Awesome ambiance and spotlessly clean. Wonderful customer service and good, hot food cooked to order. I also expected really good bagels for some reason (maybe due to the east coast decor and that a bagel and egg sandwich was over 8 dollars) but sadly the everything bagel I had was the ordinary bready California style with no interesting flavor or chewiness, and it had fennel seeds which was really odd. All in all, a nice little spot.
Ordered 4 things 3 of the 4 things were great. Scone was super yummy, chai was perfect will definitely go back for a good chai latte. I was a bit disappointed with the lox bagel. There was a small hunk of lox, 2 chunky sliced tomatoes, 3 paper thin onion pieces, and a hunk of cream cheese that was clearly sliced from the brick and not spread on the bagel. I also asked for no capers and they added capers. It was sti good but a bit awkward and not as satisying mainly because i tried this spot out with the express purpose of getting a lox bagel craving satisfied
Although the coffee was great, the man making it wasnt so friendly. We went in 30 minutes before they were closed and was to we could not purchase anything from the kitchen. We will not be visiting this place again.
Great place, good people and they roast their own coffee. The food is OK
The pastries were delicious, coffee was great, chai latte was made from a tetra pak though... Friendly environment, would definitely come back!
Super kind and helpful staff, 100% recommended.
We got two espresso drinks. The latte was burnt and had absolutely no foam. The caramel macchiato had globs of syrup to cover up the burnt taste, but that was the only flavor.Bagels were good and nice looking shop, but definitely steer clear of the coffee.
Perfect timing on pick up mocha add a pastry at closing time
Prices up, quality slipping!Coffees still real good, but the sandwiches, etc. are just not anything to look forward to, potato salad is pitiful! Needs to be made on site!
Not my kind of place but this person reading this might love it
Friendly and clean. The coffee ☕was very good.
Java Jax has great smoothies and cafe mochas along with my favorite chocolate muffins. I am glad it is located downtown Vallejo because downtown needs more businesses.
A nice shop in a convenient location. They have parking, something rare in the area.
Ordered a strawberry banana smoothie. Very yummy, thick and tasty.
Love this place. Cool vibe, great atmosphere. The Chicago dog is my favorite.
The breakfast burrito and egg bowl were perfect. Plenty of tasty food with out being too much.
Finally made it to Java Jax and ordered a Carmel latte it was great!!
I like Java Jax, but some of the new staff need better training and management.
Quick and friendly service
Fresh, fast, and homemade. Got a really good hummus bagel and an amazing latte here for lunch!! Definitely recommend. Smaller and family owned :)
Very attentive. good service
Nice people, good coffee, outdoor seating. Yay!
Good coffee good service and bagels. Nicely decorated conscientious staff.
Nice place to sit and have a cup of coffee. Great staff.
Good coffee..interesting place. It was an old gas station..turned into a coffee shop/cafe. Great line up of pastries with Vegan options. Wonderful massive breakfast burritos..and if you are there around lunch time try the yummy hot dogs!
Delicious bagels!
While my daughter was at an event, I needed somewhere to hangout, work, and get some good coffee. Little did I know that, at Java Jax, I would also get to see some great sides of the local Vallejo community. This was clearly a place where people in the area came to, no only get decent cafe eats, but to meet up with friends, share the gossip, and just connect. The owners and staff knew everyone who came in and they really friendly to this stranger as well.
Great bagels - clearly fresh. Lox is also fresh and the coffee is well brewed. A thousand times better than Noahs!
Java Jax was the first place we bought coffee in Vallejo five years a ago when we started looking for a home here, Convenient location, nice open space and off-street parking. They serve coffee, bagels, and pastries. Everything is fresh, hot and the staff are always upbeat. In the morning youll often find locals at the tables discussing the days news. The are plenty of tables inside, and a few outside as well.Saturday mornings the Vallejo Farmers Market is literally half a block away, so this is a really convenient base-of-operations!
Will not let you use the bathroom.
Actually good, fully jacketed cups were a nice touch, could use some better pastries. Coffee was decent, nothing to write home about. Atmosphere could use some work. Better parking would be nice.
To be honest, I still love their food and normally I dont rate companies on customer service but when your the owner then I mean I have too.Like I said the food is good. But god forbid your order is slightly different then the way it is on the menu, you get eye rolls and sighs from the owner. And honestly which is crazy to me but weve even gotten the eye roll because of how many things we ordered. Like seriously? Were spending money here at your business. My family spend a lot of money there, like $30 on a breakfast place? Like come on now. Keep your eye rolling till I at least walk away from the counter. My family and I go here maybe once every two months. So if your not a regular or not getting just one/two things, be careful for the attack of the eye rolling! The food is good but we always peek on head in to see if the boss is there before we go in!
This place is our favorite! The employees are incredible. The food is absolutely amazing and so worth going there. Pastries are beyond expectations as well as the cooked food you order from the kitchen. Their breakfast burrito is a must try, one of the best ever! Additionally, their frozen drinks and coffee are so worth having.Edited: After reading other comments, I wanted to add I here that I have a huge family. When I come to get take out it is usually for 5-7 of us. They know me now once they see me it will be a big order and David is always up for the challenge.
Coffee Snob was very pleased with the coffee, the service and the ambiance of a converted Flying A gas station. It was the only coffee shop that had power during the PGE blackout of late October. Even had decent pastries.
I love this place. Was here 2yrs prior the first time I visited the area. Had to come back again this time around. The bagels here absolutely fantastic. Its as good as the stuff you get in New York / New Jersey. This alone is why I gave this place a 5 star rating. Blows Einstein Bagels, Dunkin Donuts and other similar chains out of the water. Coffee was good but wasnt anything to write home about, yet still better than anything youd get at your typical chain places. Looking forward to returning when I come through again.
I love this place. Only place in the Bay Area that I know of that has Real Chicago style Italian beef and Vienna Beef hot dogs with all the trimmings. The service is outstanding, employees are friendly. Just a good place to eat.I heartily recommend Java Jax😎
Had a delicious, healthy blueberry muffin. The service was good. I was pleasantly surprised when I was asked if I wanted it warmed. I thought the price was a little high, but I did get a fork, and plate to eat with, so that made it okay.
Sandwiches are scrabbled omelette style, not layered, so keep that in mind. Coffee is well made but piping hot, and the staff is extremely friendly. Well worth a stop if you want coffee and breakfast.
Ive been driving by for months now and finally stopped in. I ordered the Italian Beef sandwich and I was disappointed to find microwaved beef on a soggy bun. The beef wasnt all that bad, in fact it was well seasoned and the pickled vegetables were good too. The bun was inedible as it was completely drenched. I probably wont come back as I expect more from an eleven dollar sandwich.
I love this place. Everything I have had has been delicious. Everyone here is so nice and sweet. My new favorite place ever
I love Java Jax. Its one of the few old school type places that has been successful for quite some time in Vallejo. Its clean and charming and has great coffee and food. I go there for lunch and/or breakfast a few times a week. The owner is always there, greeting customers, working the counter, serving tables and keeping things tidy. This is not just a business to him, its his life.
Normaly on point.however they forgot the espresso in my mocha this morning... And of corse im trying to get to work. So cant go back.very disappointing
Coffee was great . Lady server was awesome.
Really amazing service great food great place to take a date.. You can eat here COMFORTABLY for 2 people for 15$ .. And thats being nice and accounting for a $2.5o tip!! :D
You looking for lox and bagel . You just found the best. I truly enjoy eating. David and his crew deliver Quality.
_The_ downtown cafe. Good coffee and pastries, and a hot dog bar. Just what Vallejo needs.
Go there everyday, make my coffee the way I enjoy it. Free daily newspaper, free parking, and most importantly they are 🐕 friendly. ***** 5 stars
Very laid back atmosphere. Friendly and hospitable staff. And the food is not too bad either. Just what I needed, today!
Excellent customer service. Great coffee and danishes.
Like to sit outside, owner David and his employees make a person feel like family. Plus the daily paper .
I normally come on for just a white mocha. The coffee is so good! Runs cheaper than Starbucks as well.
The coffee is just great the espresso shots are nice and strong
Friendly staff and quite locals abound. Nice espresso skills and the bean roasting on site is above average. Drink the Sumatra. They have a few seats outside for dog lovers or fresh air enthusiasts but they should expand because there is lots of outdoor space and the few tables are totally full.
Excellent service! Allen you rock!!! Love those breakfast sandwiches!! Great atmosphere for table top and Illuminati meetings.
Always a wonderful place to visit... Great food, best Chicago dog in town... The best coffe in town also, we go every month to get a bag of their espresso tobtake home... Super friendly staff... A family favorite to visit monthly...
Great place for a bagel with a schmear and coffee. Great internet service. Their hours are a bit limited ... they should be open until 5. This is an old service station that has been converted and renovated - actually a very charming place. Plus they roast their own coffee on the second level and sell their roasted coffee beans. The owner has been a bit more open of late. Still a Vallejo gem. I wish I could just walk there instead of having to drive! A great place with a homey inside.
It was uncomfortable to watch the owner micro manage his staff. Food was mediocre at best, and each plate came out 10 min apart, so we didnt eat together, which defeats the purpose eating out with friends.
I love Java Jax...the food is exceptional and the owner and other personnel are always very nice and professional. They are also very speedy when I call in an order. Great place to have lunch.
The space is kind of odd when you first see it. Not sure what the building was pre-Jax, but it is nice and bright, there was free wifi, and plenty of table and power outlets. It is also located in a great pocket of downtown where there are lots of local-feeling stores.Cool, quirky spot that Ill have to check out again the next time I find myself in Vallejo!
Staff is super friendly and theres always a nice group of customers. Best Lox bagel in Vallejo!
A bit pricey but consistently good food.
Absolutely great coffee that the personally roast. Friendly staff and fresh pastries.
The Italian Beef sandwich was excellent. The service, on parr. The price, very reasonable.
Very cozy and relaxed setting coffee shop. Coffee is excellent more than a few blends .Staff is extra friendly and they have delicious pastries
He has some of the best beans in Vallejo and great breakfast options!
The Latte and Bakery muffin was superb. Nice friendly service.
Great spot. Lovely coffee. Recommend the croissant breakfast sandwich
A fantastic place to get breakfast or lunch in Vallejo. I went for lunch and had the toasted turkey sandwich, my girlfriend got the toasted BLT. Both were fantastic and we would recommend either. Service was good as well, staff was helpful for our first time visiting. Outdoor seating was sparse, there was more on the 2nd level of the building but it was locked. I really enjoyed the general asthetic of the location, would definately visit again!
I just love this spot and the atomosphere.
Refreshingly charming customer service and decently priced food. Consider me a regular!
Good coffee and good people. They also get about a dozen of donuts every day from Vegan Donuts and Gelato.
A great place for coffee and pastries, bring my dog and sit outside to smoke. And free newspaper to read, plus refills.
Good and friendly staff, I have all ways enjoy the Lox Bagels!
Great Italian beef sandwrich. A little pricey.
I love Java Jax. Its my favorite place to get a bagel with lox and creme cheese.
Great local coffee bar! Downtown Vallejo! Repurposed service station where the fuel is now caffeine!
Very yum breakfast and lunch spot. Like one of those sweet secrets of Vallejo.
Nice pastry choices. Great coffee
Great and quick service! The white chocolate mocha is delicious.
Nice place for an old building, but the prices are way to high for the quality of the item you get. The staff can be very snoody as well, which doesnt give off a very friendly or welcoming atmosphere when you go inside. Way to judgmental & rude type of experience for an overpriced watery frappaccino.
Great healthy food and good coffee, a local favorite. Have a bagel!
Awesome morning at Java Jax the old guy behind the counter was awesome !!!!
Really good food and great coffee. All the employees have been very nice and accommodating every time Ive been in.
Good food and coffee
Good food, clean establishment. Biscuit was kind of hard.
Great place! Great coffee!
Good breakfast. Grumpy owner. Just ignore him he’s rude to everyone.
I get the Chicago hot dog for lunch. These dogs have the the pepper thing going like no other place in Vallejo!
Nice cozy place. Breakfast croissant was tasty. Only sad that the espresso machine was broken 😔...
Great place for breakfast with awesome service. Youll really great being here
Tasty and quick. Parking sucks though
Good quality coffee and breakfast sandwiches.
Worries are very pleasant and helpful, great atmosphere
