I used to stop here all the time for 15+ years, but now I have no choice but to look elsewhere. I dont know where or when everything went wrong for Petro Deli, but something has changed. The parking lot has been in a state of disrepair for multiple years now, and in some places you can see clear down to the rebar beneath the concrete. I have been told that there have been numerous reports of car theft going on there at night. During peak hours of the day you will see only one register open for gas and cigarettes and one register open for the deli. Today, the deli register could only take cash, and out of the two registers that are open, only one was available. 4+ people standing behind it looked like deer in headlights. If this was a one time thing, I could understand. Unfortunately this has become a mainstay for Petro Deli, and Im frankly tired of this malarkey. Im not going to spend my hard earned dollar at a location that cant close out a sale.

As a past employee of petro deli I have not one bad thing to say about Rob, Jamie, Nikki or Jason. They were the most understanding, caring, compassionate, empathetic, honest bosses Ive ever had the pleasure to work for, with and beside. When I suffered from a severe depression episode with suicidal thoughts and tendencies they showed me love, encouragement, and support. I have never felt so needed, cared about, respected and appreciated by any other past employer the way that Rob and Jamie showed me the day after I tried to commit suicide. If I was ever offered my job back there I would proudly except it. Rob and Jamie I just want to thank you both from the depths of my heart for being so supportive of me during my hardship. Your compassion, support and empathy was a big help in my ability to bounce back from that. It was a pleasure working for you with you and beside you. I will never forget either of you.

Excellent food, friendly people!

My experiences there have been good. Staff has always been friendly to me. I usually stop there on Sundays after church, to buy the Kansas City Star. Recently, though, Ive quit stopping there. Not because of rude staff, but because of a.) too many near-misses in the parking lot, and b.) too many near-misses in the roundabouts right in front of the store/station and at US 75. People are HORRIBLE in those roundabouts, and will plow through there at 50-60 mph, completely ignoring the yield signs, paying no attention to people already in the roundabout having the right-of-way, and not hesitating to run you over or even hit you. And, tailgating? People tailgate like crazy in those roundabouts. Ive lost count of how many times Ive nearly been hit by these rude, reckless, entitled, and/or distracted drivers! So, Ive quit stopping there, because its simply too dangerous. Not a reflection on Petro Deli, as they obviously have no control over the mayhem on the roads. Its a good deli/store/station. Just be careful getting in and out of there. You could get creamed in the blink of an eye!

Best place in north Topeka. Been going here since i was old enough to ride my bike without supervision. HA. Thanks guys. The service is still just as awesome 30 years later.

Love the spicy chicken strips! Food is always fresh and the drinks are always cold. Its hard not stop by when Im driving by.

We were traveling through going back home to Minnesota and needed to stretch our legs---took advantage of ordering some gizzards and chicken strips........very good....I recommend this place......price was very reasonable as well

I really like the guy thats usually behind the register. He always engages in small-talk, and makes me feel valued. However, today when I went in to get my Sunday paper, every paper had the coupon insert missing. I think they need to be on the look-out for people stealing the inserts. Its very frustrating to be a family that uses coupons, and not being able to get them when they are needed.

I have been coming to your store for 6 years. In those six years you have accused me of shoplifting 3 times and its really offensive to me. I dont come up there to often just because of the way you treat your staff poorly. An incident today with deli food. I paid for my food as usual i got some mushrooms and they had to be cooked so I waited. And I dont know anyone behind the counter and to say that her giving me free food I paid for is a form of stealing when I had my receipt is just crude. Dont plan on coming back. If anyone reads this remember GET A RECIPT. They will accuse anyone of stealing.

This store is outide of Topeka, not Shawnee.They do have some decent food in there. LUV them chicken livers!But their gas is about 10 cents a gallon higher than it is in town.Good location right next to Hwy 75 & 46th Street.

Best gizzards Ive ever had!!

Rude customer service like Ive never seen to the woman in line in front of me. They literally authorized the wrong pump and wouldnt make it right. Kicked her out of the store for asking for either the gas she paid for our a refund. It was unbelievable
