I was waiting for a ride outside this establishment. Granted I just got off work from a bakery and looked a bit disheveled. The owner I am assuming came outside and started watching me like a hawk. My ride was late so I decided to ease her tension and buy a cup of way overpriced hot chocolate to warm me up. A small for almost four dollars. Not only did she move the tip cup out of my reach she was rude when I asked for simple creamer in my drink. I had ample amount of money on me and showed her such when I paid. I even had to reach over to where the tip cup was placed to make sure her employees got something. The look I got was daggers to my heart. I would not recommend if you are black, Latino or look a certain way to go anywhere near this establishment. This lady is a definite Karen with a capital “K!”

Friendly staff and nice coffee!

I noticed this establishment deletes reviews they don’t like, so if mine is next I’d be happy to take to social media. The coffee here was good, but the service and overall experience was sincerely disappointing. Myself and a friend stopped here on a long drive hoping to support a local small business. We’re very polite as customers, not the type to make a fuss over bad service or a mistaken order. I was charged for three drinks when I only ordered two, one for myself and a friend. The itemized receipt showed my drink, then a separate charge for the flavor, then my friend’s drink, and a third untitled drink. I thought it was odd to spend $13 on two small coffees but I ignored it, tipped, carried on. While waiting for my drinks I realized after some quick math that two drinks plus flavor charge still didn’t account for the total, the third drink was an anomaly. I pointed it out very nicely to the otherwise indifferent server, I was not rude nor was she, but she insisted there was no extra charge. I explained that as a customer surely I would not know how they charge so would she mind explaining the price breakdown. After having trouble she got backup from another server but they were not able to explain the price either, they both kept insisting that one of my two drinks were flavored so the charge just shows up a few times. I asked why the untitled priced third drink was added to the bill and she said “it wasn’t. I can do it again just to show you.” I remained courteous and smiled and agreed. The server began entering my order as a new order to prove it, but then questioned the other server as to what happened because when done correctly, my order did not total the amount that I paid. They realized it was a mistake, and the first server had intentionally upcharged me - that was why she kept insisting from the start that I didn’t understand when in fact i understood perfectly well and just didn’t want to be rude.I’m giving this place two stars because after all that I did still think the drinks were made well. I only hope the staff learns to extend the same courtesy and service to their customers that appear to be non-white; not only are we paying customers, we’re more likely to spend more money on local establishments in support of the community. Do better.

This is a charming smaller coffee shop. Good atmosphere. Kind employees. Try their iced lattes.

I didn’t catch the names of the girls working, but it was two girls working around noon on April 29th, and they were sooo nice. I asked them to just surprise me with a drink because I couldn’t pick and they made me a great coffee and made sure I didn’t have any allergies or restrictions. Such pleasant atmosphere and you truly won’t find that in many places, especially in Waterbury. Such nice girls!!! Hope the company treats them right ! Great coffee shop

Lovely place, their drinks and snack selections are always top tier. I docked a star, though, for how dine-in is operating at this location.Stopping by for my latte, I saw that every table was full - big groups of families and friends - yet only ONE patron had their mask on out of what looked like 15+ people in the shop. It would be one thing if the space was wider and the tables were properly distanced, but that wasn’t the case. I found myself feeling a little uncomfortable & eager to leave.Like everyone else, I too want life to return to “normal” ASAP. I’d rather not wear these masks forever, but in order to get this pandemic to finally chill, we gotta do whatever it takes: masks on, clean hands, distance. I would like to see management and staff enforce this a little better, especially given how tiny this place is on the inside.

They have some nice baked goods and lots of latte flavors. They only have coffee in giant drip batches. They don’t do any pour overs, French press, or anything of the sort that would actually be fresh to order. The amount of flavor degradation that occurs as coffee sits heated at high temps is not good.You can’t try blends other then what they have in giant batches. Unless you’re willing to buy a whole bag of beans you’ve never had.Terrible practices for a local “coffee shop”. More of a latte shop.

The variety of coffee flavors makes this place fantastic. They even offer at least five sugar free syrups unlike Starbucks who only offers one.

I walked in to get a latte, but unfortunately the espresso machine was down. But the young man that helped me suggested a drink, and I was very pleased with his suggestion. The Past two times I gotten a cappuccino there, well honestly they were not good at all,80% milk/foam and 20% coffee.and apple crumb cake I got was stale, sorry Cheshire coffee Im just being honest .

I enjoy the coffee and food there is good, but they do NOT all wear masks to protect us, owner came in behind counter twice with mask under chin, the young woman at counter had mask under chin and then not at all !!!! I wear my mask to protect them, they could at least wear there mask to protect meI will not be back until pandemic is over

Friendly service and delicious caffeinated beverages... its definitely a place where I treat myself. Also the spinach and cheese croissant is out of this world

This place is right up the street from where I work. It is our coffeehouse of choice. Dunkin and Starbucks just simply cannot compete. The staff is friendly and the coffee and pastries and sandwiches heavenly. I personally recommend the banana caramel latte and a lemon square. Heaven!

Espresso down today. Sad about that as its the reason I came here on a Sunday. Clean and the service is pleasant and fast. Recommend the Christmas blend.

I got the white hot chocolate on my first visit—the taste/experience left an imprint on my taste buds. Quality cafe without the pretentiousness of Starbucks. I usually visit during slower times of day and there is often plenty of seating with ample room for me to bring in a baby stroller and not feel like we are in the way. Ladies room is clean and also large enough to bring the stroller in with me.Staff are friendly and always offer to help me with plates and bringing orders to my table since I am usually juggling my wallet and baby, etc.I recommend the home made granola bars -- they are amazing!

I had a decent experience in the place, it has a well build infrastructure and a calm place, staff were friendly. The Green Tea Latte was OK, not up to Starbucks one, was a tad too sweet though. Couple of things which could be improved are with the number of choices and bagels - more varieties of bagels would be definitely good; also either the bagel or the cream cheese which I got was kept in the refrigerator for few days. Might want to improve on this, it would be a wonderful place to eat if you do the same

Friendly staff, decent quick bites, and solid drinks. I had a macadamia chai latte, which was a new experience but fantastic, Andi tried the coffee which was also great. I do agree with some of the reviews about sweetness - the latte was a tad sweet for my liking, but I can assume thats an easy fix by mentioning it during your order so I wouldnt dock a star based on that.

The coffee is so good and the price is the same as paying at D&D but Cheshire coffee is not watered down. The service is wonderful. Very friendly and personable.

Coffee is great, cakes are delicious and staff is friendly. Its nice and quiet but not silent, there is music playing to make the perfect atmosphere yet is not disturbing you. Few comfortable seats near fireplace are the best spots. Not sure if I came right after a messy people or the stuff was not doing their job, but one seat was cover in crumbs.

I was on a bumble date and the girls gave me an out if it got bad and kept an eye on us and I overheard them say oh shes having a great time how cute. What a wonderful staff with incredible drinks. A must to return to.

Friendly staff, but the drinks are too sweet. Mexican hot cocoa tasted mostly of sugar and cinnamon, & thai tea latte tasted mostly of just sugar. Dont be so afraid of spicy or bitter flavors-- let people add their own sugar!

Coffee and coffee cake were excellent. Efficient service and comfortable seating. Passing through on 1-84 and so glad we stopped.

I went to this place multiple times and they always have good food and drinks.

Service and quality are so good here that this has become a pretty much regular stop for us. And lets be honest here, anything that keeps me from having to walk into a Starbucks is going to be an automatic win!

Good food, cold brew coffee is great, but terrible latte. It tasted like weak watered down coffee with milk.

We just accidentally found this spot while travelling home to New York. The missus was beside herself enjoying her mint latte, and as I told the young barista, it was the best cup of coffee I had had in 10 years since living in Australia. Highly recommend it, and the service was top notch.

Cheshire coffee is always upbeat and great I heard at one point there were coming to southbury I was so happy but then found out something happened and they were not coming. Either way they are consistent and always make great caffeinated drinks. The one in Cheshire is a little hotter when I get my lattes but still great. I hope one day I see them come to southbury can not wait.
