Theyve gone downhill. The Hot cinnamon tea I used to get there, they stopped selling it. It was a tea that actually tastes like it smells. The best tea ever. They couldnt tell me who sells it & Im ready to buy a case....really upsetting
Got my book order quickly. Sometimes better prices than Amazon.
Located and centered around Catholic University this book store has a extremely great atmosphere for college students and young adults. It is also an amazing place for professional adults as well. The food they serve here is fresh and the coffee is five stars. I really like that this is a office away from your office style of bookstore. It doesnt have a great book selection at all, but a great hung out spot.
Clean and fast check out . Staffs are friendly too.
Its just a glorified college bookstore.
Way to expensive, for a college bookstore.
It is a bookstore. I mean it is Barnes and Noble. Service is good. They also have a starbucks like cafe but they will not take star bucks gift cards. It is a nice little store though.
I stop in from time to time for breakfast or a quick snack. Always great service, good coffee, pastries and quiche. Much less crowded than the new Starbucks across the street. Its a good place for a meeting, or to relax over a hit or cold beverage.
Small. Its a college bookstore, not your standard Barnes and Noble. Upgraded to a fourth star based on that. Service is fairly good. The staff seems to be knowledgeable.
Very helpful staff. Always clean and organized! They have a decent toy section. Catholic University clothes of course and a mini starbucks inside. Geat place to get some work done.
This review is only in relation to their availability of children’s books. Very limited selection. Even bestsellers like Captain Underpants and other popular juvenile fiction is frequently unavailable. I don’t want to order from amazon or go to an inconvenient Virginia location every time I need a book.
Convinient cafe/store inside a good location with helpful staff. Good books too, cant complain. Great to stop by and get a snack and a drink.
Good selection of Catholic University clothing and items. Good selection of school supplies. Book section is adequate. I like that there are chairs where you can sit and read. This is a much better bookstore than when I was a student at CUA!
Staff was very knowledgeable about each wine and have us great recommendations based off what we were looking for!
Perfect place to study and zone out. Quiet and cozy. I love that they have so many outlets to charge up available too!! Great selection of books as well.
Great place to find peace and read a book. Hopefully this kind of stores dont go away anytime soon.
Okay, this place is great if you are there for coffee and sandwiches, to study, to hang out, to get basic college supplies or get gear with the Catholic University logo on it. The location is also great. However, its book selection is paltry compared to standard Barnes and Nobles. Most of the space is dedicated to the college shop and the coffee shop. Do not expect a full-blown or even medium-blown B&N here.
I arrived at 4:30 it closed at 4.
Well organized. Clean. Friendly staff. Prices...not even close to as good as you can find on Amazon. Not just for textbooks, for (almost) every book!
I love this place! I wish there had been such a bookstore when I attended CUA!
Excellent service. very good customer service. very clean.
Excellent selection of Catholic University clothes...go Womens Cardinal Basketball players!!!
Catholic University did a great job redesigning that area placing restaurants and a world class book store for reading. Outstanding!!
Small B&N location along modern street with Starbucks and Chipotle. Includes small B&N cafe and working areas and lounge chairs. Not too busy Saturday night. Walkable from Brookland Metro.
I truly enjoy this location because of the cleaningness, staff and always being fully stocked. Thank you and continue to do an awesome work!!
Good customer service, all are willing to assist.
This is not a real Barnes and Noble. They do not honor Barnes & Noble coupons. Do not waste your time coming here if you are trying to use a Barnes & Noble in store coupon. They told me flat out they arent actually owned by Barnes & Noble. False advertising. Bait and switch.
Loved it so much glad you guys got some wrestling books for a change
Peaceful, helpful staff and an excellent place to just relax and focus on anything or nothing
I love studying here. You can always find a seating place and a power plug. I love when they give out the samples for customers to try, plus votée abounds.
Been going here for years! Great selection and a calm cafe!
Great assortment of text and other books. Wonderful customer service and lots of space to move around.
Classic large barnes and noble with a coffee shop inside
I just spent 25 min. in the store trying to purchase a gift card. None of the gift cards in the store worked, besides the the Visa card that you have to pay an activation fee for. I called before walking over to the store and the youg man that I spoke with said that they have a variety of gifts card in house, but fail to mention that the gifts cards have not been able to be activated in 2 days. And none of the store mangers did anything about it. I dont think I will be return to this location!
Great shop great staff and a great friendly Atmosphere.
I am here for coffee and studying. Glad that its in the neighborhood. I feel like the book selection is just there to call it a bookstore. Its more for textbooks and to get your caffeine high.
Got something for everyone! Most books you can get cheaper on Amazon!
Good place to find great books you’ll buy on amazon later
Very pleasant staff....bought many of the $1.99 book bags to give as gifts.
Great variety of Catholic University merchandise. Very expensive though.
The wifi is great here and its a Verizon hotspot area too. They dont badger the visitors to leave or buy things. There is a snack area where you can get some quick grub. Its very college student and study friendly. There are tables where you can have a group conversation or study group too.
Nice staff and environment. I wish I had it was larger.
Great ambience and service..good selection of books although its definitely meant for the CUA students..
I love this place because its not noise good food and drinks plenty of good books
Primarily a college bookstore, but worth a look.
Decent selection of books very nice school store for Catholic University
Comfortable atmosphere. Great spot to stop, relax, and get a good read.
Lousy!! Bought $60 Samsung Level U bluetooth headset and came in to return it 3 weeks later when it suddenly stopped working. They have a 2 week, 2 week return policy! And stores wonder why they are being eaten up by Amazon.
OK selection of books with a lot of toys, gifts, and CUA swag. The cafe is blah and the bathroom was dirty and the light was broken. Still, its a store where they sell books, so Im inclined to be forgiving.
WiFi Is great with plenty of charging outlets. Nice study spot. Feels safe too.
Not much books available but love the place. Quite and good place to read a book. Although it shows signs of neglect.
Really nice store to browse and they have a great cafe.
Major con was lack of dressing rooms. Service was adequate - staff was not familiar with directions for the campus of Catholic University.
Great place to go. Very helpful...
CUA merch and books, what else do you need!?!
Great store particularly if youre looking for a good hangout with Wi-Fi. Sells CUA paraphernalia. Next door to Chipotle, Busboys and Poets (Brookland), Starbucks and Catholic University. Metered street parking or garage parking on 7th St.
Small dont go if your looking for a wide selection.
Pretty good general selection of books, considering that its a college campus bookstore rather than a full-fledged B&N. Small but nice childrens section with tables for reading, both adult and kid-height. Huge section of non-book Catholic University gear like logo sweatshirts, mugs, binders, etc.
If youre looking for a coffee shop WITH wifi, Barnes and Noble is one of three options in the Brookland area (The other two are Busboys and Poets and Serendipity; nearby Filter is cool, but theres no wifi). Unlike a commercial Barnes and Noble, this location has a section catering to students (with Catholic University goods, items for our dorm room, etc) and then a small section of books. You can find all your major book and magazine needs, but note its small and theres no travel section (boo!). The cafe itself has strong wifi, lunch service, tons of snacks, and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating (The wifi connection is even strong outside).
It was relaxing and customer service was excellent
More of a college shop than a bookstore but still useful and a nice addition to the area.
Efficient staff! Books are misfiled and I suggest checking the shelves to the right and to the left to make sure you find your book.
Nice, calm place with great coffee, snacks and free wifi. But uncomfortable seats
Nice but needs more selection.
Quiet. Large area to Read. Starbucks on the inside.
Starbucks, bathrooms, clean areas to meet up with friends to charge electronics while meeting in the common area! Cheap atm!
Decent and now the closet one to downtown DC.
This bookstore is more for the college student and not a full BAN.
Good selection of books.. nice atmosphere..
Stopped in to Starbucks, and the staff was friendly and efficient
They gave me a gift card after returning an item.
Nice selection, but small store
Great place Great Customer Service
Cool place where you can feel the exact place where you looking for
Beatiful store
Conveniently located across campus
I really enjoy the store
Good selection of books.
Very helpful staff with great patience :)
As with most Barnes and Nobles, the prices are atrocious....
Books, tea and a place to sit. Hmmmm!
Very nice location
Nice and quiet place
Booky Space!
Over priced
Nice place, great environment
Nice, quiet, and a friendly staff.
Very curtious
Little over price.
