BEWARE ONLINE SHOPPERS!Not only is there a $7.99 per delivery or $100/yearly subscription and a requested tip for your shopper. They inflate the online prices compared to the same products in store. It will significantly increase the price of your groceries if you order online. They have a policy of not handing out the store receipt to clients when groceries are delivered to disguise the inflated prices.I guess you have to choose if your money or time is more valuable. It’s fishy business...
I had heard bad things, but experienced none. Sunday about noon, there were about 50 people in the store. The store is bright and airy. The new southern exposure windows are great. As with many other supermarkets, the choices are limited to one or two of each item. Many non-major brands stocked. Yes, there were some shelves that were empty - BUT there were people restocking them.
I always find something new that I never tried before. Very pocket friendly prices. Good quality products.Assortment of Belgium chocolates and snacks
Great prices and quality meats, seafood and other. But they dont water the plants and so they die and look awful. Always short on cashiers - why?
A great store with lots of organic offerings. Cannot beat the prices. It is always clean and well-organized.
Very low prices, clean, airy, and well lit store.
The pricing cannot be beat. BUT,....Dont expect to get in and out of there quickly however. Last week I went in during my work lunch break and there was 1 person at checkout and 12 people in line, running back to the end of the food isle!I watched that cashier look and carefully count the people in the line before pushing a button to call someone to open a different register. That means she was doing her job and following her training, so management, you folks earned this review and lost my business whenever I dont have 1/2 an hour to wait in a checkout line...which is most of the time.
I really miss when this was PathMark or ACME. Lidl has the necessities, but not everything. This used to be a one stop shop for me. I find myself going across town to ShopRite. The fresh produce is a small selection (for example no fresh cilantro, small peppers, parsley) and they need more non dairy products. I cook daily and if I am making certain recipes they do not always carry the products I need. I will say the place is kept clean and the people that work there are really nice. I gave them 3 stars for lack of products, never really having carts available and the long lines!
Pros:Goods are cheap. Really cheap. Cheaper than WalMart on-sale cheap. This location took over the old ACME location, and is very convenient.Cons:I havent had one trip where they were not out of stock for something on my shopping list, assuming they carry it at all.The checkout lines are unacceptable. The photo below shows what it looks like on a Thursday afternoon.
Not as hot as you might expect. The place was well organized overall but the selection is very limited. Prices are good, just as good but not better than Aldi for example. If you compare, many products look just the same as Aldis brand (most likely made for the same manufacturer) bit a couple of pennies more expensive. They both dont give you bags but you dont need a quarter here to use a shopping cart. In short, worth to go here as much as going to Aldi.
Love the store. However they tend to do changes that are somewhat unnecessary or random. For example they used to have smaller carts and all of a sudden replaced them for the huge ones. They also tend to get really good products and then completely and suddenly get rid of them. I had this really good coffee shots and I was super excited to get them again and I have never seen them since. They also got rid of the the protein and then said they didnt have any plans to bring it back.
Not a bad store. The check out can be a major Joke at times! (thats how we keep our prices low by under staffing)It just keeps your labor cost looking good. Tonight at 9:45pm they are closed when they close at 10pm. Oh well off to ShopRite they close at midnight and let you in at 11:50...😏
I like LIDL very much they have a different array of products, a lots of organic items, I always look at their miscellaneous isles, they have a different variety of tools sets and every day items for a very descent price range. I just wish they could have the self check put open, it seems that they dont have enough personel yet so the lines are always packed. Other than that good store .
Easily the worst supermarket I’ve ever been to. They offer almost nothing name brand, just their horrible Lidl brand items. They have almost nothing that you’re looking for, the lines go all the way down the aisle because they refuse to open more than 2 registers. I’d give 0 stars if I could. The Pathmark and the ACME that were previously here were so much better. Terrible place, would not recommend to anybody.
This place is good .good prices...i only have two issues..lines are long.they need more employees. And i recommend if u buy fruit inspect them good.i purchased some raspberries and they had mold...i returned them..but the ones i got again didnt look too good..but i could not recieve my money back.so i got another batch of raspberries 😒
Every time I come here there is one long line for the register. Nobody opens up. When they open up its one line for the two registers. They dont have this written anywhere. You just have to assume by the long line. Another issue they dont have much stock. Furthermore, no bags unless you buy them. Id rather go to Target or many other supermarkets that dont do this.
Great store and low prices which saves me alot
I was able too find my favorite products and new ones...great.
The bakery is phenomenal and we come here just for it.
Lines at registers are absolutely ridiculous. Its the ACME all over again... no cashiers ever. If you dont want to pay people to ring up customers then put in self-checkouts so we can do it ourselves!!! Its that simple. Other Lidls have self-checkouts why not this one?
I was very excited when Lidl open up after Acme closed, but I am somewhat disappointed because this supermarket does that have the items I am accustomed to buying that I often found at Acme or Pathmark. However, it has some positive things. It is very big, has an open floor plan, modern and bright. They do have unique items that I have seen in places such as Walmart or Target.
Nice looking space, and decent selection. Would benefit from better signage, especially as to what line to stand in for check out. An Express lane would also be appreciated.
Good sale prices unfortunately if items are not available there are no rain checks😕
Very organized and clean. I am going to apply to work. I like the environment
There is a reason for 3 stars. have been a frequent shopper here. You get most of the daily groceries and other stuff too. Their vegetables section is very small so you have very few selected vegetables and fruits. However, have noticed quite few times that they have price discrepancies now and then, they will show different price but then your bill will say something else. It has been small (2-3 cents) which I have just ignored, of course. However it should NOT happen in a large, very well knownSupermarket. Other than that its a standard Grocery supermarket but you may not find a lot of items as it seems they are still trying to figure out what to keep in the store.
I really do like this place very low prices of food products however not much of some stuff in stock or dont sell but hey you get what you pay for and its good enough for me..Oh and they need more cashiers and lane and isle help on the floor.
Early opening hour is this stores somewhat redeeming feature. Strong bad chemical odor at entrance, depressing lighting and music throughout. Floor can be quite dirty with no one cleaning up. The prices posted are not what youll be charged and the cashier is unperturbed by the discrepancy. Sometimes youre charged for extra items not in your cart. Lastly, reminders posted throughout store remind shoppers not to steal.
I love this store. Prices are good, selection is great I just wish they had more registers open the lines get very long.
Very nice, they are very similar to Aldis but i like Lidi better they have a small section where they make their own bread. Their meat are very good, also the organic meats are very good for the price .
Great selection of food, everything look fresh and fully stocked. My biggest complaint is the check out. The line wrapped all the way to the back of the store and only two registers were open - oh, and no self check out.! Horrible!!! After attempting to check out, I left - no social distancing either.
Disappointing. Not much in the way of produce and layout is weird and confusing. They had rows and rows of snacks but hardly any cereal? Barely any gluten free items - two types of pasta, pretzels, and white bread. Gross.Such a huge problem with lower priced stores. I don’t want to have to go to Whole Foods because I’m on a budget too! In terms of vegan items I found almond and soy milk and coffee creamer, and vegan shredded and sliced cheese. Only two kinds. Overall the store was well lit so less depressing than Aldi but nothing like the stores in Europe. Also the lines are even longer than Aldi! Sheesh.
Always find what I need with unbeatable prices and great quality.
I was excited to visit LIDL when it first opened and was hoping it will be my designated supermarket, but it doesn’t offer enough brand selections and organic choices. I was pretty disappointed. Otherwise, if you want very basic stuff and perhaps fresh bakery- it’s the place to be. It’s clean and the mini shopping carts are super cute- my toddler loves it.I’ll be sticking to Acme, Whole Foods and Food Bazaar.
Very clean and good prices, to bad we dont have one in New York City
They barely got anything but I got for little things. This is not no ShopRite your not food shopping in this place and If you are tuh good luck on whatever you find prices are great though
Only con need more food choices...and please consider watermelons with black seeds...
Great place. Just needs more checkout associates
This new market is an outpost of the famed, German market chain known for low prices for qualitv supermarket goods (& more). Food products are pretty fresh, and theres even a good selection of organic food products. Service is good, albeit checkout can be a little slow when customers suddenly increase. Theres a little bit of everything here.... Including home improvement, clothing, toys, etc.
Great place! The app offers discounts
Good selection of products .
Love Lidl! Love their prices and food quality, you can’t go wrong with this place. Super clean and always well stocked. Easy parking and very nice cashiers.
German taste in town. I have been go Lidl in Germany. There are more variety in stores in Germany. Still it is a place to venture in German quality chocolates, cookies and more.
I believe I posted this before but an amazing amazing place to purchase items quality items super cheap prices it its just awesome where else can you find quality good orange juice for a buck-fifty even soda 2 L for $0.60 it tastes just like Pepsi and a whole bunch of items that you might need a really cheap prices to truthfully and awesome place
I love the place but PLEASE you need to keep it clean!!!! Floors are dirty ! It is brand new but not enough taken care of. If you do not clean, you will loose your customers
The fresh bakery is 4 stars hands down. Holding off the 5th star because, due to the pandemic, they prepackage the goodies in family-size packages which is way too much for a single person or couple. If theyd make single or double serve packs, Id be there several times a week for a mid-day snack break from work. The pretzels are right up there with what I got in shops all over Berlin!Overall I give the store 3 stars, down from what would have been 4 or 5 when they opened and were well-stocked with plenty of cashiers. Stocking seems to be getting a little better, maybe they are slowly figuring out what sells faster in this area? The biggest problem is being very slow to open additional registers when lines build up. Otherwise, Im loving the prices and access to items from Europe. Like any other store, you have to try different things to see what you like, not everything is automatically good. But I say the same about any other chain including Whole Foods or Trader Joes. With Lidls prices, its a lot easier to experiment!PS - they also need to be better about enforcing mask-wearing in the store. Each time I visit, its almost guaranteed Ill see at least one person with their mask pulled down, shouting into their phone while meandering around not paying attention to anyone around them.
Its Aldi spelled backwards...facts lol
What a disappointment. This place is always out of anything you would want. The produce section is picked clean every time I go there. I keep thinking the management will figure out how this supply/demand thing works but they dont seem to have any interest in fixing a very broken system. Its such a shame because a well run Lidl could have been a game changer in this area. Instead we get this excuse for a supermarket.
Lidl is wonderful. It was my first time going there, after they opened, but shall not be my last, even after I no longer have the coupons mailed to me. It was lovely to see a supermarket that really provides good, quality merchandise at reasonable prices. The grand total of what I spent today would have been at least fifty per cent higher if I had visited any other supermarket within a thirty-block radius from my home. I cannot wait to return to Lidl.
Good selection, great prices.
A very neat and clearly organized store with a great range of products and enough space to stroll around. The team are very friendly too.
Do NOT buy the Striploin steaks (Rastelli preferred), or youll regret. I bought 2 steaks at 5.99 each and they were bad, literally stunk my kitchen! Went shopping only because I had a $10 coupon. But this cost me more because I also bought items I didnt really need. Will never buy the vacuum sealed meat again, of any type.
Better than Aldi
Pretty good place. The Cookie Dough Ice Cream is Dope. The checkout aisle is not.
Great addition to the neighborhood. Nice bakery. Prices are reasonable and products are good
Its a nice place, prices are not that bad and is a clean store.
Worst Lidl Ive been to. Bakery section is always empty. Understaffed with barely any registers open. Its a real shame since I was so excited to have a Lidl close by.
Great prices, but you gotta test off brand stuff. you will find some great deals and some great losers, so do not buy quantity until youve tested the product.
Id like to see more NAME BRANDS ! The Prices are good and I did buy quite a few items and I will return to buy certain items . Good prices so far in the meat Dept. my Sister in Law was impressed with the low price on the VARIETY of CHICKEN.
Overall a good place to shop and what is expected from LIDL. This is a great place for picking up basic needs and staple items, as well as finding random items at great value. If you are looking for comprehensive selection or the freshest produce, this might not be the best.
When they first opened we were so exited but they dont have a large selection of organic food and they have been rather empty and understaffed. When I asked if they were hiring I was told no, so they need to fix something there. I wish we had gotten a Trader Joes or Wegmans instead. They have great baguettes and chocolate and a few other items though.
The Lidl in Weehaken is a disaster, not a representation of what Lidl is in Europe. They never have stock in the store- today was the absolute worst- the produce department was literally empty. They never have what is advertised. Who ever is running this store needs to be replaced. The competition in the area is much stronger. GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER
Good prices friendly staff
Upgraded version of Aldi.
Great deals and the associates are very nice.
Good prices, but a weird mixture of national brands, no-name brands, and their own label (like Trader Joes, repackaged stuff from small companies in Canada). Selection is okay but they frequently run out of staples like milk. Inexplicably they sell cheap merchandise like knit caps and appliances, and this area is plopped right in the middle of the store, making for a really inconvenient floor plan. Nowhere near enough organics, and the produce section is really limited. No fresh fish, only frozen. I wish someone else had moved into that space frankly.
It is a mini supermarket with limited quantity of different products. Not a wide variety of stocked name brand products. Its okay.
The right place in the right spot. After the super expensive Pathmark and the tricky Acme this European chain opened offering good quality for the price. I live 3 blocks away and so far I am very happy. Obviously it is born as hard discount and not all the products are great quality, but this is pretty normal. Anyway, their fruit products are really at the top. Nice surprise!! Also, their imported products are well over the average.
You cant beat the prices and they also have a lot of organic products that are great and at low prices. I especially like the Lidl products that are of high quality and taste good.
Compared to the old ACME, the items displayed are less and less variety of products. The bakery section seems to be good. Hoping to see more improvements.Perfect location with good car parking
Very clean supermarket. Decent selection of food products albeit most were off brand. Good prices though
You can expect some decent prices, but also look forward to finding empty shelves of staple goods. Limited selection that rotates, so it is pretty impossible to do a weekly shopping run. Most registers will be closed most of the time, long lines of about 20 minutes are common. Many of the lidl brand products are of poor quality and the only options. It’s walkable in weehawken and better than the empty lot that was the last year and it’s decent to pick up some produce on the way home, but that’s the best it has to offer.Oh, and remember to bring bags, they charge for them until they run out.
Most convenient place to shop good quality groceries
I love this supermarket.
Very nice! Everything is organized and assortment is good. Multiple stations where you can get disinfectant wipes and gloves to shop safely.
I know Lidl stores from Europe and was very excited about having one in the neighborhood. Prices are really good and I love their Preferred Selection products. Their brie cheese and baked brie are my fav. However, after a couple of weeks after opening they seem disorganized, every time I go into the store lately, there are no shopping carts available by the entrance. They should have one person collecting them from the parking lot. It’s a very BIG INCONVENIENCE for me to shop without a shopping cart.
I really like this spot. Always has what I’m looking for and the prices are great! ❤️
Long time Aldi shopper. First time at Lidl. Love it! Huge. Line moved fast. Returned the cart even though they dont hold a quarter hostage!
Place is great and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Love shopping at Lidl 🤗
Its cheap and the quality is decent, just sold out of stuff frequently...especially produce.
The best addition to weehawken. Great prices great produce. Love it
Loved this store and will be back.
What a surprise. I lived in Weehawken years ago and this was Pathmark. Stopped to get fish and found a unique store. Worth stopping. Purchased organic meats, wild caught fish (frozen) nice prices. Worth a stop!
Excellent prices. But they dis not have gloves.
My favorite new store !!! Great quality, low prices, unexpected and surprising inventory, amazing choice of afordable organic grass fed steaks, fresh veggies and fruits, wild caught fish, and so much more! And super friendly stuff 😀
Great prices
Great prices. Most of all, I found the service exceedingly great.
Love the store well organized, was my first time there and for sure you have a new client .
Great store! Love it. Reminds me a little of Aldis. Highly recommend.
Very clean store with a lot of items to choose from at great prices. I wouldn’t expect a selection like Shoprite but this has a good balance of quality items and price.
Clean and reasonable

I have been there with my mother 3 times and it was a nice expirience.
Like an Aldi but much bigger. They had some interesting things. I will keep Aldi as my primary because this location isn’t as convenient for me, but Lidl seems like a cross between an Aldi and a ShopRite.
I love Lidl, always good prices and great assortment.
My wife and I went to the grand opening since we had coupons plus they had great offers on their mailers. We love the place; it has a lot of reasonable prices, the bakery section is phenomenal and everything is fresh. The only thing that keeps me from giving them a 5 star rating is that there were way too many people inside and it was difficult to practice social distancing despite everyone wearing a mask. Had they regulated the amount of the people going inside like they do at Trader Joes in Edgewater then the experience wouldve been more pleasant for us especially now that Covid-19 Cases are rising. We wouldnt have mind waiting on line to go inside since we do that already at other places where we shop. Other than that, the store is great, we look forward to shopping there again as long as its not too overcrowded.
Essentially an Aldi on steroids. Im not sure if its just b/c its new, but they have been giving 10$ coupons after every transaction. Only reason not to give it 5 stars are the long lines with only 2-3 cashiers open at any given time.Update: the lines at this place are consistently terrible, never more than 2 cashiers working. Not worth going and now no more coupons. Do they not realize that they are losing money bc they refuse to pay an extra cashier 12$ an hour?
Not as cheap as Aldi, not as cool as Trader Joes, quite pricey too. Whats the point? Still better than Pathmark I guess.
