Cool coffee shop with large seating area that expands across multiple rooms. They even have a small room dedicated to a local art exhibit. Located in the incredible downtown Tyler area.Had a regular iced coffee. The coffee was good but I was bummed that they did not offer heavy cream as an option.I would come here again and again just for the vibe and what seems to be pretty good coffee!
Very nice place to have coffee or teaNice layout and much larger on the inside than I thought. Nice outdoor patio area.A little pricey for a smaller serving size of coffee....but oh the things we do for COFFEE
I live on the road. And I like to frequent coffee shops in the towns that we go to.The shop is one of the better ones Ive been to in recent years. Theres plenty of seating, and the staff is beyond friendly. The quality of the coffee and the deserts is excellent.Theres ample seating, and it is wide open and comfortable. The score is a modern twist, but still tasteful and enjoyable.I would highly recommend this stop on your way through Tyler, TX.
The coffee, tea, and hot coco, were great. The staff was so friendly.
Spectacular. Its the whole experience for me. Thank you, Annie for all of your help and your stellar guest service. I wont step foot into a Starbucks ever again.
The Foundry is a beautiful, roomy place with lovely staff who are skilled in their craft. I got a Honduran Pour-over that met my expectations. Surprisingly the brew on drip is what stood out. With bright acidity, medium body, and a balanced finish, I happily would return for another cup.
Amazing coffee, grey staff and a great place to study if you are a student or to handle online business.
Supposedly this place is very popular in Tyler, TX, and it is very unique inside and out. I found their coffee to be extremely strong for me, Im sure other people my like it and prefers it that way, so its just a matter of taste. Their pastries choices, are limited and outrageously priced, but then again, it may not be for someone else, but to price a very small doughnut at almost $5.00, not for me. I can recommend it though for its originality and its location, so you might just love it!
Beautiful Cafe and roastery. Espresso was on point. Lots of space to set up to work or study and a lovely outdoor seating area. The only thing that would make this place better would be more food options.
Great place for coffee, tea, & a snack. Also a great place for worship on Sunday morning. Oh yea they have free refills on coffee and tea as well..To sum it up in one word. Awesome
In my opinion this is the best coffee spot in Tyler Texas. They have an excellent selection of gourmet coffees, as well as specialty teas. I had a nano cold brew thats probably the best Ive ever had.The baristas are knowledgeable, professional and fast.Food is great, 4/5 only because food isnt the main focus. The Atmosphere is amazing, plenty of original paintings on the wall. Excellent seating for studying, couches for relaxing. Music is casual and great.I cant find much to critique with this place, definitely try it out.
Great vibe. Love stoping by when Im traveling through. Delicious coffee.Only down side is the lack of diversity in customer, but not blaming them.
Really cool atmosphere. This place is really large. I have even been to a few events here, and there is always plenty of space. I like to go here during the afternoons and set outside on the patio. People are always super friendly, but the coffee is just mediocre. I keep going because I like to support local businesses,.
Classic coffee house experience with a spacious but comfortable interior. The barista staff is so friendly and helpful. They will gladly give you a tutorial or rundown about the processes that make your coffee. The coffee itself is some of the best youll find in East Texas, though there are limited options in the area for a specialty coffee cup like what Foundry serves. Prices are typical rates for espresso and drip coffee.Come make yourself at home and enjoy the free parking across the street.
Coffee is good the place is very nice to sit down and chill but definitely overpriced food and quality is low
London Fog here is awesome!Go local!
Very friendly and large place and great coffee
I had a green tea latte with lavender syrup and it was delicious!! Didnt think that it was the size that I paid for, but still enjoyed the light lavender flavor. I am not great with caffeine, so this was an awesome option for when I dont want just a loose leaf tea, and they also have decaf options.thank youu!!
The Foundry is the best coffeehouse in Tyler. They take care in coffee prep and the baristas know craft coffee methods (their pour over is great). The environment is relaxed and bright and easy to get work done in or have an afternoon chat with a friend. My favorite place in Tyler to sit with a good book.
Great place to hang out or get homework done. The drinks are a little pricy, but whats new - its a coffee shop.
So its time for an updated review on this place. The coffee is still 5stars and fantastic. Also they have amazing art exhibits from time to time! It has become more crowded though. I also dont like the fact that there are people in a coffee shop playing video games? Yes, theyre retro games which is very cool. But while Im chatting with friends or trying to get homework done, Mario is a very unwelcome distraction. Also the music has been turned up louder than it use to be. The focus should be on people not video games and loud music. Overall still a great place to come, just a few things that I would change.
Awesome, lil big coffee joint. Great wifi, and strong nitro coffee with loose teas to boot! AND located right in the heart of historic downtown Tyler, Texas.
Store was very clean. The service was excellent and the drinks were great. Best in town.
Great environment and very good coffee. A diverse crowd. Great place for studying, music, and meetings.
Great meeting place and good coffee and treats. Good vibe too. Baristas were so helpful.
This is my second time to pass through Tyler, second time to visit this shop. Very nicely done, clean, competent, efficient. But seriously, you cant make a half-caff Americano because the machine is automated and wont let you? Get your portafilter, fill it half full of ground decaf, and half full of regular espresso, insert into the machine and push the button. Dont let a customer walk out the door empty handed. Sheez.
I have been to two wedding showers here... lovely facility....not too big... not too small...just right.
The coffee was amazing, the man behind the counter was very nice and respectfully, but everybody else in that coffee shop seemed to be on edge. I would walk by them and they would flinch as if I was going to hurt them. I was also given looks as if I was lower then them. I wasnt a regular to the coffee shop, the people hadnt seen me before, so I was a out Sider. At least thats how it felt and thats what the expressions where on the faces of the other customers.
Very nice clean place, good staff and very good coffee
Awesome place. First time customer and will come more often for sure. Very friendly.
I have basically lived at The Foundry over the last month while I have been studying for training. To have a coffee shop of this quality in Tyler, is hard to believe! They bring in a new coffee each month and I like the Methodical Ethiopian last month. I will continue to go and enjoy the coffee even after training is done!
The Foundrys eclectic atmosphere and charm of a downtown location was not enough to make up for the subpar coffee and incredibly slow service. A barista was also sitting on the counter while I was there which is not sanitary at all. I was hoping for more out of this coffee shop, but it fell short of the hype.
Cool place to chill or study. There are quite spots in the back perfect for focusing. 4 stars because a lot of the tables didnt have power access. Otherwise, great experience.
Generally good coffee. Sometimes a little bitter. Didnt have heavy cream when I went. Good value considering its cheaper than starbucks for comparable drink sizes. Great work space if you bring your laptop. Wifi is also pretty good. Other than no cream, the baristas sometimes sit on the prep counter so thats kinda gross.
Pros: Fantastic space and beautiful looking drinks. Cons: Extremely bitter and overpriced espressos. Staff seems snobby and underwhelmed- not welcoming. I start my day with either pour over coffee at home (burr grinded fresh every time) or quad macchiatos with breve and raw sugar. I ordered a quad cappuccino, it looked beautiful but it was SO hard to drink, couldn’t finish it because it was just so bitter. Adding sugar and more milk did not help it either. Just a waste of $6. Disappointing.
Best coffee and pastry in Tyler!Friendly staff!
Good place to do homework, however the coffee is very pricey. Great coffee just more on the pricey end.
Excellent coffee service and relaxing atmosphere. Top of the game
Super cute inside and inviting. But if im paying almost 8 bucks for a coffee I sort of figured I would get what I ordered. I was the only person inside other than 2 employees. And I ordered a large caramel mocha with 2 extra shots. And she said heres your latte. And I asked this is a latte?I ordered a mocha,I thought they are totally different. Then after I mentioned that she said mocha-latte,it made me feel uncomfortable for even asking. There isnt caramel or chocolate in this coffee. When I travel I always try to go to local small coffee shops and businesses,I definitely dont want to worry about feeling forced to take something I didnt order:(
Nicest coffee joint in Tyler! Great place to chill or come get some work done!
Lovely community-centric coffee shop. Great customer service and friendly knowledgeable staff.
The Foundry is a quiet place to chill, read, and work.
Great Cappacino.
Honestly best place for some coffee and study time right next to the free parking complex, my personal opinion but amazing music.
Great coffee and friendly staff. Love this coffee shop. They have a great mission as well. My go to coffee shop
Nothing particularly outstanding about the food or the coffee. I gave just two stars because the price advertise in the menu is not right. the overcharged for the coffee. When I told the lady at the counter she said that the prices have not been updated in the menu. Isnt that illegal?
Great staff some lookers too awesome coffee havent been to the Church yet but going Sunday.
Excellent service, excelent tea and coffee. Try the London Fog tea, it is very good. Some gluten free food options. Great place to sitand work, study or relax. Lots of space, vey clean,
The atmosphere is always so inviting and friendly. The coffee is great, roasted to perfection in my opinion. Lavender latte is an all time favorite.
Definitely worth the visit if youre in downtown for the day or even a moment. The parking situation was a little confusing, but its the garage right across the street on Broadway, and its free! Ordering online was a breeze. Their cold brew is very smooth, and they do not ice it as many places do so you get your moneys worth. Not very many people wearing masks while walking around inside but everyone was spaced out enough. The environment is clean, relatively quiet and open, and their patio is very nice and spaced out. The baristas are laid back, quick and very helpful, with none of your garden variety barista snobiness. Plenty of spots to charge your devices.
The customer service is good and fast but the coffe isn’t very good. Very overpriced.
I love this coffee. Roasted onsite. There menu is awesome. I love the espresso and americano...
Amazing coffee beans. Tasty expensive bites. Great space!
As I write this review it is hard for me to explain my thoughts one single word but it can be Heavenly even after the pandemic they have an amazing service not just the food but decor, atmosphere and as well they usually have amazing customer service for instance they will guve you free masks or water however they make fun of you once behind your back well that is my only experience. As the warm liquid goes down my throat I can taste the sweet and bitterness complexity of the flavor as if going to Nirvana.
Great place to hang and relax.
Come here all the time. The music varies. The coffee is consistent. Its a place to develop relationships.
Great local coffee shop with awesome staff who know their stuff and the atmosphere is amazing. They use Porch Culture (local toaster) and Methodical . They offer All types of brew methods that you expect from a legit coffee shop. It’s located in downtown Tyler, so it’s a little inconvenient if you are not headed that direction or not familiar with downtown area. They do not have many parking spots, but There is a free parking garage directly across from the coffee shop. Great place to study, talk, or just enjoy amazing coffee.
Great place, friendly staff, and excellent coffee.
This use to be a great place with friendly people but now if you dont pay for anything or if you stay up there because I do online classes on my phone but I cant do that either because other people leave messes but I make sure my area is cleaned and I just got told to leave because first I didnt get coffee all the time then I cant sit outside then talk to the other people they dont pay for anything just stay there all day. And now im ct from there for not being there im calling evedyone that i can because this iant a church place anymore and i want everyone to know they let the college studenta stay there without paying and they dont say anything ro them.
Comfortable but busy coffee shop in downtown Tyler. Park in the free, multi-level garage across the street. Large outdoor seating area open to the main strip. Inside, you find many seating options in different areas of the facility. Staff has always been polite and helpful. Coffee roasting happens on-site. Pretty standard options in coffee and syrups. I wish they offered more seasonal/specialty drinks. Check their social media for special events.
Great location near the library, good Coffee about mid priced. Lots of room inside and even tables outdoors if you like.
Very warm, inviting coffee shop with areas for group interaction and personal space for many
Favorite spot in Tyler to get coffee! Friendly staff and great coffee!
Really cool coffee house. Great coffee! Loved the modern atmosphere located in this small town. Will definitely go again next time Im in town.
This was my second trip to The Foundry and after this one, if I return and it’s better I will change it.My first experience was pleasant. I had an iced latte and it was really good. The employee was nice.Today my husband came with me. He is a serious coffee drinker. He understands flavor notes and the art of making a great shot or cup of coffee. While the guy there was friendly the lady pulling the shots was pretty rude. The shot was extremely bitter and his pour over was somewhat watery. He tried to take the shot back up because it was too bitter to drink. Before he could open his mouth, she said, “actually dirty dishes don’t belong here”, and pointed to the corner. Not wanting to respond rudely, we just left. We don’t mind paying extra for the coffee but the employee there today needs a lesson in customer service and how to pull a shot, as well. I understand sometimes a coffee shop can be hit or miss, depending on the barista but I decided to leave the review purely because of her attitude. She was laughing and talking to another employee right before, so assume it wasn’t just a bad day.
Great atmosphere to study! And the coffee, OMG so good!
Nice place for a cup
Always welcomed with a smile and a sense of community here. I used to sit around here every week and was enchanted by their cold brew! Nothing on the menu has ever disappointed me.
The first coffee shop I visited when I moved to Tyler from Dallas. Super excited to see growing coffee culture here! I wasn’t a huge fan initially of their espresso blend but I recently went back after hearing they changed it. Way better, IMO. I think the espresso before was too light for my taste. Generally good Customer Service but if they are busy it tends to go down. Personally not a fan of the drip coffees. Pastries from Sola and Delightful are always a hit.
Delicious coffee, excellent relaxing and studious atmosphere, attentive and friendly staff, and tons of space! Great vibe. Definitely recommend.
