I never once said or acted like a loved the job done to this purse. After receiving the item back with pure disappointment with it being very crooked at the top and uneven I had no choice but to except the work that had been done to it nothing could be changed at that point. When I Initially brought the damaged purse to you guys the owner was demanding and slightly aggressive upon my request. The woman in there was very helpful and was the only reason I went ahead and did business with you all. Never again. And I would never recommend it to anyone else. I’d like to have a refund and you all can keep this purse because it looked better ripped up and broken then how it looks now. There also some sort of oil stains on the back of the purse referenced in the 3rd photo attached.

The experience I had with them was amazing! I mailed in a vintage Louis Vuitton bag that needed a zipper repair, they took care of it within a few days and sent it right back and the zipper they used was high quality! You couldnt even tell it had ever been ripped in the first place, the stitching was great. I already recommended my mother in law to them as she also needs a vintage bag repair that she has been trying to get fixed for years but couldnt find anyone! Will definitely use again if any needs arise. Thank you!

I was about to throw out these boots, but wanted to see if they could be “rehabilitated”. I have a very wide foot and have great difficulty in finding extra wide, moderately attractive footwear. Joe, Tina and their team not only saved this pair but restored them to look like new. very happy feet!

The repairs to my baseball cleats, luggage, and wallet were done expertly, quickly, and thoroughly, and the customer service was tremendous. They did a fabulous restoration job on an 80-year-old alligator bifold coat pocket wallet that belong to my father. It was split and falling apart but they breathed new life into it. This place is AMAZING!!! I brought them 2 pairs of boots and the heels were worn out to the wood part and the front was frayed. 3 days later I receive an email that my boots are ready and they looked brand New! Honestly they deserve more than 5 stars, the service, work and price was all fantastic, I will be dropping off all of my shoes.

Ive visited this place twice and both times I waited around just for staff to tell me that they cant make the repair. The first time I came with a backpack and when it was my turn I was told that my zipper cant be repaired. Meanwhile, a luggage repair shop in NYC was able to fix it quickly in less than 15 minutes.The second time I came in with a piece of Delsey luggage and was told that not only are they not in contact with Delsey, despite being listed on the Delsey website as a Repair Center, and that my luggage can not be repaired again. Id rather not have to travel to NYC to fix, so if anyone knows of a good repair shop in the DC area accessible by Metro please let me know.

Very professional, confident, and amazing customer service. The staff is very knowledgeable and accurate with completion of their jobs. My entire heel broke off one of my favorite pairs of shoes. Not only did they replace the broken heel, but they removed the other heel to match the replacement. My shoes feel brand new, strong, and sturdy.

Not a very friendly neighborhood spot and services not quite what expected.I brought very muddy boots and paid extra for the cleaning. It wasn’t explained in advance that the whole shoe would not be covered for the price. They were returned to me without the laces (I had to request them back and they didn’t lace them back up). The inside edges were still dirty along where the laces go and at the top. They stated they don’t clean the inside of shoes, included the edges, and offered me nothing but a lot of criticism about the mud. They had very harsh tones in their response and it didn’t feel professional. Another customer overheard part of the conversation and commented to me that the woman at the register was quite a character. Too bad the character is so mean spirited. Otherwise, this could be a good spot. They did a good job on the other two shoes.

Expert shoe and luggage repair is the only place in DC that I trust with all my shoe and leather products. I have brought many shoes here over the years as well as bags for a variety of reasons, and they have all been fixed beautifully. The owner is an incredibly skilled man, and very kind. I love that there are still options like this to have things repaired rather than simply throwing things away and buying new. Supporting local labor is so important!

Repair was very high quality, and OK value for money. Customer service never feels very friendly, sometimes borders on aggressive.Looking at all the reviews it seems you get a 15% discount if you leave a positive one, but not if you leave a negative one. Presumably designed to incentivize positive reviews. Let’s see what happens with my balanced review.

I went here after reading all of the positive online reviews, and it was so worth the trek to NW DC! They had friendly customer service, clearly communicated a very fair price for the cost of the work (replacing a suitcase wheel), and emailed me within 48 hours to let me know my bag was ready. Their customer service is a smooth operation. I will be returning!

I had two leather bags with handle issues. One was tricky, for some reason the designer only glued the handles together and they had separated. They needed to be stitched together. It is a really quality bag with good stitching and stitching the handles together after the fact would certainly be tricky. They did an amazing job. Looks like it was done by the designer.The other was a bit more straightforward construction wise, but to match the color & the stitching design was trickier. Cant even tell it was ever repaired.Putting in the phrase Shoe repair in Georgetown to game Google. Yes this shoe repair is a schlep from Georgetown, but much better than the Georgetown shoe repair places I tries.I havent had shoes repaired yet but chatted with a person in line who makes the schlep from Bethesda because it is worth the trip.Also, if you need anything shoe or bag related they have it -- a wall of shoelaces, all kinds of insoles, polishes, leather treatment, etc.

This place is the best! Ive taken multiple things to them to repair, sew, clean, etc. They are always super accommodating and kind. I wouldnt take my luggage and shoes to anyone else in DC. They were even willing to add some patches to a backpack for me when no one else could.

We came on a Saturday afternoon, desperate to get our suitcase unlocked after trying for a long frustrating while all online help we could muster. We finally brought it in and we’re helped immediately. Took about ten minutes to repair and explained what the problem was and how to correct. Sooo relieved and thankful!

This shop is great! Bought a piece of luggage that was 25 years old. Small repair but done very well. Color matched and restored the functionality needed for another 15 years of use! Completed over the Christmas holiday and sooner then expected. Recommended highly!

I have used this shop for several years for both shoe and luggage repair.I have always been 100% satisfied with their repair work.Unlike some shops, they do a lot more than just replace soles and heels.I feel that they give me fair warning when they are not able to make things like new.Their completion time is reasonable although I have never asked for rush service.Their prices do seem a little higher than some other shops.Fair warning, the staff is very matter-of-fact, and I understand that some reviewers find them rude.Also, prepare to stand on line few minutes for service, sometimes outdoors (the foyer is small.)

Dropped my shoes off here for the first time and they did a fabulous job! Boots almost like new, really. Communication wasn’t that great, had to call a couple times to check on status. But staff is really friendly. I like the more community-oriented, family-like feel of the shop.

When I was living in Chevy Chase I had my leather boots repaired by them! They did such a wonderful job... I later moved to Marylandbut I keep coming back to have my boots repaired by them because they do such a great job. I have also had heels repaired by them and have never been disappointed by their work. They are a great small business and Im happy to support them!

My Tory Burch flats developed a hole in their soles and I was about to throw them away. Expert Shoe and Luggage repaired them, putting new and better soles on and they look better than new. Delivered faster than promised. Highly recommend.

I recently took in a pair of custom made leather shoes for repair. While slightly more expensive than I anticipated, the work to replace both soles and heels was of good quality and completed in a timely fashion. Ill be returning to this shop for my future shoe repair needs! Thank you!

Friendly efficient service and great shoe repair/protection work at a fair price (its a worthy investment to protect the soles of higher end work flats and nicer pumps, they last so much longer and arent slippery). Great location, I can drop off on my way to work, and then pick up on the way back (though its not usually on the same day, theyre usually ready in a couple days). Also do work on other leather products, but Ive not done yet, so cant review. Easy parking, I can usually find a spot right in front.

Amazing service! I had no clue this shop even existed but I will definitely be going back. I had a pair of boots that needed some simple heel work done, and I was able to get them fixed right then and there! Prices are great and the staff is extremely friendly. Agree with the prior reviewers, excellent work and fast. I brought in a pair of my favorite fall boots and they were in really bad shape (basically needed a resoling). Not only was this done and done well, the work was completed much faster than I expected. I definitely will be coming back.

Absolutely excellent workmanship and customer service. They replaced the soles on 2 pairs of dress shoes and fixed the zipper on some luggage. Shoes were done in less than a week and they fixed the luggage within an hour. All at very reasonable prices.

I took a Delsey luggage that was fixed but what was more impressive was a pair of cowboy boots that were in terrible shape. They not only needed to be resoled, but the leather needed to be conditioned. They did an AMAZING job, the boots have never looked that good. I was super nervous at first since I had been loyal to a cobbler in Dupont for many, many years. After moving to upper northwest, I needed a new place and this place is the best! Highly highly recommend!

I have had the absolute worst customer service at this establishment. I have been here several times for keys and now shoes and every single time the communication style of the owner and the staff is aggressive, accusatory, and rude. When dropping off the shoes I communicated an issue regarding a disability and was argued with. Both the manager and owner were correcting the term I was using for a part of the shoe in an unprofessional tone. I asked the manager why they were correcting me; they understood what I meant and she insisted that I wasn’t using the right word. The attendent then rolled her eyes and walked away and left the job to the shoemaker who also tried to explain something that was truly unnessecary. I decided not to have those shoes fixed because of the odd encounter and just do the easier job. Then, I never received an email saying that the shoes were ready. I called and left a message and the message was not returned. When I called again to see when I could pick them up I was told I did things wrong, (fine, one can still help someone who doesn’t know how your business works or can’t remember. There is no need to lecture someone) and asked what do you mean and why are you being sassy? (Someone with good customer service never ever get’s offended and asks why are you being sassy. That is customer service 101, especially using the term sassy.) After being asked why I was getting sassy when frankly I was just using professional english and not being understood, I answered by saying that I was receiving poor costumer service the person over the phone basically said, “that’s your problem”. I told them I would NEVER do business there again in a calm manner she responded extremely emotionally with OK, that’s fine with me. She went on an on about how happy I wouldn’t be coming back. Really not worth the stress. And you can see in the store manager’s response how they deal with customers. Very happy to be done with them. Update: the partial redo of the sole was an 1/8 inch off. Going to have to take in to a whole new cobbler to repair. Granted, the shoemaker said it was better to do the whole thing, but I didn’t expect the sole to be the wrong size. 😕

I should have gone there earlierI just bought a new pair of wingtips and shall be going to expert shoe and luggage repair for another pair of heel protectors . Rude, unprofessional, and overpriced. I took my backpack to fix a broken strap, the guy with glasses didnt fix my backpack and he tried to charge me for sewing the gap where the strap get attached to the backpack, without attaching the strap! I politely said sir you didnt attach the strap. He got mad; he says you didnt tell me to attach the strap! Really why do you think I brought a backpack with a broken strap to you? On top of that he charged me $16 for attaching a strap that took him less than 3 minutes. I said dont you think its overpriced? He didnt even answer, he and let the lady complete the transaction. I was talking to the lady who works with him (I was thanking her a for being kind while placing my book in my backpack ), he comes and looks at me and says do you have a problem? I was shocked how rude he was. I think the guy is rude and he has no respect for his customers and his worker. I would rather take my business elsewhere and to deal with such rude, unappreciative man! The picture I attached shows the work he did.

The reason I returned to Expert Luggage yesterday was to have a long time wallet repaired . Two years ago they fixed a large leather bag that I had no hope for. It had been badly damaged and they made to look like new.It is also because of their professionalism and kindness that I chose to write this review.

I brought 2 pairs of shoes that desperately needed repair, and not only did they do a fabulous job (best in my many decades in D.C.) but they did it in less than an hour and did it with a smile. You could not hope for better, more gracious assistance.

The guy was rude and unqualified. I went there to change my Delsey luggages wheels, because they are authorized dealer (I dont know how a great brand like Delsey chose such a terrible place as authorized repair center.. I contacted Delsey to tell them). I came with the warranty and everything - the guy said its a european luggage so he wont do it, and that anyway, the wheels are not under warranty. Ive asked to fix it even without the warranty, Id be willing to pay, I just need to fix my wheels. He said no. Then I went to the other Delsey authorized repair center in Rockville, and they said OK, that it may take more time than usual because of European wheels to order, but that they are going to do it and that of course the wheels were under warranty.Bottom line, AVOID Expert Shoes and Luggage Repair, they dont know what they are talking about, and they will send you away if you come with a little unusual request.
