As with most Asian markets, you can find furniture next to spices and raw meat next to weird imported Vietnamese chocolates. Ya know, the standard layout. That being said, this place is still a joy to enter and peruse. Theyve got persimmons (both types), yummy oriental drinks, and so much more. They could keep the place a little cleaner though. But other than that, its fantastic.
First time here. I was surprised at how big it was inside. Tons of things, not just food, but Asian cooking items, gifts, etc. I also liked that they had grocery items from different Asian cultures like Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese, and Chinese. Also a big refrigerated section. The 2 ladies at the register were very friendly and very helpful. I went there to find 2 items I couldnt find at my usual grocery store, and ended up leaving with a box full of items for future Asian cooking projects. Will definitely be back.
Ive been going here since I was little, its been a great experience every time! Theyre always making improvements and expanding inventory, great place to check out.
Great selections and the staff is always super kind and helpful! One of my favorite places to shop for snacks!
Great market! Although the store can be a tad messy, they have quite a few options of things. This includes produce, international sauces/spices/snacks, glassware/dishes. They are primarily an international grocery store though! They have a fresh & frozen section. Easy to shop at too!
Love it here everything you need for Asian cooking and more. Produce meats noodles ramen soy sauces marinades everything
If you love cooking Asian food, this is the place to get those hard to find ingredients.place is not crowded so you can safely shop around without the worries.
If you like ramen and cook your selfThis is the place
Love this place been shopping here since my kids were little, when I can afford the has to get to Tucson still. I love the fact that the people her are honest, friendly, and very helpful. Im disabled now. The young lady was so sweet, and patient despite the line, having already rung up my order. Went and grabbed me a big bottle (juice) size of eel sause, my grandsons love it, put it on everything, including Sushi, as do I. I was buying 4 small bottles. It was $15.56, I only get $57 in FS, just increased from $16. She was nice enough to tell me they have a 64 oz bottle of the unagi sause aka eel sause, for a $1.97 more and its a lot more sause than these 3 or 4 oz bottles. I was so thankful, as it will probably last us the entire month now instead of a few days. I apologized to the 2 gentleman behind me, but thanked them as well for their patients.Other oriental markets, just let me by 2, 3, or 4 little bottles and dont say anything.
Great Asian grocery store, personnel very nice and helpful, beats the price of other grocery stores, you can find such great items for your dieting needs and many other exotic tasting foods and sauces, I recommend100%.
My favorite place for Chinese greens and other imports. Friendly employees and a very amazing selection of goods!
This store has everything...and it is divided up by type of food. There is a Japanese aisle, a Korean aisle., etc. They have bowls, plates, figurines, and vases...there is produce as well. The staff is friendly and hard-working.
Pretty good store for Chinese items mainly. I thought the produce section was quite good and clean. They also have a pretty good selection of housewares. The aisles are very narrow, which I feel is the only significant downside to this store.
I LOVE this store. True Asian products at terrific prices. They have all the good seasonings that you can hardly find any where else, like my favorite red pepper/sesame oil. Its one of the few hot oils we can use in cooking because it does not continue to burn after you eat it. If you like to cook Asian, or are just an experimenting novice, (no shame, we all were at some time) this is the is the store for you.
This place has anything you need and a bunch more for all your asian food needs
Best place for Asian noodles. Wonderful produce. Great canned items like bamboo shoots and water chestnuts. Great mushrooms. Nice staff. Clean store.
Awesome selection. Need a hard to find Asian spice our vegetable? This is the place.
I have liked this place for decades. If you can read Thai or Chinese or Kangi it would be even better as you could read the labels.
Always a delight, many vegan and vegitarian options. With a lot meal ideas and foods for date nights this place is a solid market to visit
Great selection of oriental drinks and snacks. They are expanding the selection little by little. Only down side is that their suppliers havent expanded into some stuff other stores do have. At least the cashier women are cute and friendly! 👍
Everything you need for Asian cooking and more. I can a long time in here
Always find what I need.
Great store and has great product. For me wanting to experiment with different world cuisine. Looking forward to my next visit.
Anything from food to Chinese medicine and all in this wonderful store.
Theyve been around forever! Great selection of Asian snacks, rice, gifts, noodles, dishes and a ton more.
Great as usual and as always, love this store
Need to label things better but over all great store
Great selection of asian food
Its a bit dirty and has limited grocery selection. Great for knicknacks and pots and pans but not much else. Go to Lee Lees for groceries.
Great little Asian store to shop at, has a well rounded availability of food for all. Last summer dyring the great Tucson rice shortage it was the only place to find good Adian rice in town.
Tons of stuff! Sweet staff!
Best selection on East side of town!
Delicious foodExcellent service
Nice place to shop for unique items and jasmin rice.
Cool little store
Just a cool place to shop, I always find new interesting foods i should try.
Enjoyed the store. Items from many different Asian cultures.
I stop here for bok choy and teas mostly. They have a good assortment.
Great selection, they have many things that are hard to find even in other asian markets. Many vegetables and frozen staples with a HUGE rice selection. All reasonably priced and clean!
Been shopping here for over 25 years. Great selection, good prices, and always friendly people. Dont harshly judge this long-standing Tucson establishment based on the mandatory mask issue. Its posted right on their front doors. Its a City ordinance, and G&L are complying, unlike other establishments. If you got caught NOT wearing one, thats YOUR fault. Be an adult about it.
A whole isle of nothing but ramen!
They have a large selection of Asian food, drinks, and snacks. They also have a small shopping area with Asian cookware and knick-knacks. The staff was polite and able to answer any questions I had.
Best Asian store
Always have what I need
Always helpful always have the best quality
The store was stocked with may imported items, the aisles were super clean, I will definitely be back.
Good baked pork buns in fridge case. Quick in and out.
Excellent choice of asian products. Taiwan, Japan, Korea, and Viet Nam. I found food products that Ive only seen before in Asis
A very nice grocery and shop. Still here after all these years. ❤
The lady that owns this place is amazing. She helped me when i needed it most and gave me food when I was hungry and homeless and broke. Shes an angel 👼. Thanks so much.
It is under new ownership.. They have done a good job of cleaning the store up, shelves are much neater, easier to find products..the staff is friendly and happy to see you...
Friendly service and good selection
Inexpensive spices and exotic food. Fun to see what they have.
I am so pleased to find an Asian market nearby, but the prices leave somewhat to be desired. The convenience outweighs the money, certainly. The staff was supremely helpful!
Have shopped here for years. You can find things here that you cant find anywhere else.
So glad I stopped by. I have been looking for a low sodium alternative to fish sauce and came home with a vegetarian option at 175 mgs per tablespoon. The alternative is close to 1400. Death by salt for me. Not fancy or cheap but worth it.
Ok price. Ok selection
Told me I had to wear a mask when walking in, if you dont have one theyre selling them for $.75 though. Came all the way from Bisbee. What a shame. I wanted to give them my money. Oh well. You always have a choice. The glares I recieved from the staff apon entering couldve cut through steal. That wasnt really needed I feel.
This place has Asian specialty items. Things you dont see at Frys or safeway and the prices are good.
Love the variety of the imports here!!
Locally owned. Huge selection of food items not likely to be found else where. Also many household items and gifts. Friendly staff.
I buy my 3 in 1 coffee packets and they are delicious! Its a nice bedtime treat. I share them with all my friends!
I liked it, but staff not friendly or helpful. You shop here; you are on your own!! We WILL go back, only because they have items we cannot find anywhere else in town!
Great selection of Asian noodles and vegetables.
G&L is my go-to for all sorts of things. Theres a huge variety of fresh veggies and amazing mushrooms, dried noodles, sauces, spices, teas, confections, beverages, household items, cleaning products, and gifts. Prices are right and there is always a quality selection of items. They seem to be constantly improving the store as well, upgrading equipment and keeping things neat. I love this outlet, it is my favorite import store on the east side of town. Thank you!
Great asian market for Tucson. Larger than many asian markets; about the same size as Lee Lee. Products range from asian sauces, fresh produce, frozen goods, gifts and dinnerware (pots, pans, plates, bowls, silverware).Staff is very sweet. Love this place.
Love the store always go here for my soy sauce when Im making chicken adobo the ones at the grocery store chains are filled with a lot of other additives rather than pure soy sauce which is whats needed for that Filipino dish
My family has enjoyed going to G&L for years. It is a smaller Asian market, and its primarily stocked with Chinese ingredients, though you can find ingredients from other countries as well. The produce section is a bit lacking, but it is always good quality. Take your time and browse through the aisles, you might find something in an aisle you didnt expect.
A hidden gem, we love shopping for great prices Asian groceries. Aisles are not crowded and store is clean and well stocked. Love the pork belly and vegetarian selection.
G&L is a well stocked with Asian food staples and random assortment of snacks. Cool staff.
I found just what I was looking for (and THEN some!) when my usual grocery store didnt have it! The prices cant be beat! Im one satisfied customer!
This was a very intriguing shop! Lots of food products, lovely ethnic ladies shoes! Some VERY cool dishware, chop sticks, rice cookers ECT. It made me wish I spoke Japanese so I could understand all the great foodstuffs they offer. M
My go to Asian market
Theres others with more but this one is conveniently located.
Friendly family owned!
Wow tons of good stuff in a giant store. Could be cleaner..than it would be 5 solid, plus I was charge $7.99 for miscellaneous food product- I did not buy any food product that was $7.99. I also did not get charged the discount price for a case of udon. Still, awesome produce you can not find anywhere.
The cashier is bomb-diggity... its a cute little Asian girl... keep up the customer service and Ill be coming back again and again.
A longtime Oriental market on Tucsons Eastside that is much more rewarding to visit than the unassuming exterior might suggest. Large selection of products from across Asia, including produce, crafts, & frozen foods, & some Middle Eastern ingredients as well. A bit worn around the edges & it is always a good idea to check expiration dates on canned or packaged goods, but these limitations are more than compensated for by the consistently friendly & helpful staff. Definitely the sort of place you might stop just to browse, & end up leaving with bags full of items you didnt know you wanted (or needed)!
I like fresh lemongrass and this store usually has it. Update: The store is better organized than months ago . There are more options such as brown rice and organic soy sauce. I love their candy selection.
Good prices and very neat, organized, and employees are nice
I go to this place every week to get my comforting food..Not all of the local grocery stores has Asian goods so this is my always go place but not as big as literally like Lee Lees but its accessible!
Update: The new owners are a young Vietnamese couple; they took a number of steps to improve the products sold in the store, including throwing away expired products left over by the previous owners, and changing suppliers. Very commendable. The store still has plenty of good exotic food, and I like it even more!I like G&L a lot. They have my favorite brand of Vietnamese noodles and its the only place in Tucson where I can find decent Japanese Gyokuro Green Tea. They carry a great variety of Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese products, and a good selection of spices.
Love it 🇮🇱✝️🇮🇱
They have lots of Asian products that you cant find at your local grocery stores. Great place!
If you are looking for Asian spices this is a great place, not fancy but great selection.
Nice international grocery and misc. items store on the east side of town.
The very best place in Tucson to get fresh seasonal fruits along with the nicest people that work there equals five stars in my book! I love this market and will go nowhere else to find fresh fruits and vegetables along with many other items.
I loved it it was so good. had good things cheaper than other ones.
The store is really welcoming and has fresh fruits and vegetables. If youre looking for anything they have it. If you need help they are available and they even tell could do to cook something if you ask.
Good price for me
This is our favorite Asian market in Tucson. They have fresh produce, endless types of rice, nori, sauces, seasonings, candies, several isles of unique gifts... we have to make several trips just to explore all the goodies!
Ive been going here for over 20 years, they have stuff I cant find anywhere else, thank goodness for these people, I love the variety and they maybe a bit on quiet side but really good people, always helpful. Great frozenand cleaned squid, and lots of variety of Filipino food, Chinese food ect..
Good store. Can usually find the basics of what I need. Wish the producer was fresher.
Excellent Asian market, theyve been around for ages and have always have many unique food and miscellaneous items from all over Asia.
Absolutely must get their buns, we come back almost weekly.
They had the black pearl tapioca I needed for boba, and a few things Ive never seen. The guy also was willing to order some Japanese Ikezo sake for me too. So, yes I will be back.
I have been going to this place since i was very young. They have good options for any asian cuisine as well as hard to find fruits, vegetables, and meats.
I love this place! Feels like Im going back in time to 1986 (Which theres nothing wrong with) long time customer!
They have an amazing stock of Asian Groceries and Cooking Equipment!
