The owners are from Italy, and bring the Old World Country to America. I have had Gelato this good since I was in Italy. The give a military discount, and really appreciate us. I even got to practice speaking Italian. Wonderful people, even better gelato.

Great flavors and texture in a cozy little shop. There were few pastries when we visited, but they still had a small selection of them and they were participating in the community Halloween celebration, which was nice to see. Service was friendly and quick. It mightve felt a bit rushed, in fact. Prices were fairly reasonable for the quality and variety of gelato. Sizes included small, large, pint, and quart for cups, but they also had a number of cones available.

This exquisite Italian ice cream is the perfect treat on a hot day! My out of town guests were thrilled too!

My mind has absolutely changed after today’s events. My daughters, my grand daughter and I have been coming here almost everyday for the past 10 months because we truly love their gelato, it is a clean environment and the people who work there are usually so pleasant. The lady working there this morning was absolutely rude and asked if she can clean up my table (my daughter and I are grown women who don’t need to be assisted) and told us that apparently she had a few other customers who had to leave because there was no room to sit outside. Basically telling us to leave, even though we were outside and the OUTDOOR area has plenty of seating (being that it is downtown Venice and all) and has more than one table. Isn’t the point of customer service SERVICING your customers? We felt very rushed and do not see it in the future to come back.

2nd time this week that they have closed before their posted hours! Its Friday night at 8:48 and the doors are locked. We tried to enter and the girl behind the counter looked up from counting her money and did the cutting her neck gesture as if to say they are closed. Its Friday night, the restaurants are PACKED with diners and you close over an hour early?? Which by the way, even for Venice standards, is ridiculously early especially for anyone serving any type of food not to mention dessert. Does the owner condone this? Dont you want customers??The first time they did this was earlier in the month and again closed down well before 9:00pm.Well that was your last chance for me & my family.Your gelato isnt even that good, it just happens to be the only gelato place in town. You are overpriced with a mediocre product and definitely a lazy staff.By the way, there was 11 of us. That may have been worth it.Kilwins ice cream is right up the street and is absolutely fantastic. Friendly staff, fair prices and a very tasty treat! We all enjoyed it.

First time around here, the espresso we were served was good. Lady behind counter was not particularly friendly.The machines / music very loud.But, we appreciated the espresso hence the three stars.

Best gelato I ever had, and I had some. Coffee is great, Starbucks move over. Should be 6 stars because the ice is espresso flavor that make the coffee extra cold and good.

In response to your message: lady, being the owner of Ciao Gelato you were rude and very angry, you do not go throwing people out, and especially regular customers. My mom was sitting at the table while I was in your store looking for a blueberry muffin that you did not have. You are rude and have no customer service skills.

Had a waffle cone with the SOTD Chocolate Peanut Butter. Had chuncks of chocolate with chopped peanuts inside. That was a tasty surprise. Also had the Egg Nog and the flavor came through so well. I HIGHLY recommend this as a trwat while shopping!

We stopped in to get gelato after hearing such good things. The gelato was piled onto the cup and overflowing, so by the time we briskly walked a block to an open bench downtown, it had become a mess and dripped down my husband’s legs and shoes as he walked. My cookies and cream tasted more like birthday cake and my husband was unimpressed with his dark chocolate. Both went in the trashcan in minutes and we had to make alternate dessert plans. We love gelato so we were so disappointed. The staff was extremely nice to my husband though.

Actually went here for cappuccinos and lattes for mid-morning and then stayed for the gelato. They have some outdoor seating on the sidewalk so it was great to sit out there and enjoy our coffee. The gelato reminded us of Europe. Friendly staff, seems to be lots of regulars and they know them all.

For a very Italian town that has no real Italian bakery on its main street, this is my favorite for something sweet. Im not an ice cream fan, but I love good gelato. Ive had many flavors off their menu and its all good...even though stracciatella is my favorite! Its the right density, and they serve it warmer than ice cream which is how it should be! And there are always nice servers behind the counter!

Delicious way to end a visit to Venice.

Gelato tasted good, but is not user friendly for elderly or people who take more than 2 minutes to eat the small cup. I asked for a medium cup to put my fathers small cup in that was melting all over the place in the 95 degree heat and was told that I had to pay 25¢ for the bigger cup. Seating inside was full. Ended up having to use about 50¢ of their paper towels to help him clean up the melting mess. Please rethink that policy!

Best dessert in Venice! Located in the middle of down town this sweet treat is great as an afternoon snack or for dessert after dinner. My personal favorite was the chocolate mixed with the peanut butter! So yummy!

This place has the best gelato in Venice. It is expensive but it is worth it because it is real gelato. It tastes like gelato you would get in Italy. The owner and the staff is very friendly. It is worth the drive from Port Charlotte.

Really good place and worth a stop. I am not a huge fan of Gelato but the wife and kids seem to love it. I am just more of a fan of the harder hand dipped home made ice cream. This is more like a soft serve dessert and its good but not for me..... They did have some Macaroons that were wonderful and I enjoyed a coffee and lemon Macaroon and the family all had Gelato everyone is happy

Ive come here since the place opened to enjoy the fresh sorbet. Now Im so happy to see sugar-free gelato, vegan gelato, alcohol-infused gelato, and gelato sandwiches added to the mix! Ive tried the vegan peanut butter, chocolate, hazelnut, and coconut, and all have been great!

We went here because we saw that they have MULTIPLE vegan options. Besides sorbet, they have a few different flavors of vegan gelato made with oat milk. It is AMAZING!!! My mind was actually blown and i had to have my non-vegan boyfriend try it to make sure it was actually vegan! So creamy and DELICIOUS!! it is very hard to come across a good vegan gelato and especially somewhere with multiple vegan/allergy friendly options so this spot is a MAJOR win-win!The girls working were so sweet and helpful. they also informed us that the dairy free gelatos are made separately so there was no need to worry of Cross-contamination.We will definitely be going back here!

Sad little icecream parlor. Lacked the creaminess you would expect from Gelato. Their cases were have empty and when asked for a sample they sad the couldnt because of covid. So you can stick you hand and scoop my icecream but not put your hand in the case for a sample, just poor customer service since every other parlor still provides samples. Their chocolate gusto was chocolate boring. Oh well pretty more parlors to try.

I cant have dairy, and was pleasantly surprised to find their wide range of delicious non dairy options. The no sugar added strawberry was divine. Will definitely be going back. Highly recommend.

Went in on an early Sunday afternoon. Counter person was extremely pleasant. Selected the chocolate, which was excellent, as good as what we had in Italy during a recent trip there. They will mix 2 flavors even in the small serving. They had many different flavors, I also saw baked goods.Will definitely be back.
