I was able to call in the morning and get in the same-day for an alternator replacement. They had the parts in stock for an older car, which was great. Oscar is up-front with the customer on costs and is a pleasure to talk to/work with. They also use quality parts and have fair pricing (they were cheaper than a competitor who couldnt get me in until later in the week). They have a nice waiting area with comfortable seats if you do need to wait for your vehicle. Needing a car repair is never any fun, but Advantage Auto Repair made it as painless as possible. This is the absolute best experience I have had with a mechanics shop. Usually I leave a shop after repairs and within a month something new is wrong with my car...not this time. I called, and the mechanic said he wouldn’t even do my head gaskets, he had a very smart mouth, then he told me I would need all these different parts that I just had already done all red flags don’t take your car there this guy doesn’t even have any confidence in himself to do the job so it’s guaranteed he’s not gonna do the job correctly no matter what it is.

Wow where to begin? I first went to Advantage to have my radiator fixed. I already had the part and he replaced it with no problem. The price was so very reasonable. Ever since then Ive been going to Advantage to have Oscar and his crew work on my aging Camry. I already knew that my last few repairs were going to be costly. Oscar provided me with information to help pay for the costs. Oscar also educated me on how certain things work in the car. His team of mechanics are very knowledgeable, helpful and courteous. My experience was fantastic! I needed my AC fixed and my horn had stopped working. I went in on a Saturday and was helped as soon as they opened. They were very curteous and explained what the problem was and how they were going to fix it. I highly recommend this shop! Ive needed three pretty significant repairs in the last 3 months and Im really impressed by how quickly and accurately Oscar and his mechanics have been able to diagnose my 2001 Chevy van. Im used to shops saying, Well, I think it could be this, or it might be that... Not here.I had to have my AC condenser replaced, but Oscar was also concerned that my compressor wasnt working as well as it should. Instead of just saying it needed to be replaced, he had me get in the van and see if it was blowing cold enough for me. It seemed fine and thankfully, I was able to postpone an additional expensive repair.I drove in one day because I could smell gas, they found a crack along the top of my gas tank. Bad news! Luckily, Oscar found one at a salvage yard - which was no small feat, and saved me hundreds of dollars.This week I went in because of a persistent squeak. He diagnosed it, showed me the faulty part (that was dangerously close to failing), replaced it and sent me on my way in an about an hour. No more squeak and it drives much better. Thanks!

Had the A/c and heat stop blowing in my 2012 Mitsubishi. After doing a little bit of troubleshooting determined it could have been the blower motor but I’m not a mechanic. Stopped by this place due to the great reviews to have it looked at. 2 hours later I was driving away with a new blower motor and reasonably priced. Warrantied as well. Straight forward shop will be back again to get my next repair done.

If I could give Advantage Auto Repair 10 stars I would in a heartbeat.Oscar is so incredibly professional and kind. We first came to Advantage because our AC in our Isuzu gave out. He and his crew gave her a super thorough go over and let us know what was up (the previous owner had a new blower motor installed for extremely cheap and it was done very poorly)They topped off our oil and let us know to bring her back if anything went wrong.We just brought her back because the alternator belt was slipping and we have a few oil leaks. After an hour he let us know the leaks werent just the oil, it was also the transmission fluid and the leaks were more severe than we originally thought.We told him we were on a really tight budget and we had only planned on spending X amount.Not only did Oscar and his crew fix the most severe leaks but they replaced the belt. The job took over 24 hours, way more time and labor than they had planned and they did not charge us a dollar over our original quote. Looking over the bill, I know it wouldve cost well over twice as much as we planned.I absolutely recommend them to everyone I know. Im broken hearted that we are moving out of town and cant continue coming to this shop. I adore the team here, theyre extremely transparent with the cost, and the work they are performing.

Every once in awhile you still experience what customer service is all about. Its rare in todays world, but that is what made my experience so special. I am in Tucson working on a construction project. My truck is my most important tool. I had a front wheel bearing go out big time, to the point that I was reluctant to even drive it. I searched for auto repair shops and Advantage had good reviews so I called them. Oscar was friendly, knowledgeable, and responded within minutes with a quote. Then the shocker: when can you squeeze me in? The answer: right now, will have it done in two hours. OMG! Took the truck over, true to his word, it was ready two hours later and he stuck to his bid. Cannot recommend any higher. 10 stars if they let me. Thanks, Oscar, you will be my go-to guy from here on out.Update Nov 2020- Once again Oscar comes through. My new truck needed some work, even though I live about 30 minutes away it was worthwhile to trek down to Advantage Auto. Great and honest place to get repair work done on your vehicle. I have a Honda Pilot now but I’ve never had a problem they couldn’t help with on my other cars and suvs. I go Oscar to have all my cars Maintenance done as needed. Any car I want to buy I take to have his team check it out. Oscar is very good at giving you a mental visual of what is going on with your car and the way the work is being performed and your welcome to be there every step of the way. My experience has always been positive. Advantage Auto Repair was recommended and now I completely recommend this shop to everyone.

Definitely a place you want to go if you are in need of repairs. Nice, friendly, and helpful staff. If they cant provide what you need, they will recommend great places that do. Not really in the best area, but they dont seem to have a problem with the drug addicts and homeless people.

Advantage Auto is a family owned business by a family that cares about its customers! I have searched long and hard to find a mechanic that I can trust and depend on to do great work at an affordable price. I had a bid on some large work (rack and pinion steering replacement, motor mounts replacement, and rodent damage to wiring) and he was easily 25% less than my other quote. To make it an even easier decision, he completely evaluated all the problems without wanting to charge a diagnostic charge of $80 that the other shop wanted to find out what the Check Engine codes actually meant (it turned out to be pack rats ate my wiring). So I got a free full assessment and quote for the work. So I left my car with Oscar because of the price, his demeanor, and the great Google reviews. I am SO HAPPY that I found this shop! He was available for my questions on the couple of days they had the car. They gave me a ride back and forth to the shop. They did not go over the quote even when they found a couple of more small things. And to make it even more of a positive experience, when i went home with the car and heard a small sound, he told me to come in when convenient to me and he would fit me in. And he did. I was only there about 20 minutes total and walked out with everything working perfectly. I had an end-to-end wonderful experience at this shop. In fact, I have since gone back to get my brake pads and rotors changed out! Again, a great experience.

My wife, dog and I were driving from San Antonio, TX to California. As we were passing through Tuscon our vehicle started making sound that were not normal. We stopped for the night in Tuscon and got a hotel. After doing some research I found Oscar and his team at Advantage Auto Repair. First off advantage was the only place I found that gave free diagnostic tests. Jorge found the problem after about 5-10 mins of test driving. It turned out to be my rear struts. I ordered the parts and advantage replaced both struts in about 1.5-2 hours. The pricing was very competitive as well. Oh and I forgot to mention that Oscar let my dog Molly hang out in the lobby while we waited! I was very happy that I didnt have to break the bank to get back on the road! I called 6 different Auto A/C repair shops and they all charge $75 plus any parts and labor to diagnose and repair my mustangs AC system. I called Advantage Auto Repair and Oscar, the owner, answered the phone. I was very surprised when Oscar told me over the phone that his shop did not charge to test/diagnose the AC system...yes completely free. So I immediately drove over to his shop and I was greeted by Oscar. I told Oscar that I recharged the system myself last night and I might have over charged it because of night and day temperature differences. He connected the high pressure and low pressure gauges to my AC system. My A/C pressure was extremely high therefore my car stopped blowing cold air. Oscar fixed the A/C compressor pressure and now my A/C blows cold. Guess what?!!!! Oscar did not charge me for the diagnostics and he did not charge me to fix the pressure of my A/C system. I highly recommend Advantage Auto Repair! Thank you Oscar!

Ive relied upon Oscar several times for service on my 2008 Ford Ranger 4x4 pickup, the most extensive being a clutch replacement. When after several months the clutch pedal started feeling soft/sloppy, Oscar did not hesitate to perform a warranty check which revealed a faulty slave cylinder (slowly leaking fluid) despite being just a few months old. His mechanics had to once again drop the transmission to replace it (a labor-intensive task) but Oscar honored the warranty with no charge or questions asked. Every time Ive needed his service (rear brakes, axle seal, & leaf spring replacement) he has accommodated me in a reasonable, (more often quick) time frame. His competent, honest, and friendly service has repeatedly offered me a peace of mind that is sadly missing too often in the auto repair industry. He also LISTENS to his customer rather than assume they know nothing about their vehicle!

My sons car (97 Toyota) had a problem with the radiator. We took it to Advantage at 9:45 AM. They had to order a new one and install it by Noon! They got it all done and did a fantastic job for a very fair price.They explained in detail what they were going to do, gave a price and stuck by it. Even though it took them a little longer then originally planned due to issues with the brackets. I guess the lower brackets had some unseen issues, They just absorbed the time. They also replaced a few hose clamps at no extra charge.So I can say they are good guys and can be trusted. In fact, we are going to try them with another car we have next week. Ill let you know how it goes!

I had my water pump replaced and a year later it is leaking all over the place. Unfortunately I have since moved to Washington for work so I cannot go back. Now I have to pay another shop to fix it again. Huge bummer.

This is the worst place. I took my car in do to ac not working. After the free diagnosis they said that they could fix it. After 2 days my ac stopped working. I come to fine out they only refilled the lines with freon when the low pressure tube was busted. They had charged me about 150 dlls for that. Century Tubes N Hoses help out and did a great job making sure the ac was running properly.

I was looking for an honest, centrally located mechanic and I am VERY impressed with Oscar and his team. They did a great job on my A/C repair and only charged $80.00 after 2 other shops would not even look at if for less than $150.Ill be taking all of my cars to them from now on.

This is where you want to take your automobile. Oscar is a very knowledgeable honest person; who walked us through what our problems were, how it impacts the car as a whole,and our options to repair. One of our issues was a catylitic converter and he advised us to get a better price at a exhaust shop down the way. His friendly hardworking staff went through the process of finding out what was wrong with the car and finished the work quickly in a very busy shop.

Pretty nice service here. Took my car in for the free AC check to check for leaks. Oscar listened to the situation as I described it and got to work. He ended up finding a leak and replaced one of my AC valves for free then provided me with a diagnosis.The only reason I took away a star is because making an appointment online is impossible since the online reservation system is non-functional (but you wouldnt know that unless you tried it like I did). So, you just have to call in. Thankfully, if they dont pick up the phone when you call then theyll call you back.

2000 Subaru Forester 2.5L - coolant backing up into reservoir from radiator. Some guys told me its a bad head gasket. I called Oscar and over the phone he advised me to change out the rad cap $10. Then he said make sure to refill radiator and turn on the a/c to check . Viola! Car runs like a champ again thanks to Oscar. Thanks Oscar! 5 stars.

I had a check engine light on. Most other auto repairs want to charge me 80-100 dollars for diagnosis, which is too much for me. I called this place and they said they can have a scan for me for free. When I took my car there, they carefully inspect my car and use multiple methods to try to find the problem. They also tutor me whats the possible cause and how they diagnose the problem. Although they couldnt find the problem at the end and manually reset the check engine light and let me pay attention to see if the light comes back on in the future, I really appreciate their time and help. I called in with a grinding sound from my transmission. Every other shop I called asked for 50-100 to even look at the problem. The guys at advantage were willing to listen and lift the car for free. They found my transmission had lost 2 holding bolts so it was sagging. They fixed it for 80 bucks and it only took about an hour. Service was amazing would definatly recommed

Because it truly is. ....Heres my story.I was driving to Marana from Phoenix for a business meeting when the battery light in my Chevy Silverado came on. I called my mechanic in Phoenix and he cautioned about trying to drive back to PHoenix. I was devastated, expecting a hotel stay and inflated repair bill at the hands of someone who knew I was stranded in Tucson and need to get back to Phoenix. My mechanic recommended Advantage Auto Repair in Tucson. I called Advantage and told them I was coming, and after my meeting in Marana, I drove to Tucson and met Oscar. There was hardly a place to park but Oscar came out to meet me. He was prepared to look at my problem immediately, tested the alternator, and said I needed a new one. Then he shared the first of many great comments of the day: We can get it done today. I adjourned to the very cool waiting area. (THis was JULY in Tucson, remember!!!) A few minutes later, I went out to the service area and found Oscar looking for an alternator on the computer. The price read $477.00 Oscar told me he would keep looking and find something cheaper. I returned to the waiting room. Oscar came in and I said I would like to walk to a nearby restaurant for lunch. Would I have about 90 minutes to do that? Then he said the second great thing of the day: Ill have my staff drive you. and so I went off to lunch. I should have known it was going to end great because I had read a customer testimonial in the lobby from Irv and Barb about their experience with Oscar, one of the most knowlegeable, polite, and honest repair techs i have every met. And PHOENIX, people, be sure to go to M&M Automotive --my mechanic, John Petrusha-- the one who referred me to Oscar, and the best place for car service in Phoenix.

The owner was very rude and hostile when I informed him his employee made several mistakes. He tried waiving money in my face vs just coping to the few simple mishaps his employees made. DO NOT GO HERE THEY WILL SCREW YOU!

I took My 07 Charger in Yesterday 06/19/2013 since it was overheating. Oscar the owner was friendly and very reasonable called me back with no Diagnostic Charge or other fees gave me my quote to replace my radiator and fixed my problem. I think this is the first time i go to A Mechanic that i only had to fix one thing and got it done right the First Time, while other shops look for everything else wrong to tell you three other problems that dont even concern the main issue just to get in your pockets! Thanx again Oscar ill send you whatever business i can!

Great place

I had just gotten a new radiator mid March in Jackson, WY. It was bought at Carquest & installed at 5959. I drove from WY to Tucson mid May. After I got to Tucson I went to Grease Monkey on Speedway to get an oil change. They recommended a lot of stuff and told me I had a hole in a radiator hose, near the cap. They said I could go buy a hose and they would put it on for 90$.I took it to Advantage to get a second opinion. They took off the hose and showed me there were no holes. They advised me to get a coolant flush and a new radiator cap. They let me know the new radiator I had bought should have come with a new cap.. So I did the flush and a new cap for 160. 6 days later my car overheated on my lunch break :( but as soon as I called Advantage, the owner came to check it out, tow it to his shop and even gave me a ride to let out my dogs and took me back to work!They found that something was wrong w the radiator that had been installed in WY, got Carquest to replace it (bc it was under warranty), installed it and didnt charge me anything! They even had my car ready by the end of the day:)))

Well when my brother lived in Tucson, he always took hir car to Oscar. Very happy with the results
