I really like the theme here. They have hundreds of board games you can play. Library style rectangular tables, that seat four, allow people to eat and play. Unfortunately, based on their small, chewy, bland, dry, and cold shaved steak street tacos, your best move is probably not to roll the menu dice, but just to stick to the games.One last note: Their menu at the door says the staff sanitizes the area after every patron leaves. Nobody cleaned my spot before I sat at the bar. Maybe your experience will be different.

I had such a great experience at this place. I recommend this place to anyone and everyone. We live in AZ and it’s hot and there’s nothing really to do. This is such a perfect spot to spend time with family, friends, and even a date.

This is the best bar in Tempe!!! Snake & Lattes is the a true gem. If you want to have a great night with some friends or try a new date spot you need to come here.

My first time here was awesome! I came in to do some work and get some food, and the atmosphere was great for that on a Monday. I got the impossible burger with all the fixins, an espresso, and a draft beer. The only vegan things they have on the menu right now are the impossible burger and the vegan animal fries (I saw an old menu with hummus on it, but they dont have that anymore!). Everything was super tasty. The bun was a little bit dry, but I still enjoyed the burger. I ended up running into some friends and playing a few games after I finished my work, and I had a great time! It was an evening well spent, for sure. Im hoping to be back again soon.

Snakes & Lattes has great service! My friend and I stayed for a few hours on a Saturday afternoon and the vibe and ambiance was chill! I would go again. The avacado toast was delicious!

Loved the atmosphere and concept of dining with board games. We had a blast!! Drinks and food was tasty. Staff was extra friendly and helpful. The AC was out when we went so it was hot and sorta uncomfortable but understandable as they are in the process of fixing it. I will definitely be back!

Let me start by saying that the atmosphere and the design idea of the this place is unique, fun and laid back. I love visiting different coffee shops and this place is great combo between and quick snack and a delicious cup of your favorite coffee or tea style. Any purchase at the bar needs to be paid separately from everything else, even if its just a simple cup of coffee, and to play the game theres a charge of 5$ per person added to final bill, simply FYI 😁Food was pretty good, we ordered the BBQ chicken flat bread, I would of preferred a bit more Krispy flat bread and more chicken pieces, not complaining, theres always room for improvement for every business to keep customers coming back. Overall, very pleasant evening date with my Boo 👻.

Made a reservation for 7:30pm on Monday and it was not honored when we arrived. They said they already turned off the OpenTable.Service and food were okay. Seems to be a fun place to go in a big group of people, especially since there are games available for a fee. There is a $30 brunch special that includes game, bottomless mimosas, and entree.Dog friendly enclosed, outdoor patio. Handicapped accessible. Some construction in the area. Limited street parking. Two handicapped parking spots right next to the entrance patio area. Paid $2/hr parking available around the corner.Overall okay. Would maybe recommend for a local person. Wouldnt recommend for someone visiting Phoenix for a weekend.

I was visiting the Phoenix area for a week and came here 3 times in that week. I love board game cafes and have been to a ton around the country and this is one of my favorites! The board game selection is amazing (theyll actually purchase a game to add to the collection if you request it)! A lot of board game cafes have mediocre drinks, but this place has great drinks. Happy hour is every day 2-6, so definitely take advantage of that.

Service, drinks and dessert were great. Staff was attentive but not overwhelming. Wasnt a fan of the Korean chicken poutine I ordered, it tasted like ketchup. It didnt ruin the experience because I was a huge fan of everything else. Must try the dessert poutine! Great place to have a group outing with dinner and drinks. One of the best low key happy hours in the area. Would recommend for dates and groups. Would not recommend as a solo or for bar hopping.

The patio is perfect for a fall or spring day. Decent selection of good food (the breakfast burrito is enormous and delicious!). Cool selection of games for all group sizes. Staff were friendly and relaxed. Definitely will be a repeat customer.

Have to pay for parking, have to pay $6/person (even if you bring your own game), and the food is on the expensive side for the quality.Its nice enough and the employees are usually nice.I think it fits squarely in the bring a friend here when they are in town category. Not the meet every week category.

I want to love this place. The game experts are amazing. Really cool people who are passionate about games and extremely knowledgeable. I’ve been three times now and each time it is uncomfortably hot. It’s Arizona people, I don’t care what it costs, quality air conditioning is a necessity. Yesterday (Saturday evening) two of us went and despite over half of the tables being empty, we were told there were several reservations coming in. After waiting at the bar for 30 mins and still seeing half the tables empty, I again asked the hostess if we could be seated, and was again told no, and that they would seat us as soon as possible. We waited at the bar for 15 more minutes (it’s a lot harder to play games at the bar!) before leaving. I worked in the service industry for years, there is no reason we shouldn’t have gotten a table. Focus on the customers in front of you, not what some dumb app tells you. 🙄

Such an amazing place if you are visiting, the waitresses and staff were so friendly I didn’t eat any food but it was tempting, the drinks were delicious. Also who can say no to the endless amount of hoard games? So much fun!

Checked out this spot over the weekend.Although I was expecting a more chill environment its pretty lively with a more trendy modern vibe.I enjoyed it, and really its a great well rounded hangout where you can get food, drinks and even play games together.The staff were both helpful and knowledgeable with the games which saves time with playing.Overall Id definitely recommend it if your looking for a spot to hangout with friends especially if your into various games.Menu selection felt kinda limited but not unreasonable considering how much this place offers all around.Pictured is the Mimosa Flight and Azul refresher. Such a fun and creative way to unplug and have good old fashioned fun! Can I just point out that its especially a relief after being socially deprived for so long? I chose this place for some Mother/son bonding time and it was the most enjoyable quality time we have spent in a long time. Great for families, kiddos, college kids, and adults! My wife and I really enjoyed our visit here! It has a comfy coffee house feel with really good food items and delicious boozy coffee items. Definitely would recommend coming with a group as there are a hundred of board games to choose from to play. Cant wait to go back!

Went here as part of the Foodie Tour. Their dish was poutine which has a few twists from the original: tater tots in place of French fries, sausage and an over easy egg on top. This was an absolutely delicious dish and I cant wait to go back. Staff was friendly and helpful. Hundreds of board games to choose from at $5/person, which I believe is unlimited play. Its very large inside with a loft type vibe. Outside patio seating is pup friendly.

Snakes and Lattes is a place that has something for everyone, but perhaps doesnt excel on any specific dimension. They have a decent library of board games, but for $5/person I would have expected more.Their food is good, but there arent any menu items that would make me come back. They have a decent bar and coffee, but again, there are better places to get a drink right around the corner for the same price.If I wanted to host a group of indecisive friends, perhaps this is not a bad place to start the evening and get a sense for what makes the crowd happy, but I dont feel like I have strong reasons to come back.

This place has a great atmosphere, and great staff! Having unlimited access to board games is also super fun. Like everything near campus, the food and drinks are slightly overpriced for the quality, but its still well worth a visit!

Pretty mediocre if you’re just coming here for food. The concept is cool, board games, drinks, food, and pet friendly! Probably a good place to come and spend a couple hours with friends. However, if you just want to come here for the food and drink there are plenty of other better options for that on the same street. Service was also pretty slow, it again, if you’re playing board games this probably isn’t an issue.

Such a fun experience!We played mancala, ate a delicious meal (breakfast poutine & vegan disco fries), had an amazing mocha cold brew, & left completely satisfied! Would definitely recommend this place for a date! Or just a fun gathering with friends. $5 per person to play the games, but worth it! Kid friendly too.

Relax, get strategic, or simply laugh a lot.This place also makes for a great first date option or work team builder. I love it here.

Great place, good atmosphere, cool employees, games, bar, tables, fun, music. Happy hour was from 2-6pm. And if ur cell battery or laptop needs power, they have that also. Plug in outlets under the bar for sure, and I think maybe some by some of the tables, youll figure it out. 🙃🙂

Cool place, very spacious making it great for groups. Drink menu seems good, some great coffee cocktails, beer menu is a little underwhelming, clearly geared for the new to drinking college student. A good variety of food but nothing that peaked my interests enough to order food. A massive selection of board games which I plan to be back to try, we just didnt plan to spend too much time here tonight and couldnt see paying $5 each, especially after the cost of a couple cocktails, to play games for maybe 45min. Someday when I have more time to spend here I plan to play games, they have a huge selection, so a great way to try out new games.

Absolutely brilliant idea and place. The staff couldnt be nicer, they have a board game guru to make recommendations and explain games. The games, after the entry fee, are free to play as long as you remain there. They have great beer, several eating options (didnt have food though). The whole place is an experience, certainly to repeat as often as possible. If youre in the area with some friends, it is certainly a must visit! If you think you are not into board games, check again and ask the local guru who will certainly find something for you to enjoy.

First time here and we love this place! Were still here writing this review so have to give a shout-out to our amazing waitress Niki. She keeps the mimosas going and had great food recommendations (breakfast burrito is huge and so tasty!) will definitely be back with a larger group of friends to play some more fun games.

I love this spot. They originate from Canada I believe, and so, they have poutine! If you havent had it, it is french fries with gravy and cheese curds and other fun fattening goodness. And this isnt the only great thing about this spot.This is a board game place if you couldnt tell by the name. You pay $5 to play for the night and you can play as many different board games as you like. They have a large library of games i have never heard of and there is usually a game master there to help you pick a game based on your preference. They will even walk you through how to play the game so you dont have to read the rulebook!Fun spot for a date or a small group of friends!

I thought the concept of Snakes and lattes was definitely interesting. I was recommended this place for studying and homework. It was a bit too noisy for me and although there were groups and couples lingering and playing games for hours our server seemed like she wanted my boyfriend and I to leave. She checked on us too frequently and asked multiple times if we were ready for the check. We had another employee come by and ask the same as well. We did order drinks and food and ordered a few other things throughout our time there. It was a turnoff that paying customers were almost being pressured to leave. In the end we paid around $70 for food throughout the evening and gave a fair tip too. So if you are a college student looking to get some work done in a cute cafe, I would say DO NOT try this place. However if your looking for a cute date night or friend night, sure go for it! Food was decent and prices were alright, but we were definitely turned off by our server.

Stopped by after the botanical gardens for an outdoor lunch. Limited outdoor seating. They have covered seating, umbrellas, and misters and allow dogs. Nice menu and lots of drink options. Game options as well. They offer brunch until 2 on the weekends with bottomless mimosas and have happy hour after that. Our waitress was wonderful Im sorry I dont remember her name because she deserves some recognition.

Decided on a late afternoon snack with a friend while visiting ASU. Their food was beyond delicious! And the server Molly was incredibly professional and polite, plus the menu has some great choices to say the least. The overall presentation of the food was a solid 10 for 10. New favorite spot in Tempe hands down.

My wife and I were there both Fri. for the grand opening and last night. The food was great fresh and tasty. I liked the fact they have vegan and Vegetarian options. The game gurus work as a team. One helped pick out a game for us both nights. If one doesnt have the answer they ask another guru. The hazelnut hot chocolate was excellent. This place is pure FUN. Would come back weekly with just my wife or a group of our friends.

Eat, drink, and play games. My partner and I went here for date night, and it did not disappoint. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND ORDER THE ELOTE BITES.

First, the food... It is always so yummy. I do find that I am creature of habit so tend to order my usual which is either the Smash Burger or the Mac-n-Cheese. They recently introduced a brunch menu and the Breakfast Burrito and Breakfast sandwich are very tasty. I will definitely be back multiple times!

I was so glad to discover this place after a night out. Their spiked coffee was a perfect pick me up for the ride home, and I love the idea of playing board games while eating. I will definitely be bringing friends and the kids back to play and eat.

This restaurant looks good on the outside and inside, but those looks are deceiving. I was very excited to try this restaurant with a group of people, which I thought the food looks good too. When I arrived, it was really hard to find a parking space, and I did not let that stop me from going into this restaurant to try it for myself with my people. Upon entering the restaurant at around 7:30pm at a not busy time, I had to stand and wait a bit for a host to come get me to meet with my group of people.Although it was not a busy evening, the waitress named Maggie C. did not come take my order until 20 minutes later, no water was on my table as well. I decided to try their Korean BBQ Poutine which I have never tried Poutine before, which two of the people at our table ordered as well. The food looks great, and the first few bites were great until it gets to the bottom. There were excessive sauces at the bottom where it tingled my tongue even hours after eating. It was disappointing that the server did not come ask about the food nor grab a refill for me either.Towards the end I find out that they uncharge you 20% (auto-grat) for party of. 8+, it sure was an opportunity for her to slack at her job: decided to let me sit down and wait 20 minutes to take my order, not asking how the food was, no refilling water, etc. She also decided not to separate my bill away from the rest of the people, which was a subtle sign that she did not do a good job and I would not tip her 20%. I was going to order alcohol, but was not looking to spend $23 for what I would get. My bill came out to be $16 without the alcohol, and if she had known how to properly serve customers to earn her tips, it would not have been a problem to tip her 20%. Unfortunately, due to the poor service and deceiving food, I will not be back and will be suggesting the group to try other places as well. I am sure I can spend $16 on much better food places with much better services. Customer should only pay for good food and tip for good services. Maggie C. was lucky that there were 8 of us for her to get 20% auto-grat from everyone at the table.

Ive been here a couple times since they opened already and Ive loved every experience. The staff are super friendly, the games are fun, and the game gurus do a wonderful job of choosing and teaching games.Everything Ive had, from the kitchen and behind the bar/coffee bar, has been excellent. Its not just a gimmicky store, they also make good food and drinks.

Great place to try out new games and hangout with friends. We order the poutine and dessert everytime we go! Its open late till 1am and gives ample time to try out multiple games or one long strategy game an evening. I wish they had 5 or above price, for groups.

New board game bar/restaurant concept on Mill Avenue is pretty incredible: vast and well curated selection of games organized by type and tagged by number of players + skill level required, with everything from classics like Clue to esoteric cooperatives to which you could dedicate hours. Played 3 new games in as many hours, sustained by Korean fried chicken poutine (YES) and warm salted chocolate chip cookies. Go. Go now. (Logistical fine print: they charge $5/person for unlimited games, and provide roaming staff to make recommendations, explain game play and answer questions throughout.)

Hands down the coolest place I’ve been too! Such a unique experience, playing games, drinking coffee, booze, and great food while learning all Kinds of new games from their “game gurus”. They need more of these in other states! Would definitely recommend a visit.

Wasn’t told upfront by hostess ot waitress that you are charged $5 a person for using a game. My daughter selected a game but we never got a chance to play it. She would’ve never selected a game if we knew an additional $10 would be added to the bill. Told by manager that she would refund but never saw credit on my charge account. Beware of game charge !!
