This is the pizza you travel 1000 miles for. Take a secret flight without telling your family youre in town so you can eat your slice in peace. I Dripped oil on my white shirt and Im wearing it as a badge of honor. The cheese is perfect, Sauce is perfect, the dough was kneaded by the angels in heaven and it was all delivered to us by Domenick and Pia. The state of Connecticut should make this restaurant a historical landmark, put it on the national register of historic places. The smell alone is enough to make you salivate. Im always ecstatic when I see Pia and her son. This place will set the bar high for every pizza you will ever have from this point on. Also, somehow these pizza wizards have managed to leap the prices more than reasonable for decades.

This is the best pizza in Waterbury.No debate.They dont deliver,cash only,located on a one way side street and they close at 7pm but the lines are still out the door.Every pizza place around them are doing triple the work and dont see business like they do! Ive been eating this pizza since I was a child in the late 80s and Im in my mid 30s.The recipe has never changed.By the slice or pie it is always consistent in the taste.All under ten dollars.I would be devastated if they closed.Pias hands have been touched by God!!!

Awesome food, literally the best pizza in CT and worth driving from far out of town for. Nice staff as well. I just really wish they were open more. Theyre closed Mondays, and the days theyre open they close 6:30 or 7 PM, right at dinner time when they would be getting a lot of business. So if you work later than that, its hard to ever experience their pizza.

In all the time I have been living in Waterbury I have never once had Dominic and Pias pizza and now I can easily say I regret my choice in many of the other pizza places I have tried 10/10 🤩, the smell, is glorious, the bread, is so soft and fluffy kneaded by angels 😇, the garlic and seasonings are just right, the sauce is amazing, the cheese is perfect- browned and gooey, the mushrooms are so tasty with the meatballs and the touch of love and effort goes very well noticed! The staff of the pizza shop were so friendly and made the whole environment very homey and the prices were also great for this medium full pizza with toppings I paid 16$ I can’t wait to keep coming back and trying all kinds of deliciousness! If you’ve never had this pizza make sure you stop here and have a slice of heaven! 🤤

Wonderful does not say enough about this little Pizza place. PERFECTION! That is the proper word. We turned around on the highway to come here after seeing a 4.8 rating and 1k people rating it.I now understand why you must fold a pizza to eat it properly. We are from Washington state and did not understand the east coast Pizza but now we are true fans. The cheese, sauce and crust work together. What a wonderful treat and the people were honestly warm and welcoming. Made us feel as we were home.Thank you for such a true treat. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Mama Pia is still there working. Its very nice to go into their restaurant & see her. I love the pizza 🍕. Their costs are not high. 2 slices & a drink $5.50. Cant beat that 😃

My friend put me on to this restaurant in 2013. She has been a customer for 25 years. I loved the pizza. This was my second time coming in but it was just as good as my first time. Im not a resident of Waterbury but Im willing to drive for 30 minutes for a pie.

Truly the best pizza in Waterbury. You cant go wrong with any of their pies. Only negatives are that its cash only, the hours are pretty limited, and the parking can be tough if the small lot is full. I think its totally worth it though for this awesome pizza. Domenick and Pia are also some of the sweetest people!

Love this pizza! So glad I read good things about it in CT last year. Weve had their pizza several times and its so good. The sauce tastes so fresh. Dont bother getting mushrooms. They are canned and definitely take away from the pizza. Someone next to us got a pepperoni pie and the owners are very generous as the pizza was completely covered.

The prices here are so darn good. I stopped in and had 2 pepperoni slices and a can of coke for only $4.50. what!? I havent paid that little for that much in a long time. Seems like the prices are from back in Waterburys hay day too, and thats fine by me.When I first saw my slices come out, I was skeptical as it doesnt look like what I am used to in NYC, but the first bite changed all that. The sauce was perfect. They have perfected their sauce (I am sure, decades ago) and it shows. Their family recipe is amazing.

We ordered half sausage half pepperoni, was done in approx. 15 minutes, the place was hopping, and it was at that time I heard a conversation regarding the establishment being a cash only joint. We were on vacation so we didnt have any cash, and had to use their cash machine at a $1.75 fee. It would help if that was posted in the place somewhere and online so that patrons k ow what to expect. The pizza was great, nothing like good quality pizza, and this is it.

I won’t put up a fight, best pizza in CT. However I hope Mgmt reads below - you can’t find a menu online, google directs you to the Facebook page that has very little information. Picking up, it was difficult to watch the crew struggle. During peak hours no one in the kitchen is communicating with each other. You can see everyone in back struggling to keep things together. No one is announcing which pizzas are going in the oven, pies getting taken out are sitting on the counter waiting to be put together with an order. Yelling is good! Please talk to each other! The flow will go by much easier! Thank you. Hope business is good

Is gd pizza and a gd place but takes to long waiting

Domenico & Pia is easily the best pizza to be found in the Greater Waterbury area. This Waterbury staples beloved recipe and fast, friendly service are unparalleled. Their simple menu allows them to concentrate on elevating a few items to perfection, while offering customers am easy decision. Their prices are also amazingly low. All of these qualities make the Domenick & Pia experience feel like stepping back in time to a bygone era of great American nostalgia. This is a small place missed by many of the most renowned critics omitting it from the many best pizza lists it deserves to be on.

Way back in the 1960s there was nothing better than grabbing a slice or two (for 25 cents each) of pizza in the Brown Building while waiting for the bus home. Well the price went up a bit but the pizza is still the best around!!!! And both Dominick and Pia are still there working their magic after all these years. Thin crust, awesome sauce and just the right amount of cheese. Theyve moved down the block and its tough for parking sometimes, but well worth anything to get there.

This pizza place has been serving amazing pizza to downtown Waterbury for as long as I can remember. Everytime I am in the area I have to stop and get a couple of slices. Barstool sports even came to so a review of Dominic and Pias!

Im no longer local and when Im in town I still drop by to place an order.This is one of the few pizza places where I love to each the crust. Tasty sauce, fresh toppings and one of the best pizza doughs in the state.This family owned and operated business has been around for more than 50 years. Cash only. They do have an ATM on the premises. Bathrooms are only for paying customers.Lines for slices can be long. I recommend calling your order in, even if you plan to it at the restaurant.

Been coming here since High School still the best pizza in town A lot of stores but they dont compare. Just a little place to run in and grab a slice or take out a pizza BUT it is so so good. Domenick and Pias has been around a very long time and has EXCELLENT pizza. Must go if your in the area. Take out pizza quick bite to eat you wont be sorry! You will love it 👍

Not very good the pizza was salty n cold. Very disappointed.

Really dont know how they are in business this long, they serve the food on a thin paper plates and No untensils at All to eat. Its hot when you get it and you need to eat it with a knife and fork or you burn the roof of your mouth. Mostly I guess it should be only a take out, Never as eat in!!

Arguably the best cheese pizza in the city! Great food, good authentic people & classic pizzeria. Only thing that shaves 1* away is that theyre TOO classic & still dont accept credit/debit cards, do deliveries, or have late hours. However, the taste of the pizza allows enough reprieve to be somewhat forgiving of that.

Families moved to Waterbury and New Haven from Naples area over a century ago, including mine, but the best pizza in the world is in Waterbury at Domenick and Pia’s. I speak from experience. I’ve been to Pepe’s, Sally’s, Modern, etc. These places might have more hoopla, but for the authentic pizza, Waterbury rules. My only request is don’t let these words go to your head...stay humble at all costs.
