I tried to buy ammo here and they wouldn’t accept my military ID card as proof of residency, after 21 years of service the US military might still have gotten it wrong and Big 5 can’t be sure I’m a legal US resident. My brown skin might be problematic even if I don’t talk with an accent. I’ll buy my ammo elsewhere, Veterans Day is next week and I might get a discount.

While practicing social distancing before entering the store Big 5 offered opportunities to review community activities that will be available soon. Upon entering the store it was delightful to see the many familiar employees ready to help find the sports, recreation and leisure items that make each season fun and eventful.

Like any big 5 you would expect. Store was empty when i was there but still waitied 8 mins to get something out of a locked case. Not a issue though employees very polite.

Went to buy my son some football cleats and the guy in the shoe department was great.

Stopped by a very rude lady. Then was told I was not allowed to shop there. I have spent thousands on sports equipment over the years. I have been a mostly happy customer of their overpriced store because theyre in my town. That was until today. Ill drive out of town before shopping here again.

Its a circus. Dumb and unreliable management that is inconsiderate. They do there best to not help you. The store manager is very unprofessional and rude. Not only does he just frown at customers but I once seen him shout at a customer because they walked up to the store a little bit before it opened. He shouldnt be working anymore. He should be in a retirement home or something. He should not be working with that attitude all the time.

Huge selection of sporting goods, and its not very often they dont have what youre looking for. It can be hit or miss with prices though as they have great deals often, but if they dont happen to have a deal on what youre looking for at the time, it can be more pricey than youre local Walmart or other supercenter chain. If you sign up with your email, you instantly get a 20% off coupon on your next purchase (10% off clearance) so that helps. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and if you sign up for their daily deals youll get an email with all the stuff they are discounting the next day. You can get some great deals with this. I used to not care much for Big 5, but I think theyre above average now.

Not too crowded, staff overworked, walked around for 25 mins till a staff member said did you have a ? I replied i do, then she walked off...

Rude staff. Why would someone that works there ask me if I need help with something, then after telling them what I needed help with respond with, But Im leaving the store (with a condescending attitude). Directing me to a sales member thats not leaving the store would have been a more intelligent approach.

Customer service is excellent. They really make sure youre getting the sale price. So helpful.

Horrible experience today at big 5. In Vacaville,there was no line and was entering into the store with my mask on because they put it mandatoryand this lady came out and was yelling at me to get out of the store because she did not give us permission to come in. There was no one at the front door and the door was wide open so I proceeded and cautiously to see if it was okay. After telling us to leave, my disabled wife in myself left the store and watched her just have four people walk in right behind me I did not say anything until I confronted her on it and then she was telling me just to go home I told her to just quit being scared. I buy my work boots and hiking boots at big 5 religiously, but no longer! My wife is disabled and she was very distraught after the occurrence! No matter what if there is covid scare going on, you still dont treat your customers like sub human!!!

Stopped by to pick up a quick item. Found it right away, clerk offered help right away, and was able to walk uo to the register to pay with no waiting. Couldnt ask for more.

Helpful staff alot to choose from. Organized store and if you sign up for their e-mail u get the daily sales the weekly sales and special coupons that come in handy. Sometimes the coupons take money off sale items that give you more savings.

Overpriced and understocked. Its annoying these days that people dont understand ADA laws or that they cant be open when youre trying to explain them when you really shouldnt have to.

Went in for indoor soccer cleats for my grand daughter in a size 8 all I could find was Nike I explained to him I could not buy Nike shoe cause I work for reebok/ Adidas. He looked everywhere and he found me a size 8 in Adidas. Thank you very much

My fiance and I went to search for hiking pants and a backpacking backpack, the employees all stood around the front not really asking if we needed any help until we went and basicly approached them and after they helped us and we had another question I got the feeling that they didnt want to help nor did they feel the need to, then after we spent about an hour in the store we left because everything they had was very over priced and my fiance is kinda crazy about checking reviews on Amazon and everything he looked up had terrible reviews. So we wont be coming back unfortunately, but my advice would be to get more then 1 or 2 brands of backpacking backpacks and more then 1 brand of hiking pants, and check in with your customers more often.

Another decent big 5. Plenty of low priced sporting equipment with a decent supply. Larger than some other stores Ive been to in the past.

Their fish and game computer always seems to be down but other than that great service

This is not the biggest sporting goods store, but they sure do have some great sales and unbeatable prices.

Always a great place to get a deal on pocket knives. You can get most of your outdoorsman supplies at a reasonable rate. Always my first stop.

BIG FIVE HAS A GREAT assortment of shoes and boots but my daughter a pair of boots for work the loaded with a lot of other things over there to fishing hunting jogging you know it they got it check them out
