Popular place, for sure, and understandable why. Great selection of food, and as a vegetarian, there were plenty of options. Prices were very reasonable, staff friendly. Inside dining, and there are some tables outside as well. Nice place to have breakfast! Recommended.
Looking for a place to eat on Sunday most the places were closed, seen this place,WOW ! the food is great, staff very friendly, green chili is excellent, keep up the Great work.
Food was exceptionally good! Service was attentive, but not intrusive. Clean, low key local place. I would recommend this place to anyone no matter their taste.
I was staying in Taos for a night and found out about this diner by Googling vegan food. We arrived at 8:30 and were the last to be seated before a big rush - so just be aware if you don’t want to wait you should arrive before 8:30. We were seated outside which was very hot and in direct sun. But! That was all okay because the food was great! I’ve had many a bland tofu scramble from an omni diner and this one was so flavorful. You can just order the tofu scramble without feta and if you add a side of chile it’s soooo amazing. Very happy I got to try this place out.
Great staff and delicious food. We tried several dishes for breakfast and lunch. Not disappointed!
So glad we chose to come here. The food was great. I opted for the sweet potato fries instead of home fries with the tofu scramble and I think it was the perfect choice. Huevos rancheros and cinnamon roll were really delicious as well. The only reason I choose 4 stars is because the use of plastic and styrofoam was very excessive - even though we (2 people) dined on the patio they still brought 4 sets of plastic cutlery.
Short staffed has not slowed nor altered the quality of service or food at the Taos Diner II. This diner has top quality breakfast and a system that works. Yes it may take a few extra minutes, but its definitely worth the wait. Thank you for excellent, quality breakfast during our Taos stay.
We ate lunch here and liked it so much we went back the next day for breakfast.
The first red flag when we walked in was the nasty and sticky floor with trash on it. The second was not getting service or waters for five minutes. Their menu was also outdated and had a bunch of stuff crossed out and prices changed in sharpie, I don’t think it is that hard to print out new menus. After waiting for our food for thirty minutes, they finally told us it was going to be another 15-20 minutes after we had to hunt them down to ask what the hell was going on. Not to mention they didn’t ask to refill our coffees once. I would say don’t waste your time here unless it is the only place open and you are going to starve to death.
The Chilli berger with shoestring potatoes will knock your socks off.
Drove 3 hours (180 miles) to satisfy a craving for Papas & Huevos w/red and green chilies! Worth every mile!
This is a great little place in Taos. It’s busy and worth a bit of a wait for breakfast. Staff is really friendly and happy. The atmosphere is relaxed and you can just sit back and enjoy your meal and it’s just a great place to be. They have a stand in the corner when you walk in that is full of toys and books and crayons to help entertain the little ones so they can enjoy their visit too 😊. Everything is fresh made from scratch and the biscuits are fluffy and delicious. Eggs Benedicts of various kinds, corned beef hash, plus lots of vegan and vegetarian options and southwestern flavors for amazing omelettes and breakfast burritos with options for smothering them in green or red chili. Rellenos and enchiladas with eggs and homestyle fries mmmhhhhmmmmm!!!!!
A day or so after Taos County hit green status we went for breakfast. So, so good- breakfast burrito for Deb; I had a biscuit with sausage, 2 eggs and gravy. Fresh coffee to top it off.
Service, Food and prices great....just the restaurant itself needs some improvement in cleaning, furniture and decoration. We would definitely come back!
Amazing breakfast. This was a lucky find for us.
Not only was the food good, but the staff went the extra mile when my Oklahoma daughter left her purse there. They shipped it to us promptly!
Big portions and high quality. The staff was very friendly and worked very good with each other.
The portions are huge and I still finished everything on the plate... so yeah, its that good.
Has a small town Mom and Pop shop kind of feel really nice the staff is wonderful we had to wait a little bit but the service was great the food was delicious and everyone was warm and welcoming a little bit pricey as they added one dollar to everything on their menu but I think this is for covid so I cant blame them
Great food and great service. Parking in back a little awkward with Uhaul trucks coming and going.
No flavor in the food do not recommend !!!
Excellent food and service. They have a menu with a modest but good selection of vegetarian options as well as traditional comfort food and New Mexican food. The food is consistenly good and the servers are attentive but not over-bearing. Would definitely recommend.
Good food, good prices, what else do I need to say.
Just rolled through Taos looking for a relaxing breakfast and I think we may have found our new go-to spot. Food was great and the staff was even better. 10/10 would come again.
Great vegan options. Both the breakfast burrito and tofu scramble can be made vegan - and are delicious and filling. Red and green chile are also meat-free.
The place was great such good food and Robert the waiter was very friendly
I want to try everything. Great food.
Nice little place to eat. I brought my mom to the hospital and wanted to find a place to hang out while waiting. They have 6 tables on the patio where that are seating patrons during COVID-19. I got the tofu scramble and it was great! Friendly staff, too.
I loved the food here every time I come the food is fantastic and the service was amazing, the place is clean and feels very welcoming
Great food and friendly service!
Great food!
Awesome food great service
Its great depending on who is working and cooking there. Melissa is great. Have experienced a lot of attitude in many of the other employees. I assume they want to party hearty, as opposed to being responsible employees.
Great food and great service.
Great food and delicious specials. Good selection of gluten free and veg options. We ate the veggie tamale breakfast special and loved it! Also great coffee and excellent service. Our favorite place in Taos for breakfast. We keep coming back.
My wife and stopped in and had a very good breakfast. We felt the service was quick and polite. We will go back and enjoy another meal there.
Good place to eat!
We ordered a large take out order. The food was so unexciting and bland. Tried both red and green chili sauce, breakfast and lunch items. Everything tasted like it was made without any seasoning or spice at all. If you are visiting from somewhere and wanting a nice flavorful experience of what southwest cooking is all about save your money and go somewhere else with better and more flavor in their food.
The service was great. Very efficient staff. Food was so delicous. We went back for breakfast twice before we left to go back to Denver. Keep up the good work. I really enjoyed this special friendly place.
Giving Taos Diner II two stars ONLY because the coffee is delicious, but unfortunately, I will never go back. While the food was good, I found a long blond hair melted into the cheese of my dish halfway through. I informed our waitress and she clearly could not care less and did not even offer an apology. I can’t recommend a food establishment that doesn’t care that their dishes are going out with hair in them.
Kept us full all day until dinner. Corned beef and hash was great, papas with eggs were good. My only complaints were the menu said pure maple syrup and it was clearly imitation and the busser lady tried to put water in our Sprite four times, even after telling her several times that it was Sprite
We have had breakfast here twice. The good was very good both times. If you are a tea drinker, there is a lovely selection of teas. Outdoor seating is limited.
I came each morning with my Military Brothers for Breakfast before hitting the Taos ski slopes. The Diner was so helpful and a joy to help in our start for the day. The waitresses and cook made or stay wonderful each morning we came. I would recommend this Diner to anyone coming to Taos, hands down
The best corned beef hash
We didnt stay.
Good home-style breakfast. A fun friendly atmosphere. Everyone was super nice.
The local diner that serves all the standard dishes with just a flare of the Southwest. The staff is courteous & friendly. The food came out fast & if you have to wait a bit, relax its worth the wait. The food is very good.
The coffee was so good I didnt add my usual sugar and milk. Breakfast burrito was good and huge enough to hold me until dinner. -1 for lack of decent outdoor area, as the diner is right on the main drag. We had our dog with us, so we had to eat outside. Service was good and friendly.
Yummy and cute. I think its a good local place to stop.
First time here and the food was great. It was very busy thats why we stopped. I had the California club and it was excellent. Parking is a little tricky but I imagine thats the new for this area. I would definitely go back.
Quaint soon on a small diner. Food was good and so was the service.
Taos diner has amazing breakfast food for a great price, the staff is very friendly, and truly gives you the full dining experience. This dining experience I speak of is the home like, local feel with food that feels as if it is made with love. The owners have put lots of work into Taos Diner and have done an amazing job. If you are a local or just a tourist you must visit this wonderful diner.
Great Breakfast and Lunch. Espresso, Coffee and anything else you need to start your morning off with. Staff is VERY friendly. Great locals spot. Family friendly. A++
Lovely small diner. Seat yourself at a clean table. Food is good, heaping and inexpensive. Its a great place for breakfast.
Awesome Diner. Went out of our way to visit again. Corned beef hash was the best!
The best food that I have tried
Wonderful food and great service
Waited about 55 minutes after ordering and still didnt get our food, we were told the kitchen stove had problems, although everyone else were getting food. We walked out and wasnt even noticed. Went to eat at I-hop, great service there!!!
Just amazing. Had the spicy turkey sandwich, wife had salad, both were perfect. Even the dressing was full of flavor. And they make a fantastic Expresso. Will be back to try more dishes.
After a 25min wait our food was Luke warm had to ask for Tea 3 times it really wasnt crowded were getting food orders mixed up with tables. Will give it a 2nd chance.
AVOID this place! Zero customer service and the owner Jay is a prime example. I called to let the owner know of the experience I encountered today. He could not have cared less! I have lived in Taos over 30 years and feeling that it is OK to have your customers wait 45 minutes to be served their meal is a big NO! There are a lot of great places to eat in Taos, this is NOT one of them. The food is just not good enough to wait 45 minutes on a Friday at 11:00am!
The French Toast was awesome
Delicious food and reasonable prices. I had the Denver Scramble and it was fabulous.
Go here if you are hungry. Like really hungry! Huge portion size and awesome breakfast. Nice staff and alot of local art to view.
Friendly staff. Breakfast was fair. Biscuits and tea were cold. Best cinnamon rolls all round.
First time to eat here, visiting from Texas. Food was very good and fresh. Friendly service. Highly recommend.
Stopped in for a quick breakfast on my way out of town and was blown away by how good the food was. The menu has a nice selection too.
Good place to dine if you get before they close.
One of the best breakfasts ever had. From out-of-town and stopped here on a lark...did not disappoint. Highly recommend.
This may be my first review ever.Ive been coming here for years. 2 visits in a row now, and the service is totally rushed, short and actually rude. And the food is true slop. Rickys down the road would a step up.
Fantastic little dinner with absolutely delicious breakfast burritos. I highly recommend visiting here, I came in hungry and was thoroughly satisfied
Good food, huge portions (including the cinnamon roll), very reasonable prices. They will not split checks so plan accordingly.
Gravy over an egg, over sausage, over a biscuit is one of the best things ever but they just dont get it right here. Pancakes are huge but not worth finishing. The front was understaffed but doing a good job trying to keep up.
Inattentive staff that bordered on rude combined with bland, mediocre food made for a disappointing visit. Had heard good things about this place, but we both were very much underwhelmed. This was the only bad meal experience we had in Taos. Wont be returning here.
Stopped in for breakfast because there was parking right in front and was impressed by everything. The service was great and and the food was tasty. You know that its a good stop when it is filled with locals that are laughing and enjoying themselves!
Great food and service
Decent food, friendly staff
Great Red sauce. Fresh potatoes.
Krazy
If youre visiting from out of town and want some home cooking
Service was alright, food was not as good as I expected. Only one Bathroom in the place and we happened to be seated right by it and it was a distraction because one person after another was coming and going. The Bathroom was for men or women, just stupid, Ill never visit the place again.
Really good food, big portions and awesome staff.
We walked out? Because we didnt tip her? The last Sunday we went there. She never came around to get coffee! Always had to call for her? For everything! She never came to ask! And a bad mouth!
Great place. Lots of great options for different types of people. Been a favorite for a long while
