Just wow. I’m from out of town and stopped here twice. The produce is of a top-notch quality. They have such a stellar selection of gluten free and vegan options. And their case of baked goods is out of this world. I grew up on the east coast and it has been a MINUTE since I’ve had a legitimate bagel. These bagels are the real freaking deal. This store is doing cool things!

Conspiracy coop has removed several good items from the shelf. Specifically kamut flakes. There is way to much oatmeal. We can get oatmeal anywhere, but we depended on the coop to offer more unique items such as kamut flakes. Kamut is a healthier replacement to oatmeal. Also, please remove canola oil from your baked goods, canola oil is very bad for health. Im surprised a store that sells a lot of health foods and herbs even adds canola oil in their own products.

Above average for CO-OP’s. They were patient with me even when I was a bit agitated about something that I could politely say was miscommunication, I suppose. I would like to strongly and politely suggested the removal of ALL Canola oil from your baked but goods etc. It is an EXTREMELY unhealthy oil in ALL forms. I would be more than happy to share information with you on this. I understand it has a low cost point and has a high heat tolerance. There are better ways. I truly believe they are trying to promote good health. Canola and other processed semisynthetic oils lead to a plethora of health issues. Aside from that seems like they are doing a pretty good job.I would also like to politely suggest more frequent check of the restrooms that include lifting up the seat. I’m sorry but it smelled absolutely disgusting in there and since there is a code on the door, they should be aware when it’s being used. In fairness it is great that a facility like this is even open right now, I suppose.I wish I got a chance to check out the hot bar / soups and verify that they didn’t use that oil mentioned above that I have such a disdain for. I got to distracted but the labeling on the prepared food products contradicting what I was told from the kitchen, even after asking repeatedly several times if they were absolutely sure what they were telling me. So sorry if I seemed a bit perturbed after this and driving for several days waiting to have access to some healthy food. Which I do appreciate greatly.

The heart and soul of 4th Avenue for half a century! The Food Conspiracy Co-Op is a wonderful place to shop for healthy, local, socially conscious produce and groceries. More than that its the embodyment of Tucsons spirit and a hub connecting the down town and university communities. If you havent shopped at the Co-Op, you havent really experienced Tucson or 4th Ave.

This is a great place to visit when youre in the Tucson area. So much Arizona made products that is offered here. It is a bit overpriced and you can find some of the same items cheaper elsewhere. I guess it was my fault purchasing items with sell by dates of 6/7 but seriously all 3 items are STALE. I couldnt finish anything What. What a waste of $15. I wont be back.

Great selection and friendly staff, but I dont like how they let panhandlers harass their customers as they walk in and out the door. One guy stood in front of the main door with a sign in my face looking for money. This man is a regular panhandler, and I recently saw him stand inside the doorway with his sign looking for money from people as they walked out. I dont want to be harassed like that. Ive seen an employee give him a dollar, and that doesnt keep the homeless away. Co-Op needs to think about the safety of the customers since we spend a lot of money there.

Vanessa goes out of her way to engage with each customer in a very positive manner, and very expertly handled the many strays that frequent this area. Fantastic selection of healthy food in any form. Excellent healthy organic grocery products. Lots of wonderful fresh produce. This is a member owned cooperative grocery and that is not only awesome but revolutionary. But well thats pinche capitalism. Onward to the rbe.

Downtown food conspiracy Co-op Demanded I wear a mask to shop in the store. I’ve been a consistent customer there for over 5 years. I felt harassed upon walking in by one of the employees. I then stated I have a medical condition the employee rudely stared into my eyes with an angry look and proceeded to let me in. I’ve never in my life felt intimated to shop at a local business. Sadly I feel more comfortable going to natural grocers or sprouts which id rather not do. But if I’m to be harassed and demanded upon aggressively I’m not sure if I’m willing to support those actions, mandated masks or not the behavior felt out of line.

This is hands down my favorite place to get groceries in town! Its not just a grocery store; its also an entire culture and community. Ive lived in Tucson for over 15 years, and when I go in I always run into at least 10 people I know. I especially love the food bar and tables where I can sit and wax philosophical for hours. 😉 And the hot food is always organic and delicious! I actually usually choose to eat here rather than a restaurant because the food is so tasty and healthy. The Co-op is an amazing place to support local farmers, be part of a collective, and also meet eclectic and interesting people.

The best fresh produce in Tucson can be found in this store. Seriously, it puts Whole Foods to shame. I bought the best bunch of rainbow chard Ive ever tasted here. A Tucson fixture for many years. Before Whole Foods, Sprouts and Trader Joes, if you wanted a health food store you went to the local co-op. Cozy little place. The produce was outstanding if a little spendy for Tucson standards. Many niche products. There are also made to eat items. I would stop by here if I needed something off the beaten path. The only downside is stay parking which we did not have a problem with being that it was late. But I could see it being more of an issue at midday.

Wonderful store full of organic and international delights. And pleasant, helpful staff. A bit expensive, as lots of natural stores are, but here you will find all the ingredients of a good meal and a great, long life. Store is well-stocked and very clean. Produce is super high quality and comprehensive. Bins of spices, rices and grains (buy fresh what you need). Fresh breads and other bakery items. Grass-fed and organic meats. Great little place to shop for home, or stop in and eat. I grabbed a lunch box from their buffet where they charge by the pound and let you choose. This store is really cool! I like what they have going on. The hot food is really really awesome! But that’s all. The grocery side of this place lacks. They never have all the ingredients that I need, so I go to Sprouts, Natural Grocers or Whole Foods and find all these newer products. Co-ops in Ca, Co and WA have such a wider range of products, that makes it extremely hard to understand why this store lacks so much. The staff at the conspiracy is so miserable. Always running around, yet there is never really anyone in there. They aren’t very knowledgeable or friendly. You gotta wonder how this store is even apart of the Co-op. It’s a good thing that none of the good people of Tucson know what a functioning co-op looks like, or they’d be highly disappointed.

Ive been a customer since I lived in Tucson back in the 90s & always stop in when Im back in town. I live in Phoenix now & the co-op (Food Conspiracy) is the only place I can find a specific tea & organic chocolate bar. On this shopping trip, I found new incense & purchased 3 scents. Heaven! The reason I didnt give 5 stars is because of the prices. I regularly shop at Sprouts & Whole foods (which is notorious for high prices), & found the gluten free products here at the co-op to be more expensive. The bulk section is good, but with the fully exposed windows & heat from the sun, it made me question the quality of the bulk stuff, especially if its been sitting in the bin for a while. Anyway, take it from a 25+ year (off & on) customer, the staff is always helpful & professional. Always friendly & knowledgeable...you just cant put a price on great customer service. Just my $.02...I LOVE this store.
