I have been a frequent consigner and shopper of this store for about 2 years now and have not had any poor experiences until recently. Due to short staffing, they are now only accepting consignment on certain days, which is totally understandable given the need for help in most businesses. However, there is no consistency for when they are/are not accepting items. Ive tried looking through their website and Facebook, but again, there are no updated times or days for their consignment schedule. Yesterday, I brought in a black bag after checking both Facebook and their website, each of which did not say anything about not taking items today, just to see a sign that says not taking items today. I left my bag in the car, and just walked up to the counter to ask an employee, whom I believe is also the owner, What is the best way to know when you guys are or are not accepting items? I was expecting just a helpful answer, but instead was told that we are short staffed, you should have known, this has been posted for months that we dont take anything on Mondays, etc. They proceeded to interrupt me and argue that I was wrong. As a customer, I have never felt more offended by an employee for simply asking a question. They made it seem like it was my fault for not knowing and took all of their frustrations out on me. I still am unable to find where they posted on Facebook where they no longer take consignments on Mondays. As someone who lives out of town and has to make a special trip to the store just to be treated like this, its very frustrating. What happened to customer service?

They have name brand clothing. No stains or holes. Reasonable pricing. I can always find something for my girls.

I frequent this store and would give them higher marks if not for one particular irritating thing: They started pushing dates out on an increasing amount of items. Dont get me wrong, its their store they can do what they want so I dont have to agree with their practices but to me thats deceptive. The concept is simple you bring in items, they process them price and date them and put them out for sale. The way its supposed to work is if your item doesnt sell after 60 days the price goes down 50%. After 90 days it goes down 80%. However we have found dates pushed out well into the future as far as the date they were processed. This prevents them from having to mark those items down until much later. For example we have found items dated into Feb that are currently on the floor in Jan. That would mean instead of getting marked down in March they wont go down until April. Since we go frequently enough we notice it much more so now than when we first noticed it months ago. Annoying. That said this is definitely an interesting place to go to find unique items and they do a good job of keeping most of the garbage off the shelves. Beware of their various return policies though they are not exactly customer friendly. Granted, this is a secondhand store so its not going to be the same as a retailer. Its a good place to bring stuff when you dont want to have a garage sale. With their 60% cut if your items do sell at their prices you will be making garage sale money anyway.

I use to love going to Stuff but they have really dropped the ball with customer service. I drive from out of town and often they have a sign they’ve created on the door with whatever rules they are following that week. There is no consistency. Time to find another consignment shop.

An awesome place to get great deals on new and used item. The staff is very helpful and nice. Wide range of products and the employees are always working hard to put out more! Ive never had a bad experience here!!

Consigned over 100 games, the majority collectible and 40-60 years old, all in good vintage condition and complete. Stuff employees deemed 25 of them unsellable before they ever hit the floor, because they were bent up or dated. Clearly someone hasnt been trained to know what vintage, and good condition is.

Robs you of your items and money. They lost my item and basically said they couldnt do anything. no credit to my account or anything. Lady wouldnt even make a note to look for it. Rude! Rude! Rude! Do not shop here!

Have good things there. One problem I have had was with electronic things. I got a couple of them there and when I went to use them they didn’t function properly. A shoe polisher I got there the on, off button didn’t work. Another was an air popper. Otherwise all the other things are very good and the prices are reasonable. Staff is friendly and willing to help with problems. Getting to know many of them.

Stuff is the best consignment store for anything. I recently moved to a different state and it does not have a consignment store as amazing as stuff. Honestly, they have helped me immensely, especially when I have decided to get rid of items and clothes that didnt fit and didnt need anymore. They are fair, they are organized, and they are extremely kind and respectful. I still use Stuff even though I live on the opposite side of the country. Thank you STUFF!

This is a very nice consignment store. I have purchased quite a few pieces of Corningware and food preparation items for my kitchen at great prices compared to Etsy or Ebay. They also have art, clothes, handicap items, vintage, etc. Love to just browse as I never know what I will find!

Must wear a mask (at this time), jewelry corner has the most A/C, otherwise its pretty warm, so make sure your mask is breathable. Lots of new items on shelves! Drop-off policy has changed, but Drop-off desk personnel are extremely helpful and polite.

I like Stuff Ect. They are clean and well organized. They had a lot of the things I was looking to purchase. The store is clean and well maintained. But some prices are a bit high I think. Staff is kind and courteous but a bit slow at times.

Not a bad place. I go for the mark downs. some things are priced good for used, and some things are pretty much priced as new. I pull up ebay or Amazon before buying items to check price compared to new or average used price.

When scheduling a drop off appointment it would be really nice to know all of the “rules” that are completely opposite of what is posted on the stuff etc website.

I am convinced I will never buy new again. And why would I have to when places like Stuff Etc exist. Seriously a ton of inventory looks like it has never been used. Take your time here you can find such amazing pieces. Sometimes even unused. And you can even sell your stuff it is simple.

I originally started Shopping at Stuff in Iowa City in 1995. Im so happy to see the franchises grow and am happy to shop and consign in the Waterloo location. Whether its named brand clothing or vintage housewares Im always on the hunt rarely leave empty handed.

Great place to get gently used stuff. Keep an eye out for all the frequent deals going on.

A sign at the service desk said 10% off on ALL clearance items . So we purchased MANY clearance items. Got home and found that I didnt get the extra 10%. Went back, showed them the sign and they wouldnt do anything about it. It should have said all Clearance clothing. I was NOT happy!

A good option for getting rid of nicer items or finding more in-style clothes, accessories, housewares, furniture and more, in better condition than places like Goodwill. You get a small portion of the sale money back from the store if your item is sold.

So i brought my 24 hr black bag in with new clothes an used clothing made sure I washed and dried them. stuffed my 24 hr black bag full an brought it in. I never received a email with my items listed an prices. I called to check to see if it was done they said yes, so I go pick up my bag an they didnt even go through it! i showed one of the employees and she said she could put a tag on the item an if I would like to try again I could bring my stuff back in. Why in the heck would I try again when it took alot of time to go through an bring in nice stuff! So I return to my car and read the slip they tape on my 24 hr black bag it said they had called me an with 2 different dates but I had to call to check on my stuff! Not to mention that Ive had jewelry stolen thats why I only bring in clothing my black bag has been stolen twice thats why they put the bags behind the counter 🤔 just horrible

Stuff reminds me of a cleaner more organized Goodwill store. Then again, I do occasionally, enjoy shopping at Goodwill.

Watch your receipts. Everytime I go in here and buy clearance items, nothing rings up correctly. You cannot see over the register to make sure items are ringing up at the correct price and every time without fail I am over charged on items. When you ask if they are ringing up at the correct clearance the cashiers will say oh yes it is but then when you get your total it is far higher. Do your math before going to the register and always question the price if youre unsure.They need to allow you to see your items as they are ringing up.Im done shopping here.

Stuff Etc. is a consignment store: I am a regular customer. Over the past three years, I did a lot of decluttering in order to move into a condo and they were wonderful to work with. Staff members are friendly and helpful: merchandise is nicely displayed and organized, and I have found some treasures for my home as well as clothes for the grandchildren. They now have a separate store for furniture. They are located next to Menards in Waterloo.

This is a nice consignment store. The items are clean. Quite a bit of the items seem to be over priced. I did find dishware/kitchen items that were broken or chipped that were priced higher than they should have. Really they should of not been on the floor to sell. Theres a large area of clearance items, that were over priced even after the discount. If you get into clothes, they have a lot to pick from. They also are on the high price side. The prices are getting out of control.

Went to the store for the first time and though im not the targeted demographic(im a guy) I was still able to find cheap but quality items. It does remind me of Goodwill but much nicer, the next day while at work(retail) I did give my customers good reviews about this store.

Brought in original screen prints from the 1930s and they were tossed aside as being outdated? Ill shop here but only because your staff has no clue how to price things but I will no longer consign. Whomever owns the Waterloo store I hope you know how much money your loosing not having your staff educated on antiques.

This was the most disorganized stuff Ive been to. Not much to choose from and just a plain mess. Also nobody wants to dig through clearance items in a shopping cart heaped together.

I found the shoes I was looking for and they were very affordable. Love Stuff!

A lot of great stuff!Some of it was overpriced, but, there are definitely some treasures wort digging for.

They have a decent selection, really liked a piece they had but the man working there was absolutely no help, by never acknowledging us. The prices are a little steep for things that are used.
