My wife and I visited for the first time on a Saturday morning for breakfast and found excellent coffee, a great atmosphere, a very friendly and attentive staff, plus excellent tasting food. In addition to tasting great, the ingredients were obviously high quality. We loved it and will definitely go back and try their lunch menu!
Yesterday when I went to breakfast a young lady gave me wonderful customer service and made me a good frappe but it was all down hill from there. My eggs where hard and rubbery I had to send them back twice. I decided to cancel them. My biscuits and gravy where cold and had to be microwaved. I saw a man with the same look I gave the eggs but he was hungry and ate them anyway. I dont mean to be cruel but I do have to be honest. Maybe someone should teach the cook how to cook first. Better luck next time hopefully
The 2 stars are for the food alone. Service was terrible. Was at the table an hour before we got our food. The tables around us had people at them when we arrived, those people finished their meals, left and the people that sat down at those tables were served before us. Said something to the waitress because we had to be somewhere and her response was everyone else has been waiting too. Not a sorry, Ill check on it. Food was good but not good enough to go back.
Great food and an even better atmosphere. Highly recommended
The food was so good however the service was Horrible. Get there and it’s forever for someone to take our drink order and give us menus then asked for extra lemon for our drinks and didn’t get that til the end. Food was fabulous. Loved it. But and big but. Not once did anyone come ask to refill our drinks and when we asked one one for a refill and a to go box the lady just stood at the counter for a while before moving. There was no over customers that needed her. If I go here again, I will preorder food togo.
My cousin wanted to try this place. We walked in and sat down. I ordered the Turkey Cranberry sandwich. Yes, I will be returning. I would have liked to have shown you a picture but the sandwich was so awesome. When I return, Ill share it with you. (Pictures...haha)
Really quaint little cafe. Breakfast was very good and coffees were excellent. They have a really nice market in the back room. Looks as if locals really work hard to support this establishment. Kudos
The pumpkin soup is outstanding! Ready to go back for pumpkin pancakes. They were a favorite of mine last year. Good food, good cause, and GREAT people!
The food is good, and the service is attentive. However, this place is about more than just a meal. World Cup Cafe is part of a ministry that helps an underserved community by providing jobs and a sense of community. Having a good meal and making a positive impact is a win in my book.
A great spot to get a bite to eat all while doing some good for the world! This place is owned by a non-profit and they do amazing things for the local community.
I absolutely love this little hidden gem! I try to come here whenever I am in town. Nothing else compares to the greatness of this place! Its definitely worth making the time to come by and grab some amazing breakfast or lunch!
I’m saying this pretty late but wow today 06/18 I was amazed by the sheer gravity of selflessness the workers had at @wccfairtrade Javier especially for trying to help me even after the meal ended. Our car broke down after the amazing lunch we had. Realizing we had a dead battery Javier did everything he could, beyond thankful the grace he had shown my family. So extremely grateful to his manager as well for allowing him to help, thank you to all involved. Aside from all the commotion after our meal... our entire first experience WCC was delicious! Food was fresh and tasty, Can’t wait to go back ❤️
Good food, but pricey for the amount. Really cool souvenir shop behind the restaurant.
Good food. Chill vibe and most importantly, good coffee. Also, walk through the Fair Trade Market past the bathrooms. You will findp gorgeous gifts for everyone.
Everything about this place is just nice, and by everything I mean the food, overall vibe, and the counter people... They were even nice enough to give free food a homeless person that came in
The food is exceptional. I ordered the breakfast tacos which I inhaled and the homemade tortillas were superb. However, their best dish was their pancakes. By far the best I’ve ever had.
Very clean place! Waitresses/staff friendly and attentive. The food was great!
Poor seating. Had to wait on coffee (for spouse) so my mocha was room temperature when it arrived. Egg shells in my eggs. Bacon tasted old. Never got the water we ordered. Panhandler approach us while eating. Don’t recommend. Very dissatisfied
Dont have 4 hours to wait in line at Magnolia Table? You gotta check out one of the best breakfast spots in Waco! Just eating here makes you feel like a better person. The WCcafe is part of Mission Waco and they do so much for the local communitys poor. They also have a fair trade store located in the restaurant that has a large variety of gift items hand made from people all over the globe. And they DO FOOD WELL, and at great prices too! Add a CHICKEN FRIED STEAK onto their staple COLCORD breakfast plate for 2 dollars... Yes please! Their pancakes are really good, but IMO what steals the show is the HASHBROWNS, homestyle and crispy. You cant go wrong with anything on the menu, and their COFFEE is better than most!
Diner atmosphere. Good food. OK prices. Felicia is gem!
What a lovely concept and vibe! & outstanding work in the kitchen. service was super efficient and would highly recommend sitting at the bar. so cute, ill be back! take your kids, take your grandparents, take your solo self, take your date. great place to visit in waco :)
Great breakfast. Service pleasant. Scrambled eggs serviced just like I wanted.
Pleasant atmosphere, inviting aromas. Relaxing.
Best food around, service is top of the line
Just left the place after waiting for a while before 11 server came at 1050 gave us breakfast menu then proceeded to take them back saying breakfast was over. So sad my daughter just wanted a stack of pancakes but they couldnt make them.
Sweet staff. Our gentleman server was super nice And attentive. Will come back .
Great selection of choices for your breakfast or just a coffee. My option for the Texas toaster was delicious as the coffee. Friendly customer service and fast to place your order. Its worth to visit!
Coffee it is absolutely phenomenal fish hands down I would have to say best in town burgers are also really good and greasy at least mine was.. then to this place at least five times maybe someday Ill think about taking a picture
Got food togo and for the price and the amount of food I got it was great! Tasted great too. Very clean and cozy inside as well.
Not kid friendly. No high chair or booster seat. No kid menu. Food just okay. Barely anyone in restaurant and yet service was not great.
Never got my food. Waited an hour and 15 minutes. When we asked the waitress about our food, she said it would come in the order orders were put in. We were the first people there in the morning.
This is a great place to grab coffee and hang out with friends. I particularly love World Cup Cafe and fair trade because of their work as part of mission Waco to bridge the gap between the poor and marginalized in the community. Each time you patronize something here, youre contributing to the impact their having in Waco!
Food and chai lattes were amazing!!! Eggs were cooked perfectly and pancakes were huge and delicious. I didnt get her name but the young lady working the front this morning was attentive and terrific!! Will definitely come back.
EXCELLENT FOOD! Ordered burger, fries, a chicken fried steak sandwich.
Awesome, quaint little place. Great prices and value for common breakfast dishes, that were actually far better quality than most other breakfast places Ive been to
The food was great, the service was outstanding. We sat at the bartop, daughter of the owners took care of us, she just made the great food experience even better with her service and company. Family owned, locals, born and raised; affordable, its a proper Waco experience.
We’re passing through on a road trip and have felt pretty out-of-place all through Texas. This is the first place we stopped where I felt comfortable and unjudged. You can tell this is a place where everyone is welcome, even if you’re different. I liked that all the food was relatively affordable with large portions. All the employees were wearing masks correctly, and it was clear that the tables had been cleaned. We didn’t have time to check out the market, but we wish we could have.
Its the best place for fresh hot food it is prepared when you order the place is clean clean clean just a wonderful atmosphere you would enjoy your meal either picking it up or dining in its the best. By the way its served up Mediterranean food the real thing. Visit for yourself.
Cozy breakfast spot with a small traditional American breakfast fare menu. Small fair trade curios shop adjacent.
Wow!!! very, very good food!! enought to give it my first 5*.....After walking out of Magnolia coffee, all hipe and no real breakfast… This place rescue us..Family owned, scratch kitchen.. including the tortilla( hard to make) A must, 100%...and they are fast... If you also MUST have that coffee house pastry, down the st. is a real bakery!!!! Bake Bliss excellent cinnamon rolls..
Food was good. Service was fast. Enjoyed our visit there.
Great staff, great atmosphere, and a great idea to run a restaurant that helps the community. Its more a diner that makes scratch meals than it is a cafe, but theres a good variety of options--the lentil patty is very tasty. Definitely check out the free-trade market in the back before you go (or while youre waiting--the service can get pretty slow during the lunch rush, but its for a worthy cause).
Wonderful! Great little cafe and super awesome fair trade market. The food was delicious and the people are so friendly. Will definitely return!!
Amazing bacon! Delicious meal!
Good food, great prices! Loved the fair trade shop.
Nice friendly service and decent food. The morning I visited was rather quiet.
We had the BLT, chicken-fried steak, and fries. The food was tasty but the fries were perfect. I would love to see a poutine dish made with those fries one day.
Unique place with excellent food.
This place was precious! The staff was eager to serve and was very personable. The food was delicious & the epitome of a yummy diner brunch.
World Cup Cafe is AMAZING! Had breakfast and it was fantastic! Super crisp hash browns, crispy bacon, fluffy pancakes and great coffee (not too weak!). Also the Fair Trade Market has a wide variety of products that you really feel good about buying knowing that the artisans are getting paid what they deserve and not being cheated or taken advantage of. This is a great place with great food and service!
Good spot for quality cafe food. Fell in love with this place from the 1st taste. I will be bringing family next time. Prices were appropriate.
It was great. Service was and the food
This place has amazing breakfast! The pancakes, French toast, and breakfast bowl are so good! Everyone is so friendly and the atmosphere is clean and inviting. Definitely coming back when I come to Waco!
Fun, local, and money supports incredible projects for Waco and her people.
Lovely place to eat, delicious food, and great customer service.
Fun place to eat and shop.
Great food, and very fast service very clean, must wear a mask. Prices are a little too high!
Great food, awesome service
Amazing people and amazing food. Texas toast breakfast sandwich is amazing!
This place is so awesome. They make sure all their ingredients are fair trade and the business helps Mission Waco, a homeless program. There was so much food and everyone in the restaurant was so friendly. The food was like a good old fashioned cafe. Highly recommend
Cafe food, mmm, so good. i love it here. the service was very kind and attentive.
I love the world cup Cafe great food good atmosphere a little pressure that I prefer but still okay.
I met up with a friend here for breakfast and had a great experience! The service was great and the food was tasty. The food was simple, yet filing and delicious. Also, I love supporting local businesses and going to World Cup Cafe to help Mission Waco was a win-win for me.
Loved the food! Selections are limited (which I like), but done really well. Omelet was light and fluffy, and the pancake was so flavorful I would not even use syrup. And the prices are reasonable. My service was friendly and fairly quick. I will definitely be back
Delicious and satisfying! Pancakes the size of your head, probably the best toast Ive had at a restaurant for breakfast and thick, salty, real bacon. They also feature big bend coffee so it is a good, deep brew. I love that it was all fresh, real food, nothing tasted like big boxes shipped from place to place thats been frozen, thawed, frozen, then cooked. The chicken fry was the only thing that I dont think was hand prepped. Still, very good food with a good purpose.
Absolutely love this place. What a gem! The food is more than reasonably priced for the amount and quality of food you get. Service was spot on and everyone is very friendly. Cute and clean. Will definitely be coming back and cant wait to bring friends and family. Thumbs up to Misson Waco and what they have been able to accomplish.
Worst experience ever! Was there on Monday. Walked in, never greeted. She came to our table 5 minutes later, still no friendly greeting. We never got refills, I never saw her the whole hour we waited for our food. My husbands food sat in the window ten minutes prior to the rest of our food being finished. As she was standing at the window waiting for the rest of our food to be done, she was touching her hair then playing on her phone. After we received our food which was not the greatest, we never saw her again. I had to go to the register to receive and review my bill. As a breakfast server myself I was totally appalled. Nobody wants to be waited on by someone who clearly doesn’t want to be there. I think she should start looking for a new job that she’s good at cause this isn’t it
Everything done properly. Comfortable dining area. Neighbors seem to meet here. A 5 out of 5 on the bacon scale. Eggs, potatoes and biscuits top notch. Coffee roasted in Marfa and served hot. Happy staff. Very clean in all respects. Fair Trade store in the back half of the building. We found this cafe while driving from Plano to Austin, and will return during our next trip.
Come have you some good food while helping out the community and parts of the world. You will understand if you stop by.
The food is amazing and well worth your dollar! I was amazed to see that the profit earned from this establishment is put back into the community, through Mission Wacos various projects . If you havent made time, please stop by and grab a meal for a great cause. By the way, you have to try their breakfast tacos!
Food was so good! My friends and I had a wonderful server. Their sourdough toast is the best Ive ever had. Good, fair prices. Amazing items for sale in the market. I would go back to Waco just for the food here
Love the atmosphere
Get educated on fair trade while you are here. Buying coffee and chocolate fair trade is the most helpful thing to impact the most people. We do Christmas and gift shopping here. The cafe has made to order food, and each time I’ve gone the food has been excellent. Supporting World Cup Cafe is supporting hard working people in our community through Mission Waco and the world.
Absolutely excellent food great service and staff. Great environment. Fair Trade has amazing items to purchase and for truly wonderful cause. Kim and Buddy
If I were the owner I would find new wait staff. Waited 15 minutes to get looked at 8 times before someone finally aknowdeged us. Coffee was empty for over 20 minutes and asked 2 for more before going to get it myself. Food was great but wouldnt go back because the wait staff was horrible and not inviting.
Real good food and they make you feel appreciated as a customer.
Ordered Breakfast. Husband had the Omelette (Bacon, Spinach and Cheese with a Pancake on the Side). I had the Breakfast Burrito (Spinach and Pepper Jack). While the ingredients are simple the food tastes epic! Bacon in my Husbands Omelette was in tiny pieces and super crispy and the Pancake had a nice crunch on the corners and it was super fluffy in the middle. We both loved it here! The Staff was really friendly and paid good attention! I havent had such great food and service in a long time! We will definitely be back ...
One of my favorite places to eat out. The service is always great, food from order to table is timely. Generous portions too. Best part is the $$ go to a worthy cause benefiting #Mission Waco. I highly recommend!
Good folks here. We came at a strange time of day and they made coffee especially for us. Got 2 unique and creative birthday cards and a very cool bracelet too. Hidden treasure in Waco!
Exceptional pancakes!Staff very friendly and service was great.
Good cafe style food and the chef was really friendly. He came out of the kitchen to say hi and talk to everyone eating. There is a shop in the back with really unique items.
I cant find anything negative to say about this place. My fiance and I spent a little over 17 dollars and were stuffed. The attitude of the staff was stellar, service was awesome, and the food was great.
Fantastic breakfast... loved their pancakes and French toast.
Great food and good shopping!
Great service, food and nice clean space. I like it!
Service was good and food was great.
The food was really good. The service was great as well. We were cutting it close on the breakfast time but the worked with us and allowed us to order breakfast.
Cute place. Good food and service!
Supposed to be the best breakfast in Waco. Definitely NOT the day we went. Gravy on the biscuits tasted like the canned variety, bacon tasted like plastic, hash browns absolutely drowned in clarified butter (?) and cold. Coffee was hot and strong, and the eggs were on point. Wait service was friendly and fast. We were told that they were training new cooks, and I think Ill give them the benefit of the doubt and try this place again later. So...2 stars, one for service, one for coffee and eggs.
Ive been to the restaurant 10+ times. After talking to my wife, we decided to leave a review. The food is very tasty. But the service is very variable, most of the time somewhat poor. We have had two experiences that left us not really wanting to visit the restaurant anymore, except for maybe take out. The first one, we waited 45 minutes for my food with my wife and my one year-old during my 1-hour lunch break. The second one, it was just poor service, we waited 7-10 minutes to actually try to place an order, so I went to the counter to place it (which the waiter did not seem to like). We did not get a chair for our baby offered so we had to ask for one. Also we waited on the food for about 15 minutes. When it was time to leave, I waited in the front counter to pay for several minutes while two waitresses were not busy. They were not short-handed nor busy, the front staff and kitchen staff were sharing videos/pictures on their cell phones and one of them was having a drink behind the counter. One person from the kitchen came to the front several times. I actually watched my food sit on the counter for about 10 minutes before it was served. My wife and I like to support small business, and well continue to do that. For this restaurant, we probably will order food 15 minutes ahead of time and pick it up to go, and if not ready we will just not take it. That is if we come back. On a side note, if you have plenty of time to spare, do not have children, and want a relaxed environment, you may not notice or care about the service problems. As a paying customer with a family and not enough time to spend, you may not have a good experience.I hope the restaurant owners read this review and pay more attention to the skills the employees are using while running the restaurant.
Food was delicious. My biscuits are gravy came out so hot I couldnt eat them 1st.
Good food and reasonably priced, service was good, but can always be improved. Nice fair trade store in the back with lots of interesting stuff!
Very unique experience. The food was expertly prepared and the presentation was excellent. The only hitch was that my club sandwich didnt get bacon on it but when we pointed it out the chef immediately came out to apologize. The staff is friendly and the portions were plentiful. We will definitely return and recommend.Randy and Debbie WimberleyWaco
Great place to go eat with family and friends. Great customer service. The food was great for it being my first time eating here 💕💕👍👍
