We enjoyed our visit here. Workers were nice and gave the kids an experience we were expecting. The number of people was limited so lots of social distancing which we appreciated.

I went here with my brother and boyfriend, it was great! They have a reasonable limit for how many people are allowed in the store and it doesnt tend to be too crowded (Ive been there twice in COVID-19 times). I will admit that there arent many options for toys in the store, but I doubt young kids will mind that too much, and if you really do then youre able to order specific ones to stuff in the store!Of course an added bonus for being very welcoming to customers on the older side :)

Its a little expensive but a fun experience.. The 5 star rating is strictly for the staff. The staff (at the southcenter location) are AMAZING. They seemed to truly enjoy their jobs and were so patient with my son and niece.

Ugh. Maybe I am just grumpy but this experience was pretty mediocre. I went in with and older teen for a special purpose yet the staff seemed to have problems adjusting their schpiel to match the age group. They were treated like a 2-year-old and were visibly uncomfortable being spoken to in that manner.Not sure of the cause of the lack of products here but choices of bears and accessories was sorely lacking as well.

Fun experience for your child. Or your inner child. To find a new stuffed friend and bring it to life. Give it an outfit, maybe a voice? Stuff it till its the perfect softness and then make sure they get their heart. Finish with a name and a birth certificate then watch your child glow.

So much fun watching my grandson pick out a birthday bear and watch it be made. He really enjoyed watching the bear get filled at the big machine filled with all the stuffing. He really liked pushing the pedal with his foot to operate the machine. Very friendly place.

Its Soo nice!! I love the energy of the employees there, I went to buy a bear for my niece and even tho my niece wasnt there, they made me feel like a kid again. It was a lot of fun.

Went for my daughter and her 6th Birthday. Always a great kiddo experience.Long wait (1hr+) due to social distancing, and your whole group needs to be with you upon entering.

Good customer service and my daughter had fun going through the build a bear process like helping stuff the bear and giving it a heart.

Not the best BAB out there. They were completely out of scents when we went to get our bear restuffed. They also only had Disney character or holiday themed clothing but no everyday street clothes for the bears. They did have masks 😷 for the bears, and matching ones for the kids, which is a nice touch during Covid.

Super fun time, workers are so nice and really made my grandbabies bday a funtime.

As someone who works there, its pretty great from my POV. Theres a good balance between generating business and creating a genuine memory with lots of fun. Despite my discount, I will say it can be easy to set what ever budget you want and still get to have fun. The only possible con would be the amount of time it might take. You could very well speed run the whole thing in nothing more than 3 minutes, and if you want that we can. But there is a big focus on the experience of it all, we like to make sure everyone who walks in feels important and enjoys there time there. Overall I like working there, and I would recommend anyone to stop by.

We waited 2 hours and 15 minutes to enter the store with only 3 families in front of us. Absolute zero sense of urgency, no indication of the wait offered to people in line.... just terrible.People waited in line 45 minutes before just leaving.... and an employee shows up in the middle of the rush - cuts the line - to work on some bears she already paid for but hadnt finished.Rarely in my life have I ever seen such outright apathy and disregard for the customers experience. Just terrible. It should never take 55 minutes per customer to build a damn bear in an automated bear building store. People should be ashamed...

Cute but tiny location.

This location was so helpful and kind even with a long wait and lots of people. Im really glad we went when we did. The employees helped us through all the covid rules and took pictures of us for us. Thank you so much 🎉

I love Build-A-Bear! I never went as a kid and then I didnt think about it when I was an adult. However, I went for the first time a few months ago and now Im hooked!This store is open during COVID-19 with new safety precautions in place. They limit the number of customers in the store at a time, so you might have to wait outside. They also have markings on the floor to encourage social distancing.Of course they have plenty of teddy bears there, but they also have other types of animals and they have tons of licensed characters (Harry Potter, Pokemon, Star Wars, Marvel, etc). There are also a ton of cute clothes and accessories.The first step is to choose an animal and they have most of them on display. Grab a skin and then head over to the Stuff Me section. This is where most of the customization takes place. You can add a sound button inside your friend that plays a song, says a catchphrase, or you can record your own message. You can also add a scent. My favorite scents are cotton candy, birthday cake, and bearied treasure (pineapple coconut). You should also decide whether you want your friend soft and squishy or fully stuffed.Before they stitch everything up, they do something called the Heart Ceremony. I think every employee does it a bit differently, but it is really fun and it brings your new friend to life!It is a little annoying because some of their products are available online only, but you can usually buy the animal unstuffed and then bring it to your local store to finish the process. Things can also get pretty expensive, but they have sales all the time and you should definitely sign up for the Build-A-Bear Bonus Club, where you can earn points and get coupons for future purchases.

Amazing service, pricey but good

I had been wanting a build a bear since I was a little kid. Yesterday was my 28th bday and I decided to go ahead and get one as my souvenir for visiting Seattle. The staff was soooooooo nice and I had such a wonderful experience. Thanks ladies

We love this store!!! The staff was so nice as soon as we walked in, they took care of all of our needs! The layout of the store is fluid for easy step by step building for the kids! The options are endless for the kids to customize their furry friends to their liking! Will return many times and I recommend to anyone, even adults. These are quality stuffed animals that will last a lifetime if properly taken care of. And the experience is always fun!

We had a birthday party for two of my boys and it was fabulous! The party leader was organized and fun. The games for the kids were great and my kids all love the bears they made. Wonderful memories. We went to the one in the South Hill mall. If youve been there before, I think they just moved to a different part of the mall. My baby girl wants her party there, too.

We love build a bear! We are so happy to have this store in south center. We get a new bear for my daughter every birthday and she looks forward to it all year. We cant wait to see what she chooses in April! This location is always clean and well organized and the staff is friendly and helpful. They take their time with the kids and really make it a special experience.

Got a squishy strawberry-scented llama. There was only 1 person there, so check-out was a little slow. But they were very friendly and I love my llama so it evens out. 👍

Experience here was awesome! They have a cute little system of the building process that leaves the child in wonder. Took my son and my 2 younger sisters there. Each of them got a bear and each of them left loving it. Staff were very friendly.

Wanted to use a gift card and forgot at first so the clerk redid the receipt so I could get that discount. She was so kind.

The workers are all so Nice and sweet. The bears are of good quality and the have a lot of stuff to choose from. All the clothing was afordable and had nice detail on them. The were also lots of styles to chose from one for every child. I had such a fun time, a real family trip. We brought back a lot of bears with different sents and real beating hearts (such a cute detail) we will be visiting again defently.

Yeah, I went to Build-a-Bear on my 27th birthday and have no shame! What’s great is the staff there only promoted that and treated me so sweetly. I was able to get an Eevee and Kylo Ren bear on their BOGO $10 deal. It was a ton of fun and it honestly was just as special as when I was kid and went to BaB. 💕

The staff is unfriendly to parents. We werent sure where to line up for step 2 so we just stood where everyone else was standing. When it was our turn to stuff bears, the woman acted very put out and said, the line is actually over there. When someone else came up and stood next to us, she politely let her know where the actual line was.When you check out, youre asked the same promotional questions multiple times. No is not a sufficient answer for them. Too pushy. Thankfully this is not somewhere we will ever have to go again.

I really enjoy this location. The staff is real friendly with kids. I am glad I took my child to this one before the Tacoma one. I feel lile the southcenter location is so well taken care of. Yes the prices are pretty expensive but I went in expecting that. My child loved her experience and her new friends.

Was told that most of the things I want are online so that was helpful also look up the event pay your age its a wonderful event when you pay for a stuffy at the age of the child you are getting it for.

The woman Kirsten was super friendly and helpful. She made our one year olds first build a bear experience a memorable one!

Nothing is more unsettling than watching a child pick out a bear design, then choose hundreds of dollars of accessories for it, only to have a burley minimum wage store assistant ram a steel rod up the Bears bum and fill it with stuffing. For more trauma, book a party and freak out a whole bunch of children. True family fun, for a huge price.

Personable and efficient staff members. Great location too! They had all the Seahawks items my son was hoping to find on our visit to Seattle that cantbe found in the SF Bay Area stores! A real perk for him! Would definitely return!

We love Build-A-Bear and go there often but I have to recommend the Tacoma one over this one since this one doesnt have a bear bathing area. Most of the staff is very nice but one of the ladies that works there should not be working with children

Pay your age event went horrible. They turned away a lot of people. And they once that stayed there was staying until 7pm ar least. They made it very difficult to wait there on hot sunny day. Thanks to Dukes chowder house for bringing out water for moms with kids. And they would let little amount of people in the store. And made it rest of the people wait really long time. This kind of events should be well thought and organized. Why dont they do it on kids birthday month pay with your age so its not that big of the lines. And such a long wait.
