking it up I questioned if it was the correct book because the title said it was a community college (cant remember which one but it was not local). Cashier said if it isnt the right one I can bring it back which I did on 1/27. I was not issued a refund on site and was told it would be done in a few days.. I asked the person (same one i bought the book from) to write that on the back of the original receipt which they did. Just called to inquire about the refund and now I am being told I didnt bring it back within the return time frame. I was never told there was a time frame to return it in AND would never have taken the book!! I was encouraged to take it because I could bring it back!! The book was returned unopened!!!
Never received my refund. Even after returning the book before the 30 day money back guarantee and calling numerous times to have the refund it processed.
Not likely to get a tun for old books but if nice that theylltake everything to donate if its too old. Also nice that its all online for changing your pricing and theyll just mail you your money whenever its bought
I ordered a textbook on 8/26/19, but it did not arrive at the store until 9/25/19 (after being told it would be 4-7 business days). Due to the delay, I had purchased the textbook from another store, and no longer needed it from BookHolders. When I asked to return it, I was told the credit would be applied within a week, but it never was.
I would never recommend that anyone sell online through this company. I have over $100 worth of books which sold in January and before. It is now 5/16 and I have STILL not received payment. I have been promised by multiple customer service representatives that a force print has been initiated and that I will be receiving payment with the next batch of checks, for over 4 months. Ridiculous.
The ONLY REASON I am giving them 1 star is because they have been without AC going on 3 MONTHS NOW!!! It is like a SAUNA in that store! They have 1 room fan at the entrance that does NOTHING. You can’t wait to WALK OUT! It’s cooler outside than inside, that’s CRAZY because it’s literally JULY IN FLORIDA! THATS ABUSE OF THE EMPLOYEES. They are so sweet! They don’t complain or anything! They provided great customer service to me. It’s crazy! I would have rioted at this point. FIX YOUR AC AND TREAT YOUR WORKERS WITH FAIRNESS- NOT LIKE SLAVES!! They should go to the EEOC for this treatment.
BookHolders sold my books 3 months ago and I have still not received payment. I have been emailing them for the past month asking for the $135 they owe me but they lie every time. For a month I have been told that the check was printed but it never arrives. Its disgusting that this company is taking advantage of its costumers. I am currently looking to take legal action and I will be thankful for any advice on this.
Wow!! I always save money here! One of the last books I needed for the fall semester was over $100 at the campus bookstore but I was able to rent it new here for only $47! You can always get a good deal here, every little bit helps, ya know?
Great deals on books, I havent bought textbooks here, just regular fiction books and memoirs. Was able to get 2 Stephen King novels, 1 Augusten Burroughs, 1 Dean Koontz and 2 books for my daughter for NINE DOLLARS. Cant beat that ☺👍
The website in the shipping options both said that my zip code qualified as local shipping which is at the latest the next business day shipping. So I ordered a product and then about three or four business days later I still hadnt gotten an email saying that the item was shipped. So I called in and no one can tell me why my product is taking so long to ship but it would ship towards the end of the week. So two business days later I got an email saying my product shipped and then later that day I get a call saying that my area code didnt qualify for local shipping even though the website said it did and thats why it took so long to ship. So then three business days later I got an email saying my product is shipped so I called the store. It turns out that my product didnt ship when they sent the first email. Its shift when they sent the second one. So its now 8 business days later that my product is finally shipped compared to the one day that I was promised when I order the product. I would not recommend this store to anyone and I wont be taking my business here in the future.
Fun stacks to wander, always find something to read, friendly staff, well stocked magazine rack, and they always have local authors books (directly across from cash register). Plus Im often checking the window for posted local events as I walk by.
Always good service and better prices then anywhere else. I tell all my friends to always buy from here just because there is friendly service and great prices! Would rate higher if possible.
Great prices for textbook highly recommend all USF students come here if you can for your textbook supplies.
Theyre very friendly, sometimes they have the best price. Especially when USF overprices their textbooks. Theyre currently selling a lot of books for about $0.05
Seen better days. It was great when I went to school around 2013 to 2016.
They suck! They wont say their policy is expired or send you any mails about it. There was a e-book that we brought and when we opened the box and put the code and everything. It turns out there was no e-book included...they didnt gave us a refund. Also, I brought rented 2 book and it passed only 2 weeks, I didnt used them and one of them, I had to wait for the book to ship to the store of Tampa, they didnt gave me not even $5. They want to keep $$$ thats all. Will never go back to this place. They are very unfair. ***Theres 24HR refund*** KEEP THAT IN MIND! OTHERWISE THEY WILL KEEP YOUR MONEY! DOESNT MATTER IF ITS ONLY $5
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. They explain the terms well and are pleasant while doing so. Many of my books sold right away! Sadly it takes way too long to receive payment. After a month Im still waiting for a check for over $100. Still Im pleased theres a place like Bookholders wholl help me find someone who can benefit from textbooks I no longer need.
BookHolders is a great place to get your books for school at a much better price than the USF bookstore. Some books arent the cheapest but the website is easy to use so that you can compare prices. The AC does not work well in the building so its hot in there and the line can get long but its worth it.
I had the misfortune of ordering online at this bookstore. I ended up not needing the book anymore and went through the return process. On June 3rd I got an email saying my refund would be processed. I never got a refund. I also called and the merchant and they said they see the refund processed but obviously that is a lie. They took the book back and kept the $100.
Was looking for books for my college student and when on the discount $5 Shelf at the checkout these books rang up at $0.05 4 cents and some books for free on a certain table I only had a dollar and they didnt have change so they just gave me the books free. The book I need they didnt have but could of ordered it. So if you go in there dont look at the bookshelf by its price just have them scan it it may be a lot cheaper. Many different books not only school books. People very helpful and was open earlier than on google for first week of school when students are hurrying to get there books.
Im not a big fan of this BookHolders. For one, anytime I sell a book here I always look at what they are currently selling the book for. I took in a book that they were sell for $50, same edition listed as on the website and the condition was pretty much new. They wanted to pay me $3 on the spot for it, and I ended up putting the book on consignment and got about $20. I know that this is a business, but seriously, $3. Second, they are so disrespectful to the campus. I have no problem with them handing out flyers to advertise, but when they just go into classrooms and leave flyers on all of the desks it makes the rooms a complete mess. Lecture halls are littered with over 200 flyers on the floor. Someone has to clean those up, and I never see a BookHolders employee come back in and pick up the flyers. Ive sat in a lecture hall after one class got out and saw an employee place more flyers on a desk, even though there were still 100s on the floor from the last class. So disrespectful to the employees at USF who try and keep the lecture halls looking nice.
AC does not work. Store feels like 90° or more.
If I could rate this company 0 stars I would. My fiance took her USF books to them and they were all sold. She then received a phone call stating that her check would be ready for pickup by the end of the week. She went to pick up the check the same day they stated it would be ready but an employee said that the check had already been picked up.They are supposed to check the ID of the person picking up the check, yet her check was given away, or stolen for that matter. The sum was over $200, my fiance got management involved and all they recommended was to do a fraud investigation (which we did). It turned out that someone signed and deposited her check.BookHolders said that there was nothing they could do about this incident and told her to have police investigate the issue. Disgusting experience and company.
Ive consistently had bad experiences here. Books I ordered were late. They failed to notify me when my books arrived. They took months to process a check for a book I sold on their website. The only thing they seem to be good at it is giving you cash for buy-backs.
If I could give this zero stars, I would. Another big business looking to profit heavily from a desperate population, I wouldve hoped to save some money by buying my books from here. However, the book I needed was not available. Fine. I ordered it anyway with rush shipping, which was estimated to be to my house in 3 days. One week later, I entered the store to ask about the status, and no-one could give me any answers. Their outdated and antiquated lookup system was down, so I left. Fast forward to the next week, when I went in again to check on the book. No answers. I asked for a refund, which was issued, but as the employee stated It wont happen right away, it may take a few days. They were unable to even give me a printed receipt for the refund. Fast forward two weeks and my refund was not applied to my purchase. I had to dispute the charge with my bank. AVOID THIS PLACE.
Friendly staff the place is clean. Good for a quick cash you can sell your school books and novelty too.
It’s was great even though the have used books with a cheap prices and actually you can sell your book to them, also you can find a used University books
I like to go to this store when Im in town but I dont think Ive ever bought a book there. Maybe a magazine. But I do like to go there and browse.
Left a book here to be sold and was never given any updates on it. When asked they said they had no record??? So they most likely just sold my book and kept the money. Used my freshman year and never again after that
Its not what its advertised to be
Both their website and sign store says they are open Saturdays and I just started my classes and have two test due 3 days into the class. I purchased the books online, went to go pick them up and no one is in the store because they are closed even though the website and sign on the door says they are open so now Im behind and have to to spend more money on books so thank you I hope no personever buys a book from you again.
Be careful when renting a book from them. I rented a book and only used it twice during the semester. When i returned the book they proceeded to tell me it was damaged, so I had to buy a new book to replace the damaged book. Sometimes their prices are better than competitors.
Terrible. They told me the only way I could sell my books would be to give it to them on consignment. My books still have not been sold. Horrible customer service skills. They are catty and snobby. Youd have a better experience selling them somewhere else.
They need more weekend hours leading up to a new semester. Besides that, they always have the books I need at a good price
Returned a book there THREE months ago and I keep getting emails that I haven’t. No one is answering the phone and now they are trying to charge me extra for a late fee??? AVOID THIS SCAM
This place sucks. They will not send you your money, I had to go through managers and managers to have someone tell me that they were holding checks. Go to the store before they mail out the check to get your money. I have been waiting over two weeks now when they said they would mail it to weeks ago.
If your going to sell your books here get cash on the spot. I listed my book with advantage and it sold over a month ago but I still havent received a check. Every time I stop by they tell me 2 more weeks (they only issue a couple checks, once every 2 weeks). Everyone else Ive sold to has issued a check within days of receiving/selling my book. Im all for supporting local business but save yourself the fustration on this one and avoid this company.
Nope. They dont have working AC or computer or staff basically everything is broken at this place. The prices are well above the competition.
Awful service. Went to return a book and they wanted me to pay $54 dollars because they said it was damaged. It was in the exact condition I received it in, manager ended up giving me my receipt and walking away after 20 minutes of me refusing to pay.
Over all, disorganized. A few previous calls to this place (Tampa location), and only a few times was the receiver professional. Even calls to corporate, get left unanswered during Working Hours. They are not good in communication (did not send emails to verify delivery of books) and strangely do not give receipts for canceling orders/refunds. In addition, the refund I was to get has not arrived after two weeks of canceling an order (corporate issue I guess). Save yourself a hassle.
I love this place!!! Better prices and better customer service.
Be careful when renting books from here. They made me pay 75 dollars for a USED religions textbook (along with the 25$ rental fee its is about the same price as a new textbook) because of wear and tear damage. They also didnt tell me that if there is any concern with the condition of the book when you get it(like a worn out crease on the spine of the book that could lead to the cover of the book coming off) that i would have had to call them when i got the book so they could make a note of it. I basically had to buy a book they deemed in good condition ( as to why they have such a subjective process, i will never know). However, the book they brought out for replacement was in MUCH worse condition then the one i returned. It honestly felt like i was getting cheated. If you can find a place thats cheaper go for it, if you cant, still stay away from this place or just buy the book.
My perspective for this store has dramatically changed! Sure they have very cheap prices (I found a paper copy of a text book I needed for less than a $1) but theyre only in it for the money! I have had experiences where Ive bought things I dont need or wanted to return something but they do not even ask about why you want to return the items. I rented a textbook last semester and when I returned it, I had to pay $55 for a new book because the one I rented had water damage that wasnt even on pages people would read. At first I agreed with them but when I went to return a rental to the USF bookstore, they were much quicker in checking for damage. This place looks for damage like theyre trying to find a needle in a haystack! Sadly. this store values dollar signs instead of customer satisfaction. I understand money keeps a business open but you will never make the profits you want if you take advantage of potential customers. I dont care if I spend more money elsewhere, I will never use this store again!
This is a great place for college students. Prices are great.
Only store in town to have my text book!!! Even my own college book store didn’t have.
I have never left a business so frustrated. I ordered a brand new book from bookholders, and when it showed up, it was damaged. I was paying the price of a brand new book, for one that looked like it had been used. There were scratches all over the cover and back, as well as a rip in the bottom from the delivery process. I spoke to the shipment manager, who told me there was nothing he could do for me besides return the book. I need it to do my assignments now. So now Im ordering another book from somewhere else. They should have at LEAST given me the used book price. And the management was no help at all. There is no management. There isnt a corporate office or anyone else that I could have spoken to besides this 18 year old shipment manager who had no idea what he was talking about. They are running a business, and I payed full price for a damaged book. By far the worst costumer service I have ever experienced. If they have a used book to buy, see it first. Do not EVER order a brand new book from bookholders.
Re: CASH-PAYING customers are....DISCRIMINATED AGAINST....at the BookHolders, Tampa, FL storeThe Florida Department of Revenue declared August 7 through August 16, 2015 to be a Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday. As such, NO SALES TAX is to be collected on certain school supplies.Additionally, the Florida House and Senate passed a law providing a 1 year sales-tax exemption on all college textbooks, beginning July 1, 2015.This law doe NOT stipulate that tax-free college textbook purchases should be limited strictly to credit card purchases!I was just at the BookHolders, Tampa, FL store to purchase two books with cash. I was told that unless I paid by credit card, I would be charged sales tax. This is DISCRIMINATORY, AND it is ILLEGAL.!!! CONSUMERS BEWARE !!!(I opted to purchase my books elsewhere)
I had one spot, smaller than a dime, and these jokes wouldnt buy a book because of it. You cant even see it but it has a wrinkle from water damage . Do not sell or buy from these people unless you want to be ripped off. If I had any other choice in tampa I would go there immediately.
So annoyed. Book was on back order and i was just waiting around to hear from them. Fortunately I went on to discover that the book I needed for class hadnt been mailed so they gladly refunded me.
Great place to make and save $$$ on used text books
Very helpful staff and a great place to make some extra cash. In a digital world lets keep books alive!
Good prices on used books
I love to sell my books here.
I would advise not selling your books through the Advantage program if you want to receive the check within a a month or two. Ive had my books sold for over a month, and I have yet to receive the fair share.
This store held my books for months before offering me cash. They did not notify me of my books being sold at a lower price!
Great place to get school books.
Quick and easy service friendly staff
Good selection of books to buy, and cheaper than the college bookstore. Unfortunately, the money they give for selling them books sometimes feels a little light
Books are so much cheaper than at the USF bookstore!
This place has a lot of great books at great prices
Came here to pick up a textbook rental. Store was supposed to open at 9 AM and its now 9:10 AM, still standing here waiting for employees to show up...EditIts now 9:21. 2-3 other customers have also come and gone but still no employees. Terrible service.
Best prices for USF books.
Customer service lacking, information provided over the phone was not accurate when I arrived to the store.
I rather drop out, get a f in all my classes than rent, sell or buy from this worthless place
Nice store with lots of selection
Great service depending on who u get
Its actually no that great. I thought it was supposed to be cheaper than a bookstore but there was no significant difference
I was sent an email saying that one of my books had sold & that if I couldnt pick up the check it would be mailed to me a week later. . .its now an entire month later and I still have yet to receive a check. I reached out to their support line, no response. So basically what theyve done is sold my books & made a profit without giving me anything.
Always check here to compare Book Prices to that of USF and I always get a deal!!!
I came to return a book and it took forever, and no one out of the 4 reps that was there know how to return a online order plus they kept the money for the shipping fee smdh.
Well they dont even have a bathroom so that kinda did it for me.
Check prices here before the USF bookstore then compare
Thanks for all the help
Old place, not good service
That place is a mess.
Check their online stock before going there.
Did not have the books needed.
I will always buy my textbooks from here in the future.
Absolutely horrible customer service. Want to save money? Buy from amazon.
Its the Gamestop of textbooks
Love this place
Fast service
The binders are cheap.
Perfect
Way over priced!
Sold many books
Sell and buy books!
Great place
Awesome
It is what it is
They solved me find what you need here I give them 5 stars
