Severely understaffed and poor customer service. Horrible wait times and prescriptions are never ready by when they say. I talked to the store manager last March and they apologized and said they are working on staffing but have not seen any improvements. Painful experience. Only CVS in the area (only other one is Tahoe City but they are super small) so they have a lot of orders and should warrant more employees.Today’s wait time from getting in line to being helped at counter: 34 minutes

USELESS pharmacy. I am fairly certain one of the employees is doped up. He moves and speaks SO slowly, its painful. I wouldnt be surprised if hes addicted to painkillers and theres something shady going on here. Yup, I said it. I had an APPOINTMENT to get my second Covid vaccine here and after waiting patiently at the drop-off counter to check-in while this employee stood behind the counter doing everything except acknowledging me, I finally said Is this where I check-in for my vaccine???. The pharmacist looked over and told me - yeah but I dont have any more vaccines for today. WHAT THE EFF is an appointment good for then?! What a waste of my GD time. No one bothered to call me - of course not! That would be too helpful.

Worst pharmacy experience. Went to pick up, told it would be 15minutes. 1hr 45min later after 20 people vaccinated, lines and lines of angry people, sweating thru my clothes, chills, tears, waiting for antibiotics and $100 worth of medicine I was able run away. AVOID This Place.

This is the worst CVS in the world. Rx was promised to be ready by 4pm Thursday. The following Tuesday when I go in for pickup Im told we are a month behind. Seriously? When I ask why, Im told its because Monday was a holiday. Huh? A month behind because yesterday was a Memorial Day? This is my 3rd visit here and my Rx is never ready when promised. Pretty sure they dont bother filling until you show up and ask for it. There are 3 other pharmacies in Truckee. Go to one of them. Go to any of them. Just do not go to CVS.

Worst pharmacy I’ve ever been to. I had an infection and the RX was called in the night before. I showed up two hours after the pharmacy was open. Waited in line for a half an hour. They told me it wouldn’t be ready for another three hours, but I was welcome to wait around…. I came back at 5:01…. They were all still there, but couldn’t give me my RX because it was after 5pm. Awesome job people!

Seriously, screw this place. I started coming here in March 2020 because they were one of the only pharmacies that carried infertility drugs in the Tahoe area. Something has seriously gone downhill since then. On one occasion I had to wait over 3 hours for a prescription, even though they had over a weeks notice. The other day I had to pick up an RX and they waited until well passed 9:00am to open + acknowledge me. Now, Im recovering from a surgery and my RX was automatically called into this pharmacy... I was on hold for 15 minutes and they hung up. Im not even trying to use these guys anymore, I just wanted to transfer my RX.Seriously negligent and absolutely ridiculous.

This team is doing their absolute best to serve our community. We were in and out of our vaccine appointment in 30 minutes. The store felt more organized and clean then some other visits. We weren’t asked to wait to watch us though - I was asked to stay at Safeway pharmacy for 15 waiting period. Also this CVS does not have the same private vaccine rooms that are set up in the Tahoe city location. The Safeway pharmacy has a back room so you are separated from store shoppers. At this CVS there is a curtain area but it is not private. We were given our card when we walked up to the pharmacy counter. Expect a line with one pharmacy technician. Be respectful and kind.Oh, one big thing…if you live elsewhere, please handle any and all things you can do at your home pharmacy. The pharmacist said majority of vaccines and counter customers are from out of town and or even first time to Truckee visitors who for some reason choose to come here. The population of Truckee is 16,700 people and we have one CVS pharmacy and a housing crisis. The population of Roseville is 118,000 people with 5 stores. Truckee’s population has been estimated to be tripled this past year due to pandemic changes in living. The population of Burlingame is 30,000. The population of Oakland is 433,000 people. You get the point I think, please utilize another pharmacy for your needs. I do want to say that often folks need medications on their travels, but I would urge you to please over prepare before traveling by packing smart and understanding how your needs affect a struggling small town you choose to visit.

This is the Worst Pharmacy I have ever been too! Every single time I go here there is nothing but problems! Today I’ve been holding on and off for an hour at a time because after about an hour it hangs up! Why don’t they answer their phones? Is there a phone number we can call and complain at?! I need help!

Non-existent customer service! I just went there for the first time, looking for earplugs and I couldnt find them nor could I find a single person to help me! So frustrating, especially since I was in a rush to get to Reno. This place CLEARLY doesnt care about their customers. Do not go here unless you absolutely do not care about customer service. I will NEVER go back.

My doctor’s office is calling the pharmacy board to report the pharmacist for never answering the phone (mainly the doctors line) my doctors office called multiple times today and could never get through to the pharmacy. They are furious and find it unacceptable! I myself have been calling corporate offices all week to complain and try to order my prescriptive medication which is at the pharmacy but cannot be filled because I cannot talk to the pharmacy to fill it and the app doesn’t work! Unbelievable to have a prescriptive medication held hostage by a pharmacy that never answers the phone. Called a total of 16 times now and hang up after 30 min each time because I cannot stay on hold for longer than that. Never heard of a pharmacy never answering the phone......

It is quite and the employee are all kinda out of it. It is a weird place. They also have a lot of medication and alcohol, so if your in to that CVS is the place to go. But besides all that you can buy candy and toys and make-up and toiletries. IWould recommend you to get a account there because they have some great deals for members.

I could not say enough good things about CVS Pharmacy staff. David, Ben, Bill and I believe its Leeza (probably butchered her name, sorry girl!) have all been incredibly helpful in regards to our prescriptions. One example would be my husbands steroid inhaler. For some weird reason, his insurance will only cover name brand Advair and only like $40. This is over a $300 expense each month even with insurance. When we went to pick it up, David said that he wanted to see what else he could do so were not paying through the nose just to breath. Not only did he find us a CVS coupon that brought it down to $136, the entire staff now knows my husband and I by name. They fill and use the coupon each time to get the steroid inhaler refilled and were saving money because they cared enough to help in ways we didnt know about. This pharmacy feels like family. Even today when I called to refill my inhaler, David and my husband have there bromance moment and we are sending our love during these strange times. This pharmacy staff is incredible and I think even if we move, wed still have prescriptions filled here just to go say hi!

The CVS here is large with lots to offer. Sadly two outstanding drawbacks were that the staff person didn’t seem overly happy; no greeting when I walked in and there weren’t many customers around at the time. Also the bathroom toilet was in need of a very big cleaning; doesn’t look good to have at a pharmacy.

Monday I was driving to Reno for a mini vacation and realized I had forgotten certain medications, I was in a panic!!! So I phoned the nearest CVS near my location, I explained my situation and was greeted very nicely, professionally and with genuine concern. Finally I reached the pharmacy and I am so grateful that Benjamin was a employee there, he went over and beyond to assist me with his expert customer service. I just want to thank Benjamin on doing a great job!

Everyone, even the callers were helped quickly. Dan the pharmacist was very knowledgeable and informative. The were very efficient and I will absolutely recommend this pharmacy. Thanks again Dan for your help! -Nicole

There app told me my prescription would be ready at 2pm. I showed up at 4pm and they said it would be another two hours. I’m in a strait leg brace a week out of an knee reconstruction surgery and they wouldn’t even move me up the line. I traveled 30min to get here and now I’m stuck unable to elevate my leg or ice it. Horrible service! They have no conception of anyone’s needs and would rather have people suffer.

Dan and Melissa are extremely helpful, courteous and professional people. I am so happy that I moved all of my business over here to CVS. I see some bad reviews about Dan but i have to say that you get what you give. From what I have seen while there at the counter, he has to endure some really ridiculous people that expect way too much. he is a pharmacists not a doctor!

The pharmacist Dan Francke, RPh is a passive aggressively mean man. I am not the only person who has had horrible experiences with this man. He cannot be remotely pleasant, he acts like you are interrupting him and loves to deny service. If you raise any complaints to him he walks away. What kind of service is that? CVS will not fill prescriptions for controlled substances unless it is by a local doctor, this is difficult for me because I travel. This pharmacist acted like he was the one making the decision not to fill my prescription, only after I got angry did he admit that CVS has changed their policy. Rather than showing empathy for me for being in a jam with no medication being filled because CVS has arbitrarily decided to not fill out of city prescriptions for controlled substances this man walks away from me refusing to talk or even check out my other medications. I suffer severely from nerve pain and need this medicine, this pharmacist would not even offer me any advice on where I could possibly fill it. Fortunately Tahoe Forest Pharmacy had no trouble filling this prescription but be warned, the pharmacist at CVS in Truckee, CA is no gentleman, in fact he is downright rude and mean. Im not sure how many complaints this CVS needs against this fellow but everyone in town knew him and also knew his behaviour very well. Probably keeping all other pharmacies in town in business.

Unfortunately the pharmacy staff at this CVS location are rude and abrupt! They talk over you, provide minimal information when you call for assistance and dont seem to know much about customer service. Ive had great experiences with CVS in the SF Bay area and this store is not typical in the wat they handle customers! The staff dont seem to want to help anyone with anything within the pharmacy. These folks need customer service training or the store should consider getting people who want to work there! Outrageous! I have interacted with them a number of times and each time it is worse than the last!

After our dr called in a prescription for our son who has mono. My wife called in and waited on hold for 45 min to see when it would be ready. Gave up and decided to drive down to see if she could wait for it. Waited in line for 20 min (with only one person in front of her) got up to thr counter and the clerk rudely told her it wouldnt be done for hours... not until like 4:30 (my wife was there at 10:30am)!!!Because of my sons tonsils being so swollen, hard to breath, hurt to talk we didnt want him to have to wait any longer than needed. So i went in at 12:30 explained to the clerk how sick my son was and she said she would get it filled. I told her Id walk around for 30 min if that was enough time to wait and she said yes. I came back 30 min later and she hadnt even put it in the system!! Odly enough a lady who was inline infront of me handed the clerk her prescription and hers was filled within 20min, ours was called in at 9:30am.Service is horrible at the Truckee CVS, will not go back and will go to Riteaid or Safeway.

I agree with Karent post. Today, I had the WORST experience with the pharmacist Dan Francke. He is EXTREMELY rude and denied service for my prescription. He should NOT be in a job with a customer facing role or companies are going to have complaints. I called in my prescription 3 days ago and Dan stated that it was filled and then returned to the shelves. This is a mistake on their part, not mine and he refused to refill my prescription until the next day. I have terrible asthma. Because of the fault of the pharmacy, I am unable to get my inhaler which can be detrimental to my health. This is unacceptable.
