RTH is not just a store, but a gift. The fragrance of leather and wood permeate, special items ooze from every wall, table and ceiling inside and outside merchandised with a deft hand. The associates are experts and have deep product knowledge. I always find something new. One can spend $25 or $2500 and leave with something never seen before. All my gifts come from RTH. Clothes, jewelry, leather, ceramics, pottery, accessories and more, oh my!!!
Cool little boutique right on La Cienega Blvd (Melrose shopping expanded). This shop, a few doors below Melrose, has a wonderfully curated feel to it. It sells a bit of clothing, some jewelry & bags, and pottery and home goods. Modern Bohemian. I loved most of what I saw in there; but dont have the disposable cash to make the place a habit; as I would like.
Some nice things. High prices pay the rent, I guess. Nowhere else but L.A. could you put those price tags on those items and expect to have customers do anything but laugh their way out the door. But here, all you have to do is behave as if youre exclusive, curate your little boutique as if its a museum, and then sprinkle some marked up chotchkies around for those with finite funds to take home as consolation prizes. If you buy something big, youre a mark. If you buy something small, youre a push-over. If you buy nothing at all, the shop attendants weep, and Im assuming theyre later beaten as punishment.
You must ring the bell. everything is too expensive, but youll want it.
La at its best.
