One of the managers here was discriminatory in the hiring process. Thankfully, hes no longer there.However, my recent experiences at this Publix has been great. Ive found both young/old Managers courteous, helpful gentleman. Last time I went, leaving at closing time, a young well-built bagger/stocker named Ethan bagged my groceries, then offered assistance to take them to my car. Despite the heavy rainfall, he got a raincoat & umbrella for me. He worked fast while he suggested I sit in the car after my shoes were soaking wet.Publix, you have a star employee who deserves the respect & recognition for his hard work!Plus, beautiful Orchids & flowers!

Unable to find items I needed and then informed theyre closing 2-20 for updating indefinitely. So disappointed with Grocery shopping in Venice but have to settle for it.

Great store with wonde4ful, quality foods & bakery. Theyre pricey though so be prepared. Ive seen some by 1 get 1s & decent sale items. I know its not the norm & none of us knows what to expect next thanks to covid, but last time I was there (1/4) they were completely out of paper towels & only about 2 tp packs left. Just an FYI.

People at this Publix are extremely unpleasant for whatever reason. The deli seems to be under staffed, not fully stocked with sauces and condiments, and the people who work there are kinda rude. Hoping a better experience next time.

I love this store. Small enough to know your name, but large enough for a great selection.

Publix is where I prefer to go grocery shopping mainly because everything is easy to find the employees are more helpful its always clean and the meats are better than any other place and unlike Wal-Mart you dont have to walk for ever to go from one end of the store to the other but if you do its not a mile walk its just a better place to shop period.

Can I put 0 stars? I thought there was a new rule requiring masks of all customers. At a slow shopping time there were at least 5 customers without masks. Publix should offer curbside service if people refuse to wear a mask. Its a perfectly acceptable accommodation if someone has a health condition that provides customer service and keeps the rest of us dafe.

The people working here are great! The shelves are a bit light, probably because of the pandemic but I was able to find some of the missing items at other stores. The smaller size of this one is probably adding to the scarcity of product.

I ordered a cake over the phone for my daughter who lives in Venice. I live in S.C. and was very pleased with the customer service I received over the phone. I was soooo happy when my daughter texted a picture of the cake!! It was perfect! Great job bakery department!! I wish I could attach a pic of the cake, but don’t see a way to do so. It’s tropical!

Typical Publix overall. Usually crowded during season but half empty during summer. Employees are nice. Stock was a little lacking

Best Publix in the State!! Had to move to ENGLEWOOD for economic reasons but I still drive to Venice to get my groceries at the Publix in Venice! They always have EVERYTHING!! The staff is the BEST!! It’s so much cleaner!!! Cashiers are so much quicker and kinder!!! Staff always offers to help you out with your groceries!! I LOVE VENICE VILLAGE SHOP PUBLIX!!❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍

Each time that I come to this Publix.. I experience an unpleasant clerk. I shop at this location for convenience. If I have time I drive to the next closest Publix for a better shopping experience

Im sure Im like most people and like to do ALL their shopping in a single store. And since moving here Ive been doing all my bulk and light shopping here.My last, and I do mean LAST, visit here was less than satisfactory in the customer service area. I was in picking up a sandwich and remembered I needed some deodorant as I was running out at home. FYI Im a solid user. I dont like the spray kind. I normally buy AXE deodorant and body washes. Have been now for years. I also like the fragrances to match. Looking at their selection I saw 5 rows of different types of body wash, 5 rows different body sprays, 5 rows different spray deodorants and 2 rows solid deodorants, which were all the same fragrance which didnt match any of the 5 body washes. When I mentioned this to the store manager his first response was they didnt have enough shelf space, which I can understand. I responded by mentioning that they had two spaces taken up by the same type of deodorant and asked if they could possibly give up one of those spaces to put one in that matched one of the body washes. His response to that was We follow what corporate tells us. REALLY? I thought Publix prided itself on CUSTOMER SATISFACTION! I know this is a pretty petty issue but this is exactly what is wrong with what is happening in this country.....the corporation dictated some asinine rule and you follow it blindly instead of making your customers happy.Well I am happy, shopping some where else.

I went here Friday evening around 6:30 PM. Put my mask on and followed 3 people without masks into the store. They walked right by the employee at the entrance wiping down the grocery cats who never said a word to them even though the sign on the entrance a few feet away clearly states Masks Required. There were numerous other people shopping with no mask protection so I wondered if the mask requirement is just a suggestion? I went to Costco last week and the guy at the entrance would not let me in until I put my mask on. Publix has dropped the ball on this on - I wont be shopping there anymore.

Every time I come into this store they do not have fried chicken. Three times week! Each time when I asked I was told that it would be 20 to 25 min. They had no clue that they didnt have any. Obviously they are not watching the section. Dont know who the Deli Manger is but they need to better train the employees.

Publix always has really fresh produce and the best tasting fresh fruit! I get those things at Publix rather than anywhere else. Great customer service, friendly cashiers and store attendants.I very much recommend Publix.

Just wanted to shout out to Joe in the deli. I called in a complicated order of about 10 sandwiches, at 4pm on July 4, and he put it together with speed and precision, and a smile. Well done!

I live close to 4 Publix and this is my go to store. Best bakery and meat counter out of all of them. Staff is nice and helpful. Cant say that about the other stores.

Disappointed in expired items/bad dates.The first week we were here in Venice, my box of new unopened Kashi breakfast cereal was already stale. When I checked the date, it was within a week of the sell date.Then we had gone back for a regular shopping trip and one of my items was wax paper. Couldnt find it. Not a spot for it. So I bought it at Target across the street.The cashier explained that they are a smaller Publix, I realized thats probably way. And, maybe why I felt why the aisles were smaller and more narrow.So, we came to a conclusion that this wont be our regular shopping store, but just the emergency item store. Even though its the closest.Fast forward one month.We finish dinner while were out and its getting late, the grandbaby is getting fussy, I decide to stay in the car with the baby.He has a special dairy free milk that we need. My husband goes in to buy the milk and notices the stock boy is loading the shelf with said milk that is 4 days PAST DATE. So he is shocked, walks out. No milk. Wonderful. Thank you.

Irs a nice store and pharmacy

Very positive experience. Store appears well lit and clean. Pharmacy was pleasant also.

While the staff are friendly and helpful, the selection in this store is worse than nearby stores. Furthermore, when I ask them to obtain a product I want that can be found in other stores, they wont get them. This is the worst Publix in the area..

The deli and the pharmacy take this store from a 5 star to a 1 star store. Every time I have online ordered from the deli it has been wrong. 4 subs wrong for my birthday dinner and tonight no sub rolls on the first day of a sale. No rolls and subs are on sale. The counter help is unbelievably slow and they always seem understaffed. And the help that is there likes to clean up everything except for one slicer an hour and a half before close. The red headed gentleman in the pharmacy is the rudest person to the customers Ive seen in a while. He seems especially rude to the older customers. Its really inconvenient to get almost everything I need here and have to go to another publix for my deli and pharmacy needs good thing there are 2 others to choose from

Good produce. Wonderful bakery and floral. Wait at deli was long at 2:30 on Sunday off season...and the few staff were working as fast and as friendly as possible.

The stores great, the staff is amazing I just feel bad they have to put up with so many rude northerns. Every time I go there someone runs into my KIDS with their cart and they dont even apologize its happened 4 times. Believe it or not that same crazy person drove a vehicle there.

Never had a bad experience with publix but Denise was the worst cashier i’ve ever checked out with. She has a disgusting attitude & made it seem like it was the worst thing to ever happen to her when I requested a price check on something that I saw a sale on. Girl your life ain’t that hard, you’re a cashier, lighten up lol your job could be a lot harder :)))))

We dont shop here regularly because its expensive but Publix does have a great bakery and deli! their premium ice cream is awesome! This store is almost always packed so my advice is to shop early.

As a Gringo, I know Im spoiled living Miami and shopping at my neighborhood Publix but you need to step up the selection of latin food here, not just Mexican food. I had to drive to North Port Wal-Mart to get yuga and other Latin food. There is a difference.

I bought two HUGE lemon cupcakes for $5.99. What a deal I thought. Until I got home and found they were VANILLA cupcakes with a TEASPOON of lemon curd in the middle. Biggest let down. Everyone tells me the Publix bakery has the best cakes. THEY DONT .

High quality food, coupled with helpful and friendly service makes this Publics my go to grocery store. Frequent BOGOs help to bring down their higher than average prices. The parking lot is a bit limited, unless you enjoy a walk. 😎

They need to train their baggers to bag properly (cold with cold and warm with warm and not all heavy items in one bag). Every Publix I go to bag improperly.

Today Barb made my Sub..She burned my bread, she doesnt know the difference between lite lettuce and no lettuce for that matter she hardly put anything on a my 12 inch Sub. She was in a big hurry and then she litterally threw my Sandwich on the counter like whatever! No customer service skills whatsoever. Barb should be in the back..Michelle was taking her time making nice sandwiches the diffrence was clear. Barb will never make me another sandwitch!

My first Publix. Its a bit small and the the parking lot is as well. Get past that and you will find a friendly clean store.

This is a smaller, older store but is convenient and has what I want 98% of shopping trips.

If I could give it a half star I would. I had an horrible experience there today.. of course it was the deli.I went in to order a sub, for my lunch, and encountered a very rude employee there. Just because someone refused to step up to the sub making counter when there is already two other people getting help for their subs, does not entitle you to be rude to the customer that refused which was me. Some fun facts on why I refused right then and there are that I have extreme anxiety and require an emotional support dog that I usually have with me so situations like this dont happen, but unfortunately my employer does not allow ESA, and I was hungry so I had to bear this situation in order to get something to eat, but anyways, being in a store alone was a big step for someone that has the type of anxiety that i have. But to be in a crowded area was a lot for me, so i kindly refused stepping up right then because I was focusing on breathing as I could feel the attack coming on, and going up there with two other customers in that tight of quarters would have sent me into a full blown attack, so next time some one refuses to step up right then and there please remember there are reasons why people cannot or will not step up, it is not all about you in this world and you are paid to serve and not to be rude!

It was not. There were 2 puppies walking onLeashes all over the store. One was barking and the other did some business in the produce dept. I am a big dog person, but...They do not need to be walking and trained in a food store.

Not the newest or largest of the local stores, but the employees are always friendly and helpful and the food is fresh and well stocked.

Unfortunately, I received incredibly poor service from the Deli. I ordered subs online to be made by a certain time. When they were not made in time and no one was even at the sub station, I could not wait any longer. I called to cancel the order and was promptly hung up upon by a woman working at the deli after a grand total of four second. During the second call, she actually listened to me and cancelled the order, but not before becoming exceptionally rude and defensive. From the way she was acting, I could tell she knew that she made a mistake and was attempting to protect herself. There really was no reason to be that rude, considering the circumstances. She tried to tell me that the subs were there three minutes before the due date, but after explaining that I was there she quickly backpedaled. With no one even working at the station, I strongly suspect she knew she was in trouble.

This is a smaller and older Publix but they still make a great Pub Sub. During season the parking lot is crowded with shoppers and diners so I avoid coming to this location most of the winter months.

A quick stop to pick up ingredients for dinner...always fresh and tasty!

We love publix in general...good everything. The store at 41 and Jackaranda is always so warm, its uncomfortable shopping there. And it is seriously overcrowded. Publix needs to build another store in West Villages to handle all the new growth in this area.

Lisa the cashier forgot to scan my $10.00 worth of coupons. Its sad I need to remind a cashier to follow through with her job duties. Will stay in englewood from now on!
