On a Sunday, this place was my life saver. The nicest staff. They know their job. In and out in no time with the problem solved. Clean waiting room. I will use this place for all of my car care needs.
Very pleasant and forthcoming about The Service And parts
Very good place and they just renovated and have a new waiting room w very cold a/c! Convenient location and good work done. Under new ownership!
They lady that worked on my car was real nice and got me back on the road decently quick alittle high price for battery and installation but all in all convenient
These guys are professionals and Ive always got my vehicles in and out in a short amount of time for the amount of work they do it always seems like they do more than a pound for my car comes out better than it came in all ways
They had all four tires mounted and back on the road in about 30 minutes! Awesome crew!
Made an appointment for an oil change. Called the store looking to get an estimate on how much this would cost so I knew what to put in my budget book. Some guy answered the phone. Didn’t acknowledge my question. In fact didn’t say anything at all when I finished wording my question. Didn’t respond at all. Hung up the phone and promptly canceled my appointment.
The tires & service center is still open and they are great. I would definitely recommend them.
Ive read through most of the reviews on this, and many of them were from people who NEVER ACTUALLY USED THE SERVICES! They just called and decided to slam the place based on a phone call. And I happen to know from one of the techs who works there that the woman with the Pirelli tires brought her car in completely abused after she ran over something. The suspension was completely Fd, and she had to have the whole car re-aligned. In fact, the rim was so damaged in front that they had to switch it to the back in order to reduce the vibrations. Pirelli tires are not sold at that store, and she did not have new tires put on. The tires CAME IN THAT WAY! If you want your car serviced at a reasonable price at a convenient location where you can go across the street to Walmart or the Mall, this is the place for you. The master mechanics there are ASE certified and deeply care about the quality of the work done, and the techs there are conscientious and experienced.
PSA DO NOT GO HERE ! I just brought my car in to pep boys in March 15,2020 and all they did was reset the oil life on my car . Meaning they did not put any oil in my car and I paid$50 for nothing. The only reason I found out is because my husband actually checked the oil in our car and wiped the stick and no oil came off the stick was so clean it was still silver. I went back to my dealership told them the problem (I just bought this car) they checked it and didn’t see not one leak everything was perfect on the car .. We went ahead and put oil in our car and the car has stopped jolting like it was earlier . So save your money and go somewhere else .
Horrible. Every single time. Only went there after many years of not going when I couldnt get my first choice elsewhere as they had buy3/get1 and free install on my second choice. L/S, damaged my front left panel, like a tool was dropped on it. Fresh flecks of paint still sticking. Manager claims to have reviewed footage of the install an no harm was done (same manager that I had to argue with to convince him of the correct OEM tire size for my vehicle, mind you) When asked how to file a damage claim this man insisted that there was no way possible to do so or that any avenue at all existed to resolve this issue. He then corrects himself under further pressure saying that he has the ability to submit said complaint but would not since they were not at fault. While I understand the restrictions on allowing me to see any sec camera footage, lying to me and then simply unilaterally deciding they were not at fault. A call to corporate resulted in a pending investigation. Ridiculous.
They spend my time unnecessarily. They gave me an appointment on the phone and when I showed up on the scheduled time, they said that they dont do the job anymore. I expect them to call me and cancel the appointment. This is non- ethical and waste of time and money on my side. The man at the counter didnt even apologized for cancelling the job, he just said that he misunderstood while talking to me on the phone. Sad, but thats how they are.
I Called and asked about having work done and Guy Said thy dont have a Parts Department if thts So thn How do thy work on Cars They make Pep Boys look Bad
Great place to go for you auto repair needs great staff
Good tires, good price, helpful employees
Fast and good coupons available. Friendly service and they wear their masks.
Very friendly and helpful. Prices are a little higher than most places but worth the quality of service you get.
The manager, Steve, has always been very helpful and professional when dealing with me. He has always been very prompt in getting my vehicle ready and completing any work that needed to be done. His staff has also been friendly and polite.
Pepboys is a good store a little high on some items but overall great olace
Never again. Its been a long time since a company has let me down so many times in a row, but this particular Pep Boys takes the cake. I realized over a year after buying brand new Pirelli P-Zero tires at this location that two of my four tires were on inside out (asymmetrical tread facing the wrong direction). I brought the car back to the store to have the tires rotated and mentioned that they put them on inside out so they would make sure to get it right this time, and of course when I pick the car up, one of the rear tires was on inside out AGAIN. This of course means one corner of the car has drastically different grip properties, especially in rain. NOT SAFE. I mention it to the guy at the counter, and he first starts making excuses for the tire tech, saying he must have done that because of the way the tire was worn. As if theres any rational excuse at all for it. So we walk over to the tire tech and ask him why he did it, and he swears up and down that all four tires are on facing the correct direction. Of course he makes a shocked face when he sees one tire really was on backwards. To top it off, there are now oil blotches on my cloth seats from where the tech neglected to use any sort of seat cover. If youre comfortable with the idea of unqualified teenagers in charge of one of the most vital car components responsible for keeping you safe, by all means, let Manny, Mo and Curly change your tires. Absolutely would not recommend.
DO NOT GET ANY SERVICE FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!After three weeks of waiting and almost $3,000 later, all they’ve done is make more problems for my car.Absolutely horrrible, if you get your car serviced here and something happens after you get it back, don’t expect them to take responsibility. Three weeks they had my car, pulled my motor and everything. The day I get it back I’m having problems, not even 10 min after leaving my car started smoking, I thought it was burn off from leftover oil or coolant, I was wrong. fluid was leaking from somewhere. Nothing was working as it should. My power steering started going out and my breaks almost couldn’t let me stop, almost putting me in multiple car accidents. After taking it back it has now been two days without my car and they haven’t even looked at it. I then called them and their manager said “we aren’t responsible for your mistakes” They will put the blame on you even if it was their “mechanics” fault. 0/10 would not recommend to anyone. Take your car to a mechanic that know what they’re doing. These guys will do nothing but make you spend more money and do little to no work.
Just a horrible experience. Never again, Pep boys.
They were rude and I caught them in a lie twice. And they completely over inflated the price of the work. Added work that didnt need to be done. Took my vehicle somewhere else and got all the same work done for a third of the cost. They should be ashamed of themselves and lose their jobs and if this is behavior is condoned by the management he should be let go too.
They were remodeling. But they got us in and out in an hour.
Absolutely horrible service! I purchased AC recharge and it went out Two weeks later after I was charged for the service evaluation and the recharge and their one and only certified AC mechanic is out with Covid and they dont know when I can get in for a service!
Don’t do it!I had a scheduled appointment to install 4 new tires. It took over 2 hours and the reason it took so long is because they put someone else’s tires on my car and my tires on someone else’s car. Customer service was horrendous. The guy at count didn’t really care he was taking up my time. Also got quoted a price that wasn’t upheldThere really should be an option for NO STARS!
Sorry for the one star, it is just that I needed 1 tire (2 months old, whole set) and was told that they were booked all day, hints only 12:15, and to wait to buy 3 get 1 free Cooper, duh, that was the deal I got...but, congrats on not needed any business, there is five stars in there, somewhere
DONT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY. Took my car to get oil change. Oil change supposed to include tires rotation, which they didnt do. Also, whoever worked on my car didnt even snap the engine cover back on properly. He or she simply left it on top of the engine to make it looks like they snapped it back on. The engine cover could have fallen off and wedged between moving parts in the engine bay. First and last time. WILL NEVER SHOP AT THIS LOCATION AGAIN.
Wont honor a warranty with an online receipt for a battery I bought less than 60 days ago. Battery was bad when it was sold and had sat on a shelf for over a year. Avoid these boys like the plague. EDIT: I responded to the email address as requested. They have no idea who I am because they keep no records and it took a week to confirm I wanted to escalate my case. Wasting more of my time and money. One of the worst retail experiences I have ever had. Never did call me back after asking if I wanted to escalate my case.
Worst customer service GUARANTEED!!! Took my car in for the free AC check thats mentioned on the website... was told the freon was over full & they wanted to charge me $250 to release the excess & do a leak test... Im no rocket scientist but if there was a leak, it wouldnt be over full. I asked for my keys to take it elsewhere, then they tried to charge me $61 for the leak test. I never authorized them to do a leak test, just the free diagnosis. The guy threw my keys at me and told me to get out. He knew he was wrong! Trying to take advantage of a single mom... smh!
Steve is the best
I went to the shop and i didnt feel i was welcome in although i was wearing a mask as instructed. I watied the man untill he finished his call ..all what i have was a simple flat repair. I told the front desk guy to try helping me as my apartment is far and i Dont want to drive on my flat tire. He told me i have to wait 4 hours! He said i have 1 technician. I went back to there fixing areas it was empty and not working on anything!I can give any one excuse of being busy but no excuse not to be friendly!
LISTEN I DIDNT READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE GOING HERE BUT PLEASEEE DONT WASTE YOUR TIME MONEY THE MANAGER IS VERY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL I TOLD HIM I WAS GOING TO CALL THE CORPORATE OFFICE ON HIM AND HE TOLD ME GOOD LUCK I WONT BE THE FIRST OR LAST PERSON WHO TRIED DOING THAT. HE NEEDS TO BE FIRED HES RUNNING OFF GOOD CUSTOMERS AND GIVING THIS COMPANY A BAD NAME!
I took my truck in yesterday to get my spark plugs replaced on my 05 F150and keep in mind truck was running fine before this. So I went and paid for the service and everything was okay not the best customer service. And then proceeded to driver home well my truck is now making a engine knock and every once in a while will start to make a really bad sounds and it’s just loud and doesn’t sound good at all like something is about to blow up and it’s just horrible so not a good sign ohh and couldn’t help but notice they didn’t test drive the vehicle to even see if it was fine so they really could have taken a few precautions to make sure it was done right but now I have to miss more work to see if they will fix what they screwed up just great!!
Save yourself some time, go literally anywhere else.
BEWARE - THERES A SCAM HAPPENING HEREI brought my car in for an oil change and tire rotation. When I picked it up, the air conditioner doesn’t work. I called and they welcomed me to bring it back and bill me for a/c work.Of course the manager is not available. I’m in contact with corporate and waiting to see how they respond.
Very nice place to fix your car! Always a reasonable price and great workers!
Kathi was so friendly and helpful. Offered to check prices on items for us. Was so kind and engaging with our children. Need a Kathi at every store. So glad we popped in on a rainy evening just to look around. Found some great deals too! Will be back and hope to see Kathi again.
Buyer Beware! This shop takes advantage of elderly customers. My 80 yr old mother took her Equinox in to have the AC recharged. Was told a complete diagnostic was performed and needed new lines, valve kit, relays, etc....$600 later...drove her car less than 10 miles and AC is blowing hot air again. Back to Pep Boys, another round of diagnostics now showing hole in compressor...another $600. I took it to the local Chevy Dealership...they said yes there is a hole in the compressor that any trustworthy shop should have seen during the initial diagnostic. The dealership said a dye diagnostic had not been performed on this car! Back to Pep Boys with this new information....the Manager at Pep Boys said I dont care what the dealership says! and would not even consider any type of refund! This Pep Boys takes advantage of elderly customers and charges for services that are unnecessary! Do not let your friends or family take their vehicles to the Pep Boys at 6714 S Memorial Dr, Tulsa, OK 74133
Would give zero stars if I could. Terrible experience. Over priced my boyfriend for a headlight. Drove my boyfriends car around front with hood still open. And ripped the guard off, didnt put it back on and lied to my boyfriends face about it. Never going back.
Service department has always been questionable. Also, they have signs at ONE of the two locations in Tulsa that says parts store closed for good with both stores locked up. They arent courteous enough to put this information anywhere else though, so youll waste time and gas driving there for auto parts. Not surprised, as it IS Pepboys afterall. Theyve always been a little skeevy
Service agent by the name of Jeremy was excellent. His customer service was what I consider perfection. Jeremy was polite, helpful and always smiled at the customers. I was a customer service supervisor for 17 years and he would definitely be a number one for me. Jeremy is the reason I will return with my business to his store.
Decent store but its kinda weird as a lot or most of the Pep Boys are. They carry Purolators line which has premiun choices in filters which smart folks prefer.
Had some detailing supplies that I havent found anywhere else yet. Good prices.
My wife took her Subaru to Pep Boys in August for a new battery. They told her she needed a new alternator. The charge for the battery was $195.00, the alternator, $385.00, including installation. New serpentine belt $85.00, including installation, plus $35.00 for going to pick it up. THEN, having picked up the WRONG alternator, they had to return to their supplier for the RIGHT one, so they charged her ANOTHER $35.00 for THEIR mistake. PLUS $45.00 for “electrical inspection,” which their own statement indicates as “customer declined.” Total cost = $784.00. Called about the Electrical Inspection And was told, “We charge only what the customer approves.” Told that his own statement indicates the customer declined it, I was told “She must have approved it later.” Bottom line: No retreat on Pep Boys part, so we have to eat it. We will never go there again.
Went in for new tires and was told my rotors needed repair work. After the work was completed, noticed there was an issue with the vehicle. Despite being able to show the work was done incorrectly, the shop decided not work with me on the cost of the repairs. Had the work corrected at another shop. I’ll be looking into some options regarding the cost of the work done by this shop. Really disappointed with the management team here.
Had a great experience! Came in for a break inspection and I was helped quickly and got the problem figured out. Tim is the guy who helped me out. Excellent customer service from him. Definitely would recommend someone based on my experience.
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
I always receive great service at this Pep Boys and the associates who work here were exceptionally professional. They take great care of my car and concerns. I definitely recommend this location.
Love the service department! Steve was so helpful both on the phone and when we arrived w/our tire that had a hole. We had a warranty on the tire but had purchased them from a PepBoys in another state and since the computers werent linked Steve directed in the right direction to get started. We called the store where the tires were purchased, had them email the work order from the actual purchase, and Steve was able to get the info he needed from there. He then got our tire back and repaired w/in 2 hours as promised! Thanks for being great as always, PepBoys/Steve!
Told me to bring my truck in for an alignment “after 4” today..finance takes it in at 4:45 and they say it’s too late.. Firestone just said $15 cheaper anyways 🤷♂️ Terrible customer service.
My visits and doing business with Pep Boys has been excellent for about ten years or more. I get good service and great bargains.
Some people dont understand that quality takes time... I make an appointment each time I go and I prepare to either stay a while or go do other things while my vehicles are serviced. Ive had nothing but great experiences here and will continue to bring all 3 of my vehicles here. I show them a great attitude coming in and I get great attitudes and service in return.
I have been bringing my 1998 ISUZU Hombre to this location to be serviced and repaired when necessary for years. The service manager Mike is always helpful, friendly and gets me in and out in a timely manner. In a fast paced world it is refreshing to have someone take time with me to explain everything in a clear, concise, and friendly way. Mike is certainly an asset to this store and I look forward to doing business with him again. Keep up the good work, a very satisfied customer.
Car trouble ranks just under going to the dentist or buying a new cell phone. That being said half of the time time I’ve had to go to Pep Boys I’ve been pretty grumpy. The guys there are always very nice and helpful. I appreciate their service and assistance with all my issues. Thanks
Had to get a tire they patched redone, because they hadnt cleaned the tire before patching. During a previous visit, also they told me I had an oil leak and showed me where the oil pan had oil around the gasket. Found several other problems during that visit. Took car to another shop and, amazingly, no oil leak or any of the other issues. They did find a dirty air filter and battery terminal corrosion that Pep Boys missed.
Great service
Welp. I woke up to get coffee and donuts and my tire was flat. Had to call AAA to put the donut on because either I’m lazy or just couldn’t figure it out. I asked the mechanic’s advice about what to do and he mentioned pep boys or any tire shop could have plugged the tire for me. I decided to try pep boys. I went into the service area and the guys were working hard in the back because they didn’t notice me come in. I was a little hyped because I was stressed and I didn’t want to be a jerk so I was trying to practice gratitude. When they guys came out they asked me what was wrong, I told them I need them to plug my tire and maybe rotate them. They were all nice, including a young fellow you liked strawberry donuts. Sorry I don’t remember your name dude, but I was joking with him and felt that he would do a good job. He did. My tire was fixed, he aired up all my tires, they even looked shiny. I mean, what?! That’s awesome. He solidly helped me out. You guys are great. Thank you. Fours stars cause you need a bell that tells you when people come in. I know, why do I have to be so picky. I’m just honest. Respect.
Bought tires here a little less than 6 months ago and they’ve been leaking for the past 3. Terrible quality tires from a terrible quality franchise.
I hate to leave a bad review so Ill just leave a review. This place is generally does not have many people on staff and sometimes it is hard to find anyone to help. That being said they try their best to get you in and out as quick as possible and make sure that you find what you do want when they have time to help you or there is someone available. I will say that I have had several things quoted for prices to have done on my car. They always seem to be overpriced for the small amount of work I was having asked to be done. Great place if you just need to pick up odds and ends for your vehicle and not really deal with people in general.
NEVER AGAIN. Brought my car in to have two new tires mounted and balanced. The cashier said it should take 30 minutes or less and I came back over a hour later. And my car was untouched. The cashier claims the mechanics girlfriend had a accident but that is no excuse when there was 3 other mechanics working. Good luck ever getting my business again Pep Boys.
Terrible service in the store. Employees have no idea where anything is located. Had to wait 10 minutes at the checkout because there was no one available to take my money. This was on a sunday afternoon with only one other customer in the store. I finally left the item i wanted to purchase on the counter and left. This was my last visit to pep boys. I have shopped at pep boys since they opened, but never again. I have watched the service and staff competency drop to an all time low. Dont waste your time or money with these bozos.
Dont waste your time or money. Should of read the reviews first. Pep Boys when finishing up putting my tires back on forgot to put all the lug nuts back on. Called them to tell them the problem after being put on hold forever. Instead of doing whats right. They told me they were going to review the FILM and get back with me about why they didnt do there job correctly. NO RETURN CALL NO RETURN CUSTOMER
Went there March, 10th to get something I live 30 min from the nearest one but they had something I needed, I got there there 7:53(they closed at 8) and was denied entry, it was going to be a quick in and out (I also work at a part store I know how it is, but denying customers entry is a different story)said he had a store full of customers, parking lot had 3 cars and that is counting mine, I will go there another day to get the one thing only they stock then I will never set foot in there again
Steve (service manager) is the best! Got me taken care of in a very short time with very little notice. Thanks STEVE! 👍
I bought and had tires installed. They made 3 attempts to balance them we no success. In the end they paid hibdon tires to balance them pretty sad. The manager said it was due to having all new guys. This was over a year ago but i hope it has since changed but i will never go back to let them work on any of my vehicles again.
I had an oil change appointment for 11 and it took them 15 minutes to talk to me and a total of 30 minutes to finally take my car back to get the work done. The oil change took about 35 minutes. The bathrooms were disgusting and the facility needs a face lift but the staff was friendly and wanted to get me the best discount possible. Be sure to ask for the $20 every oil change discount. I probably wont go here again unless I have over an hour to wait.
The employees know what they are doing and are really good at explaining it to people that do not know very much about cars. I got a headlight changed for $20 and it took 20 min, very fast service!
Nice big store. I ordered on line then picked it up at the store. Employees very nice and helpful.
Made an appointment to get my oil changed in the summer while away from my then-fiance (a mechanic himself) and was very impressed with the customer service. They had a promotion going on and automatically gave me a discount. They inspected my car, found that the wipers needed replacing, and charged me only for the wiper blades, not the labor involved. Said wipers are still working, even though Im in a Utah winter with my now-husband.
The experience was not good, I ended up not doing business these peol×
I want to thank the manager and Jeff for helping me with my alternater. Even though the first one was not working! Jeff stayed after his shift and fixed it!
I wish I could give 0 stars. First of all, the morbidly obese salesman that works the front is rude and arrogant. After getting my oil changed and coolant flushed and replaced, he proceeded to tell me that the health products that are my business do not work to help people lose weight. He is probably over 400 pounds mind you. Second, I overheard him talking to his mechanic about something about my car, and it sounded like he was trying to be quiet. My car has never ever had any coolant leaks or oil leaks. After paying almost $200 for the service which is crazy expensive, I noticed the next morning that a lot of my coolant had leaked out onto the concrete outside my home. So I took my car back in to tell them that they may have left the lower hose slightly loose, they inspect it and tell me that there is a leak. Well they use a high pressure device to blow the coolant out from the top, and I know for a fact that this is what caused my coolant leak. I have rebuilt engines and I was formerly an engineer, so I totally understand most all mechanics of engines. I dont do my own work anymore because I dont have time. So I trusted these guys and they screwed up my engine. The mechanic offered to put it on the lift to look under the engine, and the obese salesman them broke into the conversation to tell me how I can pay for a leak detection test. Long story short, do not use this location, go across the street to walmart, its cheaper anyways.
Did an adequate job with adequate parts. The wait was tolerable. Waiting room was okay.
This pep boys offers by far the worst experience I have ever had when it comes to car services. Ive already made a complaint with the company and for the sake of brevity will just post the same thing here.tl;dr pep boys drained my vehicles transmissions without the proper fluid in stock keeping me there for 7 hours and then overcharged me 92$ for the pleasure of their company. All of this while lieing to me continually and using the wrong gasket on my corollas transmission.Jumping right into the complaint I wanted to reach out and let you know of the service I received today for a scheduled transmission flush on two vehicles. My partner Kellie and I were told we would only have an hour wait for each vehicle. We ended up spending close to 7 hours waiting on our vehicles to be turned back over to us. On top of that we were overcharged (see attached receipts) for the Kia soul by 92$. The wait was due to several mishaps with the inventory system apparently saying you had the proper stock of both the transmission filter and the transmission fluid which you did not, for either vehicle. This wouldn’t have been an issue If we were notified by the technicians of the shortage before they drained our vehicles of the transmission fluid. At this point we had no other option but to wait for them to procure some transmission fluid. When they told us they didn’t have the proper fluid they also informed us that they didn’t have the proper filter for the Toyota corolla. It was then they gave us the option of reusing the filter in the car or having them order one from another store. I told them not to order another filter and just to reuse the one they had.20 minutes later they tell me that they had damaged the gasket for the transmission pan and it was necessary to order another filter so they could get another gasket since the gasket isn’t sold by itself. I told them to do what they needed to do to get my cars back to me because I was ready to leave. They ended up telling me that they couldn’t get another filter without special ordering it (I called Toyota and they informed me that the transmission filter is not meant to be changed on this model) so that meant they were having trouble getting a gasket.I was told towards the end of all of this that they had somehow found a gasket and they would be finishing up soon. I don’t know how they got the gasket and when I called Toyota I was informed that the gasket isn’t sold by itself just like the pep-boys technicians had told me earlier. Toyota directed me to bring the vehicle to them so they could inspect it and make sure of the work done to it. This means I had to leave my car with them for the rest of the weekend. Now my fiancé is left without a vehicle and we are having to share one. I asked for a reimbursement of the charges i incurred for having to take the toyota to the dealership and was told they would submit a ticket and i would hear back from them. I never did.
Parts is parts.... got some tires, reasonable good tires. They are holding up as well as cheap tires should.
Service was great. Very upset with their bait and switch tactic. At the time when I scheduled the appointment, I told the guy that I wanted the definity tires. When I arrived for the appointment, I was told that they dont carry the definity tire in stock. I needed new tires or I would have walked away. I ended up paying $30 more per tire. Bait and switch tactic worked for pepboys. This will be the last set of tires I buy from pepboys
Thank you guys for the work you did today! The customer service, the diagnosis of the problem, the price and paying for my Lyft to my house and back.... well, you went above and beyond. Hopefully I wont need you again, but if I do, I wont go anywhere else.
We went in looking for rims for my vehicle. The rims we were looking at said they could get them in the size I needed for my vehicle. When we talked to the guy in service parts he never once came out to look at the rims I wanted and just looked on the computer and said he couldnt get them in that size and when we told him the sign by the rims said he could he replied by saying that sign dont mean anything. Didnt bother coming out and looking just wanted to sit in that chair.. Not professional at all
I drove from Okmulgee.to use pep boys in Tulsa, I bought a set of tires from them 2 years ago, have used them for oil changes, tire balancing, etc, we were very patient, went shopping close by, 2 hrs later, they basically called me a list saying that it was not their tire I brought back for warranty, but when we had a blow out on a Sunday, they were too busy to take care of us, so we had to go to someone locally, so they wouldnt honor it. We wont be using pep boys again
Had a great experience. Took a tad bit little longer than expected but honestly faster than I expected anyways. Talk to BlackJack, hes the man! 5 Stars!!
We took our car in for brake problems and were told we needed a brake booster, which would have to be ordered. Later, we received a call saying we actually needed a master cylinder, not a break booster. That repair was made. We took the car home and not only were the breaks still not working properly, they were worse. They were also now making a squealing noise. We took the car back and were told that in addition to the brake cylinder we DID also need the brake booster. We paid an additional $640 for that. Driving the car home from PepBoys now, the brakes are making a grinding noise. The mechanic is gone for the day, so I suppose well have to take it back again tomorrow.
Went for a simple tire rotation Friday at 5pm and they said everyone had left who does that, 4 hours before close! Rescheduled for Saturday first available appointment at 10a. One person was at the desk and it took 15 minutes until I was greeted, then he had to answer 2 phone calls before he got to me. My truck didnt even go on the lift until 1215 and didnt get done until 130. Just for comparison my maxima also needed an oil change and it was taken in at 1145 with NO appointment to Jackie Cooper and they were done by 1230. Both Jackie Cooper and pep boys quoted 1.5 hours for the service needing done.
Went in yesterday to get a new battery. They didnt put the hood prop in the right place so it went through and damaged my hood. They broke the prop off trying to get it out and never said a word. Just laid it back in there and I was driving around with this unknowingly. I noticed yesterday afternoon and went back and showed them. They were supposed to review video and get back to me. Plus the vacuum hose has a hole. My car is in the shop as I type getting repairs from a simple battery change. Not sure what will happen with my hood and hood prop. No communication from them at all at this point.
Want to buy a dash cover? They will say they will order it. But, guess what they do!? They cancel the order, without telling. And still expect you to pay for it!
Quick no nonsense service on a Sunday!! Changed rear shocks in less than two hours.
Love it here!! Best customer service ever! Theyve helped me several times and answer any questions I have, thoroughly. Go here!!
Very friendly and helpful employees in tire and service department!
This may be an OK place to go for tires (I wouldnt know, I buy my tires from a local shop) but I would avoid them for repairs. My wife had a major oil leak from a blown head gasket and she took it here as it was the closest repair shop from where she was when she discovered the problem. They replaced the gasket but in the process broke the cam position sensor and solenoid wires. They then proceeded to replace the sensors and solenoids (for $1200) but never checked the wires. They then told my wife that the computer would need to relearn and that the engine would improve. It was not in any condition where it could be driven further than a few miles and after a couple of days of driving to force the relearn (their time suggestion) there was no improvement. We brought it back and they replaced the other sensors, but the issue never cleared. They then removed the last set of new sensors and reinstalled the old ones (to their credit they didnt charge us anything for this) and suggested we take the car somewhere else as they thought it was an internal issue with the block. We took it to a local mechanic we trusted (where I would have gone in the first place had I not been out of town when the problem occurred) and they found 2 problems: 1) a broken return wire in the sensor wiring harness and 2) A bad ignition coil. They had it fixed in a day and for a fraction of what Pep Boys was going to charge us.
I went into your shop on Oct 16th bc my car was over heating, they told me it was my Thermostat. I paid $216 to get it changed, they charged me to fix it and the fee to run the report to find out what was wrong with it. I paid the money to get it fix and went on thinking it was all good. NOW My car overheated and wont start on the side of the road! Now I most have an bigger problem due to then not fixing the problem in the first place!
Katie was very helpful and knowledgeable when we purchased our tires.
UPDATE: 11/11/20, RETAIL SHOP is CLOSED indefinitely. TIRE SHOP is OPEN. I went to buy an air guage to check my tires. The guy said air is free, but if there is a hole to fix, it would be $22. I will buy a gauge elsewhere. If there is a hole, I can get it fixed for 5 bucks or even replace tbe tire for 25 bucks.Bought brand new tires. Great price. Great customer service.
Service was fast and professional. All personnel were very straightforward and honest with me. Painless.
I have been going to Pep Boys for four years. Usually had good service. This time my car wouldnt start. Had it scanned at an auto shop and had no alternator or battery problems. Dropped it PepBoys. Said theyd call me in 20 mins with test results. 4 hours later get a call that my alternator is running weak. Guy said should be fixed that night. Worse case next am. They called me just before noon next day and said 4-5 more hours. Called at 5... Hadnt touched the car. Called next day and they said the alternator wasnt where they thought it was so my car was going to be a while yet. Called that evening. They said it would be ready by the time I got there. Got there. Paid. Go to leave and the car wont start. Make them retest old alternator EIGHT times and it passed every time. It ended up just needing a new battery but the manager Joe is refusing to refund the $537 for the unnecessary alternator. Will be following up with corporate Monday. Be careful folks.
Not dependable. Went there for alignment on trailblazer.Long wait and later didn’t see any improvement in alignment.Just realized they never check tire pressures, and lied that they added air. Will go back and check with them soon. And update on review about service.
For the love of God, DO NOT take your car here!!! I brought my car in last month for a tune up, an alignment, 2 new front tires, and a fuel system flush. I knew something was wrong when they called me to pick up my car an hour and a half later. When I picked my car up, the check engine light was suddenly on (it was not on when I dropped it off), and the alignment was not fixed at all. Turns out, Pep Boys charged me $500 when all they did was put 2 new tires on. They did NOT do the tune up, the alignment, or the fuel system flush. My car broke down a month later, and it was because I needed the spark plugs and wires that Pep Boys was SUPPOSED to replace during the tune up-- the one I paid for but never got. Coming to Pep Boys was the biggest $500 mistake Ive ever made. Please learn from my mistake and do not take your car here.
Waitress was very friendly and the food was great. Not my favorite place for seafood and havent been here in a long time but wasnt disappointed at all.
I made an appointment for 12 pm on a wednesday. I arrived 20 minutes early and waitd in the lobby for my oil to be changed. An hour passed and my car still hadnt been taken back. I informed the representative at the service counter that I b had to leave and they arranged for my service to be free of charge, which was admirable.I brought my car back that same day at approximately 4:30 pm and left.I returned at 7:15 pm that night and my car was just now in the shop. I ended up waiting until 7:45 pm to finally get my car back.My check engine light was still on, a simple diagnostic that is generally entailed in most standard packages. When I asked the technician about it he advised I come back tomorrow to have it checked out because there were 5 more vehicles that needed attended to.During my second stint of wait time, I spoke with another customer that had been waiting since 2 pm to get their tires replaced and oil changed.
Bought 4 new tires ~6 months ago. I had asked them to check the alignment per their recommendation, since that is free of charge, while they are installing the new tires (makes sense, right?) even though I had not noticed any issues before (but what do I know?). They told me the alignment was off, and I gladly paid them to repair.Something was never right about my truck after that, but it seemed minor. Bit of a shake, slight pull. I finally took it to someone else to look at, and tires were out of balance, and the alignment was off. Considering I dont take this truck off-road, Im willing to bet my alignment was never off until they touched it, and my tires being out of balance is unacceptable (even though I should have returned immediately, I shouldnt have to go back and double check their work with another mechanic). On the positive side, the tires seem good quality even though they were the cheapest I could find (you get what you pay for?), staff was courteous, service was prompt (which could explain a lot) and the mail-in rebate arrived when expected. I may stop by if I need a tool and they are the closest, but I wont be buying tires from them again.
