Visited the Trumbull office with my special needs son for the first time yesterday. Dr. Grygier was amazing, patient, thorough, and knowledgeable! Weve always had a challenge trying to find the right exam for my guy, first time I left feeling like we got it right with the prescription. Thank you Dr. Grygier!!

Incredible visit, very clean, air conditioning, a large selection of glass to pick from. The Doctor 💉 was awesome! The staff is friendly and kind. Already referred my younger sister, has an appointment with their Southport office today.

The office is bright and the staff is friendly and efficient. My appointment time was honored, there was very little wait time between services, and everyone was quick to do their job yet willing to stop and answer questions and explain procedures. I couldn’t ask for a more thorough exam or a better experience.

Finding this practice and working with Dr Schuman for my son has verb a godsend. My son’s prescription has been dropping every visit we come back, and she has been giving steady advise on exercises for the eyes to complete. I can’t imagine that he will one day not need glasses and be rid of his astigmatism! Absolutely incredible and a testament to their practice and their belief in helping the root cause of the issue. This is a very difficult review because I had an exceptional experience with the doctors, but had a horrible experience trying to get glasses. I balanced the 5 star from the former and 1 star from the latter to leave 3.The doctor I saw (Dr Spengler) took exceptional care of me and went as far as talking with my occupational therapist to ensure I the treatment I was receiving from them would be complementary with that which they were giving me. I can’t speak highly enough.However, the glasses I got arrived with the pupils in horribly incorrect places, below my pupils and uncentered. This occurred because the salesperson forgot to put them on the lenses, remembered as I walked out, put them on my face and drew quick dots. Upon receiving my glasses, I told them something didn’t feel right and was told it takes getting used to. I called up multiple times to be seen again, and Dr Spengler took 5 minutes to show me how badly the pupils were placed which was causing migraines if I left them on for half an hour (though the recommendation after I said something was wrong was to wear them often as possible, even after complaints of the headaches). Two weeks passed to get new lenses put in. I still had issues with the shape of the frames and the headaches continued. Again I was told the problem was with me, but after pushing for it, I got in to have the gram bent which fixed the issue. Now that I could finally wear the glasses for over an hour at a time, I learned the glasses left a rash on my ear, which could have been prevented if any measurements were taken or focus on fit more than the two seconds of asking “do they feel okay” by the salesperson. Unable to wear something causing constant pain, I asked if a refund was possible which it was not. I was left paying $500 for something that I couldn’t use for a month, and when I could caused too much pain to use.The doctor I saw and treatment I received was phenomenal. DO NOT get glasses from them. Any reputable retailer will at least offer a refund if all goes poorly.

Dr. Spengler was great! He got me in for an emergency appointment, and explained everything very throughly. The front desk was very helpful in getting me an appointment with a retinal specialist the next day!

Dr. Randy Schulmans expertise is exemplary. Her approach to eye care and vision goes beyond typical testing and therapies She is interested in the whole person-- the mind-body connection as it relates to the visual system. I was recommended to her from a NYC opthomologist because of a complex vision issue Ive been dealing with that many eye experts did not quite know how to treat. Ive never worked with a doctor like Dr. Randy who has such knowledge, compassion and keen intuition. My two-hour travel to get to her office is beyond worth it!

Dr Schulman is very thorough and patient with my husbands vision exams. Explains each step in the exam. I would highly recommend this doctor. Her staff is very helpful and go out of their way to answer any questions concerning scheduling billing, and fitting for eyewear.

I dont know how this practice survives with shifty front office staff. If the front office staff in my own practice did not listen or own problems, I would be out of business. Its great that this practice has interns, but the provider leaves the treatment session to the intern to perform without guidance. I recently had an appointment scheduled for Saturday, January 9th, and was told my time was for next Tuesday 1/12, a time I would not have scheduled due to my own patient schedule. Not only did the front desk staff not own the problem, the practice manager did not call like I asked in order to resolve an issue. Further, when i called today to reschedule my appointment, I was again told I was scheduled for this Tuesday 1/12/21, despite the fact that I had cancelled this appointment on 1/9. At this point, i told them to cancel Tuesdays 1/12/21 appointment again, and that I wish to no longer be their patient. As of this writing, I just got a reminder text of my appt this Tuesday. Just not professional in any way.

I have never had a good experience here. I have 4 children and we go every year for a follow up. Apparently if you cancel too many appts over the years they put notes in your file.( giving adequate notice). In meantime I am looking for a warm and friendly visit that would appreciate our business.

I have known Dr. Carr for years and he is the best eye doctor I’ve ever worked with. However, since the new manager took over the practice in Southport and in Trumbull, the service has only gone downhill. All they care about now is the money and there is a lack of professionalism and customer service all around. I tried giving them the benefit of the doubt several times, but now is the third time that I’m having serious issues with the staff and their lack of helpfulness. Starting with the manager, the staff is rude and unhelpful and has an underlying tone of “I’m better than you and don’t need you.” Beware and stay away, transferring out now as a patient to a place where I’m actually valued as a customer.

Be careful here! The coating on my glasses was scratched. The attendant took them into the dr, and then into a back room, after which the attendant said I needed new lenses. Being very familiar with optics, I knew this was not true, and was not the next step. Went to another local store, they examined, said lets remove the lens coating, and see what happens. Total success, and no charge, rather than spending hundreds for new trifocal lenses. Suggestion: watch your pocketbook.

My son was seen by Dr. Tirado and he was very thorough and took the time to make sure to get down to the bottom of my sons vision problems. Even though my son is five and can have a hard time paying attention, Dr. Tirado made sure to work with him and keep the tests interesting for him. It turned out that my son was misdiagnosed by another doctor and now thanks to Dr. Tirado we are now starting the right path and I cant thank him enough. All the other staff we worked were also very helpful and patient as well.

Honestly I have been seeing Dr. Carr for over 5 years and things were fine in the beginning but lately they have dropped the ball. Today was the last straw. In the last year, I have been shuffled around doctors and times, they have booked appointments only to miraculously not have the appointment booked like it never happened on the day of the appointment. I missed work for a very important lens fitting a few weeks ago and Dr. Carr forgot my lens, so I missed work for nothing. Today I came in for that follow up lens appointment approximately 13 minutes late for an hour and a half appointment. They would not take me and asked if I wanted to reschedule. I just left. I have been a customer forever and he won’t take me for an important appointment because I was a few minutes late to one appointment in 5 years - ridiculous. This is a lens I need immediately, but they just don’t seem to care. I am going to start looking for a new doctor.

Poor front desk staff, rotating interns, Dr uninvolved and she walks right by patients. No one ever is available for us at the eyeglass stations. Taking my son elsewhere.
