Well done with diagnostics. A bit pricy and they promised a 50$ discount but never honored it. The work was done properly but it took 5 days.

Great service! I took my car to Metro Motors this morning with a flat. I couldnt wait too long because my toddler had school. They let me know it was a quick fix and moved me to the front of the queue. The price was extremely reasonable and the service was excellent. Id like to thank them for their help this morning!

I have now gone to metro motor multiple times and each time they impress me more with their customer service! From oil changes and beyond, their service is the best I’ve had in the DC area. There was a complication after an oil change and Dante and Metro Motor fixed it free of charge (even after it was determined that the issue wasn’t of metro motors doing, but another shop in the area).Cannot recommend this shop enough. I’ve tried to go other places after moving away from Capitol Hill, but I will make the drive for these guys.

Metro Motor is now my daughters first choice for ANY car repairs or maintenance. She had a tire emergency and AAA was unable to resolve the tire problem. Dontaye drove a couple of blocks to my daughters car and, with a young mechanic-in-training, took care of the issue. They removed the tire, took it back to the shop, and returned with a brand new tire. Though curb-side service is not the norm, they went over and above to help a Mom visiting her daughter return her car to safe, functional condition. 5 stars are not enough to give for the outstanding service! There was a female who was extremely rude couldn’t grab her name, but has a dermal on her face. She was screaming and being extremely obnoxious to another employee name Ceaser who works there. Definitely unprofessional.

I had my air conditioning repaired at this shop on my 2007 clunker. I spent over $200 and it still blows hot air!!! Now I’m driving around sweating like a Redskins Hog!!!!

Mechanic is friendly enough, but will do everything possible to run up the charges. Took my car in for a conventional oil change, but instead was told I needed to replace my filters, my rotors, etc. which totaled nearly $1000. I declined those additional services, but they still charged me for the labor of doing of a full inspection of the vehicle (which I had not asked for). In total, the simple oil change cost $68. Ridiculous.

Highly professional and flawless work on my vehicle (Porsche). No problems with oil changes, tire mounting, or tune up. Porsche is a fickle car. Not just anyone can service it. Never a problem when coming to Metro Motor.Very honest about what they can and cant do. Some places will claim they can do job x just to take your money but not here. They take care of your car and you. Pricing up front and fair. Never a gotcha or surprise.You should check them out. Ask for Dante. Tell him Mr. Black sent you.

These guys are awesome! I’ve been coming here for over 5 years and they really stand behind their work. My car is basic, not fancy, so I just get the regular maintenance and sometimes have to resolve check engine lights before DC inspection. One time the light came back on 2months after they fixed it and they fixed it again for free, even though the reason was because I left the gas cap open 🤦🏻‍♀️. Any other shop would have charged for sure! If you’re looking for a decent place on the Hill to make your “go to” call Metro Motors and ask for Dontaye.

Came through for me when I was trying to find a repair shop asap to identify noises coming from underneath my car; very professional, friendly, and committed. Went above and beyond to find the issue without trying to scam me. Dontaye and Cesar assisted me and did an amazing job.

I stopped to get gas and the parking lot was full of cars that looked like they are junk cars and I observed questionable activity going on in the lot. I dont feel safe stopping at this location any longer!!! Also, the prices are highway robbery!

The guys who work at this Metro Motors are great. They take their time assessing the issues of the car, they provide full transparency on the work and the cost of repairs. Its my go to place for any car issues, i highly recommend them.

My Toyota dealer told me I needed brakes. Decided to take it here for an inspection and oil change and tire rotation. They inspected the brakes and said I’m fine; got the oil change and tire rotation completed quickly and with excellent customer service! Thank you Dontaye!

Metro Motor Penn Ave Exxon is the real deal. I had many problems with my 2011 Chevy Cruze happen within about a 1.5 month period. Needed electrical repairs, fixes to radiator, and other various general repairs. Dontaye and his team are professional, kind, responsive and never did I feel I was being taken advantage of. I am definitely not a car guy by any means so it was great to know I was in good hands and getting a fair price. As long as I am in DC, I will use Metro Motor Penn Ave Exxon for my car needs!

Dontaye was extremely professional and responsive. I dropped the car off in the morning before the shop was open. He called me once he came in. Once the work was complete he reached out and had the paperwork ready to go. Easy as that!

Dontaye and his team have always been helpful any time Ive stopped by with car troubles. During a particularly stressful situation where my car battery died and I needed to go on a cross country trip in two days, Dontaye drove to me, jumped my car and took it back to Metro Motor. And this was all 30 minutes before they closed. They are clearly dedicated to helping you out!

Thought I just had a slow leak and brought my car over to put air in the tire. Turns out there was a screw embedded in it. They immediately spotted it and start taking care of me. Very professional!

Dontaye has been super helpful for me over the past couple months. My old car has had several maintenance issues. During COVID, Ive been driving my wife (who is an essential worker) to and from work every day so she doesnt have to take public transit. This has made it difficult to find a time to leave the car for repairs. On numerous occasions, Dontaye has let me drop off the car after dropping my wife off in the morning and made sure that the car was fixed and ready in time for me to go pick my wife up at the end of the day. The one time he didnt have the car fixed in time for me to pick her up, he paid for my wife to take an Uber home! Definitely recommend!

One of my tires had a hole in it that I didn’t notice for a couple of days until the tire was completely flat. I got anxious mainly because it struck me as just another hefty auto cost. I Google’s tire repair shops and found Metro Motors. I decided to come here because it was closer to where I live so had my car towed to this location. The tire was inspected, quickly diagnosed, and priced (which was shockingly affordable). Less than 45 minutes after dropping my car off for a new tire, I was called back and told my car was ready. These folks were professional, efficient, and friendly - even helping me get out of a tight parking spot once everything finished. I would highly recommend them for their quality work, quick work, and affordability.

Went in for an oil change, and my check engine light was on. Came out with a bill for almost $1,100. Im not saying they were dishonest about the work that needed to be done, but it was really expensive. I called around for quotes for the same work and got estimates that were hundreds of dollars less—especially for the water pump, drive belt, and coolant replacement. Even the spark plug replacement was way more expensive than some other places. Theyre nice guys, but to be honest, I left feeling a little fleeced. Make sure you get quotes from other places before you agree to any work.

Very high to just change spark plugs it cost me $1.100.28 just to do that. In when I called they kept giving me different prices. They never call you back to pick up the car or tell you the work they need because they are making it up as they go. Don’t go to the place.

Very mom-and-pop kind of shop. Which means slightly disorganized but very friendly and very good service. We’ve been bringing our 2004 Honda CRV here for over two years and have never had an issue with any repair they have made. They also make quick turnarounds on getting repairs done. Only issue was one time they ordered the wrong part but they called me immediately to let me know and they gave us a not insignificant discount as a nice “we’re sorry”.

I brought my car in for a quick service. I arrived at 5:28pm, not knowing that they close at 5. They could have easily turned me away, but instead so graciously helped me! I wish I could leave 10 stars for this place. I will be returning to this shop for all of my car needs.

Took my extremely late model ford in for a diagnostic check (great terms if car needs repair then cost is absorbed into repair cost). Repaired car and couple of weeks later my engine light came back on and took it back without any problems. Located the problem and my car has been running like a gem. Also was charged only the cost of the part (so I was told). Im not complaining. They are not cheap. But when you find quality for nothing, let me know. I only give 5 stars if the work is good and I dont have to pay. And we all know that aint happening.

Hit a pothole on 695 at 2 AM with two small children in the car - bent the rim and blew out the tire. AAA happened to tow me here, and thank God. George did everything he could to get my on my way next day - even drove to Baltimore to get the odd sized tire my VW Golf R takes. Great service, professional, courteous.
