First time visiting this range today and I had a BLAST! The staff is knowledgeable and helpful with explaining the different types of firearms and training classes offered and will answer any questions you may have. Inside the indoor range itself it was very nice and clean, you get your own lane and if you run out of ammo you can buy more up front. Well worth the $20 entry fee. Will continue practicing here.

My entire family has taken the concealed carry permit class here at Mountain Range and we all agree that the instruction was excellent! My son and I took the class last Saturday and my wife had taken her class with her sister several months ago. The owner, Julius, and Craig, instructor extraordinaire, both taught the class and they made that 8 hour class fly by. It was actually as informative as it was entertaining.With regards to the gun range, its well worth the drive from 45 minutes away for us. I know they have a policy regarding no outside targets, but at $1.00 a pop, its really not a big deal at all. I have found their prices on targets and ammo to be right in line with other ranges that are far less nice. With regards to their ventilation, i was impressed with the system they have. While I dont know much about the operation of the system, I know Ive never seen one like it in any other range.With regards to the staff, I havent found better, friendlier, more professional staff. They are all knowledgeable and willing to help and offer advice. They are always checking on safety of all the shooters on the lanes. I cant recommend this place highly enough!

I spent over $800 here today. The owner was awesome. Hes a cool vet, had some awesome stories. Very patient with my kids. I had to bring both of them in. one has ADHD. There were two guys working. They were very patient with my kids. Gave me good info on the selection of guns they had, and helped my wife steer toward a pistol that was to her Comfort level. All around great guys. No problems whatsoever here. Ill be coming back to take their concealed carry classes soon. Super cool guys. Great selection. An easy, clean, comfortable place to buy a firearm. Ill be back for more guns and accessories.

After reading many reviews I thought this may be the place for me, a newcomer. However every time I needed assistance I had to leave my weapon in the range and go into the shop looking for a person. I won’t be back.

Some of the nicest people Ive encountered in our short gun owning time. Have a shotgun that had jammed and i couldnt clear it. They cleared in minutes what i had been working on for hours. Once on range my wife had never shot a gun in her entire life. The gentleman on the range helped her with the proper way to hold it. The next shot was a bullseye! We will keep coming back to Mountain Range.

I travel all over the United States training Law Enforcement, school security, church security teams and public. This facility has to be ranked in the Top five of the best indoor ranges with fantastic atmosphere, great equipment, knowledgeable and friendly staff. I live in Sylva about 45 minutes from this range. The store and range are always clean and well ventilated.Every time I have visited to the range, they have always been polite, friendly and very helpful when needed. I go there no a regular basis now, and will continue to do so.

They were amazing, I have never shot a gun and they walked me through step by step.. if you are a first timer this is the place.

They make you buy targets from them even though the website says you can bring your own. Other than that, a very decent place to shoot.

Great place to shoot. The owner was happy to help bore sight my AR 15 and did not charge for his assistance. They have gun rest to help in the sight in process at no charge. Prices on guns and ammo are reasonable. The owner and staff are very knowledgeable on the products they sale. Over all great experience.

Can’t say enough about our overwhelmingly positive experience. 4 out of 5 in our group had never shot a gun before. Two dedicated experts/employees stayed with our group the entire time, showing us the basics and helping us load guns, etc. highly recommend this place.

The staff here is very professional i have purchased multiple handguns here and the prices are always right and competitive, the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable and will help you find whats right for you! On a shoestring budget? No problem they have layaway as well as budget minded firearms as well and the quality of there used selection is stellar bought a used .38 special revolver made in 1996 that was darn near brand new in quality! They strive for excellence in everything they do here and you will not be disappointed to do business here with these fellas!

What an outstanding bunch of guys. I don’t live in N.C. but they build an awesome AR rifle, over the phone, as a gift for my father. Not being there, I went with their suggestion for upper, lower, sights, scope and case, and my father loves the rifle. I only wish I lived there, so I could shop for my firearms in their shop. Next time I get to N.C. I will stop by and thank them in person.

A five star experience, five star service and super friendly.We went to shoot some guns whilst on holiday, and the gents in the range were really accommodating and really helpful. They showed us the ropes and made us feel very welcome.We would thoroughly recommend the Mountain Range.

It is a great place to go shoot if you are a first time gun owner or if you have owned for years and want to stay in practice. The owner and staff have been very helpful to me.

Today I drove over to Waynesville specifically to check out Mountain Range and enjoy some target shooting. When I pulled in the parking lot, I was initially impressed with the building itself. On entering, I found the facility to be clean, well lit, and staffed with friendly and helpful people. Upon entering the range itself, I was impressed even more. The range and shooting stalls were clean, well lit, and the ventilation was top notch. The target trolleys worked well and quickly, and had flags that denoted 3, 5,7,15, and 25 yards. The range is divided into two areas, with one area devoted to pistols and the other part for rifles. So to cap it off, I found the range to be a great place to shoot indoors and the fee of $20 covers all day if you wish.

My husband and I visited the facility for the first time and are very impressed. Great staff and the owner has done a great job with the shooting range and the retail part of the building. They were very helpful and we look forward to a return visit.

Amazing range. Very well ventilated and great lighting. I traveled all the way from Franklin to shoot and only had 1 gripe. They do not allow you to shoot full size targets. I just purchased a bunch and couldnt use them. I would deff not mind the traveling back and fourth if this policy were to change. Great place otherwise. But the target reason is the only reason for not giving a full 5 stars

Came here as someone who has never shot before and had a wonderful experience, I wanted to shoot an 1866 Winchester but it wasnt in stock in the store. The owner went all the way home to get his own Winchester from home to let us shoot it. A great place to go for beginners, theyll make you feel welcome and comfortable.

The best range I’ve ever been too. Truely a world class range. Can not recommend enough. Staff and owner were on site and extremely knowledgeable and helpful as well. Range is extremely well built every component was well thought out. We’ve been to ranges up and down the east coast including military ranges and this one is by far the best. Will be telling all my friends!

Very friendly and helpful staff, and the place is always immaculately clean. They have a pretty good selection of firearms and shooting related accessories. They gave me a great deal on a trade-in and their ammo prices are better than online. They also have more stuff for female shooters than Ive seen elsewhere.

We have been coming here for years, staff is usually great. Only con we have ever had in the past is it gets smokey fast and the venting isnt as good as other ranges further away. Sadly after coming up here a few times a month we wont be making any more trips out this way due to the new policy regarding targets. There is no reason for having to use their way over priced targets (perhaps they should focus on other customer programs to generate more business). My husband has always brought a group of friends and new shooters here for a safe environment and practice. Its about 45min away. Some of the people we have taken up in the past have purchased their first guns from here. If you are shooting to improve skills and going for accuracy unless you want to buy their targets I see no reason to come here especially for the drive. I highly suggest others in the area such as Bear Arms in Brevard / Cold Mountain Public range and Foothills shooting complex. Wish Mountain Range the best of luck in business because they have lost ours.

Instructor needs to check the chaimber when handling weapons. Good for new learners, joke for experienced people.

Very nice people. Allow me to shoot my Hawken and Ruger Old Army, as long as I am shooting Triple Se7en! Your milage may vary - most indoor shooting ranges do not allow muzzle loaders.One of the nicest and well lit ranges around.Only quibble I have is that he fines you $75 for shooting above a taped line on the target... Do not understand why...

Just bought membership for my wife and I. We had been driving from Asheville/Weaverville area with our son to shoot there for awhile and thought time to buy membership. Staff there great and remember us when we come in. Very clean and cant beat the ventilation system. We used to go to place in Arden but could not breath when you came out and blew black residue for a day after so its worth the drive foe us. Plus the place in Arden would not let me shoot my DP12 shoot gun but the folks at Mountain Range does. So if from Asheville area worth the drive.
