I own 2 businesses in Virginia and for the longest time it was hard for me to find an embroidery shop I could trust to be reliable and provide good quality stitching and products. Most shops make you feel like a number on the assembly line. Just place your order and leave. I didn’t feel this vibe when I went to Popular embroidery. The owner was not only attentive to my needs but also gave me options and descriptions of certain cloths and stitching that would work best with the look I was going for. It feels good to find a place to do business where you can be reassured that the shop really appreciates you as a customer and does their best to have your experience be great one. From the quality stitching to the prompt time you’re items are made I wish I could give this place 6 stars. Popular embroidery is the only shop for me.

Its’ been years of dealing with the company before it was changed to the one you see today. Professionalism does not exist in this newly formed arena of a once respectful business. I am a black man that cares about the actions & image of our people. It’s bad enough already how we don’t respect or have class when dealing with each other as a race. I’m sadly here pouring my heart out about so unprofessional this business that exist know, is not for you to patronize. If you somehow decide to do business here, pay attention. You will see how things are not quite right with this business.

This is the most unprofessional establishment Ive ever worked with. DO NOT WORK WITH POPULAR EMBROIDERY/ AMERICAN CUSTOM EMBROIDERY.I initially tried to contact them via email in which they ignored my numerous follow up emails so I visited in-store. When in-store it was extremely disorganized but there I was able to place my order with a representative. I waited on my order and never received a call when it was completed, I had to call myself and ask for a status update. I ordered the required minimum for embroidery because I wanted to evaluate the quality and intended on restocking in the future.On arrival to pick up my order the business was not open on time and I had to wait for someone’s arrival.As I prepared to restock I inquired about replacing my previous order, waited weeks for an invoice, and never received one and was told they would no longer fulfill my order. After reviewing my initial invoice I also noticed they over charged me for digitization of my logo, the website says $35; I was charged $50. Since they would not be able to fulfill my order I asked for my embroidery file in which I did receive.I scoured all over the internet looking for my blanks with no luck so I decided to reach out to the manufacturer. The manufacturer told me they do not sell the particular version of my product in the US so I reached back out to Popular Embroidery to inquire about my blanks and the representative was rude and told me I had to take it up with the manufacturer after I expressed what the manufacturer already told me and asked for the link from the website which they purchased from.I am a black business owner and wanted to support another black business but this establishment is unprofessional and uses unjust business practices.

I had a highly specialized single item I needed personalized and these folks were literally the ONLY ones in the city willing to work with me on it. They sent a picture of the finished item to me before pick up and I sadly was not 100% happy with it, and they continued to work with me until we got it exactly right. It is hard to say how much I appreciated their dedication, patience, and flexibility. I would absolutely recommend these guys for your custom needs!

Owner Oscar was rude. Tried to get a quote for some 40 garments and 2 weeks passed and no reply to get the work done... but when I came back the employee was gone and the owner was rude and the prices I got were different. Travel outside of DC to get better work done.

Oscar and the team went above and beyond: I came in to get a golf bag embroidered, thinking the best possible option would be my husband initials. Oscar however took my request to the next level. He mentioned that he has an artist that can turn pretty much anything into art he can embroider: and that is exactly what we did. Rather than using a boring Times New Roman and put three letters on the bag, we ended up putting my husbands artist signature on it. The overall logistics were easy and fast. Oscar was amazing in his communication with me. Payment was handled electronically; I loved it. AND: we got a surprise freebee: a t-shirt with the same logo. Thank you so much for making this happen! Cant wait for Christmas!

Top notch work. This is the third embroiderer in the area that we tried and we will continue working with this one. The turned our order around quickly (4 days for ~30 garments) and the quality of work is great.We had variations of our company logo done according to a style guide we gave them. They nailed it.

One of the Worst customer service experience I encountered with a black own business 😒....sweatsuits was embroidered I mean butchered then the owner was very unbothered and seem like it was all our fault that the stitches were jacked up..blamed they wrong doing on the Spanish worker (who doesnt speak English from what was told...Yes we came to a agreement of reimbursement but even then the thought of doing business with them WILL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN.....

If you are looking for a an embroidery shop I highly recommend American Custom Embroidery & Screen Printing. They are the best in the DMV area. I took a design for them to do in a jean jacket & the outcome was amazing. It was like if they did a copy and paste. Oscar want of the guys that work there told me that I was going to take a week to complete it, but it actually took a day. He contacted me to let me know of the process. They reality have a good customer service and they do a good job for embroidery.

Saji (the owner) was extremely responsive to my many detailed requests involving my order, and was able to turn it around very rapidly. He even kept his shop open so that I could pick everything up before our company retreat. His prices are extremely reasonable, and he will go out of his way to make sure you are happy! I highly recommend this place.

I decided to have a shirt embroidered here. I stopped by during normal business hours and there was no one in the shop and no one answered the phone when I called the number posted on the door. When I stopped by a second time someone assisted me and assured me that I would be able to pick my order up in 3 days. When I came to pick up my order on the agreed date there was no one in the shop and when I called I was told that I would have to wait for 30 min until someone could come back to the shop. When I received my order the work was average for the amount that I paid. This shop also advertises that they screen print, but they only offer embroidery.

Extremely slow, non competitive pricing, & sluggish with communication. Maybe because it’s only one person running this nice shop. I wouldn’t recommend this business until more hands are on deck. Great businesses are ran by great teams! Best of luck!
