Im not even sure where to start this review. If I could give Bavarian Performance Specialists 10 positive stars I would. My daughter attends college in Thousand Oaks and we live in Utah. After shipping my daughters car to school, it ended up with a no-start scenario when we arrived to move her in to her dorm. Not knowing any service facilities in the area, I asked around and luckily someone recommended Hal and BPS. This was a Thursday evening at 8PM, but I thought I would call and leave a message since I needed to go back home on Saturday and there wasnt much time to get the car fixed. To my surprise Hal answered the phone that late in the evening and ended up talking / texting - giving me ideas to try until 11PM that night! All ideas that he wanted me to try, in order to NOT have to bring it in to his shop for repairs. How refreshing was that? At the end of the day, it turned out that the car needed a starter, and even though Hal had a full shop, given my situation, he was able to shift some other work around, and got the car in on Friday and had it fixed for us Friday by 6PM. Top that off with a lifetime warranty on the part and a two year warranty on the labor, we just couldnt be happier that we found this shop. As if that were not enough, Hal gave his personal cell number to my daughter and said she could feel free to call him at any point, even after hours or weekends if she had questions about anything at all on her car. You just dont get service like this anymore these days. Thank you Hal and team. You have customers for life!

I have been working with Hal at Bavarian performance since I was 17.I am 29 now. I own many classic and rare European vehicles. He is the only shop I would trust to work on my cars. my 1971 bmw 2002 golf yellow recently went in for transmission repair. And he fixed it car is running great

This is the second time I’ve taken my 2013 Audi A6 to Hal. They have done an outstanding job both times. Hal and his crew care about their customers, and are extremely knowledgeable on foreign cars. I find it refreshing to have found a dependable, honest mechanic who is truly looking out for their customer’s best interest and are reasonably priced.

The check engine light came on in my BMW E60 and they plugged it in and diagnosed it for free. thankfully it wasnt a huge issues and I was able to continue on my trip to Pismo beach and back. I just wish they were closer to home in Pasadena.

Incredible service and professionalism front and center. First time in and I was only there for tire replacement, but the experience has made me a fan. Owner explained the entire process, including many things I never knew about alignment and balance. He asked how we found them, assured me they were not just about German cars, and was just a great guy. Price was competitive too. I will be back!

My first visit happened to be without an appointment. Early in the day, a dangerous situation with my BMWs front suspension was discovered. BPS resolved the problem the same day. Thank you BPS!

Hal personally does all tire installation and wheel balancing; he has the best equipment, and he knows what hes doing. Extras like coating surfaces with copper lubricant and hand torqueing everything to spec are standard. I have expensive alloy rims, and wouldnt trust them to anyone else.

Hal is my local “go to guy” for independent BMW service. He’s extremely knowledgeable and a bit of a perfectionist. Perfect! I’ve brought my vintage 1973 BMW as well as modern BMW’s, plus a VW with Bosch fuel injection issues. I especially appreciate his shop’s skill at preventing problems before they develop.

This is my 2nd time using Bavarian Motors and we came in for an oil change but Hal did a check on the diagnostic and found wires chewed d on a rat. He also found a bad NOx sensor and leaky def fluid line. Hal and his team are very detailed and do good work. You can trust them for doing good work on your European car.

Hal is a wonderful and down to earth mechanical guy. Steve worked on my 2005 Acura RL did a wonderful job. The car has over 141,000 miles. I wanted to replace all 4 brake pads and flush all the brake fluid lines. Hal helped me to pick the best Bosch ceramics brake pads. Steve checked the car from top to bottom and asked me a lot of relevant questions. ... I picked up my car at the end of the day. She drives beautifully and performs significantly better. I appreciate the difference. Love it. The charge was very reasonable for an honest day of work. Thnx, Hal and Steve.

I have a 2008, 535 with 75k miles.I had the car serviced at the local dealer while it was under warranty, but that is now over.I had a check engine light on and brought it to the dealer. They thought they diagnosed it and changed a part, but that did not work so they put my old part back in (but did not charge me for this, other than the diagnosis fee).They said the repair needed now is a carbon cleaning ($800) and replace the fuel injector. They also said they cannot replace one injector, but instead have to replace all of them even if only one is causing a problem, and this was going to be $2200.Instead, I brought the car to Hal, at Bavarian Performance, and he did their carbon cleaning for half the dealer price. Hal also was skeptical of the need for injectors so certainly suggested not replacing those.Result? The car is running sweet again!My car will be going back to Hal, when something is needed.

Just the best service. Went for brakes on my 328i and Its like heaven whenever I need to brake while ripping through a canyon. They also helped out with a few other things I wanted to do and now my baby purrs.

I had a self-induced problem with the electronics of my new 2012 BMW 535 M-Sport. I went to Bavarian Performance Specialists and met Hal, the owner, and explained what had happened. I had several fault codes that need to be cleared and a module that needed to be reprogramed. Hal took his time and explained what he was going to do in an attempt to fix what I had messed up. While I waited for Hal to complete his work I had an opportunity to watch his interaction with his customers and his employees. I found him to not only to be extremely knowledgeable, but also very professional. He knows BMWs and knows how to treat people, whether they are customers or employees. In the end he fixed my car without issue and in short order. I will be back. Finding an honest, knowledgeable and professional mechanic is not an easy task. I highly recommend this shop to anyone with a BMW that is looking for an independent shop.
