Im from out of town only get to them occasionally usually I love the store and staff. Today must have been an off day staff were snippy not helpful and one was just rude. But the checkout clerk bagger and one lady in bakery made up for the other 8 rude staff. I just love the atmosphere and I always end up spending way too much.
I’ve been shopping at this store in University Heights, Ohio since they opened in the 2000’s. The store opens at 4 am for in store WF employee shoppers filling orders but doesn’t open their doors to customers until 8am. For a year or so during early Covid, they were opening at 7am for elderly and immune compromised, which was wonderful, but canceled that perk 6-7 months ago. WHY?? (?WF management can’t afford a cashier on ONE lane to accommodate the dozen or more of us that used to show up at 7am to stay safe?)The self checkout area… where you can scan and bag your own stuff changed it’s policy since last week. Even though there’s a dedicated WF employee watching your every move and it’s still a 15 item limit, I was told, no more carts. You can only use those 6 stations if you’ve been lugging your food around in a hand held basket… way too heavy for many items. Thanks WF for making me put my food down on your filthy conveyor belt and watching a cashier and a bagger unnecessarily rehandle my food. While the staff is now finally fully masked, every week, more and more people show up at 8am (to a grocery store) unmasked… today, 9 shoppers chose not to care about their neighbors. Today, I felt unsafe at my local WF for the first time. I can’t imagine how those unmasked numbers swell over the course of the day?Adding insult to injury, is their recent 10.00 service charge on food delivery to PRIME members who already pay a premium to save a buck here and there… if you’re lucky. Why this chain doesn’t use the model that so many other grocery chains utilize… which is to aggregate your total dollar purchases and pay you a reward once or twice a month is selfish and cheap. Sorry… No reward cards for Prime members! AND, don’t forget, the worlds richest man owns this chain yet I somehow save less than .60 cents each week. Build another rocket ship for a billion Jeff. This is no longer acceptable. The quality and shelf life of food at this location has, in my estimation also decreased in the past 2 years. Every other trip requires me to visit another grocery, as so many products that I find are expiring in a few days. I often find expired food a week past it’s date… yet there always seem to be dozens of employees hard at work, restocking shelves, but maybe not paying attention to what is already on the shelf? The produce however is almost always of a higher quality than any other store. Five stars for crisp fresh vegetables!Bottom line… the competition down the street opens to shoppers at 6am. Their quality may be a bit less, but the store is uncrowded and my safety comes first… so until WF changes it’s hours to once again protect seniors… I’ll shop elsewhere.
Like all grocery stores right now, they are in short supply of some items.I find their fish market to be the best in the area. The staff are very knowledgeable about the fish and can tell you how to prepare it.Most, but not all, customers are masked, but all staff are.
I would love to review the cameras just to see me standing there to show y’all. I was blatantly ignored at the seafood counter by the Caucasian man with the big beard. He skipped me and served another Caucasian man... then I stepped up for my skipped turn already feeling invisible and he chose to ignore me again and attend to another person.. that’s wild. I know I’m not invisible. Treat people how you want to be treated. That was very strange and rude.
I decided to buy off the salad bar for 1st time. I had only shopped at this location on this day. It was a nice selection. It was all I had eaten on that day. By the end of the night I was so sick from food poisoning. Others had warned me not to eat but I did. Im still sick from yesterday.
I love Whole Foods. Unfortunately, the hot soups were cold (lukewarm AT BEST). I was getting a couple of bowls for a sick friend. Definitely would have to heat them up before serving. Other than that, the service is always A1.Thank you.
Today I had some food delivered as a care package to my mom. The shopper was great, and the Delivery Driver Gabriel was exceptional! Very happy with the service! Gabriel made my day! Over and above expectations!
My Whole Foods delivery order got picked and then cancelled. No reason listed. Amazon says it was a store employee who made this decision and gave me the store location to ask them why this happened. Call the store manager and they say call Amazon. Do not order from or shop at this location. It’s completely unstaffed and unmanaged.
In order to fund Jeff Bezos trips into near-space, it appears Whole Foods has had to cut back on cashiers. Im sure that $15/hr buys a lot of rocket fuel.Wait times are long, while customers are encouraged to enable additional reductions in staff by using a self checkout.
This is such an awesome place for individuals who want organic foods and products. From soaps to detergents to fresh produce to meats. I lose my mind everything Im in there. The hot bar is stocked with a variety of different things and I end up spending more than I alloted myself because my eyes are bigger than my belly. The staff is courteous and helpful. There is always something new to explore there.
Friendly folks. Delicious foods. Healthy items.OMG! Try Death by Chocolate cake. The name is off putting. Lol But, it is delicious. I tried it from this location for the first time. The chocolate was actually not overwhelming.
I went to return a Amazon package and a store clerk with a smile asked me did I need any help? It felt great because honestly I was lost. She directed me in the right direction and asked if I needed anything else..Great customer service. I will be back next time to shop.
I have embarked on Dr. Joel Forman’s End of Diabetes Diet and there are a few ingredients that I need for my health according to the book.Whole Foods does not have: hulled barley (though they carry the less nutritious pearled barley in their bulk foods section.).Another thing they don’t carry is date sugar! This is supposed to be a healthy alternative to regular super market chains and I would expect them to carry these two basic pantry items.
I LOVE this place! Best grocery store near University Circle. 365 offers premium quality goods & affordable prices plus extra benefits for Amazon Prime members
Consistently good produce and meat. Prepared goods are weaker. Canned and others are very expensive lol.
Its a nice store with a very large selection of produce (sadly like most other departments the prices are very high), seafood & meats, prepared foods & bakery. It seems this market is too costly for the income levels of our general population at large.
I called several times about salmon steaks and I was told when to call back to check. When I called back, I was told that there would be salmon steaks. Purchased quite a few. The staff is very courteous.
Such a variety of healthy delights. Love this place!
I give this place a 3 because compared to the one on the westside it is a 3. The westside have 3 different size carts which makes a big difference especially for the amazon shoppers, shopping for other people. The Westside store has a bigger selection of things. Better parking and just all around better.
This shopping trip was to obtain some items we couldnt find elsewhere. And sure enough, the items were available. But because there is a certain magic about the experience, we took our time to appreciate the other products, fellow shoppers, and the ambience. We splurged on a special offer bouquet, and two breakfast rolls. We left Whole Foods feeling relaxed, filled with joi dvivre, and smiling.Sure its a bit pricey, but its clean, and the products are unique, interesting, and quality.
Even though we do most of grocery shopping here, it is begrudgingly done. Ever since they got bought by Amazon things have gone downhill. Just in time inventory doesnt really work for produce and they leave almost to fully rotten stuff out until it sells before they get more. Many great brands have disappeared to be replaced by pedestrian 365 versions. The latest boondoggle is the self-checkouts. They are difficult to use for large orders and they took out too many cashiered lanes to put them in, so lines are long and people are testy. More of our grocery dollars go to Heinens all the time.
I love the bakery here, and I refill gallons of water.
Clean, tidy displays, good customer service and remains cautious about covid.
Very convenient, most times I find what I need. I shop mostly for vegetarian and vegan products
Great store. Good variety and fantastic produce.
I know some people are against them, but Im loving the self scan lines
I absolutely love the fresh options I find at whole foods. I do 80% of my grocery shopping here for a reason. The atmosphere is nice and they always have what I need at decent prices. The staff are friendly and always helpful.
Nice clean u find anything in there they better Davies 👌 sell nice hot food and pizza is good
Love that place. When I am in town, I stop in and love to buy natural products for myself and my family. My daughter is also a huge fan. Her and her boyfriend came with me this time and and they both bought stuff they were thrilled to find.
The tea section was a waste of my time. The wonderful choice of healthy foods has all but disappeared. There is no reason to past by other stores in search of a Whole Foods. Sorry to see such a great place literally destroyed.
Hey everybody hope all is wellI could write a book about this place its the best its clean organize and most of the people there are friendly and attentive to you a great place tea shop
Although Covid has changed the Hot Bar Menu, the choices they have are simply delicious!
Always good and wholesome products to choose from.
Good people good food
Fabulous bakery where I picked up a great selection of 4 different, beautifully decorated cupcakes for a friends birthday as a sweet little surprise.
Fresh produce, quality meat
Didnt have fresh ginger in produce department
We love to go to Whole Foods. The produce is the best.
Mornings are a tough time to find help. But the quality is always good.
I go to this Whole Foods because it’s on our way to Walmart. Parking is kind of inconvenient for the customers and that is probably due to the location. I have always had good experience here. Employees are nice and friendly. Greet you with a smile. I was trying to get fresh pizza during my latest visit but the line was too long and moving slow so I ended up getting the frozen ones. I would go here again.
Dont go in there often, but need to start
Eric at the seafood counter was knowledgeable, kind and patient. He made the whole experience wonderful.
This store does the worst possible online order substitutes. We got poblano peppers subbed for orange bell peppers and a vegetarian sushi subbed to non-vegitarian. They need to improve their staff training on acceptable substitutions.
As always the store is pleasant and stocked well.
Really a great store. I do hate getting plowed over by their delivery shoppers though. Just the outcome of being owned by Amazon.🤬
Im just returning to the Land after several years of living in other states and I remember this store being so much better. It seems that the selection of certain items that you look for in a health food store is lacking. Would like to see a better supplement section.
Knowledgeable staff. Nice & friendly.
Like the layout. A Little confusing as to where certain products are if youve never been, but small enough place to find things if you take your time. No lines. Swift checkout. Pretty good selection of things. Cordial staff.
Had to do a return to Amazon was in and out quickly and no problems
Less crowded than Id expected. Meat selection great for 2 days before the Christmas holiday
Social distancing guidelines observed; customers are polite. Quality produce, seafood; employees actually walk around asking if they can help find products. Other grocers hiked up prices; however they dont offer the Whole Foods experience . My 2nd time shopping and Im a new fan.
The atmosphere is apparent from the beginning that something is different, and that is because of all the organic products throughout the building.
Whole foods is amazing, and not quite as expensive as I thought
Clean, organized. Some of the produce was very picked over but other than that they had good stock
If I could live here I would. The variety is expansive and you can find some really great deals. Staff is always helpful and most of the cashiers good with conversing.
Love this place.
Long post alert! So I wanted to rate them a 2 based on my recent interaction but I didnt want to blame the whole store for a negative interaction. Her name is Elodie, she works in customer service but Im not sure she understands the concept. Very transactional. No greeting, barely looks you in the face. Her demeanor definitely rubbed me the wrong way to the point where I may just visit the newer one. I bought some tea & I made a mistake a bought doubles of a flavor & wanted to exchange. I couldnt exchange it at the time bc they werent excepted returns due to COVID. So I was told to hold on to it & I did. I shopped in between time but they still werent accepting returns. Now you may be thinking, I should have just drank it or threw it away lol, but it turned out to be not to my liking & I hate waste so I just held on, hoping a family member would want it lol, no such luck. I strolled in wholefoods recently and they said they were accepting returns now so I thought it made sense to get new tea for the unopened boxes. Ms. Elodie was preoccupied with someone else but had begun working with me and it was annoying but I was still ok. No hello, how are you, nothing. She looks at my receipt and says with an attitude, its been too long. I explain that I couldnt return it due to their policy - now granted I didnt call every month to check if the policy had changed but come on. She says with the same disdainful attitude, that I cant exchange it. Now Im not bothered completely about the exchange bc policy is policy but her attitude was the worst! Its not the attitude of wholefoods, at least not what I remember.
This is my favorite place, I used to love going here on Saturday afternoon because they would have many samples for you to try and they would be really good and I would purchase some of the items. They have really good food in their hot bar. They used to have some banging brisket, but they don’t have it anymore. Now they just have shredded beef and I don’t want that. I want my brisket slices back!!!! They have a sitting area for you to enjoy your food and play area for the children. You can even pick up your Amazon packages from this location.
Great selectionSome stores are not as organized as others. Overall its a great place to Shop.
Store is great, but awful for parking and inside is tight in space, so always feels crowded.
Good atmosphere, and friendly staff. With a whole bunch of gluten free options to choose from. If you got decent sized pockets, then this store will be a great choice for you.
Whole Foods remains my go to store, especially their seafood department. I think what I like about Whole Foods are the people who work there. They are always helpful, always seem to enjoy their work and are always in a good mood. Love shopping there.
Love this place!
This Whole Foods is always very organized and has very friendly, helpful staff. Staff always seems very knowledgeable. Produce is always very fresh a well
Easy to find items, organization is great, take out was fresh and our ckout was friendly. Thank you 😊 for all your hard work.
Ok nice area ok prices ok people
After the remodel this store has gone from the most unique and overall best Whole Foods I have visited anywhere in this country to just a standard location. They got rid of the circular bar/restaurant, happy hour, and all the fun weekly events. I used to stop in there just to get burgers because they were so good. Plus the price for the quality of food received is really getting out of control. Purchasing bakery items is a coin flip as to whether it’s going to be good or old. There are so many great options in this area, and this place went from my regular grocery store, and also cool neighborhood hang out to just a place I stop at once a month if I’m out of milk or coffee.Seems like they’re trying to make this location into the area Amazon food delivery hub or something. They can do so much more with this building and location.
Remind me of the old super-kMart stores.
Although I have encountered some of the employees as being friendly, others need to work on their customer service skills!!!
First time in the store, the people are real helpful!
Expensive and my pita chips are stale. But got some chicken noodle soup that was fantastic.
Enjoyed my shopping experience. Cookies are pre wrapped now, so you dont need to worry about others hands on your food. Store is very clean, and they have masks at the entrance for people who need them.
Always super clean and the staff is very helpful and pleasant
They wont hire me
Love this place and the best part of it all is that I can pick MY Amazon Prime packages up from here
Great store, has everything you need for groceries, but can sometimes be a little pricey. Great produce and cheese selection. Wine selection is great as well, but butcher area lacks expertise on slightly more specialized cuts of meat.
I love it if you want a organic touch in your life here is where you should go
I had a positive experience I found what I was looking for the cashier was very nice
A must stop on every visit to Cleveland. Absolutely love the fresh produce selection. Quality is overwhelming!!
Offers an opportunity to purchase products not necessarily found elsewhere. A little rich for my blood right now ok
Curbside pickup is atrociousFor the second time I have tried curbside pickup at the University Heights Whole Foods. Both times have been a disaster. Today my wife placed an order, received an email it was ready for pickup, and ask me to get it. When I arrived at the store, they told me it wasn’t ready and I need to let them know I was there by registering my arrival. Apparently my physical presence was not good enough. I called my wife and asked her to register my arrival since she had the password. After waiting over 20 minutes to make sure everything was ready I went back to the service desk and was told my order might be ‘over there’ where the curbside bagging was occurring. The service desk then told me that since the baggers were not Whole Food employees they had no control over them. When I mentioned I was in a Whole Foods store and was purchasing Whole Food products, and perhaps he should take ownership of the situation and help locate my order, he declined to do so. I then went to the packing area to ask about our purchase. The individual I was directed to said he could not help and directed me back to the service desk. When I mentioned the person he pointed to had just sent me over to talk to him, he shrugged.A return to the service desk was even more frustrating. Even though they texted my wife that the order was ready, and I showed them the text the order ws ready and the electronic receipt with the amount billed to our credit card, they could not find the order. After conversing with two more Whole Food employees, I stated “Ok you have an order, and I am here, how do we make this work”? Their response was we can’t because you haven’t registered. After several back and forth conversations, about yes we did, and we have an text it was ready, and a receipt, I walked out the store in frustration. It is disappointing that while we have successfully used curbside pickup at other stores including other Whole Foods, this store seems unable to figure this out. Most annoying is not one of their employees was willing to take ownership of the situation and find our order. I will never set foot in that store again.
Don’t care for layout of store.
Excellent selections and the staff are extra helpful and friendly. I always feel so happy in there. Isnt that odd? Lol!
A little expensive, but always has what I need and has friendly staff!
Clean, as usual. Restocking constantly, lots of prepared foods, staff is friendly and helpful.
Pricy but greater variety
It was amazing. So many great choices in the bakery dept.
Step up in grocery shopping, many specialty items, great experience
Its great to have a nice selection of different kinds of food but the people who shop there are a nightmare and the prices are astronomical absolutely unnecessary astronomical
Excellent selection on different foods...
Great place. Staff is so friendly and helpful.
The employees were very nice and helpful.
Amazing organic & healthy foods!!!
👌✅ fresh pizza 🍕 the bomb 😋
