Love Orvis products based on the reliability and prices. I enjoy coming to the store but I had experience with the store manger that I was a little taken off guard by and honestly took that true “fly shop” experience away for me. I’m a pretty avid fly fisherman/angler when it comes to my set ups and how to apply myself I feel pretty dialed into this sport especially when it comes to utilizing and building my leader set ups. So long story short I was having him put some fresh fly line on for me. He got my self built leader tangled pulling my original fly off the reel. He then began to tell me my leader was not an actual leader because it wasn’t a factory taper or wasn’t tapered but it fact it was and I tried to correct him and explain it was a piece of back section of 10lb fluorocarbon leader line with a blood knot to a piece of fluoroflex 3x tippet. A very good nymphing set up with an indicator. Split shot would be applied above the blood knot. Everything all together slip shot down to your first fly will lay out nicely. The leader he had something to say about actually fought, played, and landed the last couple of beautiful 18+ inch trout I had the privilege to catch. Everyone has there own way of figuring out tactics. Understanding is based on experiences gained. I was just a little take off guard when he tried to argue with me I just sat back and said “oh alright”. It was one of those moments I just wanted to take my stuff and do it myself.

Always a great place to shop even if you arent 70 and have money hanging out of your pockets. Staff is knowledgeable and extremely customer service focused.

Holy Fawk Orvis! Why cant I find a direct phone number for the Lake Oswego Store!!?? I do not want to drive 30 minutes to find out they are out of stock for what I am looking for. Their web page lists your CORPORATE phone number with an out going only message. Youve lost a customer for life now.

Good selection of fly fishing equipment along with Orvis outerwear. The fishing consultants were very knowledgeable an recommended a couple of river locations to our foursome. Very friendly bunch.

I went to their fly fishing 101 class and had a great time.clearly the reason for the class is to entice you into their shop to buy equipment but the class was entirely focused on teaching fly fishing and basic knots. The class offered some discounts on equipment but no one put tried to sell us anything other than the fun of fly-fishing.

Orvis was more of a learning experience for me.. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. I was able to test out all of the equipment I was interested in to make the right decision. I look forward to taking some of the classes they actually do offer there.

Brian the manager is super rad. My regular fly shop. Always down to talk fishing and knowledgeable about every style of fly fishing u may be interested in. Have bought and loved both the Hydros SL III and Battenkill III. I am actually returning a reel I bought from another place and going to get another Battenkill reel to replace it. Love Orvis and everything they do for our community 🙏🏻

They have everything you need to hit the water, and more. What makes this shop truly great though, is the staff. Theyve got a fishing report from somewhere local everyday, and are happy to point you in the right direction with the gear you need to have some fun. Im a huge fan of the classes and events they put on as well. Everything from the entomology of your favorite river, to learning how to cast a new rod. I always look forward to the happy hour evening events, and definitely recommend signing up for their newsletter to be in the loop of what they have planed each month!

Knowledge and helpful staff in the world of fly fishing. Everyone knows their stuff but Kelsey has always been a great deal of help.If youre just getting into the world of fly fishing, as I was the first time I went there, try out their free fly fishing 101 course. There is also a trip to a local area that you can sign up for, geared toward beginners, that you have to pay for.

Great store! Great Service! I went in to buy some new waders and the whole experience was great. They had me trying on waders until I got just the right fit. Nice fly shop with a great selection of very nice clothing, as well. My wife wants to shop there.As per usual, we got into talking fly fishing and I walked out with lots of good information and new places to fish. Thanks guys. Cheers.

Came in to just try on waders and even though they knew I wasnt buying on the spot the staff was still very helpful in getting me sized out. Highly recommend you stop by the shop!

My local store. No snooty better-fisher-than-thou people here. Everybodys solicitous and helpful, and they all love to talk fishing. But again--not in an annoying know-it-all way. Theyre as interested in my expert knowledge as I am in theirs, even though theyre way more expert than I am.

Im an avid Orvis fan with countless rods, reels, clothing, etc. and have shopped at Orvis stores nationwide. The service at this store is real hit and miss. Some helpful people and some really not helpful people. Went for a basic return today and was immediately hit with chilly, passive aggressive service. My polite question about the return amount was greeted with surliness that was rather upsetting. I left, called Orvis 800 customer care from the car and they immediately recognized the issue I was having. Orvis customer care refunded the outstanding balance from the error in the store that the staff member wouldnt listen to. Cant say enough about how polite and helpful the telephone and chat service is from Orvis customer care, but I am weary of rolling the dice with the type of response I get at this location. This last encounter was it for me.

Great dog products, though whats in stock isnt the full range. But going online offers the full range and items can be shipped to your home or the nearest orvis store

Great store with great service. The staff is very knowledgable and were able to help me with every question I had and more. My sales person even took the extra time/effort to help me find the right fit for some waders I had long been shopping for. Note: the is an honest review and not some employee or friend posing as an outside reviewer!

Great service, staff spent time helping me understand the rods, let me cast them in the car park and didnt try to hard sell me up (the rods spoke for themselves). Also happy to give advice as to what flies might be best for certain areas,and talk about fishing in general. The Orvis 101 and 201 classes were also great, really helped me get up to speed quickly. They also host free open nights to learn more about fishing!

Great customer service for a first time buyer!

I went here thinking this was a fly fishing shop. Well the experience was a bit of a letdown a little more than half the store is clothing. The fly fishing area is fairly small but there is decent selection of fly fishing items. The prices on clothing is very high. The employees seem friendly and the store was clean.

This place is pretty cool. They offer a free fly fishing 101 class where you learn the basics and then get some pretty sweet deals on your gear.
