I really am not one to complain like this, but the service we received here was awful and without knowing anything else about the dealership seemed a little bit opportunistic. We had damage to the heat shield on a heat shield, on a road trip and took the car to get the part REPLACED at Sorg Nissan. I made the appointment days in advance and explicitly explained that we needed the heat shield replaced before we got back on the road to Massachusetts. I dropped the car off the night before and was told that they would start on it first thing in the morning and should be a couple of hours to get the work done. I called multiple times from like 10-1pm just to check in as I never received a call quoting me on the service or asking any question. On my last call around noon, I was told that the mechanic was out at lunch and would work on it when he got back (poor customer service in my opinion, but to each his own).Anyways, I can deal with all of that. It happens. What really got me was as I was going to pay I was looking on my bill, I didnt see the cost of the new heat shield. I asked the mechanic if they were able to fix it then. He said no and then pointed to the crunched piece of steel on the shop floor. I was like Oh, okay so you had to replace it. He then nonchalantly told me that they actually didnt have the part and so they just took the old one off and then bolted the drive shaft and exhaust back up without putting on a new one (and charged me about $300 in labor). INSANE. If I would not have thoroughly looked through my bill, I would have thought I had a heat shield on my car all this time and could had a very serious accident/issue should all that heat have melted through my gas tank. So of course, I then had to go to ANOTHER mechanic and pay them another $300 to take the exhaust and drive shaft off and install a heat shield.Essentially because of their incompetence and lack of communication (and just lack of care if were being transparent), I have had to pay double the labor costs to have a part uninstalled and then subsequently installed. Its just shady that they never even told me about the part because they knew I would just take it to another shop that actually had the part. ( or I could have taken it to AB and Toms or another trustworthy local mechanic to just have the old heat shield fixed until I got it replaced).
