Erik and selina are some of the nicest employees at a very wonderful shop that I have had the privilege to meet and a very long time. Ive only ever been able to shop here online (and its one of my favorite art supply stores). When I found out there was a physical store near where I was staying in Arizona I was ecstatic. Great store, super friendly staff and of course great prices.

Great store to buy copic markers. They have almost every color, but unfortunately I often have to buy a specific color on Amazon because I feel like they rarely restock. Which is why they dont get a full 5 stars. I also wish they had a small seperate table to test out the markers, I often have to try them out on the cash register counter and it gets super awkward when I have to move out of the way for people to get rung up.

At the Tempe AZ location, useless dunderheads work there with absolutely 0 sense of customer service or the spirit of helpfulness. The worst employee was someone named Aspen... because of course her name is Aspen. 1 star is the lowest Google ratings will go but they are worth 0 stars / 2 thumbs down. I was directed to this store by a class syllabus but Blick does not deserve the business at this location, based on the overall staff attitude. Erik was awesome though. Be forewarned.

I used Blicks to frame a vintage movie poster and Richard was fantastic to work with. He made the process extremely efficient and also made sure to educate me throughout the process on best practices. Highly recommend!

This place is like heaven.

I highly recommend CHECKING YOUR BAGS prior to leaving store. It is a headache getting them to believe that they did not give you your supplies. They will check cameras and also interview their personnel to verify if they did not give you your supplies. after they verified on camera and through their employee that they did not give me my spray paint caps that I purchased they only refunded my money and apologized for inconvenience but did not offer any kind of discount other than creating uncomfortable environment due to them making me feel like they did not believe what I was telling them to be true. Before you leave store check your bags and receipt. if all it takes is for their employees to say they gave you your supplies to cover their mistake then you will be S.O.L.I will not be returning also I will not recommend this spot to anybody you are better off going to Artarama located right off the 60.The store is stocked and I know the students that shop here are what created the atmosphere. I.e stealing/thievery/lying.

I’m happy to pay a few cents more than online shopping in order to be able to touch and feel my supplies - especially paper and brushes. I wish they had a better selection of watercolor panels but it’s not a deal breaker. The employees are helpful and seem to know the products well. This is my favorite place to spend a gift certificate.

By far my favorite arts supply store. Far superior to the Chain Companies like Michaels or hobby bench. And even tho the store isnt the biggest with the most inventory on hand their on-line options are very fast, convenient, and grant an unexpected peace of mind I dont get shopping else where. This place has all the supplies your artistic mind could hope for... outside of the truly extravagant or bizarre.The staff are outstanding. Theyre knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and patient, which is a collage not often found in one staff member, let alone every one of them.The selection is much more vast and varied than in any other store Ive encountered in the Valley, granted, I havent been to all that many as of yet. I can easily say though, that of the 5 or 6 other places Ive been to which advertise themselves as facilitators of art supplies (no need to mention names), Blick Art Materials has em beat in the areas that matter most; selection, price, staff and proximity which, being located on East University in Tempe, isnt a big trek for a large portion of us in the greater Phoenix area.

Regarding an online order from Sierra Vista Arizona Would like to give a better review. Ill tell you the good part first. They have excellent customer service when you are ordering they can tell you more than any other supplier. However my order came and it was not what I had expected thats okay. Heres why they only get one star and I will never purchase from this company ever again. Returns are beyond a nightmare they make it painful and difficult this was my first and last time with blick. So easy to purchase and so difficult to return. My order was an online order since I do not live in the valley. However if there was a retail blick store within 100 mi of my house I would have gone there but there is none horrible experience

I got cancer last year and the COVID thing hit so I was sitting at home a LOT. After 50 years from my last serious artwork, I decided to start drawing again at Inktober to pass the time. I bought a bunch of pens, paper, etc. at Blick, then I posted some drawings on Facebook and got rave responses. Short story, Im now selling fine art prints and Blick is printing them for me. Richard, Rigo and the staff of the printing department have become my friends, mentors, and cheer leaders for my work. Their printing is top quality, the customer service and relationship with them is ten stars if they allowed that on Google Reviews. Thanks, guys! Youre the best!!!

I was so happy to find this store because they sell individual soft pastels. Its really great to be able to personally select the colors I want. I havent found any other shop that sells single items like this. I believe they also have single colored pencils and oil pastels. They have a pretty big selection of colors and brands. Its great if you need specific colors and dont like buying the boxes full of colors you wont use.The Blick store is smaller than certain other craft supply stores, but they make up for it by carrying items which I have had a hard time finding elsewhere.

Shopped here since my asu years. If you buy canvas please buy it in person. Two out of fours canvases I’ve bought online (since COVID started) been shipped damaged or loose. So irritating.

Blick has an amazing custom framing and printing department! An extremely large selection of mats, frames, and glass options. I was amazed they could do special mat cut shapes. Very fast and even had in-store frame supplies to make it even faster! I highly recommend.

Their store-branded sign says you must wear a face mask OR face covering.A friend of mine and her son, who has autism and anxiety (he will wear a face shield for these situations) were in the store for about 10 minutes to get supplies for his art class. At which time the store manager came up and said that they have to leave because hes not wearing a mask even though their own signs say OR face covering. She mentioned this and the manager said well our interpretation of face covering is not a face shield and unless he put on a mask they would have to leave. They had already been in the store about 10 minutes and were almost ready to check out.This manager caused such a problem that other customers were stopping to see what happened. PLUS their own signs say they will stay 6 feet away from customers but she was about 2 feet from them for a good 5 minutes arguing about it even though The sign was pointed out and that he was complying. If they would have just let them go about their business, they would have been done and out of there as happy customers. Instead theyre both upset, crying, and Incredibly angry. It was NOT ok for them to treat any paying customer that way!!!!They harassed an autistic boy, when the governors orders CLEARLY state medical exemptions are part of the mask mandate. You have to be almost heartless to treat a child this way, let alone harass their parent, not only in front of the child, but other people as well! This is AWFUL behavior. Shame on you!

Great place to go for all your art supplies

I came here for the first time, browsing for a new sketchbook and pencils. I was impressed with the overall quality and organization of the materials. The clerks were very attentive and knowledgeable. I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of money I ended up spending--lower than I expected. Also, they offer a free rewards card & discount program for ASU students--bring your ID to show for it.

I recently went to blick to get some art supplies and I came across an employee named Richard who was very arrogant and rude. He was no help at all and didn’t seem to care about helping me. I will not be going to this location of Blick with this horrible experience with Richard. I want someone who is willing to help me and not dismiss me. This is unacceptable. Please talk to him about his behavior because Im sure Im not the only one this has happened to. Im rating this a 2. Not because of the actual store or the other employees but because of Richard!

Blick is one of the art shops that does not get as much recognition as it deserves and I think any local artists or traveling artist should stop by Blick in Tempe! It has amazing art products and tools in the most helpful staff that are so excited to help any customer that walks in. They have art studios on selected dates and also a discount for college students available. What could there be about this Art Shop that any artist would not love?

Absolutely love this place. Ive been going here for about 5 years now and have never had a bad experience. Management really cares and takes an interest in what youre doing and needing. I needed a design kit for ASU that they were already sold out of, and the assistant manager (whos shift had just ended) spent his personal time to ensure that myself and another student had everything we needed. Their stock is a generally high, but inexpensive quality. Best for beginner, intermediate, and experienced artists alike.

Its great to have a Blick close by. They carry a lot of supplies that are not carried by larger chain hobby stores, and the prices are competitive. Staff is always friendly and willing to help you find things, and if they dont stock it they will order it in for you.

Good variety of items. I always feel like a kid in a candy store. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The free loyalty card gives automatic price matching to their online deals.

I will start off saying Blick has a wide range of inventory.That said ... Most of it is in shambles, the paint brush section was picked over and the inventory that was left appeared used or damaged.They do carry high end brushes that are in plastic if youre okay with $30.00+ a brush.

Im a professional freelance illustrator whos works youve seen in books, magazines, dozens of TV series and in three motion pictures. Nineteen years ago I moved from Laguna Beach, California to Mesa and later to Pinal County where I serve in a sworn, badged law enforcement job employed by the state. Blick Art Materials has been around for considerably longer than Ive known they exist. Three years ago, my wife started abstract pouring painting and carried it from our family web site to YouTube to the State Fair to two separate and very exclusive galleries in Phoenix and Deer Valley. Shes been shopping Blick for around a year. Walking into Blick in Tempe is like walking into a Swiss fudge factory! Its stuffed to the bursting with ALL the supplies Lori and I need! Blick literally carries ever major and minor work tool, implement, paint brand, color and chemistry she needs. Blick carries EVERY brand of pen, ink, pencil and acrylic I need to collect my earnings. But most importantly, as challenging as this can be, they provide extra-special customer service to our behaviorally-challenged, multiply-diagnosed, ADA Special Needs young adult! I only recently learned of Blicks existence and have only been there four times. Our son has only been there four times. He cannot wait to go back! Neither can we!

I think I spent about two hours in the store. The staff was so helpful in fact I think I was offered assistance by 12 different people so they were almost too helpful but I didn’t mind. I don’t think there’s a single store that offers absolutely every type of art supply that’s out there but this store definitely has something from just about every category there is. I’m sure if you can’t find it in there you can definitely go to their website. I definitely recommend it.

I go to this place regularly. Ive done all my school shopping here and the selection has always been great. The customer service has always been great as if Im looking for something specific theyll give me the best answer they can. The only time Ive gone in and seen them out of something it turned out it just wasnt stocked. They got it from the back for me and saved me the trouble of going to another store or online. Overall a great store for any artist.

I stopped by Blick to look for some painting supplies for a gift for my girlfriend. Im completely out of my element in an art store, however, one of the employees took the time to understand what I was looking for and walked me around showing me where to find everything I needed. Awesome employees. The selection seemed and the store was very clean and organized too.

Been coming here for a few years and everytime I get what I need and always tend to pick up a few things I didnt plan on :)The selection and prices are awesome and if you sign up for the store card they can match the online price from their website in store so I dont need to worry about finding the best price.Staff are nice and friendly, and they know their stuff when I was into painting I got a bit of a run down on the different paints and brands, what kind of products I should and shouldnt use yet.

Blick is so new to me that my phone doesnt recognize the word, but I still spent over a hundred dollars on my first trip... Yeah they have a lot of awesome art supplies.

If you are serious about art at all; you owe it to yourself to get acquainted with Blick.Not only does Blick carry many of the top brands, but they also have theyre own house brand. The quality on the Blick brand products are very comparable to the name brands for about 20% less.The staff is friendly and helpful. I also recommend joining the Blick club for extra savings.

Like stepping back in time for me. I learned architectural drafting in the days before CAD. Ive recently started a project and I wanted to draft it Old School. Blick had almost everything I wanted and way more than I needed.If you want to build architectural models, theyve got what you need. If youre an artist, they have it all.Nice people. Pretty good selection. Pricing is okay.

This store has great prices and great energy. It is a happy place.I hate the parking lot -- it is awkward to navigate. But thats not Blick Arts fault.I specifically shop at this art store because they carry a wide variety of Copic markers and Copic marker refills. It is super convenient to drop in quickly and buy what I need instead of waiting a week to get them in the mail.The staff are always helpful and seem genuinely happy to work there.

There are three main art stores in the Phoenix Metro area. Blick has the most reasonable selection of art supplies. It has nice selection different from the other with it store brand. The brush selection is nice and the paint selection is mostly Nationwide brands. Youll also find hard to find items here (blue mech lead), silicon modeling tool.

A paradise for art lovers. You get almost everything but prices are higher when compared to other stores.

My third time in in two weeks and the customer service has usually been pretty good - prompt, nice and respectful. Today the service was extremely low. As I walk in, three employees had to look over to see who I was then one did greet me but never offered to help find anything. I was on the search for something specific and thought I knew where it was. One employee, who seemed new, walked by but would not make eye contact....so I didnt bother him. I found what I needed finally and went to the counter. The cashier was now directing the new employee and continued to do so even after I had laid the items on the counter. Finally their conversation was over, he rang up my items and was about to give me the total when another customer asked a question. Completely ignoring where we were with the transaction, he proceeded to talk in depth with this new customer. I walked around the register area while he finished up. When I returned, he seemed annoyed that I hadnt stood there and waited on him to finish his conversation. If companies want to know why customers do not buy locally and continue to purchase more and more items from the internet, THIS is why! Luckily there are more art stores in the Tempe area.

Not Your Average Craft Store. Small space with lots of good products on the shelves. Not a place to take your young child unless you want to chase them every moment. Supplies for all levels of artists but really for the very serious amateur or the professional. Staff was pleasant enough. Well be back.

Blick’s is always great :) They offer a good student discount and they honor other online prices at different stores. If they don’t have something they will order it for you or help you find a suitable alternative. Their modeling wood products rarely ever have warps which is super important. Their online store is a little wonky to navigate but in person it’s great :)

Great place lots of coo art material. Had to pick up some stuff for an architectural class. My class had different material so just double check your material.

I ordered a cradled wood substrate (a hardboard panel 30 x 40 x 1.5 deep). It arrived in a timely manner but was dented on one side and warped. When I placed it on a level surface, it rocked. I also placed a 4 ft level across it to double check if the warp was bad enough that I could not use it. It cupped in the center and was definitely higher on the ends. This was Dick Blicks own line of hardboard substrates. It should be a completely flat panel, so I returned it to them. The agent was very nice and made the return easy. However, this is not the first time Ive ordered something from Dick Blick and had problems of some sort. Im very quickly losing faith in their warehouse staff.

Has many choices for art supplies. Very nice laid out store. My daughter fell in love with the color pencils.

Wonderful place for art equipment and material, has everything I want. I have nothing against the company, I love the staff for their help and support for finding things, and Im usually okay with one mistake since we are human, but there were multiple mistakes, including taking an extra 2 hours of driving, 60 miles, to swap the incorrect kit.All I got were uncertain apologies from a different worker when I returned, not willing to help with anything for the time I spent for the mistakes that was made. I could have utilized the two hours to work on homework and my other projects.Again, the place and staff are great, its just the experience of the mistakes from the one cashier and the lack of offering any small help for the time I had to spend to find a way to fix the mistakes.

I drove all the way out here to get supplies for my art course, they have a great selection but the people at the register forgot to hand me my drawing pads. I ran back but got there at 6:01pm, They closed and now Ill have to drive all the way back out here to get the supplies my teacher demands that I can only get here... needless to say I disliked their forgetfulness

To be honest, they dont even deserve one star. I have spent a lot of money at this store and have been a loyal customer for 15+ years. Let me start with how cramped this store is... The isles are extremely narrow and lets be honest- a lot of art supplies is large, oddly shaped or bulky. You can just forget about getting around the store easily on a good day, let alone right before school starts when they have the good sales. As a disabled veteran it is even worse. Plus I have a service dog. I WAS willing to overlook theyre parking lot situation and being told I couldnt bring my dog in the store and then being challenged as to whether its a real service dog or not. But after being told I could not return items bought from a store in Las Vegas or online(with the receipt) Im done. And Im telling all my friends too. What a shame.
