I needed a very specific height for my 2 bunk beds since my space has a low ceiling and I wanted to have sufficient clearance for the person on the top bed without sacrificing space on the lower. Ray fashioned my beds so that the beds were lowered to approx 1/4 inch from the floor, thereby giving us the headroom on the top bunk that I wanted. They are perfect in the space. They were very easy to assemble, taking about 15 minutes each to complete. The beds are very stable as well. I am extremely pleased with this purchase. Thanks, Ray.

All our daughter has talked about at the start of this year was how much she wanted a Loft Bed. In particular, she hoped to have it for her birthday this year and Ray was able to make that happen. Like others mentioned, Ray takes pride in his work and takes the time to explain everything in detail as to what hes able to provide and what makes the most sense for a given situation or room layout.The build quality is amazing and Ray was able to accommodate our request to keep the wood bare so we could prime and paint it to match the other decor. Ray went above and beyond in that aspect and made sure it was already sanded so we just had to prime, paint, and put it together. Putting together was a breeze too with the instructions and the hardware provided.We have one happy daughter and two jealous siblings so Im sure well be back!

Extremely disappointed in the customer service provided. As a fellow business owner I understand the difficulties that the pandemic have placed in the obstacles that are also new so I allow Grace in many situations. This review is more geared towards the customer service rather than the quality of the bed because I do believe they make a great product.I reached out to Ray about ordering three very custom beds for my children after talking for a few days he invited me and for a 9:30 appointment which he didnt arrive to until 10:30 with no call or text or anything.He seemed very excited about my order hestood to have an invoice that equated to a few thousand dollars. we talked for several days I requested an invoice several times as in my opinion it doesnt make sense to have so much conversation if the price point doesnt match the budget. It seemed virtually impossible to get an invoice and when I did get an invoice there were so many things on it and it was handwritten so it was hard to read and had tons of additional charges that I wasnt expecting.He invited me into the store to talk and to see one of the beds he gave me a specified time I agreed he then cancelledI then got a phone call from Jake one of his employees who said he never got the message that I wasnt coming and he invited me to still come in to see the bed they had made he was kind and really tried to understand what I needed he offered to rewrite the invoices we went over them together in conjunction with the prices from the site and the prices from the original invoice I offered to buy a bed out of the showroom to alleviate cost and we came up with an entire plan that got me into the budget I was hoping to be within. Well once the invoice was given to Ray he added several miscellaneous charges one with included an additional $250 on to the delivery that he was already charging me $500 for.I let Jake know my budget was $4,000 and if the beds couldnt be done within that price point that I would have to go elsewhere Jake at least called back and apologized and said that they wouldnt be able to help Ray didnt even have the courtesy to respond. Im sad to say that I wouldnt recommend this business to friends and family based off of the experience that I had

Ive never written a negative Google review, as I try to give small business owners every opportunity to make things right and also try to give people the benefit of the doubt during the pandemic. The fact that Im writing a negative review for the first time illustrates how deeply disappointed I am in The Bunkbed Barn, especially given all the other glowing positive reviews. Here are just a few of the many reasons our experience was a disaster:1) Within a few days of the bunk bed being delivered, one of the corner posts started to crack for no reason at all (see picture). I tried multiple times to call and text the owner Ray, but have been ghosted. He says on his website that he guarantees his bunkbeds for life. Unfortunately, this appears to be an empty promise.2) I asked him to make some slats for us instead of a bunkie board. We agreed this would happen. When the bunk bed was delivered, there were no slats, even though the previous day, I reminded him as well as the nice gentleman who delivered the bunk bed about the slats. Ray promised to deliver the slats on a Saturday. When Saturday arrived, I got a call stating that he had an emergency that forced him to turn his van around. He promised to deliver them Monday - fine. On Monday morning, I didnt hear anything from him. I called him and he told me he was at an auto shop because his brakes needed to be replaced. I honestly dont know whether he was telling the truth or just making something up because he didnt want to come out and fix the delivery problem. Regardless, I give him an ultimatum: deliver the slats the next day or refund the delivery fee. I dont normally do things like this, but it was important to prevent him from continuing to kick the can down the road.He did deliver the slats the next day, but we were really disappointed to learn that basically he just bought some boards at a lumber yard, which we could have done ourselves without the markup. We assumed he was going to cut them. Also, the slats reeked of cigarette smoke.3) It was virtually impossible to get an initial invoice, and when I finally did get one, there were charges that we never discussed, including an extra charge for custom staining (we bought a stain for him to use - he never said he would charge for using it). I let it slide because I was trying to support his small business and knew that the pandemic had make things hectic for him. But in light of how poorly we have been treated since then, letting it slide was a mistake.I hope Ray will take this feedback and use it to improve his business. In the meantime, I would caution others against buying anything from him unless he gets his act together.

I just got two sets of lofts made for my kids and they ar e very sturdy and looks great. I was very pleased with Ray and his too partners. They all show great customer service and got my beds done and delivered within days of my order. I would recommend this place if you want good quality and not compress wood

We ordered a loft bed for my daughter from the Bunk Bed Barn. Ray went through all of the options and available add-ons in detail. We picked up the bed, unloaded it at home, and discovered there was an issue. I contacted Ray and, after apologizing repeatedly, said he would fix the problem. He definitely lived up to his word and took care of it promptly.During this process, I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Al and Jake. Both are very skilled at creating these beds and clearly take pride in their work. They answered any additional questions I had and were very helpful.We finally assembled the bed according to the detailed instructions Ray provided and gave it a quick coat of lemon oil, as recommended by both Al and Jake. The bed looks amazing and is solid.I can definitely recommend the Bunk Bed Barn. Snags and miscommunication can happen in any business. However, I judge a business more on how they resolve issues and react in these situations. Ray, Al, and Jake at the BBB definitely put customer first in their own respective roles. They were committed to us being satisfied and our daughter being happy with her bed.

Don’t order from this website, ordered a bed from my son and paid the deposit and never got the bed. Was told that it would be delivered one day and never came and then had MULTIPLE excuses on why he couldn’t deliver it, something always came up. Then I even offered to pick the bed up and guess what no response. Please don’t waste your time or money. And the part that really upset me was telling my son that he was going to get the bed, he was so excited. We moved out all of the old furniture and now he’s sleeping on a mattress on the floor because the bed was never delivered. I had to tell him that it wasn’t coming. Now I have to look else where. Very bad businessman. Don’t waste your time. If i could leave a Negative star I would.

I was looking for a bunk bed for my two pre teen boys that would stand up to many years of use and I believe this bed will do it. It is solidly built and expertly constructed. It is also a good value compared to other beds out there made from smaller dimensional lumber. You should definitely consider a bed from The Bunkbed Barn.

I am overall pretty satisfied with the product. Very sturdy bed that was custom to my liking and overall is serving us well! Deliver was an option which was great (This was an extra charge but worth it in my opinion) There was some mechanical issues with his vehicle the evening we scheduled for delivery so we rescheduled for the following night. Not a problem, stuff happens and I’m understanding of that. However our delivery time was supposed to be 6 and didn’t even get a call till after 6 that there was another mechanical issue and we would need to reschedule again. Moving on, Another reschedule but we got our bed the next day and all was good! He was apologetic and followed through on getting us our bed in a timely fashion so I appreciate that. He sent a link and asked if I would do a review. He has since messaged me three times in less then a month to go and write a review like I said I would so here I am. I was waiting as I don’t believe in giving a true review without some time with the product. Also had a string of sickness and life disruption so writing a review wasn’t on my priority list. So overall the bed is very good strong construction like promised. My kids love it and hoping to get many years out of this bed!

Living in Cleveland for a quality bunkbed like this we really only had two choices, going with Ray at the Bunkbed Barn or going down to Amish country. Ray and Team were very knowledgeable, was able to answer all my questions over the phone and was great about sharing pictures to help me create our bunkbed. We reviewed all measurements together to make sure everything would fit and the bed was built in two days. The quality of the bed is impeccable and was fairly easy to put together. Any small hiccups I had along the way Ray was very responsive and fixed them immediately. I highly recommend him and like any purchase this size make sure you put the time into measuring and reviewing all aspects of how the bed will fit in the room. Use Ray and his expertise, talk a few times, share pictures, email him measurements and you will be as happy as our family is. Finally if you live in Northern OHIO the trip up and back is a breeze.

This was our first time getting a bed made and we were very confused in what we needed and didnt need. Ray did a great job in helping us understand all of the information on his website, so that we could make the best decision for our money.He said it would take 3 weeks to have the bed ready, unfortunately due to unforeseen issues it was pushed back a week. However it wasnt an issue for us because it allowed us to prep our boys room. The bed was done the following week. I picked it up and started to assemble it a few days later. Ray provided instructions for the bed and it is very easy to assemble.I only had two issues with the bed. 1) the bed wasnt varnished when I got it and 2) some of the holes didnt match up. Ray did go and suggest what to use to finish it and we got it done a few days later.The bed is definitely high quality and I would definitely recommend The Bunkbed Barn. The beds are much better than the more expensive cheaply made stuff online.

Working with Raymond to build my children bunk bed was a breeze, he had some personal issues come up which postponed the bed build but he communicated with me through it all and my bed was ready to pick up a few days later. It was worth the wait. The bed was build to my exact specifications and it was a breezy to assemble. I recommend having a second hand. The bed is very solid and his woodwork was great. My experience with the bunk bed barn (and Ray) has been great! I just picked up my bunk beds yesterday and put them together. They are SOLID and that was my concern when looking for bunk beds. I have 4 children and needed 2. My older children will be on top so wanted to make sure these would be impossible to damage, fall, all of that. I have zero concerns with my older ones on top. I absolutely love these!!! These will be the last beds I buy for my 4 kids. I got the twin over twin stackable. If I need to I can I stack them for separate beds! My daughter LOVES her loft bed! Me and my daughter decided we would build the bed ourselves. In took us just about 90 minutes and thats only because I forgot to charge the power drill. Assembly was fairly easy, we did need my husband initially to balance the other end. Once the base was together it was smooth sailing from there. Outstanding quality bed! All three of my children were hanging off the sides and front and the bed never moved. Cant wait for our next purchase.

I ordered a twin bunk bed from Ray and was very please with the quality and construction! He completed the bed by the day he promised and was great at communicating throughout the process. I provided one piece of feedback regarding dusting off the beds before pickup. He was very receptive and now dusts off every bed. Great to see someone who really cares about customer service!

Had a very disappointing experience with Ray and his bunk bed barn.To sum it all up, he is very very unorganized, takes forever to get back to you, makes a ton of excuses, and didn’t finish the job even though he was paid almost a thousand in full.*After making the initial order, he said it would take up to four weeks. It was via text that I told him exactly what I wanted. Even added a drawer 2 weeks in that he said he would do. Once it reached four weeks I had to call him numerous times to set up a delivery date. He would tell me he was coming and would not show up. He said he would come Monday morning on Aug 24th after speaking to him on the phone on Sunday. He was a no show. Then I called him back and he again said he would come Tuesday morning. Tuesday morning came and he didn’t show up so u called him and he said he would be there in the afternoon but couldn’t come because he had a flat tire and then his wife had a car accident. ( At this point he is the most unlucky man ever or he compulsively lies about things that happen to him). I text him Wednesday to please give me a call because he said he would and still hasn’t. Finally he says he will be there Thursday morning. He shows up at 12:40pm. I come outside and I notice that there are more large boards then I had expected. I had said in my text message order that I did not want bunkie boards however he thought I wanted them because he is all over the place. He was clearly annoyed and then started being extremely short with me. I had also added a drawer and I didn’t realize how much the price was going to be so I questioned it. When I mentioned I didn’t know it would cost so much he looked at me and said “look at this house, You can clearly afford it.” I was so in shock that such a rude comment could come out of someone’s mouth. I told him I lived with my mom and he responded with “well you still live here”. I let it go and didn’t say anything. I paid for my stuff and he left and told me he would send me instructions. I messaged him as soon as he left to give me the name of the paint and send me the inductions. No answer. called him 2 hours later for the instructions and wasn’t answering. Took TWO days of him ignoring me and claiming his mom broke her hip ( again excuses) to get them. When I did finally put it together we realized he didn’t give me all the pieces for the 265 dollar storage drawer I added. Mistakes happen, I let it go. It took him a whole week for him to drop it off. We went to go set it up the other day and realized that the side boards are too short and he didn’t paint it, so you could see the whole side on the bottom. He also made the bottom MDF board too long. I called him and was ignored. So I messaged him to let him know, he only addresses one of my issuess. I kept trying to ask him why in all the pictures of the website had their drawers painted and their boards not sticking out from each other he ignored for 6 hours. I messaged him a question mark and he told me that he’s extremely busy and he has other customers to take care of. Apparently after you pay him, he no longer has time for you. After two days I asked him what is going on with it he told me he would be bringing me the right size boards that are painted and would being a saw to cut the board down. So yesterday he dropped off the painted boards with a small paint can and left. Didn’t let me know he was there and didn’t cut down the oversized mfd board he promised he would and I have to finish painting what he forgot to do. Horrible horrible customer service. I was insulated and lied to multiple times. Do your self a favor and save your self the trouble and just buy a bunk bed from the store.

I’d been looking for a quality bunk bed for a couple years . Not only did I only find mostly cheap products and at high prices, but nothing was exactly what I was looking for to fit the space. I found the bunk bed barn on the Facebook marketplace . The owner was friendly and easy to schedule time with. I chose exactly what I needed, looks and material, and customized the bed even further with extra height and shelves . Bed was completed at my deadline and delivered and assembled. Ray was a pleasure to deal with and talk to during the time that I was deciding to come and see one of his custom bunk beds.As soon as I saw the strength and quality of the bed I had to order one .I got the twin over full with full trundle and could not be happier with it, and my kids absolutely love it !This bed is no joke, believe me this bed is going to to be around longer then we are !Fully assembled the bed is almost unmovable, thats how heavy and sturdy it is !Again, I could not be happier with my decision to buy this bunk bed . Ordered a twin loft to put a small pullout couch below (great for sleep overs!) Very pleased with the results. Extremely sturdy, smooth wood, beautiful stain. Ray was very pleasant to deal with directly via phone/text. Had it within a week!

The beds are a very heavy duty construction and should last forever. Ray was able to customize the beds and add guard rails to the lower bed. I am using them unstacked right now and they are perfect for our boys.

Ray did an awesome job on our custom bunk bed. He made the bed quickly, with quality materials and at a great cost. I highly suggest using him for any bed you need.

He customized 2 beautiful and very sturdy beds for our 2 boys - 1 full bed and 1 twin bed (both with trundles), stained in Sedona red. Exactly the details i wanted. I wish i can post pictures here but they are just gorgeous! Its been 3 months and its holding up very well and received many compliments already... I am so glad my husband found Ray. I ordered two bunk beds from here, full over full. They are beautiful! They were simple to assemble, and much sturdier than any product I found in any furniture showroom. Ray is very professional, and his pride shows in his craft. I recommend his beds to everyone. You will not be disappointed!

Ray just finished a twin full for my family. Before buying I stopped by Rays place. He went over the bed options and answered all my questions. The trundle alinged much better than other trundle designs I looked at. The bed felt more sturdy than other twin full beds I looked at. Ray finished the bed when he said it would be finished. The bed turned out great. I would recommend his beds to anyone.

Top notch customer service! Ray customized a loft for us, and when it didn’t work for our room he helped us find a way to modify it. Will post an updated review after we get the bed and the kiddos sleep on it.

Our two sets of custom beds were ready on-time and exactly as ordered. The beds went together easily, and were much higher quality when compared to bunk beds we’ve purchased from furniture stores in the past. I’d purchase from the Bunkbed Barn in the future without hesitation.

Ray and the bunk bed barn are awesome!! We ordered a queen bunk bed, and it’s great, I mean where else can you get a queen bunk bed!! It’s super strong and sturdy and I would highly recommend the drawer that goes under the beds as well. Overall it was a great experience and the product is as good as you’ll find anywhere and at a great price too!

I had a special order due to having 4 kids from 3 feet to 6 feet tall. Ray was able toIncrease the height of the bottom bunk to accommodate my older kids. The beds turned out great. He even built book shelves for the top bunk. It provides a little privacy and more space to hide their stuff. These beds are made from solid wood and are pretty heavy so make sure you have some help putting them together.

My kids love their new bunk bed! Ray took the time to walk me through my options and showed me some beds he had built. You can’t beat the quality or the price. He even loaded it up in my vehicle.
