Came in to fix frontal damage after an accident. My initial review was glowing, as everything looked great from the outside, but the car has steadily been having more and more issues and feels wrong when driving, so I finally checked everything in the engine bay and discovered this massive issue. I own a subaru and the airbox is two pieces. One piece flew out in the accident and the other was cracked. They never replaced either nor did they even bolt the airbox back in so it was getting dust, debris, and water directly into the engine. No idea how bad the damage is yet, but they also failed to install the fog light cover correctly, left out one of the plastic engine bay curtains, and didnt fix a latch in the trunk until I pointed it out twice.Edit: As of 4/20/2021 all issues have been handled excellently by Schaefer, and the customer service in getting this fixed has been excellent. No long term damage was caused to my knowledge and the car drives like new now!

Good overall experience. I was kept informed throughout the repair process. Issues and/or delays were communicated promptly and professionally. The interior of the vehicle needed more cleaning attention, and to Schaefers credit they offered to do it. I think they really care about their clients experience and interactions with them.

These folks are great! The customer service is phenomenal! I mostly spoke with Jackie in the front office who was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. They finished my repairs in exactly the time quoted. The work performed is superb. I recommend this establishment wholeheartedly!

I have had the opportunity to work with Schaeffer autobody two separate times.Each experience was excellent. The staff treated me like I was the only customer whether it was on the phone or in person or leaving a voicemail for me.I received an update call to let me know where my project stoodAnd a call to let me know that the work was completed.Upon my last pick up, the staff offered to except the rental car and return it for me so that I wouldn’t have to make an extra trip. Now that is service!

Schaefer was able to install a new catalytic converter on my car after mine was stolen. Service was faster than anticipated and the staff was professional and empathetic. They came highly recommended by my insurance company, and I see why!

Staff communicated clearly, estimate was given as well as an approximate completion date. Repairs were completed before that date.

They were timely and would never know the car had been hit by debris on the highway.

Dropped my car off on Monday was told it would take about a week to repair and they were finished in two days. Made it incredibly easy to get a rental car and have it delivered to the shop and able to leave the rental there upon pick of my car. Very convenient!

Great customer service and work was done earlier than expected, and still looks amazing. Price did go up due to a broken part that wasn’t able to be inspected during a quote, but they were able to justify it and explain why it needed to be replaced. Would recommend.

The actual repair was very minor this time, and was done quickly and professionally. However, nobody except for myself was wearing a mask, and that made me very uncomfortable. Since I was only there a matter of minutes, I simply kept my distance, but staff dealing with the public in an indoor space should wear masks. My mask protects them, but they are thoughtless enough to not care about protecting me.

So professional and NOT judgmental:). My kid had an issue pulling out the driveway- permit driver- oops! They were so kind and reasonable!!! Did a fantastic job for a reasonable price! High quality!

I have been a Shaefer customer for quite a few years until my most recent experience. When I took my vehicle to the webster groves location for some minor work, they did a very poor job with the repair for the price I paid. They might be good for older cars, but do not take your new cars there and expect much. You are better off choosing a different location for your newer vehicles.

Can’t talk to the people at the actual place that does the work. Always have to call a call center. I SPECIFICALLY asked them to check the tire in the area that got damaged. I get the car back and the low pressure signal is still on in the car and the pressure is even lower than when I left it. Now I have to figure out how to get it in again for them to check again. It took a month to get the car in for repair, now it’s not even correct.Used to be good in the past, however they are definitely too big to give any kind of good and personalized service anymore.

Everything about my experience at Schaefer was excellent—the customer service, the efficiency, and of course the bodywork on my car. They also facilitated the car rental process and made it seamless. I highly recommend this shop to anyone!

The paint job and fitment look great, however there’s a plastic film overlay that goes over a certain area and it has some bubbles in it. Also when renting a car, if you don’t schedule something with Enterprise ahead of time, they don’t give you an option to choose which class of car you want. They just stick you in whatever they have on their lot, so I ended up paying much more for my rental car than I anticipated.Overall though, they were nice to work with and did quality work.

Spoke with the people via text and phone about having my car get an estimate. Asked if I could leave it over night and they said yes. I put the keys in the drop box and it wasnt checked, so we had to go out and take some photos in the dark. If you drop your keys off, I would just recommend giving them a call the next day to make sure they check the drop box.

I’ve used them twice now. They make repairs so easy. They’re very transparent and speedy! Couldn’t be more pleased!

I went to Schaefer Autobody center in Webster Groves for repair of rear bumper after my car was rear ended. It was a quick process to get an estimate for the repair, but it did take a little while to get the appt for the actual repair. The repair was completed quickly and they kept me informed throughout the whole process. They did a wonderful job and you cannot tell there was ever an accident. I dropped off my vehicle on December 18th, 2019. I picked it up on January 6th, 2020. Even with the holidays, this seemed like an extraordinary amount of time to complete the repairs.The workmanship is exceptional and the car was spotless upon pickup. The damage is undetectable. Thanks for all that you do but I would hope that work could be completed more quickly in the future.

Great experience with my car repairs at Schafer. They gave me regular updates and my car was finished earlier than expected. The enterprise rental pickup and drop off onsite is really nice as well.

Not good. They used subpar parts, paint barely lasted 1 year, and they painted the bumper a green gray instead of matching the gray to the rest of the car. The guys in the office were nice enough, but nice doesnt make up for horrible work. I have worked with two other autobody shops that were better and the car came back one color. Would not recommend and will not go back.
