Visited this location of the chain over the weekend before the SoCal region stay at home order went into effect on Mon, 12/7Signs on the window advise customers to mask; only one customer group at a time. I definitely appreciate the customers who arrived when I did and waited outside. Stanchions create physical distance from merchandise (t-shirts, etc.) as well as the server, who wears a mask.My eclectic personality really likes the epicurean flavors The Afters offers. I got salty Oreo! think cookies and cream with a very slight after taste of saltwater... a bit inspired like salty caramel but less intensity of the salt.Temporary hours mean opening at 4pm.. no ice cream for breakfast or brunch :( until after herd immunity or the pandemic is over.

Enjoyed this location very much. we got the black ice cream (brownie batter) and it was really good, tasted exactly like it, but it turned our mouths black. still great tho!

Very good ice cream! Store was clean, pricing and options were simple, and you can sample flavors too. Cool store, especially if you’re a Rick and Morty fan! I had the Thai tea ice cream and it was amazing!

Prices range from 4 to 6 bucks. Extra toppings equals extra money. Nice little place to grab a cone or scoop and enjoy it in the sun. The flavors are pretty unique and most of the ones that I tried I enjoyed such as Walnut vanilla and cookie monster. I enjoyed getting the milk n cereal flavor since you get a free topping.

Milky bun was worth the hype. This frozen treat is a scoop of ice cream inside a warmed donut with toppings on it. I was blown away by the delicious treat for a reasonable $6. Service was good and they allow you to sample as many as you like.

Ill be honest: I dont understand the Afters hype. Id place it between mediocre and good. I found the milky buns way too sweet, and the ice cream was nothing special., and this is coming from someone whos blood is flooded with glucose a lot of the week.This does not have anything to do with the staff, who were good, but this place is an easy pass every time for me.

The service was horrible. Milky bun was hard, not warmed. Got stuck to the paper. Hardly had any ice cream. Total was 47.08 and he did t want to accept a $50 dollar bill. Never again will I go to this location. Never had a problem with afters ice cream.

First time trying it after living next to it for a year but i wish i had gone sooner! My favorite is the vegan ice cream but the options are so interesting and good! I think this place is over hyped the ice cream is good but the wait does not represent how good the food is. Its fine and if there wasnt such a long wait id be more inclined to like the place more, but its always a pain to park and usually is a 30 minute wait to get ice cream I could get any place else.

Its summer and Im constantly craving some cold treats, so I decided have 2 delicious scoops of Afters Ice Cream for lunch.This visit I got the Jasmine and Milk & Cereal. The Jasmine was fragrant and refreshing and the Milk & Cereal is so damn good. I think Im going to keep getting lunch at Afters and get some of my friends to join me as well.As always, Ill skip the milky bun and eat that ice cream straight up.

They have many flavors and unlimited tasting. Cookie Monster in a glazed bun is the only way you cant go wrong. But whatever the flavors, ALWAYS order it in a glazed bun!

My 1-star experience with Afters has nothing to do with the food, and everything to do with the service.My grandma has lived to 93 years old completely on sweets and fat (truth). After a visit to South Coast Plaza, she was looking forward to ending the day with her favorite food. Once we arrived at Afters on Saturday, June 27 around 6pm, she needed to use the restroom first. You see, my grandma, like many aging nonagenarians, doesnt have the same bladder control as the rest of us.When we asked the staff if we could use their restroom, they apologized and said the restroom is for staff only. We took my grandma to every other store in that plaza, and none of them had public restrooms in clear view (they were all in the back). By this time, about 10 minutes has passed (a lifetime to a 93-year-old bladder!). You see, my grandma, like many aging nonagenarians, doesnt have the same mobility as the rest of us, and needs assistance walking.We walked back into Afters to plead our case again, hoping the staff would empathize, only to get coldly denied. While I understand that rules are rules, I dont agree that they are not meant to be broken for special cases. You see, my grandma, like many nonagenarians, is very special. There are less than 2 million of them in the United States, which is less than 1% of the entire US population.So I leave you with this message, there are plenty of ice creameries that care about customer service and compassion in addition to great tasting desserts. I will make sure to support those instead.

The bun was delicious by itself! all the ice cream flavors were yummy in my tummy. The place was nice and cozy. The only drawback is the presentation, eating can get a lot messy.

Lots of unique flavors. Ice cream inside of a warm glaze donut. Really popular with the younger crowd mostly. even though there were older and younger majority was 18-26ish. They cater to a younger crowd music was hip hop with Drakes new album playing in the background.

This place is very over-hyped. Its good, but not worth waiting in line for a half hour for a scoop of ice cream in what is basically a donut. The flavors are unique, but so unusual that I felt like I made a wrong decision by not sampling all of them before I ordered. The line made me feel rushed when ordering too. If they were less crowded (and a bit cheaper?), I would rate it higher.

If they improved their branding this would be an extremely popular place. Very good food but not a ton of thought put into he process.

Milky buns are really delicious! And I recommend getting one of those with cookie monster ice cream topping it with gummy bears. If youre a fan of the chewy ice cream, if not their is other options for your toppings and the 1st topping is free :)

The ice cream is pretty good, especially the cookie monster. The place is really clean and looks good. The staff was nice and friendly. The only let down were the buns, I wasnt too crazy about the glazed buns.

This place definitely lived up to its Instagram hype. I initially found out about Afters from following some Instagram posts about ice cream. When I drove past this place in Phoenix, I had to stop. The inside of simple and minimalistic, but the ice cream is nothing but. The flavors are intense creative and nothing you would find in a carton. They have amazing toppings, and apparently make some sort of delicious ice cream sandwich which I didnt try :-(

Everytime I go there its just great, sometimes there arent that many people working so it takes a bit, but besides that that place is great very much would recommend if your hungry for a great desert

My first time going to Afters couldnt have been a better first impression. At first I couldnt find the Menu, which was on the wall :facepalm:. Afters has a concise menu, just the way I like it. You spend no time mulling over a Shake or a Banana Split because all you can get is Ice Cream by the scoop or in a damn donut! I ordered a scoop of Cookie Butter Ice Cream, which was my best decision all month. The Ice Cream is simple, made of real stuff, and tastes completely individually different than other flavors with the same name. This reality-shattering idea that Ice Cream can be put in a Donut! The Milky Bun is my recommended Item of Afters. It is a very Hip and up to date chain, that understands the newest trends and internet memes. I recommend this for all ages.
