I absolutely love this place, but I am very disappointed with my last experience. They currently have boxes of individual Pokémon cards that they claim are all under $5. One of the cards I chose couldn’t be found on the TCG app, so the attendant asked her manager for a price. They claimed it would be $20. I still chose to purchase it, and when I got home, I looked up the price. The highest price I found that it was ever sold for was $8.99. Even then, TCG Republic has it listed at $3.50, so I am giving more credit than due. I honestly feel like I was ripped off and wish the situation had been handled better. If you aren’t sure of what the price is, take it out of the box. Or if you find out it’s more, honor the price you’ve told customers.

The owner of this store flagged my review, and now you get to know about it! If you have absolutely no other option like buying online or playing in dallas, then I feel bad because you will end up having to go to this store and deal with jacked prices for singles all because We are in the middle of nowhere. That is a great excuse for a store to make while they gouge your wallet and smile to your face.

Good selection of games, but the gaming area has been closed for over a year and they are hyper-sensitive about mask wearing, which makes the store feel much less hospitable.One of the major draws that a local game store has is the ability to play games there with people, and they have chosen to shut that part of the store down.

Pretty decent selection of single Pokémon cards on the wall. Packs are about retail. Burning shadows are up there, but its a pretty desirable set so I can understand the $20 price point to an extent. ETBs and other sets are retail pricing and usually available in whatever quantity you want

My husband and I always LOVE our trips to Geek World. The staff is always so friendly and helpful. Great selection of games, minis and more.

Geek World for life!!! Little pricey but great for hobbyists and gaming enthusiasts. It might be a bit more expensive, but youll pay about the same online for most of this stuff and good luck finding this kind of inventory shopping around town. 5 out of 5 for sure!!!

Very cool gaming store with a huge selection of games and dice and a very nice selection of jigsaw puzzles.

Almost no reason to buy from these people, the gaming area is not open and they give no discount on GW products. Why would you ever buy from them? You may ask why does this guy expect a discount? Well I can go down the road to Ground Zero and they have everything I want. They have a discount and they also fulfil the basic expectation of a local gaming store and thats an open gaming area. Or you can just go online and get most of anything you want in a few days. Doesnt make any sense.

Great environment. Good prices. The mystery gifts and mystery dispensers offer a unique trip every time.

By far the most affordable hobby shop in Tyler. Very professional, always willing to help and like the first sentence they don’t overcharge. Ground Zero charges almost double in price for their booster packs but Geek World does buy 5 retail packs and get one free. Just comes to show they’re here to help people with hobbies and not resellers to bring pain to your wallets. Also they sell Single cards which most stores don’t! Shop Geek World!

We visited on our way back from Shreveport. Had tons to choose from. Clerk was super helpful. They also have a rewards program spend over 10.00 get a ⭐. And then after 10 you get 20% off your purchase. Should definitely stop by and see them!

I wanted to give this place 5 stars because I consider myself a nerd at heart and I used to play magic the gathering when I was a kid. I came in and was greeted by a worker and I felt accepted and had a good conversation with the staff and they gave me great pointers and source material to practice. I used the restroom and I took pics to give them a great review and help. Yet they called the cops on me for wanting to give them a good review. Yes maybe just should of told them that I wanted to give them a Google review but I mean geez, I went over to McAlisters deli and the cops show up wondering why I was taking pics, whats crazy is they are on Facebook. You have pics of your ish there. I mean I know what it was but its ok. Welcome to get world, where if you are not a certain person you are not welcome.

The sheer amount of games and game parts is sure to excite casual and hardcore boardgame and D&D players.

Asked to leave for not wearing a mask after explaining that I have a health condition. It’s horrible for customers to be treated this way. These places have already lost plenty of business and it’s silly to be requiring a piece of cloth that may or may not be washed in order to shop at these already overpriced stores. Amazon usually has the same products at a MUCH more affordable rate. It’s not worth it to go if there is not good customer service.

Geek world is one of the best, if not the best, hobbie shops Ive ever been into. The staff is really nice and considerate. They all love many of the hobbies at a sell. And the reward system they have in place is great. I usually go in and get some little stuff I like then once I get up to 10 ta 14 stars I get %s off stuff. Thank you Geek world. This is usually a pretty neat place to go into however, the last time that I went I left feeling pretty disappointed. I had gone looking for an escape room game and while they didn’t have exactly what I wanted, there was something that was pretty close to it. An older gentleman helped me find what I was looking for.However another board game (Betrayal) caught my eye and it was marked $45 which was about $20 less than I had seen online the day before, so it was very exciting to me and I grabbed it immediately. However upon reaching the register I was informed that that game was marked incorrectly and that it would be $75, a $30 markup from the price marked on the box.Instead of offering me the price that was marked or some kind of discount for their mistake, they wanted me to pay full price, so I left without it. I am disappointed in the situation and how it turned out.

Terrible customer service. 1st time ever going there and will also be my last. Employees there were rude and did not greet or anything a GOOD employee should do towards customers.

This was such a pleasant surprise. I know nothing about gaming, but I wanted a gift for my grandson. The young woman who helped me was incredibly patient.

They have a variety of dice to choose from. They have dnd and pathfinder books and minis. As well as magic the gathering cards. They have pain for the minis and tons of little things that add so much to the world of gaming. Highly recommend this shop if you are interested in the RP games, the staff is very helpful too and you get points for spending money which gives you a discount after a while. :)

The kids went there before the Covid pandemic to play Dungeons and Dragons, lead by a wonderful master(staff). I hope its happening again!!!

This place is too expensive

The owner was very unprofessional and was very rude to a customer that came in with his kid trying to sale there Pokémon cards. I would never talk to anyone the way he talked to that customer. I would definitely not suggest this place to anyone.EDIT: what poor behavior? Being a witness? That must be why it’s “conveniently not mentioned”. I’m sorry you’re embarrassed someone called you out and you felt the need to make up things to excuse YOUR poor behavior

Some friends of mine own the place, great store excellent service unlike some other local geek market places. Also, dont be afraid to come by if youre not already interested in geek culture, staff and helpful customers are generally always willing to teach game stuff and arent afraid to tell people to go take a shower.

Best customer service for a card shop/board game shop. The girl behind the counter (didnt catch her name) was super helpful and the atmosphere was pleasant. Nice variety, and love the dice selection.

Great place to find board games, dice, D&D tools and books, Pokemon, mini selection, paints, and geeky stuff. Store employees mingle and talk to guests and are just as excited about the stuff as you are. Be yourself here.

First and foremost Mark is the man! Made our experience excellent from the moment we walked in the door. We had just stopped in casually to look for a new board game and all I can say is WOW! Huge selection of board games with 100+ open to demo. Mark walked us through a few of his favorites and we actually played 4 new games. 5 hours later we left with 3 games and we will definitely be back!

Been coming here for years with my dad and I’ve known this place as long as I’ve been alive, and it’s always been a fun, inviting place. Only had one good experience here out of the many times I went. Only one time I wasnt ignored and it was by one of their female employees. She was really nice and helped us out. First and only time they got a good sale from me. Definitely dont suggest going here personally.

Really nice and spacious, during normal times, they have a multitude of events for a bit of everything, ranging from various Warhammer games, TCGs, and the tired and true DnD.

This is the friendliest store I have been to, as far as game shops go and in Tyler, TX. The people were friendly, and not just the workers, everyone who was playing Magic there was talking to me and offering help. I love that they are moving to a bigger location, near Boards and Bites and Fuzzys tacos!! I will be in again and again, thank you.

Great card and boardgames shop. Definitely the place to go for magic the gathering supplies, cards and decks as well. However, my best friend was bitten by a dog that was brought here and while I love this place to death, I cant rate it higher until some safety concerns are addressed and they make it right.

I have never had a bad experience here. The older gamers love to teach new players or to offer them support. While the atmosphere can be loud and boisterous, people are always having fun. This shop was definitely the best fit for me, and I am glad that I started coming here.

This place is amazing for finding the perfect board game. The owner is quite knowledgeable and very friendly. They have about hundred games you can play for free, so you can try games and walk questions before you invest in adding them to your home collection. We accidentally spent 5 hours there because we enjoyed ourselves so much!

Intriguing selection of gaming related. A bit cluttered, but that gives it that mysterious vibe.Update - added a star: They now have a great game-master, Adam Brown, offering gaming sessions several nights a week. Adam is a proficient DM and experienced at many table top games. Ive seen his painting expertise on miniatures, as well. He is definitely Master-level. If you are wanting to learn one of the role-playing games, like D&D, or you want help in hosting a special gathering, now is your chance.

Its an okay place, nothing too big, nothing to fancy. Its like a bar where people meet up just without the booze. Has good sells on individual cards so you can build your battle deck from scratch.

I really wish this place had a wider selection for more mainstream board game players and such. But it is called Geek World after all. The people were having fun inside, but no one ever said anything to me so idk who worked there and who didnt. They had some trinkets and things that were cool and Ill probably go back now and then just to browse.

Great experience, we bought a poster display and drove 2 hours to get there. The gentleman working went out of his way to help us load it and the owner was very helpful with giving all the information we needed to know to be able to pick it up with safe transport!

Great shop i bring my daughter here to play games . There is plenty of space ive been to several different shops here in Texas they have very reasonable pricing . The staff will always stop and demo new games . The manager has set a large number of games for free play . I recomend this shop to everyone i know over all a great place.

While Greek World is a tiny little place, its still got some good stuff, including several hard-to-find board games. The dice seem fairly expensive compared to other shops, though certainly a great selection.

This place is amazing. They have anything gaming/comics/sci-fi/fantasy related you can imagine. Very hospitable staff and generally a cool environment to hangout and play.

I am waiting for them to open but nobody has showed up. I understand its a family business but when your sign says you open at a certain time I believe you should be open by then.I would like to do business here..but not if they dont care enough to open on time.

I love this place. Most of it is collectors items, but its still cool to just go in and look around.
