I cant rave enough about the amazing job Marc and his team did. Down-to-earth, quick, professional, and detailed - they really took care of my home. I had a deadline in mind and they exceeded expectations, while always being quick with the communication. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for new siding.

Marc and his crew were phenomenal. Marc was so responsive and professional during the initial consultation and he stayed in touch once the order was placed. His crew showed up and got the 12 window installation done in 1 day. They were very clean and polite. Marc was flexible with payment and has continued to be kind and accessible even after the job was done. I dont think Ive ever had a better customer service experience when dealing with home renovation or repair!

I am happy to leave the highest possible rating for Highland Window Company. I wanted to get replacements for nine windows in my home – seven double-hung windows and two picture windows. I ignored those companies that heavily advertise in newspapers and magazines such as Castle Windows, Window World and AWS. These companies purport to sell “better” windows than what most contractors install and charge considerably more. Andersen Renewal is the worst of the bunch, charging around $2,000 per window even after all their highly touted discounts. Ridiculous. So I focused on those companies that install Harvey Windows, which is a very good but reasonably priced window. And I only dealt with those companies that had very highly-rated user reviews on Google or Yelp. Of the three companies I eventually got estimates from, Highland Windows, owned by Marc Cowan in West Hartford, had the best price. His price was 30% lower than the next least expensive estimate, and a whopping 90% lower than the other. Keep in mind that the prices I was quoted was for the same exact windows. And to sweeten the deal, Marc had the best reviews on Google (4.8 with 50 reviews as of this writing). The company that had the next lowest price sent a “salesman” to give me the estimate. He admitted that the cost was as high as it was because he got an 8% commission on the sale, and there was a lot of company overhead because of their building and their sales and office staff. Marc owns the company and doesn’t have salesmen. He’s the one who comes to your house, takes measurements and provides the estimate. I also believe he works out of his home, greatly reducing overhead. As for the quality of the work performed, I couldn’t be happier. Three totally professional and qualified people came to my house – on time – and installed all the windows in about four hours. It took a few hours more to install all of the window capping, which really looks great. I even had him cap additional windows that had been installed previously with no capping, and he did it at an incredibly reasonable price. (Marc previously had given me the address of a house on which he installed windows and capping so that I could see what the finished product would look like.) When the installation is done, the clean-up is so complete that you cant tell anyone was there. From the time I originally contacted Marc, to having him give me an estimate, to guiding me through the process of getting a low-interest energy loan from CT Greenbank, and talking with him throughout the process, he has been an absolute pleasure to work with. I feel really terrible for those people who contact one company and for whatever reason decide to go with that company without getting several estimates. I am absolutely confident that if you call Marc Cowan and Highland Windows first, you will get the best price and absolutely superb installation. I can’t rate Highland Windows high enough. Marc and his team did a truly fantastic job.

I have used Marc and his team for a few projects and they do a fantastic job. Beyond that I recently had a question about how to remove the sliding panel of the slider they installed and Marc was not only willing to help but he helped walk me through how to do it quickly. Fantastic customer service as always and an easy choice for future projects I have.

Last year, after they had previously replaced some of our windows, Highland came back to replace our siding. They did a beautiful job. Our house looks so much better and we think will have a higher resale value. Our heating costs were lower last winter with the insulation they added. Highland Window just completed installation of replacement windows throughout our entire home. The house was custom built in 1971 and all windows had to be custom ordered due to their shape and size. I had several quotes before choosing Highland including a couple of companies that seemed intimidated by the job. Marc was great to work with, honest, responsive, and checked in frequently during the process. His crew cleaned up after themselves daily, and the job was well done. I would certainly recommend them to anyone looking for this type of work. I’m also very particular and rarely provide a 5 star review.

I waited almost 4 weeks for an appointment. The day before my appointment the scheduler called and wanted to change the window cleaning to the next afternoon. I had my very young grandchildren that day and said that I couldnt. She said she would call me right back. 24 hours later I called again trying to make an appointment. A different scheduler said she needed to talk to Michael and would call me right back. That was June 24..today is July 1st and I havent received a call. Im have an appointment with Nick at Buena Vista cleaning tomorrow.

I couldnt be happier with the way they do business. I had 19 windows and 2 doors done on my 1850s house and not one piece of trim was damaged. Highland Windows just completed replacing 9 windows in our 4 bedrooms. We chose the Harvey Majesty windows, as these seemed the best at matching our colonial house. The overall job was six weeks from order to completed installation, which was great. The install took two days, and the workers cleaned everything up quite well each day. During the installation, we asked them to do a couple extra things for us, which they were happy to accommodate! Overall a great job at a fair price (we shopped around before we picked Highland). Great company to work with.

Bottom-line: I definitely recommend Highland Window CompanyI worked with Marc to get a side door replaced. It was a fiasco. Some of the blame was Highlands, some was the door supplier and some was mine. Wrong door, wrong color, wrong screen door, you name it, it happened. BUT Marc was supportive and on top of every issue that occurred. In the end, even though he may have lost money on my job, he made it right. So while it was a long and stressful job, I was a happy customer at the end and Ill continue to give them my business and recommend them to others.

Met with a couple of contractors for a large project and after a lot of research went with Marc and Highland Window Company.Bottom line very happy and completely satisfied that we did.Marc walked us step by step through what we could expect as he oversaw a new roof, new windows (18), a new front door, new siding & soffits, and new gutters and downspouts.Each of the four different crews that came for each stage of the project were professional, polite, and skilled. Cleanup was done daily and hardly impacted our daily routine.Marc was out on the site very often throughout the process and answered all questions and concerns.We actually had one minor glitch on the project when a manufacturer sent a wrongly sized part for the storm door frame. Definitely still deserves five stars as Marc stayed on top of it and communicated to us regularly until it was resolved perfectly.Waited a couple of months to post this to make sure nothing popped up and nothing has - love the look, functionality, and quality of the work.

I obtained several estimates to replace a number of windows in our house. Not only was Highland the fastest to respond and provide an estimate, but they had the best price. They came when they said they would and did the work exactly as stated. They worked fast, quietly, left no mess and the end product was A+ quality. I’ll surely have them back for more work.

Affordable price and super professional installation. Marc came to our house to give us an estimation and walked with us in and around the house several times to make sure all we need is covered and to assure that we are in sync. After saving us money on things we thought we need and didnt really, Marc gave us an estimation for the entire house. After the windows were manufactured for our house Highland company installed the windows in a no less than perfect way, while making sure that the insulation is perfect and that we are happy in every step they make. Highland Window Company just finished installing 30 windows in our 1931 Dutch Cape, and we couldn’t be happier!Several years ago, we had a different window company come to our house, take over three hours to give an estimate and the salesman would not leave unless we signed the contract, (the estimate was over $30K. ). We had to tell him to leave. It was not a good experience, so we did not pursue further until we reached a point where a stiff breeze was blowing through our living room last January.Our experience with Highland, specifically with owner Marc Cowan, was completely different. Recently one of our sons broke a very large window. When I called Marc for a replacement and quote I was very pleased that the window would be replaced without a charge. We have had Highland Window Company do work in our home a couple of times. The first install they did for us was a tricky one where we had to replace a huge living room window that was original to the 1950s home. Marc, the owner spent time with me going over all the options to fill the space. For me the most important detail was to keep the big window feel of the original. Marc came up with the perfect solution and in reality upgraded the functionality of the space (now we have side windows that really open and close.). A couple of years later we decided to upgrade all the 1950s windows around the house and once again Highland Window was our go to vendor and installers. As someone who has grown up in the world of home construction and remodeling I appreciate that the Highland Window team is beyond courteous, respectful of the space they are working in, and when they finish they leave the space clean. Okay I have used Marc and his crew twice, once for Windows then my patio door. He is so responsive, caring and his crew is amazing. I just cant say enough about it because as a single Mom with 2 kids he worked with me pricing, install and professional.My Windows had problem he came out immediately and replaced the sash and called window supplier right on spot.I had many come in for quotes he was the only one I felt was honest fair and no smoke and mirrors. Highland Window Company replaced all windows in my parents house.I had a nice experience with their staff and everyone at HighlandUNTIL the install was completed. I have left several voice messages in the last SEVEN months trying to resolve a lingering issue. I have never received a call back.Simply put, if I would have know how terrible their after sale customer service is I would have never even consider them. I would not recommend them to anyone.
