My wife and I started taking our vehicles to U Place Auto a couple of years ago after trying several other shops in town. Now we wont go anywhere else. I had a radiator leak in my 20-year-old SUV and dropped it off yesterday. Shortly after I got home, I got a call with the diagnosis. The radiator had a leak, as well as a few hoses. They told me the price with tax to replace the radiator, hoses and fluid. The price was absolutely fair -- and heres the kicker: It would be done by the end of the day! We trust Ashley and her team. Its the kind of family business we like spending our money with.

Called to get a quote from them to compare from another place that I got my car diagnosed from. They told me to bring my car in, so they could look at it themselves. To make a long story short, they saved me over $1,500 by telling me I only needed to replace my tension belts and not my a/c compressor. It’s good to see an honest auto shop!

As soon as I walked in I was welcomed with a very warm greeting while the receptionist was having a conversation with the customer in front of me like a long time friend. They were very prompt with their diagnostic and laid out every option for and which would be the most cost effective for me.I had to wait there while my vehicle was being worked on and during the 3 hours I was there every customer I saw walk in was treated like an old friend. The receptionist had a personal conversation with everyone that walked in and the service technician came out and went over everything worked on with the vehicle owner.When my vehicle was done the service technician came out with me and walked me through what was worked on and what to look for in the future. on the way out I mentioned there were small electrical problems I was having and he identified,diagnosed, and fixed them free of charge on the spot!If you are looking for a warm and welcoming family owned mechanic shop that is honest and transparent this is your spot.

UP Radiator appears to be an HONEST business; which above all is the most important quality when searching for a mechanic. They do good work, but they can be a bit pricey and end up taking a long time to your vehicle back to you. Wish they were available during the weekend. Hard to schedule appointment for preventative maintenance. Despite all this they are still the most TRUSTWORTHY mechanic Ive been too so will be back.

Brought car in regarding a catalytic converter code popping at auto zone. Was told the diagnostic would take about an hour. Literally was less than 15 minutes they had the vehicle to tell me it was a timing belt problem and they couldnt do repair. Said it was a well known issue for the car. Literally have found no supporting information on the web or forums. Called dealership and they had no knowledge of it either.. Feels like they read my codes and thats about it. Now I am less the cost of their diagnostic and going to find a shop that is going to actually find the issue and fix my car. Will not be coming back.As for your codesP0430 and p0420 directly link to the catalytic converter bank 1 and 2P0017 links to cam shaft position sensor.Also, the timing belt was just serviced by the dealership less than 15k miles ago, water pump had to be replaced.I could have understood if you actually looked at any of the things prior to coming up with replacing the timing chain, but you didnt. My car has no rattling noises or anything like that. I brought it in to have the catalytic converter looked at and diagnosed. You did not even do that. U read codes and told me to head to a dealership. And as for your uninformed comment, I dont consider my comment uninformed. You made about 80$ to read codes. I had Autozone do that for free.

UP Auto Service saved us thousands of dollars and from needing to buy a new vehicle. We had been quoted by another company over $5000 of repairs for our 2001 Honda Odyssey. We didnt want to pour that much money into the van and had begun to shop around for new vehicles. But before making a decision I talked to Ashley at UP Auto Service and based on what I told her she quoted me less than $3000 and helped me realize that while having little kids still, investing some money to get 5-10 more years out of the van was worth it. We made an appointment, took the van in, and they had it fixed up within a day for less than $2500! They are amazing and I couldnt recommend better mechanics or people.

This place is so great. Had my van towed here because it died. It just started up for them the next morning and they were honest about it and did not try to sell me something.

Man these people are awesome! First off super friendly environment 100% of the time. I came in today to see if I can schedule an oil change appointment and Ashley, up front said they can do it today. Like drop off and pick up tomorrow? She said nope, give us about 30-40 minutes and we will have it done if thats ok? Very professional staff and respectable. I would highly recommend them for any need! I have a Subaru STi and always ask if they can do this or that for custom stuff and sometimes theyll accommodate if they cant they know who around that can.

Very friendly and helpful. I really appreciated their time. Unfortunately they did not want to work on my truck given it’s history and the work I’ve already done to it (I probably made it worse lol). Which is understandable. I have never resorted to taking my vehicles to a shop, I have always been a do-it-yourselfer and I have always been successful, but I am stumped with my truck. GM motors man, hate them but love them. Despite my situation I would definitely still recommend this Auto Service shop for sure. It’s a very wholesome business, and they are very honest. If I’m too lazy to work on my other vehicles I will definitely bring them here.

Helpful referral. Called in for a quote on repairing an exhaust flex pipe on our old Toyota Camry. Lady on the phone told me they only install direct fit exhaust parts but referred me to Austin’s Pro Max for a quick and inexpensive repair. Very happy with the referral. Seems like an honest place. they didn’t try to overcharge me with new and expensive parts for an old car that just needed to get patched together cheaply. I appreciate it!

I came here this morning for an oil change on my car. They were very responsive with scheduling. They were ready to work my car once I arrived. It only took 20 mins. The pricing is absolutely reasonable. The waiting room area is clean and cozy. Come here instead of Jiffy Lube!

I was happy with the oil change and estimate I received, however their comments and photos around their COVID precautions are misleading. I specifically chose this shop because it stated in reviews and on their page that they were following protocol. When I arrived the woman at the front desk was unmasked. There was no plexiglass separating me from the register and also none of the other 2-3 employees behind the counter were masked. The only precaution I could observe was that the waiting area is closed. If you’re concerned about COVID precautions avoid this business.After dropping off my car I called and asked the woman at the front if she could please wear a mask when I return to check out. (I did not want to prolong my interaction in person when I dropped off the car). She told me she had a medical condition and said that I could pay over the phone. I appreciated the option, however was unable to do this prior to picking up my car.The biggest frustration was how misleading their profile and comments are about COVID precautions. I got the remainder of the work on my car done at my local Bucky’s and they were happy to wear masks.

What a great local and family owned business! Ashley in the front of house is always very attentive and informative. And Ryan and his crew in the shop are top notch mechanics. I highly recommend their vehicle services. It’s nice to know there is a shop like this around that you can knowingly trust.

I have been looking for a good auto repair shop for my 11 y.o. Infinity for a while. I finally found one @ U.P. Auto Service. I just took my car in for a simple oil change, but unfortunately the last business (starts with an M) messed up my hood when they worked on my radiator and broke one of the release cables. UP Auto fixed my hood, which added an hour to the techs day that was not expected by either of us. Their charge for this was very reasonable and I got a great vibe from the two techs I spoke with. Ill be using them from now on. Especially after reading about their qualifications and all the other 5 star reviews on google. Its a family owned shop that obviously take pride in their work and honesty.

Im one of those terrible people that never leaves reviews but always reads them. After my experience with UP Auto Service I had to say something. Im from out of state, and had an emergency tow/overnight drop situation occur with my alternator on I-5, so I relied on AAAs recommendation for a shop. Their level of customer service is unparalleled. They were very clear about cost and next steps, which was very welcome as I was a bit scatterbrained during the whole experience. They kept me updated the whole way through the process, and got me back on the road in less than 24 hours. Now if only I could find a shop like them where I live.

I dont normally write reviews but I had to for this facility. Unexpectedly, I had to have a new transmission put in my truck. Ashley and Ryan helped me every step of the way. Ryan at university place radiator is a stand up guy! they have worked on my 97 miata a few times and easily have the best service for the price in town. Ryan showed me exactly what was wrong and why and i was expecting this specific repair to cost north of $1,500 after parts and labor and it was under $1,000! The group at UP radiator is excellent, nice, professional and i recommend them and go to them over my uncles repair shop. This place used to be great when Bill owned it. He was trustworthy and you got the kind of service you could recommend to your friends. Under the new ownership, it’s the complete opposite. They charge a bundle for work they don’t perform. Don’t go there.

The front desk service is amazing as well as incredibly friendly and Ryan is the most helpful mechanic ever and doesnt rest until hes fixed your issue, very affordable prices as well. Twice I came in and Ryan checked out a small problem me and didnt try to gouge me with some bull story about how much work my vehicle needed. Excellent! I am glad I shopped around and found this place. The icing on the cake was Ryan working for Lexus previously. The whole process was amazing. I always feel like car repair is akin to dental care. Go in thinking its minor walk about with a dire assessment. Here it was the exact opposite. Honest opinion, quick service and far less than any other place I took it too. I was not sold a major rehaul just exactly what needed to be done. Extra points for getting the specialized manufacturer bolts from Lexus at a better price than I found. Him and his wife now have a new customer who will be more than happy to tell others.

I recently purchased a Jeep and noticed oil on my driveway. I took the vehicle here because they have done such quality work on my truck in the past. I got a call saying it was the rear main seal and as you know that isn’t cheap! They said that before we do anything, I should probably check with the dealership since I had recently bought the vehicle. Keep in mind I was ready to let them do the work because they have always shown themselves trustworthy. I did as they said and the dealership agreed to fix the seal. You won’t find a shop that keeps the customer in mind more than here. I truly thank everyone for giving me quality work AND great advice when I need it.

Friendly staff. I asked to speak with the mechanic and that was no problem. The mechanic patiently spoke to me about an engine block issue. They have a clean waiting room plus theres a coffee shop nearby.

Highly, highly recommend. Ashley and Ryan were both so helpful and clear about what was going on. We really could not have expected the exceptional level of service we received. When they say they treat you like family, they mean it! Next time I have a car issue, Ill actually look forward to visiting their shop knowing that I am in great hands.

I am never going back to this place again. The first time I dropped the vehicle off for a routine oil change and diagnoses I was called 2 hours later to say your car is ready for pick up. I picked it up and drove away. I then received a call moments later stating to come back because the oil change was not completed. They apologized but that was it, I accepted that accidents happen and then brought my car back in for the rear wheel bearing replacement that they recommended. I again dropped off the vehicle and they performed the work on one side. It took longer than expected. They called and asked if we should do the other side too. I responded with, test drive it and if the noise is gone don’t do it and if there is still a noise please replace. Well they chose not to do the other side. I then decided to take the vehicle to another shop that I have worked with in the past but was now out of my way. This other place discovered that the abs was not bolted down and the break line had been twisted and was now rubbing on the tire. I had them replace those things because the car was there and I have now lost faith in UP Auto. After the work was completed I went back into UP auto for a conversation and to ask what they can do about it. They said nothing and that they need to see the car. I asked why. Everything has been fixed and they will never be touching any of my vehicles again! They refused to take any responsibility.

Took my car in to get some things looked at. I have a check engine light on for a cylinder 1 and 2 misfire. I got quoted $350 to get that fixed. It was too expensive for me so I had them look at my brakes. I told them my brake fluid was low and that when I stepped on the brake pedal it did not brake until like half way pushing it down. Payed $26 dollars for them to fill up my brake fluid, but it did not fix my problem.They even said my brakes look brand new. I was fooled by these reviews in thinking this was a good place to take my car. Yeah they are friendly but do not be fooled like I was. I took my car to another place to get my cylinder problem look at and fixed. The guy at the other shop told me how could someone give you a price when they dont know exactly what is wrong with the car and not even looking at it. Keep in mind I asked University Place Auto and the other place I went to; both the same question of how much it would be to get my cylinder problem fixed. University Place Auto gave me an estimated price and the second place I went to said they would need to look at it before giving me a price. All in all, I will not be going here again since my problem was not fixed.

Like their promise says, well treat you like family is absolutely true. Took my wifes mini van in for some brake maintenance, and Ryan was incredibly awesome. He diagnosed everything very thoroughly and only replaced parts that absolutely needed to be replaced. Ryan also kept me on notice when he found an issue that he was concerned about. Lets face it, auto repairs make a dent in your bank account. But at least this place wont charge you a ridiculous amount. Theyre family owned, honest, and will work with you. If you dont need the part replaced or fixed, theyll tell you. Great customer service and mechanical work. If you want quality work without having to pull out a loan to fix your car, come here. Weve been a customer for years and have no plans of changing repair shops.

Was quoted over a thousand bucks to do the brakes and rotors on my RV at another shop. Called UP Auto and the estimate was much less. Took it to them and they did a great job. Ran the RV tons of miles for the entire summer without a hitch. Great guys great service great prices. If your car or RV is in need of work this is the place!

I am going to leave a review about UP Auto that I would be willing to bet the farm that you NEVER hear.. I first brought my wifes Toyota Camry to Les Schwaub and was given a quote and a diagnosis due to some very concerning sounds and safety issues in the front end area. As I am sure all of you can guess the estimate was very high. After reading all the positive reviews about Ryan and Ashley at UP Auto I decided to check in with them as well. The very first thing that happened was that I recieved a call stating the the other place did not even have the correct diagnosis. Although it was still going to be expensive. 1100 with the possibility of it going to 1800 if there was more front end damage than what could be initially seen. I agreed to have the work done either way. Upon arrival to pick up the car I was informed that IT ENDED UP BEING CHEAPER. Like 1100 down to 775 bucks. I mean have you ever even heard of a shop being so honest?!?!?!? Ryan and Ashley secured a customer for life right then and there! I highly recomend them! They are to be trusted. Sorrry this is long but the community needs to know about a business with this kind of integrity. They are few and far between these day.s. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM

Brought my car in for an oil change. I was really impressed with how helpful the employees were and how clean and new the place looked. (The business has new ownership and theyve done some renovating and are going to be adding on some more work bays soon.) My intent was just to get my oil changed, but the owner gave me great advice on other issues with my car. The oil change was very reasonably priced and he actually saved me $800 because of a part I actually dont need! I highly recommend this place for mufflers, brakes, oil changes and more!

First time having my van serviced here and Ryan and Ashley were absolutely wonderful! They got me in same day and replaced my muffler lightening quick. There customer service is really above and beyond and I could not be happier with the work they did. I have been going to them for over 10 years, and I have brought 6 different vehicles to them, and I have sent multiple close friends, and now my children to them for their mechanical work. Every time their price is INCREDIBLY lower than the competition. I have never had a problem with their work, nor have they ever caused problems for my friends, on the contrary, their work is the only dependable work I have ever received. They even have a network of safe mechanics they refer to when the job can be done for less or is in another line of expertise. Affordable, Honest, Safe, Reliable, and Friendly. One of the best Mom and Pop type businesses I have ever been to.

These folks have ALWAYS been so honest and reasonable. You will have no worries bringing your vehicles in for repair here. Just took my Ford F150 2002 occasional work truck in here for a starting issue and they figured it out right away(fuel filter) and their charges were in the lower end of the range for estimated repair costs. This has been my experience over the years and I am so grateful for what they do. Will NEVER use anyone else! Thank you so much.

I take my cars and my parents cars to UP Auto Service. They are a great family locally owned shop. Its nice having a shop that i can trust to do great work and never try to up charge with services. I recommend them to anyone. They work on my dads Ford Truck and my Bmw .. they are great!

When my car broke down, I called several places. These guys werent the closest, but they were the most honest, and fair priced. It was painless and dare I say, enjoyable to do business here. Highly recommend this shop, and I dont usually review places, but finding a good shop is very important.

Lied to me, ruined my exhaust system; avoid at all costs.I came in to have the axle pipe on my car replaced a couple months ago. They were fast, friendly, and cheap, and I thought they had done the repair correctly... Until my tail pipe started dragging less than a month later. I went back and they said that the weld had broke, and re-fixed it for free since it was a problem with their work. They told me that my muffler would need replacing in about a year. What they didnt tell me was that my particular car uses a clamp system, which would have only been a few bucks to replace the clamps - instead, they welded the axle pipe to both of my mufflers. Well, its about a month later and my tail pipe is dragging on the ground... Again. This time, the area they welded around on my rear muffler is sheared through, due to what looks like sloppy welding, and Im going to have to get everything south of the catalytic converter replaced. It seems an awful lot like these people either just dont care, or intentionally did a simple repair wrong so I would need to buy an entire new exhaust system from them because they accidentally wrecked my existing one.TL;DR: Dont get your car fixed here. Its more trouble than its worth.
