We had the Peaky Blinders high tea with vegan options.(Red Right Hand’ def needed adding to the playlist!)Although the savories tasted great, they weren’t in the same theme. Can’t imagine the Shelbys sitting down for sushi and cucumber sandwiches! A nice vegan cheese and pickle might have worked better. The sweets were really nice and we loved the creative chocolate gun and razor blade shortbread! The display was lovely and we each had a bar item - loved the gun and bullet shot glass! The lady who does it is so creative and we loved chatting to her. Can’t wait to come back soon!

Came here for the Beauty and the Beast themed afternoon tea. It was amazing! The theme was very well thought out, even try the grey stuff cheesecake and an edible rose cake pop. Every part of it tasted delicious. The staff are super friendly and the setting is very relaxed. I highly recommend

Do not recommend, we had very disappointing experience. We had the Harry Potter high tea. The other themes looked a lot better, so I can’t speak for those. The cupcakes were dry and quite sickly; the cookies tasted like raising agent or something of the like; the golden snitches were Ferrero Roches with paper wings stuck to them; the shortbread was delicious, but had a thick layer of fondant on them that made them too sweet; the treacle tart pots were also delicious, but had fondant too for some reason. As for the savoury bits, the cheese parcels were delicious, but the finger sandwiches tasted of toothpaste and the mini sandwiches were quite plain, both were dry.The service was excellent, until the end when we were asked what we thought and we were honest, saying that we were a little disappointed. The person taking payment, possibly the owner, became very defensive and a little aggressive. She demanded we give her feedback, but then argued with us and our comments. We just paid and left. We won’t be returning nor recommending.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟We could not fault this wonderful experience! The service and staff were attentive yet discreet. We did not feel rushed. The savoury food was delicious and served fresh and hot to the table. My favourite from the savory was the acceptance letter and herbology sandwich. The cakes and biscuits were perfectly baked and tasted delicious! There was so much we have a goody bag to take home! The atmosphere adds to the whole experience. Thank you again for a wonderful experience

Went for a Harry Potter tea with the kids. Was amazing and we also had a professional cake maker with us who was blown away. Kids loved it, we loved it. Quality of cakes, savoury food, presentation, and service all exemplary. Will definitely be recommending to friends.

My friends and I chose the Down the rabbit hole tea party as we liked the look of the food better than the other themes. On arrival our table was all set up and looked very cute. However when our savory food arrived we were very disappointed. Our cheese and crackers were actually cheese scones, which contained cream, apple and chutney (not to our liking) our chicken and bacon sandwiches was just a processed chicken slice in bread (no bacon) and we only got half a sandwich each. The egg mayo carrot pastries were very dry, and unfortunately my first mouthful contained egg shell, which put me off straight away. However i can not fault the sweet section. the cakes were amazing and the staff were very friendly. For what we got I dont feel it was worth anywhere near the £125 they made from us, I have other friends that have been before and highly recommend so maybe we just had a bad experience. As much as i loved the concept i highly doubt i would return. Wish theyd served what they advertised!

Took th Mrs for a beauty and the beast lunch, cakes were sickeningly sweet, the savery food tasted like it was reheated in the microwave, they were no even setup for us so we had to watch them get chairs and table out... the general atmosphere was uncomfortable. Will not be returning.

This was the worst afternoon tea I have ever had! It consisted of half ham roll(dry), small slice of quiche (bland), two Philadelphia and mint soldiers (not nice!!!) and a small cheese parcel (needed a chutney or something to go with) then there was a chocolate cupcake (dry and the buttercream was grainy and the model on it tasted of bicarbonate of soda! ) two shortbread biscuits (far too much fondant icing over both), a ferrero Roche’ chocolate and a tiny caramel dessert(this was nice) A sickly sweet fizzy drink. The earl grey tea Tasted cheap. This was all served in a porta cabin (decorated very nicely with uncomfortable chairs) behind the premises at a cost of £75 for the three of us. When we were asked if we enjoyed it I calmly said no. The woman in charge became defensive in a very aggressive way. I would not recommend this experience at all.

An appointment was made 4 weeks ago with Tasha by my sons fiancee for a wedding cake tasting for 10.30 today Sat 24th November 18.The location of the wedding was 2 hrs drive away and Tasha was happy with the location. The website states it charges per mile after 5 miles. Nothing about distance on the site.We all duly turned up at just after 10.30hrs after a long 2 hr drive to be greeted with horror by the first shop assistant who when told why we were there said What!. A phone call to Tasha was made by the shop assistant and she came back saying Tasha had a family emergency and could we come back Wed or Thurs. The answer was no so the assistant went to call Tasha again and the most senior came out and announced she had spoken to Tashas mum and Tasha had been taken into hospital the night before to have her appendix out ( but she will still be well enough for cake tasting this Wed). The same assistant then said Tasha was not due to be in work today and there were no appointments in the diary. She did take the blame as being most senior and then offered a box of free cupcakes after announcing that they do not deliver to Colchester. The assistant was most put out when told no one would be back for a cake order. Also very disappointed in how small the shop was, and the cupcakes looked a lot smaller than in the photographs too.

Very Good quality cake shop suited for events and parties, but a strong Each to Their Own warning comesas you will either love the experience / cakes or hate it, experience shoes there is little middle ground. The shop itself is run professionally by staff that care about the experience and have always been friendly on visits. Its a small shop so expect to come here for an event / party or to buy cakes to take away, as its not standard cafe sized i.e designed for groups / individuals in mind. The cakes themselves are always fresh and full of flavours but can be very sugary depending on what you pick, which could put put those off that like traditional cakes that arent sweet.Always moves with the times and the decor / outside changes with the time of year, and seems to support local community events as of Easter 2018 at time of review. The inside decor is stylised but in a unique / nice way and does not grate.Overall recommended as the presentation / cakes are good quality and the business cares about its services, but you need to take into account the high sugar content of some of the ranges
