This place blew my mind. Like a whole bevmo store condensed into a treasure trove of wine, beer and liquor from around the world. Single malt whiskeys, british ciders etc. Staff were great as were the prices. Very reasonable indeed. I wish I could have brought the place back to California. Definitely the liquor store to visit if you are in town. The 14 year old Glenmorangie port finish is a masterpiece. 💥

I asked one of the employees to show me a spirit with a ‘leathery’ flavor. A difficult and unique request, to say the least. They handed me a bottle of Mocambo spiced rum, aged 20 years, and they hit it right on the head. This place seems to be run by people with good heads on their shoulders, I highly recommend it!

Literally stocks more beer than the store can hold. The cases line the isles, and take up half if them. It is overflowing with beer. (Perhaps it even violates the fire code, who knows, but beer a plenty.)Good prices, amazing selection, and plenty of sales, especially on freshly arrived cases.Always have good supply of rare hard-to-get releases, like KBS or Bourbon County. Highly recommended to get that hard to get bottle.And as a bonus they do help you carry it to your car, if you buy more than you can carry. Imagine if a hoarder focused on alcohol, but kept a very neat and tidy place. Thats kind of what Tops reminds me of. They have things there I havent been able to find anywhere else (e.g. Sabra). Great staff-- one of them showed me an Armenian brandy that made me laugh.

They carry the full line of mezcal Carreño which is the award-winning brand but also one best mezcal at the San Francisco World Spears competition in March of 2020. ASU apparently earns its rep in one little potable mom n pop.The selection is wide and deep; aisles are so literally overflowing with product that the visual noise was a challenge.One caveat; everything has a pricetag on it but it may be faded, etc. Dont even try to go by the shelf tag.Cheers!

Great selection of every type of liquor, mixer, beer, and wine. Kegs and CO2 are also available, with a surprisingly wide variety. I always check out what they have on sale near the counter; a chance taken on some unusual beers and spirits on special often results in a new favorite!

All in a boutique-sized store. Very friendly staff... Family operated. Expect retail pricing with some sale items at nice discount.

Great local liquor store where you can find pretty much anything. I went to get my husband some highly ranked, limited edition beers for his birthday and they had quite a selection! The guys that work there are very knowledgeable and make excellent suggestions. My husband loved the beers. I would definitely go back to find any obscure or special alcoholic beverage.

Its not exactly spacious, in fact, its kinda cramped, but its got a vast selection of beer, wine and spirits. Im a bourbon fan myself and they had more than a few of the hard to find ones I cant find back home.The staff is friendly and knowledge. I highly recommend checking it out and judging for yourself.

This place is a hidden gem. While it may induce some claustrophobia in some people, for treasure hunters like myself, this was a gold mine. The liquor isnt perfectly laser lined on shelves like your typical wine or liquor mart. You have to do a little digging to find what your heart truly desires. See a bottle of 8 year xx that youre looking for? Pull the bottle off the shelf only to reveal its 10 and 12 year sibling! Overall great selection, friendly and interesting staff, and sometimes you can find real bargains here. Next time you head to Total Wine for that aged rum or oat stout, give this place a visit first.

Dont come here if you love neat and organized because Tops is a very unique place with a hodgepodge of beer and drinks spread throughout the store. I love their selection and their sales items are great. Tops is always a fun place to go to.

Cluttered, crowded, a dive bar in the form of a liquor store... And its amazing. Ive been visiting tops since 2009 and its the best liquor store Ive ever been in. So much selection, so many good deals, employees who actually know good alcohol, and a prime location. Ive even special ordered a few bottles and they came in without a hitch. Plus next door is their tasting room: Taste of Tops which is the best no frills, I just want to sit and have a drink bar in Tempe. Long live Tops.

Best liquor store in Tempe! Pretty much my go to spot for any craft beer. Has basically any beer youd want aside from the rare stuff you wouldnt get anyway. Service is always great, and prices are pretty fair. They also have a good wine selection for when I dont feel like wine. Liquor is also more than plentiful, but not exactly my cup of tea. This place is stuffed full of the best selection of liquor in a city liquor store that weve ever encountered in our US travels.We bought our duty free here because the selection was awesome and they had the Laphroiag Quarter Cask that nobody else stocked.

Tops is the only spot you should purchase your liquor in Tempe. Forget going to the grocery store, they have an unbeatable selection and generally better prices than any other local stores. Cruise next door and they offer an awesome selection of beer and wine in their personal bar. Grab a beer or wine flight and mingle with the cool crowd that hangs out there. The people that work there are awesome too, especially Ben, super knowledgeable friendly dude.

Its always an adventure when going to tops! If you have no idea what to get or even what you want to drink just talk to one of the very many friendly staff. They will help you look for the perfect spirit /beer/wine of choice and they are so knowledgeable. The place is a little tight to walk around in but only because they have such a large collection of alcohol to choose from!
