Love this market specifically for the meat department. Their meat is always fresh and competitively priced. The butchers are friendly and accommodating. Definitely a plus being able to have my meat cut and packaged the way I want it. Overall, the store is relatively clean and organized. Great service as well! The owner is kind and humble, and he always treats his customers like theyre all his long-time friends.
One day I hope to be able to raise my own chickens, both for meat and for eggs. But that train hasnt pulled into the station yet. So in the mean time I try and look for the best places to source my meats and right now one place thats got my attention is Freshway Marketplace in Upland, CA. Tucked away in the heart of the Inland Empire, Freshway is a real gem. The meat is remarkably delicious and thus meets (pun intended!) not only my gastronomic standards, but my ethical ones as well. If youre anywhere near the IE, dont be fooled by its outside appearance; the meat is top quality. And while the owner, Ahmed, doesnt always have every single cut of meat, I have found hes more than willingly to accommodate your requests and can generally acquire what you want.
Clean store, employee was polite and helpful as to informing me of the location of products that i needed,,, Also store offers a variety of Middle Eastern,, North /East African products that our family eats.So Pleased that The Freshway Market Place is located in Upland...
You must visit this place at least for the meat section. The not only have fresh beef, veal, goat, lamb meat, but have prepared meat like kababs etc and they also make kababs for the customers.
Great customer service and very good selection of middle eastern products
Excellent customer service, great hours, good selection of meats and spices.
The man behind the meat counter was so very mice and helpfulHe brought out different roast from the back and he gaveMe two of his bestHe was helpful patient and very nice. Thank you I wish I got your name
Love the halal Breakfast beef & the halal sausages, omg I love them.
The Proprietor helped me find loose green tea there, Ceylon, from Sri Lanka.I looked for months, including the internet.
Hi, Im a first time client went yesterday, nice little store, I love the way the guy who helped me. Im going back definitely 😊🤫
We shop at a few meat stores once a week and this is one of them. Its a nice store, pretty clean and has good meat selections. They also have middle eastern, Indian/ Pakistani spices, and fresh produce. If youre hungry you always order kabob from their kitchen, buy 1 get the second plate for half price, so for $15 you get 2 kabob plates, good deal.
This place is a mess and the meat looks good on the display but once I get home all the meat I bought looks bad and it appears to be expired I bought a worth of 100 meat and all is bad included the lamb. I do not recommend it not safe to buy from this place. The health department must check this place out. You cant feed the animals with this meat . Cheaters very fresh!!!! Shame on the owner for sell meat that animals won’t even eat
Great Food at the to go counter! We ordered the chicken kabob plate and loved it. We havent found a Mediterranean to go place since we moved from LA. Its great to have this on a night when you dont want to cook but want a well balanced meal! We loved the chili sauce on the hummus a nice addition and we really liked the rice. We will definitely be back!
I love shawarma sandwiches! So fresh and the garlic sauce is so good! The market is very clean, easy to find things and the people working are always nice and helpful
I love the chicken shawerma plate or sandwich there! Excellent quality and reasonably priced. The service is very good too. The place is clean has a good variety of middle-eastern & some international products and groceries. The staff is friendly, bilingual/multi-lingual) (English & Arabic, some staff speak Spanish/English as well) and take care of customers in a timely manner.
Quality produce and good selection of middle-eastern products.
Upland Farmers Market is not the open air market that occurs on Saturday mornings, BUT it is, by definition, a farmers market. More than half of the store features fresh produce at much lower prices than what is found at nearby grocery chains. I dont know if all of the produce comes from local growers, but some of it does (all of it may, Im just not sure). It is owned by middle easterners and has a multi-cultural customer base. I shop there all the time and have for years, and have even seen people from a local vegetarian restaurant shopping there. There are a lot of herbs, spices, ethnic desserts and beverages to be found at the Upland Farmers Market. One can also purchase international calling cards, hookah supplies and meat there, too. As previously mentioned, the price of produce is much less than elsewhere, but it also spoils faster. I dont attribute this to the produce being inferior-- quite the opposite, in fact. Fresh fruit that hasnt been waxed or otherwise prepared for commercial sale tends to naturally begin to die after a few days. That produce purchased at Upland Farmers Market doesnt last as long as produce commercially produced and sold is actually a good thing.I cannot give Upland Farmers Market a full five stars, simply because Ive found that some of the non-perishable staples are sold after their original sell by date. Ive bought a couple anyway and they havent been bad, but I dont make a regular practice of doing so and I wouldnt recommend others to do so either. My personal opinion is that Upland Farmers Market would do better to pay closer attention to this small, but rather important detail. All in all, however, Upland Farmers Market offers great value at affordable prices. Its also clean and rather well-stocked for such a small store. Their customer service is always fast and friendly, and Ive always had a pleasant shopping experience there.
My first experience was through Door Dash. Food was very good. Then 2 times I was in the area. I decided to call ahead. I had never been in this place. 1st time the cook didnt come in that day. Huh? The 2nd time I went in. It is a market. The produce was few and what was there was shrivled, wilted and should have been thrown out a week earlier. They cook the food in a kitchen behind the meat counter and the cook said the kitchen is closed. It was just after 6 p.m.
Wonderful market!!! The store is under new ownership so the old negative reviews should not apply. Great variety of middle eastern groceries (fresh and frozen), fresh meats, and produce. The owner is very friendly and the butcher is very accommodating. The market (and meat area) is also very clean.
Extremely rude person in the kitchen. Their grub hub machine broke so there did not receive our order that was paid for. The Man behind the counter was rude, unresponsive, unwilling to communicate, and simply having a poor attitude. Mind you, Im from out of town and my extended family shops here often.
You can get fresh and prepared to your taste meat here.
I visited this store 2 months ago and the lady cashier gave me the feeling that she didnt want me to shop there. Store is under new ownership for few months and it still looks like its not ready. Some isles are empty and store in general doesnt look inviting. I drove a very long distance to receive that kind of treatment. I will not shop here again.
My new favorite store been in LA for 3 months and glad I found it. Meat is perfect.Alhmdllah good service and fast.Keep it going
Fresh Halal meat. 👍 🥩
A good store for halal shopping, especially meat. You can also find some ethnic items, e.g. from Pakistan, Malaysia, Iran, and Arab countries.
They better start getting fresh produce... other wise stop selling produce if you don’t keep up your product fresh
Finally! Ive found the place to get the authentic middle eastern flavor I almost tried everything and It was all perfect! and all fresh groceries, you really need to give it a shot!
Everything you needClean and great services
They are very nice and answered all questions.
I ordered a chicken shawarma sandwich and it was so good and a good price. This will be my go to for delicious shawarma from now on!
They have a great selection of hard-to-find mediterranean and middle-eastern, foods. Small, clean store with a knowledgable butcher and helpful, friendly service. Try the fresh hummus. It is the best Ive ever had!
Great place to grab a bite to eat. Amazing chicken shawarma.
A good go-to place for Mediterranean food products, and for Arabic style dining. Both are very good and the new owners and very helpful and respectable.
The to-go food deli has the BEST Falafel. And the chicken shawarma sandwich is amazing. Surprising that the best Mediterranean food hands down is at this small market. Definitely recommend.
I work next door ... i go every day just to eat their delicious shawarma 🌯
Been here to buy a halal chicken and other stuff. So far the grocery is ok, clean and always warm welcome from the seller
