Food max is a great store. Its large with aisles fairly wide, two carts can easily fit, side by side, or pass each other easily. The store is neat, well lit, clean, shelves well stocked & well organized. The produce section has plenty of popular items. Veggies are attractive & looking nice & fresh. The employees are friendly & ready to help, if needed.

Few associates have very good customer service. The rest needs customer training. Shelves are well organized. Everything is in place and we never have trouble looking for items. The store is clean and tidy inside. However outside, its disgusting for quite some time now. On top of that, it very dark at night. Not very safe for women and children.

Better than Safeway, but more expensive than grocery outlet. You can find all the needed staples, and some great speciality items. Great for produce except organics. Great for canned goods, baking needs, dairy, booze, toiletries, and sodas. Meats, frozen food (except ice cream), bread, and bargain bins left me wanting more. The bargain bins were gross, with products covered in dirt and grime. Overall worth it to save a little bit of money over Safeway, but not enough to turn me from grocery outlet.

I like that its near my house. Give yourself plenty of time because the lines are long and dont move very quickly.The food is less expensive than your more well known stores.The poor supervisor is always looking busy and stressed out. I hope shes being paid well for all that shes responsible for and has to put up with.Ive been there at night. The parking lot often has garbage on the ground. Be vigilant about your surroundings as you walk from your car and into the store.

It has a lot of good stuff. But the only downside is because I was using the food stamp card I cannot use plastic bags, also they always ran out of alfredo sauce. They never ever have it

The Vallejo location is Alright. However I always feel like they just want the consumer to ”think they are getting a good deal, but at the register the total is always SO MUCH, an there are not many items to take home. An I try an shop very conservatively, so Im always hunting for the max amount of value per dollar..so i am left feeling unsatisfied

Store has much like any other grocery store. Feedback, have sanitizer wipes for the carts, clarify if a mask is needed inside or not; there were ppl w/o mask and no staff was correcting that behavior. Keep in mind thats a liability and the owner can be liable for that Business 101.

The cashier gave us 3 plastic bags when we checked out, but when I came home to check the bill, I found that the number of plastic bags entered by the cashier was 8 instead of 3, so we paid an extra 50 cents for the 3 plastic bags . We are not saying that we particularly care about the 50 cents, but I strongly disagree with the cashiers approach. I don’t know if this is the cashier’s requirement of the store (input more bags) or the cashier’s mistake, but a lot of people will come into the store every day to shop, it’s will be a big amount of money if they’re doing this regular. We often come here to shop, but after today I am not sure if I will come here again, even though the prices here are very good.

This location is clean. People observing social distance and everyone wearing mask. Not crowded at 10:30 Saturday morning. Check out was relatively quick with cashiers opening check out when line had five people.

Warehouse style grocery store. Prices are comparable to Walmart Neighborhood Market and Winco stores. Have numerous items marked down on a regular basis for greater savings. Excellent produce department and bakery goods. Employees are friendly. No pharmacy (at least at this store). Security guard present afternoons and evenings. At times, checkout lines can be long so I am giving 4 stars instead of 5.

I LIKE FoodMaxx AND the people who work there. They have stayed open until midnight through Covid.When all the other stores were closed at 8, 9, & 10 PM, you could still go to FoodMaxx until 12 AM.

This is my go to store in Vallejo. Love the self check out which is very convenient for me. The staff is very helpful and security are on their jobs.

If you want the lowest prices in town, go to Food Maxx. The food is quality, the place is kept clean and the product is stocked. Sure it can take longer than other stores but nobody else can touch the selection for the price or vice versa. Friendly, helpful staff.

If you have to go shopping there make sure you look at the dates

Pretty quick in & out for what I needed but thought they could have a better system than having my checker be the one who has to leave his register and go unlock the alcohol cage to get what I wanted...maybe the person standing by at self checkout or a security guard ?

This store is like part Costco and part neighborhood Walmart! Its literally has bulk and small items and an assortment of whatever you need. FoodMaxx is an awesome place to shop!

Ok today, mostly elderly shoppers.I told my wife to stop buying the meat stuff here bec. they are on sale.They are not as fresh as I like them to be. Chewy & hard after cooking.Safeway or Costco meet are way better.

Good store, only grocery store opened past 10 pm since COVID started. Great prices. They also have some fruits and veggies that are hard to find anywhere else such as pluotes and yucca. Only downside is that there are flies in the fruit section.

Good selection, quick checkout. This is a warehouse style store but the prices are much lower than Safeway.

The grocery store that I frequent the most is Good Max. I began shopping here maybe 3 years ago as an alternative to Safeway. The prices here are cheaper for the same grocery items.

Stores webdsite has parsnips, but when I called: 1) no one in produce was available, 2) person answering phone laughed at my question, 3) Answer is that they will not have them any time soon. ...So, what is funny about asking and why does the website have them as available if they know they dont have them and dont plan on having them?

If this country is experiencing a coin shortage, It looks like a anyplace that accepted any type of currency would be happy to take a roll of quarters.. well not this store. I could understand if I wanted to pay for my groceries in all change but I wasnt. Just wanted to unload a roll of quarters I saved up. The problem is she was ready to go home and taking 1.2 seconds to make sure there was $10 took way to much of her time. Heck I offered to count them for her in front of her. Foodmaxx is one of my favorites for top quality meats and produce at prices that are always lower than the competition. Breads and fruits area always fresh and in season. Plenty of parking space even during the holidays.

Today August 29,2020 at 4:06 pm. I have a bad experienced in your store.I dont like the lady in the counter serving me.., the last counter next to self pay counters. She asked me if I need bag & I said yes please...she asked the security guard to get bags..the security guard came back with grocery bags. Im waiting for that lady to give me bag, but she didnt, but she gave bags to a lady next to me..I asked wheres my bag? She only looking at me & ignore me. She supposed to telI me that sorry no more bag. Not that ignoring costumer. I went out from that store with my groceries without bags or plastic.What kind of worker she is in your store ? I love food maxx but your worker is not serving very good to your costumer... She dont have a good manners. Shes not supposed to work at food maxx.I only hope she never do it to some other costumers out there.Thank you.

Amazing prices for the stuff I need

The best thing about this store is the meat and produce. The worst is lack of staff. Checkout is always a long and tedious process. This is exacerbated by long lines and the fact that it is a self bagging facility.

Ordered a cake for 4pm pickup get there No Employee in Bakery Dept had to go up front and ask for them to call someone and the Nice Red head young lady was kind enough after waiting a little to come back and help me herself. She works at the Do it yourself checkout. and she not had to.

Shopped FoodMaxxx, Vallejo 94590 Monday, 10-12-20, 9pm. Was tons of shoppers. Once AGAIN only 1 chkstand open. All 20 or less chkstds were closed. I got in pay line from all the WAAAY back in the store. Next time B4 shopping I gonna see if only 1 chkstand open then I will just go back home. Roy N.

Produce is good, But there is a lot of expired food in the freezer department like the milk and deli meats. I always look out for the dates when I come here. This picture is on April 7, 2019 and this was still on the shelf. There were other items already expired too.

Good grocery store with good prices because you do your own bagging. It can take awhile to get through the register. Meat quality is lower than others.

I found some great bargains. You just need to check out their weekly ad/flyer and walk around and look for little tags, like Red Hot Sale. Found a few that were items I regularly buy and they were like $2.00 less than WalMart!

The stock could be better, neater, and the store cleaner but their prices are a good reason to go there. Their checkers are nice. Dont trust the auto-check out since it was hacked years ago.

Lines were a lil long but shelves were well stocked. Staff were pleasant!

This is our regular grocery store. We like the deals we can find here and its definitely cheaper to shop here than Safeway or Rayleys; however, they are usually slow at check out and typically dont have enough staff on hand. The quality of food also depends on what you get and when...its not the best, but its not bad.The parking lot is pretty gross most of the time.

All the super low prices we expect from FM, but I didnt have to wait in a huge line! I accept long waits for good savings, but this is the first FM Ive been to where I was checked out within a couple minutes of getting in line. Staff was super friendly too!
