Great service and a good price! They found a leak I had in my AC system and my car went from blowing hot air to keeping me cool during these 90 degree days. Would recommend!

I have had my vehicle at this place two times. Both times I have been treated amazing. I was given all of the information each time. The first was a simple battery, but I was provided some tips for dealing with the battery on my specific model of vehicle. The second time, I was dealing with a blown AC compressor during 95+ degree weather. They called to let me know the warranty people were not being cooperative and only willing to cover just over half of the factory part. It was explained to me very clearly what it would mean if I went with the warranty companies part versus The Car Shops recommendation. These folks give you like it is and I would 100% recommend them. Honesty in the car world is in short supply but not at The Car Shop.

I called them up the day before asking about availability and what they could do my window, they were honest saying that they’ll do their best and get me in the next day but it’ll depend on the extent of what’s wrong. Next day they call me in the morning informing they have a part on standby and I’m all good to come in. They get my door panel off, see what’s wrong, get it fixed, and me out the door in LESS than an hour! Great job on their part and even showed me what went wrong and why it could be. Super friendly and reasonable guys, plus discount for our services members. If you’re in the military or even if you’re not, great place to go with fair priced labor and factory priced parts!

My shifter sensor wasn’t working and Jeff took care of my car and me. He called me with updates through the entire process. He was professional and got me the best deal possible and worked with me on availability for pickup. I highly recommend this shop

Was given a dubious $600 quote from Hall Mazda to fix a lift gate that wouldn’t open. The quote was to replace the lift gate latch that was “mechanically broken”. Brought it here for a second opinion, Steve took all of a couple minutes to run a diagnostic and fix the problem by resetting a code. Wasn’t even going to charge me since he fixed it while simply conducting the estimate (paid some anyway because I was so grateful). I couldn’t recommend The Car Shop any higher!

The car shop is a straight forward repair shop that honestly tells you what is wrong with your car and they charge you a great price to fix it. I am not an expert with cars and I feel like they always explain everything thoroughly and give me options on my repairs. I most recently had a major repair that a rival shop quoted me over $1,100 to fix. I ended up taking it to the car shop and they explained that the rival shop was inflating the repair and I didnt need everything they were telling me it needed. The car shop ended up fixing my mangled car for around $600 which is about half what the other shop was going to charge me. Overall the car shop is a great place to trust with any of your car repair needs.

My experience at The Car Shop was excellent in every way. When my car popped an alternator light, a friend strongly recommended this shop for any work that I needed done. When I called, they were able to take my car in right away. Since I was having work done anyway, I also asked them to inspect and recharge my air conditioner as well. While they were doing this they discovered a major failure in a component that had been discontinued. Instead of giving up, the staff at The Car Shop went out of their way to develop a solution that fixed the problem and returned the system to full function. They were knowledgeable, professional, and went the extra mile for me. I will work with them again if I have car issues and will recommend them to friends.

Chip and Jeff have been nothing short of incredible every time Ive had to get my vehicles serviced. Auto repairs can get costly and stressful and these guys take a lot of anxiety out of the process. They are thorough in explaining their diagnostic process and always work with customer to work out the best solution to fit their needs. We were here on vacation and had car problems and they were so helpful and accommodating. They fixed our car while we waited and charged us a reasonable price. If we ever need help with our car while were in the Virginia Beach area we will definitely be back!

I moved to the Hampton Roads area in 2013. Unfortunately, The Car Shop was 6th car shop I tried since I got here. Growing up in a Gear Head house with my dad being a Rolls Royce mechanic from Memphis and being able to fix anything he touched; I have very high standards when it comes to who touches my cars. From day one these guys were very honest, friendly, accommodating, and genuinely helpful. Their communication about what is going on with whatever vehicle of mine they have worked on is stellar. Pricing is always very fair and they have never once come up with any BS reason for extra repairs. They have worked on 4 different cars and a jet ski for me. As long as I live in the area, this is the only place I would ever take my vehicles for service and repair. All around a great place!

On vacation and no a/c and front blower goes out on my car....Jeff the owner not only gets my car in right away but honestly gets the job done. He even recommend some places for good seafood while were here. Very friendly honest shop. THE CAR SHOP is the BEST!!!!!

This is hands down the best auto shop I’ve ever used. I’ve been to the shop for everything from a chipped flywheel (major repair) to a “service 4wd” light that only required an electrical connector to be reseated (minor repair which they charged me nothing to fix). Each time I come into the shop they show me which parts they replaced and take the time to explain why it needed to be replaced. Also, they will not charge you for unnecessary repairs if they cannot replicate the issue you have described. They are great about recommending repairs that may save you money in the long run. For example, my flywheel repair required a transmission drop, and they offered to change my rear main seal at no extra labor cost because it is a known issue in my vehicle and they had already done the work to expose that part. It cost me an extra $25, and potentially saved me an additional $1,200 to drop the transmission again in a year or two to access that area. I trust this shop, and I highly recommend them to anyone in need of a trustworthy, knowledgeable mechanic.

Getting my car serviced here was great experience all around. Unfortunately my air conditioner broke just as summer is rolling in, making it very uncomfortable to drive. In an effort to get my AC fixed as soon as possible, The Car Shop was able to take me in for a diagnostics test the same day I made the appointment. Not only were they accommodating to my schedule, but I felt they were very honest by giving me some of my options on getting the car fixed. When it came to filing a claim to my Carmax Maxcare extended warranty, they did a great job at ensuring that got taken care of as well. They got the part the following Monday and my car was fixed the same day. Would definitely go back!

They have fair prices and great service. They have been consistent throughout the years. I feel comfortable with their advice. They dont try to upsell or lead you to get extra services. I found them tucked in a small commercial complex area, after heavy research.Some mechanics are quick to tell you that service NEEDs to be done accordingly to the manufacture, and this shop looks at your car before telling you if it NEEDS it or its got a couple more miles to go. They are happy to cater to your way of service, and this place gives you options not ultimatums.

Recently drove down from Bethesda with my wife, son and his family for a week at Sandbridge. Experienced some severe brake problems that required immediate servicing. My son and I chose the Car Shop after researching online the local brake repair shops.Jeff and his team were extremely professional in explaining the problem and repair options. Service was very timely ... same day ... and price was reasonable for the extent of required repairs based on extensive past experience. Very satisfied.

I thought I had found my repair guy, After using many in the area Jeff at the Car Shop seemed to be honest and fair in his business practices. I had work done on both of our cars in 2014, spending nearly $3000 total, a radiator was installed on my jeep as one of the repairs. The one year warranty supplied on parts and labor. One year and 43 days later this top quality OE part failed and the supplier is unwilling to bend on his warranty. The suppliers used are the problem here, possibly using suppliers who take pride in their workmanship and the parts they make would help the hard working people who do business here. In this case I cannot afford to replace the radiator and if not for another local shop who cares and wants future business that has offered to honor the warranty on parts and labor, I would have to park the Jeep and walk to work. I am taking future business elsewhere.

These guys were extremely eager to get started on my truck and had it done in a timely manner at an affordable rate and knew exactly what they were doing. If anything happens later down the road, The Car Shop 100% has my business and my money.

My 2004 Kia Sorento was in need of some TLC and these guys delivered. The insurance company I work for thats the 2nd largest in the world brings our fleet cars here so thats says a lot by itself. Very honest mechanics and thats hard to find nowadays. I called on wednesday morning to have several things done and car was ready by noon AND its running good. Stop bringing your car to the other guys and bring it to these guys. Fair prices and honest people.

Went to get my AC serviced and $183.54 later, the AC feels thesame. I am highly disappointed. Not sure what he did to the minivan to warrant that much. Got a pricing in powerstering pump replacement and the charging $300 more than the Honda dealership. All I can say is stay away from this shop they are overpriced and dont do anything to your car. I have learned my lesson. If I could give them a minus star I would.
