Walked in the store and neither of the 2 gentleman working even acknowledged my presence. After a few minutes I was finally greeted, but they seemed more concerned about unboxing than assisting the customer. Only one section of the store was open as well, was very disappointed with the entire experience here. Much better stores out there, so avoid this location.
Weird setup. Had a table closing off half the store. Potentially due to Covid? But seemed the entire game store area was open. Yet not. Was confusing. Decent selection of comics though otherwise.
I came down from KC to checkout Mammoth Comics back issue (silver-age) collection. Called days prior about some key back issues I was after, said they had them. When I arrived nothing had been pulled or priced. Nothing on the walls but maybe 20-30 pointless back issues; nothing main stream. Store looks nothing like images on their website or on Google images. If this is the best comic book store in Tulsa that is sad. Mammoth is nothing more then a eBay churn engine now apparently. Not even one box of Marvel silver-age to thumb through. Images showing walls full of old books are now 90% empty space. Just new issues only out for public access. Might as well hit up Barnes and Noble.
Store was completely messy, couldnt find anything, whoever was working was rude. Never said hi or asked if we needed help. Only thing that was said was the area we were in was closed. Definitely do not recommend this store, shadow mountain comics, empire, and wizards top this.
Hours show open, came by but no one home. They dont answer the phone and vm is just full. They must be closing down. Store mostly barren.
Best comic store in town!! Great selection and Service, with extra online/subscription service. I have picked up some great books in there, old and new. 👍😁👍
This place is horribleThey are over charging on new comics by double. There so called rare one is every where for $4.99 not $10 do not let thieves trick you its not rare just because they dont spend as much as other stores they get less.If you have kids shop somewhere
Worst comic store in Tulsa. The interior was messy and unorganized. Looks as if someone scattered random comics on shelves. Worker was a older bloke who had zero idea what he was selling and wasn’t helpful at all. And finally my last complaint is that the store looked nothing like the photos online. Don’t waste your time here they’re many better comic stores in Tulsa.
There is a stark difference between the photos on Google & their social media. Their wall is barren and it looks like their solely focusing on new books. What I did see of their back issues was really unorganized and they price books directly in front of you as youre checking out.The customer service was just as bad but Ill leave it at that. I was able to go there once and thats enough for me. That experience justified me never going there again. There are other/better book stores in Tulsa to visit.
Everything you could ask for in your friendly neighborhood comics shop. Best service, family friendly, and can get exactly what youre looking for in comics and/or comic collectibles in a timely manner. Been buying in person for 5 years. And by the way! If you like vintage vinyl albums or current vinyl albums, they got that quirk too.
Really cool. Be back soon.
Mammoth Comics is by far the top store in Oklahoma for comics and related collectibles. Im always blown away by their huge selection of new comics, and hard to find back issues. Their back wall is something to truly behold when compared with the other stores in the area. Ive been a collector for over 30 years, and have shopped at literally every store in the region, and none of them have ever come close to being as awesome as Mammoth Comics. Great staff, very knowledgeable, and if they dont have what youre looking for, they will get it for you. Great books, great deals, great selection.
Mammoth Comics has always been my favorite place to purchase Comics and collectibles. Been going there since 2006. Fantastic owner and staff always helpful and cheerful. Very fair prices and a great place to get books sent off for grading. Just can’t say enough good things about this place. If you live in the Tulsa area you should definitely stop by.
Guy with the white beard needs to fix that attitude
This place is amazing!Definitely a good place to get your comics.I opened a pull box with them because of the customer service.
Great comics, great customer service, awesome prices!!! Victoria, Billy and Shaun are so nice and welcoming. They have the tough to find comics at very reasonable prices! Thousands of comics to look through, and not crammed in a small building! My kid loves the kids section:)
Best comic store in the USA!!
These guys were super nice and helpful. I was pretty new to comics (only started reading them a few years ago) but these guys took the time to talk to me and find stuff I might like. Ive been to one other comic book store in town, and lets just say Im only going to go to Mammoth from now on. Really cool place, awesome people.
Best subscription pull list and discount in Tulsa for new comic books. Great website makes it easy to keep track of your pull. Huge selection of back issues and key books and trades. Shawn, the owner, will find it for you or order it. Whatever it happens to be. Great place to hang out and converse on all things nerd and, alas fantasy football. The store also offers a great selection of vinyl for the audiophiles.
Ive gone here a few times since middle school. The guys who run the shop are really cool and will help you out with basically anything. If youre under 13 they wont let you purchase M rated comics without a parent present which is especially important when buying comics for younger readers. The feel of the shop is really homey and quite enjoyable. Some things in there are a bit over priced but otherwise a great shop to go to for comics to start out with or to get a new release or to just add to your collection.
The best store Ive been to in the region. Huge selection of recent issues and lots of collectables and paper backs. Great staff with lots of knowledge
Always awesome. Helpful, personable staff, and the owner is just all kinds of cool. They have this system where I hand them my debit card and in exchange they give me neat stuff. Recommend.
I really value this comic shop. Hands down, the best comic shop in the whole city of Tulsa. Great selection, excellent customer service. I am (and will remain) a committed Mammoth Comics customer for life
Huge stock of vinyl LP records in a well organized display. A pleasure to shop there. Noticed other customers having a good time looking for comic books.
Drove from Ft Smith to come to this store and was not disappointed. Found the issues I was missing in my collection at a great price and wasnt inflated like at some other stores. The owner took the time to check in the back for a comic I was looking for and found a couple of issues I couldnt at other stores. Thank you for a great experience looking forward to my next visit.
This place is great! Tons of comics and graphic novels to go through. Very helpful and friendly staff. I love the subscription service they have in place. Just go to their website, create an account and then start adding to your list. They pull everything on your list for you, bag and board them, and have them ready for you! I cant always make it right on new release day, but I know my comics are in my box and ready for me when I do make it over. If your a fan of comics/novels/etc, do yourself a solid and head over!
I LOVE this store. I have been shopping at Empire and Wizards since I was 14 or 15 and am now nearly 40. Empire is decent, but Wizards, though having a good selection of non-comic items, sucks ass in the customer service dept. (It also generally smells like the back end of a convention.) I recently made the move to Tulsa right by Mammoth so I thought I would give it a try.FINALLY, a real comic shop!!! They have a great ever changing selection of back issues. I have found very early issues of some of my faves for cheap. I can still do a subscription, but I dont have to worry about the owner pulling key issues out so he can make more cash, unlike some other shops.....The staff is really nice, and I have yet to buy something and not end up in a nice conversation with whoever is working. The owner doesnt even overcharge for his CGC like most people, and has some very nice Silver and Gold Age issues.I also want to recommend the toy shop in the same building. Nice peeps over there, too.
Ive been going to Mammoth Comics for almost 10 years, I love the place, the environment is great, very welcoming, whoever is running the counter is always a joy to talk to and sound interested and happy to answer any questions you may have about a book. I highly recommend Mammoth Comics, you really wont find better stock or friendlier service anywhere else and thats a fact!As for the guy claiming that the owner is a crook and that crooks run the place, it sounds like he has never even been to Mammoth Comics.
Best comic shop ever! Everyone is extremely personable and will help you find what youre looking for, even if you dont know what that is. Theyve got tons of geeky stuff in there as well, and can always special order. They have the best subscription service in town! Tired of walking into those other comic shops and awkwardly hanging around while you dont get the assistance you need? Never fear, Mammoth Comics is here!
Havent read comics in a while, went in to start some new series. The owner (I think he was the owner) was super helpful and nice and went out of his way to help me find some series to try out. They have an excellent selection of both the heavy hitters (DC and Marvel) and smaller publications.
Love browsing the stacks here and always find something unusual!
They had a lot of comics if you like your typical DC/ Marvel universe comics. It seemed to be missing more independent comics and older comics, but was still fun to look around at
Great place with good selection. It is not a huge place so its nit as well known to many so you can find comics that other places have already ran out of. 10/10 will visit again
Great place, sizable comic and collectable shop. Owner seemed pretty cool. They always have a great clearance table, awesome selection of comics. Will continue to give them my business.
Bought my 9.6 Black Book of Harley Quinn at this store and I love this place hoping to go up there and get George Romeros autograph of Creepshow this place is excellent
Awesome shop. Theyre great!
Fantastic place to buy and sell all kinds of sci-fi toys, comics, vintage stuff
Friendly staff and owner great place to buy or just shoot the breeze.
Went in to look at records, nice selection of records and comics, employee didnt speak to us the entire time we were there, he was busy chit chatting with another customer.
Web page very inviting... Will be checking this place out.
Big selection and friendly staff. Always helpful and almost always has what you want and if not will order it if they can.
First time here and really liked the place. The owner was very nice and I bought several Marvel select, legends, and 2 Venom ARTFX Statues 1/10th scale for a great price. Will definitely come back.
Great selection and great prices.many statues and older comics as well as newer ones.Super friendly staff. Easy to find on a main Street
Lots of selections and friendly staff! I will definitely be back
Very nice, clean, comfortable store! Had all the new issues we were looking for and a wide selection of trade paperbacks, back issues and collectibles!
Great place for the comic fan to geek out in. Good selection of Silver, Bronze and modern stuff. The people watching aint bad either.
Im not writing a review to discourage anyone from attending Mammoth Comics. But I like authenticity and want to be honest with my experiences. I will say that this comic store has some REALLY good books. There are key issues all over the place. There are tons of comics as well; two show rooms to be exact. The new release comics arent bagged or boarded but are organized well on the wall. Yet, there are things that make this store a really frustrating experience. It has so much potential but fails in more areas than necessary. It is disorganized. Anyone that tells you otherwise is kidding themselves. There are toys on top of long boxes, random comics tossed around tables, boxes, shelves. It looks like kids came in, grabbed random comics and just placed then throughout the store. The back room has tons of boxes that have random comics in them. Some boxes are grouped by Marvel, DC, etc. Others are wildly disorganized. So heres the thing, none have prices. If you ask the store owner about pricing, he looks up eBay and gives you those prices. EBay may have decent prices at times but its really over priced on some books. Others are good prices. But mostly you have no idea what you might be paying when you take older comics up to desk. You may pay $5, you may pay $200 (for a book you can get for $35). There are people on staff that want to help. However, if you ask them if they have a certain issue or series, they dont know (store is fairly disorganized). If you have questions about price, they dont know (nothing is priced).Ive been to mammoth multiple times but just have to find other stores for my collecting needs. This could be the best store in Oklahoma. But the provided issues sink that possibility.
I went in to Mammoth Comics for the first time today and was immediately disappointed that I had never been there before. This place is great. A huge selection of current titles and trade paperbacks along with some collectibles. I didnt get his name, but the guy at the shop was incredibly nice, and did not seem to be annoyed that I was shopping at his store - a fairly uncommon characteristic for comic shop employees in these parts. The place did seem a little disorganized but I was told the shop is in the middle of a move. Dont worry its just a few doors down in the same building - the guy at the shop told me it would be about 3 weeks from now when the new space opens. I will definitely be back - I think I found my new comic shop.
It was great. The selection of collectibles was amazing. The workers were helpful and cool to be around.
Have heard the greatest things about this shop and having been burned at others in gave it a try. I went in and made pull list and they lost it....twice.
Took on my comics to sell, the gentleman briskly skimmed through them. Spewed out $20, I said no thanks, and to make sure he had the last word said I was only going to give you $10 until I saw the last few comics. Before going in I had researched the value for each comic just to make sure coming here was worth my time. This was a stack of over 25 comics all of which were not cheap. Needless to say he extremely low balled me. Its not worth your time to sell comics there.Good luck if you try.
This only has comics and a few odd and ends. If you like to dig Im sure they will have what your looking for
Great shop, great owner lots of variety from silver age to modern, and few golden age too.
Great owner helps you will save comics for you
Super cool place for graphic novels, memorabilia and back issues.
The store is fantastic. The store itself is laid out in two rooms, one for all the new stuff, and the other for back issues and toys. I love it. Its easy to navigate and find what you need. Plus, its clean. Like, its the cleanest comic store I think Ive ever been in. That may sound strange, but some places around Tulsa can get pretty grimy. Not Mammoth, they keep everything organized and well put together. Its a very comfortable environment.Plus, the people who run Mammoth Comics are some of the nicest, and most helpful, people Ive met in this business. I asked the owner, Shawn, if he had any of a certain comic anywhere else in the store. He took the time to check the shelves, and the back room, and told me to email him the title and hed keep an eye out for it. They also have an awesome hold program, and all of the comics come bagged and boarded. They seriously have top-notch customer service, and its kept me coming back. One more thing. Im a newcomer to collecting comics. So, it was pretty intimidating for me walking in. But theyve answered my questions, and told me to ask them anything if I needed help. They even recommended good series for me. I really appreciated that.So if youre looking for a new place to try, go to Mammoth Comics. You wont be disappointed.
They have good assortment of vinyls ( records) too
No back issues to look through except on wall. Staff seems uninterested to help you locate a certain title.
People helpful. Lots of comics & records.
Mammoth Comics is the standard of what your own LCS should be. Owner and employees are super helpful and super friendly and the selection is massive. If youre looking for monthlies, chances are Mammoth has them. And theyll be bagged and boarded before they ate put out. Youd think this would be an obvious step in any comic shop. But this basic service is sadly lacking in many other shops around Tulsa.Youll find almost every title here. The biggies plus the indie titles and a huge shelf full of graphic novels. If back issues are your flavor, Mammoth has you covered there too. The owner has recently purchased a pretty sizable collection of Comics and now has tons of older back issues available. If you like keys, you cannot possibly go wrong in this place. Shawn has a Massive wall behind the front counter with probably hundreds of keys, clearly and neatly on display. And a glass case holding slab upon slab of CGC graded goodies. (The stock in that case has somewhat of a high turn over, so check back often if theres something you want. Which brings me to my next point)Dont feel shy here. Mammoth is a really friendly crew and you should ask someone at the counter if they have a book youre looking for. Chances are.. its probably in the mythical vault.Youll get decent and fair market prices on all the comics. I believe they use eBay to check the price on comics and give you an average of its value for the asking price. And usually Shawn gives you some wiggle room.Mammoth comics is not a musty old 1970s or 80s style comic book shop. Mammoth is thoroughly modern and it is everything an LCS (Local comic shop) should be.Theyve also got an I increasingly larger collection of Nerd related toys and statues. Pops, marvel select, DC figures and everything in between. All in all its a very large store. Featuring two large rooms separted by a really beautiful custom Captain America shield inspired metal door to add to the decor.I cant say enough about Mammoth. If you havent been there and youre a collector.. you really should go.Its everything a modern comic book shop should be.
The shop is roomy, clean, and well lit. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. A great place to pick up comics and merch.
I am from the okc area. Mammoth was the coolest shop Ive ever seen! If you like comics, super heros, or since fiction this place is a must see! Thanks Mammoth!!!
Best shop in tulsa And its still growing. Easy website to use to add and remove books on your pull list. Customer service is top notch...if you need somthing shawn will find it. I tell all my comic buddies about manmoth!!!
Still the best comic book store around.New comics, subscriptions, back issues, comic book supplies, pop culture memorabilia, sales, events, and the Great Wall Of Classic Comics.
Awesome place, products and very friendly people!
Best comic store in tulsa and surrounding area!
It has a variaty of board games as well as a comic shop around it
This place is great. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
Great selection, love the subscriptions for comic books, Love this place.
This place is fun. Tons to choose from...😀
Best comic store in Tulsa and prob Oklahoma period.
A great place with friendly staff- This is the best store in Tulsa.
Great selection of comics and albums!
Had a bad experience there during the tedious and outrageously expensive process of getting one comic book graded. Wont ever go in there again.
One of a kind! Fun place!
Really a good selection and Calvin keeps expanding.
The owner, Sean, ripped me off. The comics I submitted through his store to get professionally graded took over a year to get back to me. I still do not have some of them..he said CGC made a mistake. I contacted CGC and they reported to me that Mammoth comics has not sent any comics in since 2007. CGC took them off their website as authorized dealers. These guys are crooks! Do not go to them.
Great selection of comics (including some deeper titles). Always a good place for comic/movie talk.
They have a huge selection. And a super friendly staff.
The selection was vast and the service was friendly and helpful
Best comic book shop in tulsa county
Great place! Great people.
The best. Righteous dudes.
To expensive . Workers think there to good to help you and asked put out if you ask where to find something.
Service is a little slow but the sandwiches are ridiculously good.
Nerd heaven. I am a nerd.
Clerk seemed indifferent to customers and charged my $3 extra for a variant that costs no more than regular book HUGE ripoff avoid at the cost of your wallet.
Great shop and friendly staff
Best comic shop in town.
My favorite comic book dealer in Tulsa ... Definitely one of the thickest, well-stocked shops in the area.
Ive been going here since 2001! My official comic store!
I agree with the last review but the new comics are nice and well organize but when you get in the back room its all disorganized mostly all recent Comics in the past years but see no old ones and they have statues of super heroes but no Prices on them if you want new ones go there but if you want back issues I say go somewhere else sorry
Great people & service
Always good
Amazing selection!
Staff was not the friendliest I felt as if I had no clue what I was doing in there and received little help.
Its ok..
Best of the best
Excellent
Good prices
