This is my go to. Great communication, solid service across a myriad of vehicles. I take my Ford F-150 and my Winnebago View RV for routine maintenance and oil changes. These guys are great!

They want $124 to smog a 1993 civic. What a joke got it for 40 at the chevy dealership. Cant support small business if they are charging that much. Never coming back if smog is that much, dont even want to know what there labor is.

This is a GREAT place for smog checks. A couple friends & I had good experiences here. Have not had major mechanical work done here. Albert says they are good!

This place ripped me off continuously and will take as much money from you as they possibly can, as it’s been stated before - Don’t trust this shop. Not very professional & don’t have much experience since they couldn’t diagnose my car. They even tried charging me for a part without my consent, when I could’ve bought the part myself & installed it myself..Don’t take your car here for a diagnostic check, they will just siphon your money 💰

Would not recommend. Took my car for some maintenance and due to their negligence, my car was stolen under their watch. They put me through a whole situation I would not wish upon anyone 😭.*Save your time and money and go somewhere else.*

My husband and I have taken both of our cars to Mac Auto Repair. We had to wait for an appointment with another local business for 2 weeks for an oil change. Macs got us in the same day. I needed my rear brakes looked at because I heard them making a lot of noise. Two other repair shops over the past six months said they were fine and had wear available. Macs found a crack in the pads which averted a dangerous problem later. I thought I may have had a problem with my front axle. The owner took the time to drive in the car with me to evaluate the issue. Very personal and professional. I am happy over all and would recommend their services to all.

Don’t trust these people. This place is a joke. I got my clutch and flywheel replaces a few months ago. The first thing I noticed when I got my car back was that the clutch felt light and cheap and it squealed in 2nd gear. Two days later the clutch stopped working in traffic on the freeway. I wasn’t even able to push it off the road because the wheels locked up. I had it towed back to Mac auto because of the warranty. They called the next day and said there was nothing wrong with it and it magically fixed itself. Two months later the clutch went out again and I had it towed back because the warranty. They said it would take 3 days and because I had so many problems in such a short amount of time they told me to get a rental and they would reimburse me. So I rented a car for 3 days, and in order to rent the car I had to pay the full $154 up front which was non refundable. They called me the next day demanding that I pick my car up in 15 minutes. It is impossible to get from Santa Cruz to Watsonville at 5pm in 15 minutes because of traffic, even on the weekend. I got there as soon as I could and when I drove away, the clutch had not been adjusted right and is very difficult to shift. The check engine light was on (which hasn’t been on before), the alignment was so off that it is unsafe to drive, and the belt I just had replaced at a reliable mechanic was squealing. I called and told them all the issues and they said to come in the next day and they’d make it all right. So I drove my unsafe car from Santa Cruz to Watsonville to be told that they would not adjust the clutch, or fix any of the other problems they created. They said it was the way I drive that caused the problems which is highly unbelievable and they only reimbursed me for one day of the rental car because they “fixed” it two days sooner than they quoted, despite the rental receipt clearly stating that the $154 for 3 days was non refundable. Never take your car here for anything. All their 5 star yelp reviews must be from employees or friends. They are not honest, not trustworthy and not good mechanics. They caused hundreds of dollars of problems to a car that was reliable and safe until they put their hands on it. When I asked what they could do for me, they told me to call the better business bureau. Not to mention their customer service is non existent. They say one thing and then do nothing, and are extremely rude. I can’t express my dissatisfaction with Max Auto, and would never recommend them to anyone. It’s a shame I can’t give them a zero star rating.

Brought a motor to the shop to have a snapped bolt drilled out with loctite. The mechanics here at Mac auto removed the snapped bolt from the head and had it rethreaded within 30 min. Awesome place. I would recommend.

Super expensive, they charge me $100 for diagnostic just to told me that the alternator is bad and have to be replaced, plus $329 gor replace the alternator for labor and parts total... $429.58 just for replace my alternatorThis guys are crazy....
